Jettrick In an interview with the Radio Times at Christmas, Russel.T.Davies is on record as saying although he likes the idea of bringing back bits of 'Who past each series he thinks they'll remain limited to one-offs to allow the series to develop its own mythology. He also stated categorically that, while he's in charge least, there'd be no more Daleks. While I'm not 100% thrilled with the way RTD has chosen to modernize the show, I think he's spot on about wanting to slowly bring back bits from the classic series while allowing for newer ideas and creations to develop. Still, it just wouldn't seem right for Tennant not to get a Dalek story at some point during his tenure...

I may not like Tennant as a Doctor choice but a Doctor should not be denied a Dalek story! And a cyberman one too. If they'd only kept Eccleston on a bit longer... Well at least one gets one and one gets the other.
I'd still wanna see a Master story but I doubt it will ever be... on TV at least.

Theta_Sigma Star_Lily The Master was my favorite villian because he was more subtle than the rest. And he's got personality. A little personality can go a long way. What do you mean by subtle? And I see what you mean about personality. I loved the relationship between Delgado's Master and Pertwee's Doctor. At first, he's a good guy. Then he's a bad guy. Then he's a good guy for realz and the other guy was an imposter. Although that's not a ver good summary. What I mean is we weren't sure for a while who exactly the Master was and what he was up to. Most Who villians are more straightforward.

I hope I'm not setting you up for disappointment, but they're releasing the Time Meddler on DVD (in the U.S.) on August 5th... He was kind of a bumbling idiot. Or that's what he seemed like in that one episode I saw of The Daleks' Master Plan

I love the Master, because of the progression of batshit insanity over time. Delgado!master is amoral and ruthless but not entirely unreasonable, Ainley!master was pretty nutty, more personal about the whole being evil thing, and starting to lose that gentleman-villain dignity, and then there's Simm!master who is clearly off the deep end unless you watched the Sci-fi channel cut that sliced out most of his crazy.
Also, he had one of the best "WTF?!" moments in Classic Who, when he shrunk himself and Peri was chasing him with her shoe. Earth-shaking amounts of lulz there, and yet he still managed to be a credible threat in the rest of the episode. Brilliant!
My next favorite after the Master is the Daleks, because they always sound so gleefully happy about everything they're doing. They make it sound like everything is the best thing they've ever exterminated! Whee, let's all spin our dome-heads and wave our plungers and eggbeaters around!
