xLIZA Rellik San xLIZA I hate when people say bands like MCR are emo. Their Bullets album is not emo. They've never tried to be emo.
People just make them emo for their own twisted reasons. Honestly? Its because they are whiney, people associate whiney bands with emo. And they aren't avant garde enough to be goths either.
And they dont have whiney song lyrics so dont even try with that argument.Its Gerards voice, he constan tly sounds like he's about to burst into tears, plus consider what the elements of their mainstream songs Helena and Not OK consist of. Helena is about mourning the death of someone close, Not OK is about not fitting in and not pretending everything is fine about being true to your emotions, but throughout the song it sounds like he's crying. Hence why they can very easily be perceived as whiney, those two songs put me off listening to them, they don't put fourth a good front, when I actually heard more I found it was just Gerard Way's voice and the lyrics I really wasn't fond of, the instrumentals are actually pretty decent.

Bruises_Contrusions not emo..it just got lumoed in...in Kerrang like...years ago now..they first called them goth-punk...now it's emo...hmm Goth Punk, HA! that was a sick joke by kerrang, given that the two are genres constantly at odds, to be honest I would say they are just Punk and glam rock combined.

They are counted as emo but i don't think they are..But their music is great.

why/why not: Because they're more of a gothic look type of group. They're music could definetly be emo, but there look is more heavy.
