Four boys, along with a small fox, stared outside of a large window. The window was usually a fairly clean and clear one, but now it was fogged from their breaths. They were mesmerized by the white blanket of snow that seemed to have covered everything outside, even the car was buried! This was nothign compared to the frost they had experienced a few months earlier.

" What do you think it is?" Kisten had apparently been able to come out of his daze, and his brothers soon followed as his question shook them form their dazes as well.

" I dunno," replied Elazu. He put his hand on the window, wiping away the fogginess so they could see again. He pulled his hand back and looked at it oddly. " But its cold," he excalimed, placing his hand upon Fawkes' cheek. Fawkes squeaked in surprise, scooting away from Elazu with a small glare.

" Don't do that Elazu," he muttered. Rouge, the small fox, sat up on his shoulder, placing her body against his cheek in order to warm it back up. Fawkes smiled and patted her head.

Only Trent stayed silent during their small conversation. The snow was new, cold, and a bit frightening, but it didn't scare him too much. To the contrary, he actually liked it, mainly because it was natural, or perhaps because there wasn't anything mystical about it. He looked over at his brothers, frowning as they bickered between themselves about what the snow could be. Perhaps they should just go outside and see?

With that he slipped away from his brothers, ignoring their calls of question and heading straight for Risika's bed room. He peeked through the cracked door, seeing if she was still asleep, and she was with Rex curled around her feet. He pushed open the door and slowly slipped inside, tip toeing toward the bed. He wasn't too sure why he was trying to be quiet, he was going to wake her up anyways right? As he reached the sid eof the bed, he paused, watching Risika sleep. His heart beat fast in his chest, he wasn't afraid to wake her up, but apparently his body was. So he decided to whisper.

" Mommy?" Nothing.
" Moooommmy?" She stirred, but still nothing. Trent huffed in frustration, his fear of waking her up quickly disappearing. He raised his voice a bit, tapping her shoulder. "Mommy?" Her eyes finally peeled open, glazed over from sleep, and then she sat up suddenly, her eyes wide.

" Whats wrong Trent?" Had he been screaming again and she didn't hear him? The lack of sleep has been getting to her, so when and if she did sleep it was a very deep sleep. She rubbed her eyes and patted Rex's head, who had been woken by her jump and crawled up into her lap. " Are you ok, hun?"

" Nothing's wrong mommy. Theres white stuff outside though." He explained his reasoning of waking her up, watching her reaction to the news. If it was bad, she would react as such. However, a smile crossed her face as she gently sat Rex on the floor before getting out of bed herself. She then picked Trent up, hefting him up on her hip as she made her way out of the room. Her movements were slow and tired, but she still smiled, and was that a glint of excitement in her eyes?

Once the pair reached the other boys, they had been mobed by the other boys. A flurry of questions and pant tugs as she looked outside the window herself, smiling even brighter. " Thats snow boys."

" Snow?" They all asked at once. Risika couldn't help but chuckle at their questioning looks. It was hard to explain with words, so she would explain it the best way she could, by taking them outside.

" Coats?"
"Check!"
"Gloves?"
"Check!"
"Ears Muffs?"
"Check!"
" What else?" Risika tapped her chin as she looked over the four boys. All of them had their coats, gloves, ear muffs, and boots on ( except Kisten, he has hooves and didn't need boots) so what else woudl they need to wear out in the snow?
" Mommy, mommy, mommy! Can we go now?" Kisten was hoping up and down with Elazu by the door, both trying their hardest to not just run outside until Risika gave them the ok. Trent and Fawkes were being patient, both watching the other pair with frustrated gazes. Everyone was bundled up as much as possible without makign them immobilized, so she supposed it was time to go outside. After zipping up her own coat and putting on her gloves, she made her way to the door, opening it up for the kids to go outside.

Kisten and Elazu instantly ran outside, jumping as far as they could into the snow. As they both landed they tumbled, giggling with glee. Risika held the door open for Trent and Fawkes, who were soon followed by Rouge and Rex, who scurried into the snow. Trent frowned out at the snow, hunkering down into the safety of his coat and scarf from the cold. Fawkes was intrigued by the snow, and seeing that Trent wasn't about to do anythign but stand there, he soon giggled and chased after Elazu, tackling him to the ground.

Risika smiled, standing in the snow next to Trent, watching the other boys play and also keeping an eye on their mischievous puppy, Rex, who also seemed to find herself in a pickle or two by just walking. Rex was safe for now though, having taken notice of Kisten being alone and going after him, yipping happily as she tried to make her way through the knee high snow.

A few hours of tackling, snow ball fights, snowmen creations, and snow angels, and the boys seemed to have lost the energy to even walk in the snow. Risika called them all back inside, promising hot chocolate and story time infront of the fireplace. This seemed to give them a boost of energy as they all made their way back to the house, throwing a few last minute snow balls before they got there. Once inside all winter items were removed, along with any clothes that may have gotten soaked from their games in the snow. Warm clothes place of the cold ones, and four sets of warm blankets infront of the fire, and it was story time.

Risika loved winter, and she was glad to see that her love had been passed on to her boys. They would defiantly be making another snow trip tomorrow, perhaps even take them to the sled hill. Time would tell.

" Mommy! Can I have some candy!" Kisten peered over at his caretaker, a hand slowly edging toward the shelves of candy. Out of everything in the store, Kisten loved the candy the most. Of course there were millions upon millions of movies for him to choose from, but the candy was much more exciting.

" No Kisten, stay away form the candy. Now come pick out a movie hunny." Risika glanced over at the young hooved child, she was about to go get him and make him pick out a movie, but he finally made his way over to them, thankfully. Trent merely watched, his arms secured around the rental box that was pressed to his chest. He had already chosen his movie, Tarzan, and to make sure that he got it, he held it protectively. Little did he know that Kisten would refuse his movie and demand another, what a scene to be had in the near future...

DivineSaturn

"Come along, girls." Mahou couldn't help but feel like a mother as she led the young girls through the aisles of the movie rental shop. Raven had finally allowed a television to be put into her apartment- for research, she had insisted- but it needed to be christened properly. And to Mahou, that meant a family movie night.

Holding tightly to Mahou's hand, Isvara looked up, eyes wide. "Can we really get anything we want? Anything?" There were so many choices! Maybe she could get something with a dragon, like at D-Corp! Except Myung-Ki was so violent. Unicorns were probably better. "Even unicorns?"

Mahou smiled gently at the one she had taken to calling the "good child." "Of course, Isvara. Anything you- Bian, not that!"

Content with being the "bad child," Bian had raced ahead, pushing another child out of the way, and was reaching up to the racks of candy. "Why not?" she asked crossly, not stopping her reach. "You said anything!"

"I said any movie. Not candy. And please, go apologize to the person you shoved." Dealing with Bian was such a headache, but it wasn't as if Mahou had a choice in the matter. At least she hadn't broken anything yet.

With a look of shock, Bian folded her arms. She wasn't apologizing to anyone! After all, she didn't do anything wrong!

Sika-chan
Kisten stumbled, his hands automatically reaching out to catch himself before he fell to the ground. Thankfully his tail and wings gave him extra help in the balance category, and quickly stood straight again. What had just happened? The grey child turned back toward the candy, looking at the child who had taken his post at the candy shelves. OH CANDY! Kisten soon trotted to the other child's side, bumping into her as he looked at the candy again. Which kind did he want?

Risika let out a frustrated sigh as she placed a hand gently on Trent's head. " I'll be right back, stay here, kay?" With a nod from Trent, Risika made her way to the candies, taking hold of Kisten's shoulder as she squatted down next to him, turning him to look at her instead of the candy.

" Kisten.."a warning tone in her voice.
Kisten's ears automatically folded back, he knew what this tone meant, he wasn't being good. " Yes mommy?"
" What did I say earlier?"
" To come pick a movie...and leav the candy alone."
"If you knew what I said, why are you still here then sweety?"
"I got pushed, and den I membered about the candy and.." Risika understood, he was so easily distracted, and...wait.
"You got pushed?" Only then did she look up at the other child beside him, and her eyes widened a bit as she caught sight of her. Could she be like her two boys? " Well hello there."

DivineSaturn

Bian quickly turned back to the candy, scowling as some other kid bumped into her. To Bian, people fell into two categories: the useful, and the enemies. Since this one didn't look especially useful, that put him squarely in the latter. Knowing this, Bian felt no remorse as she shoved him again, this time on purpose. "Hey! Move!"

"Nooo, Bee!" Whimpering a little at her sister's actions, Isvara quickly let go of Mahou's hand and hurried over. "Don't fight. He didn't do anything."

Before Bian could respond, Mahou was looming over both of them. "That's enough." Then, to Risika- the mother, she figured- she gave a tired smile. "I'm terribly sorry, miss. Bian has difficulty with strangers." And with family, she added silently. "Is your child unharmed?"

Sika-chan
Kisten frowned, looking over at the rude child beside him. Why was she being so pushy, there was plenty of candy for everyone. Kisten opened his mouth to say as such to the little girl but a gentle, yet firm presence of a hand on his shoulder made him keep his tongue. His closed with mouth with a snap then looked back at his mother who smiled proudly at him for being able to read her silent commands.

Risika stood then, turning her attention toward the two girls' guardian, smiling brightly. " No worries, he's fine. It'll take a bit more then a little push to harm this little guy." Kisten beamed at the compliment, waving at Mahou happily, having already forgotten about being pushed around by Bian.

Trent soon made his way over to the group, still clutching his rental box protectively. His eyes were glued to the two girls before him, a cautious look in his eyes as he approached Risika's leg and wrapped an arm around it, standing just behind it as if to shield himself from the group. He would do just fine watching for now he wasn't really interested in the new people his mother and brother were talking to, he just got lonely standing by himself.

DivineSaturn

Visibly relieved, Mahou relaxed a little. "That's good to hear. My apologies, again." Though she wasn't really the one who owed an apology, Mahou felt bound to offer one anyway. "Bian, you should apologize as well."

Bian scrunched her eyes shut and shook her head. "Nuh-uh! 'Sides, he pushed me too!" It was difficult to make herself look like the victim, but Bian was going to try every tactic she could think of in order to avoid apologizing.

Frowning, Isvara grabbed Bian by the hand. "Are you okay, Bee? Did you get hurt?" Even though the chances of Bian being seriously hurt were slim, with the way she was carrying on, it still didn't hurt to check. Isvara didn't want anybody to be hurt, or fight, or anything bad like that.

After considering her options, Mahou decided to let the girl be. She had to choose her battles, and this one wasn't worth the headache. She was surprised, however, when she saw the other boy approach Risika. "I wasn't aware you had more than one child, miss. You appear blessed."

Or cursed, if one of them was like Bian, but Mahou knew better than to say that part aloud.

Sika-chan
Risika smiled, her hand revolving to her side in order to gentle pet Trent's head. She figured he wouldn't want to be paraded around, but she didn't want him to feel ignored either.

" It seems you have two as well, though they are only two of five," She laughed sheepishly then paused thinking about the fact that this woman had two girls who seemed to be exact opposites, while she had two boys who were the same way. Was it possible? " Thule?" If she knew what she was talking about that would be perfect, but if she didn't Risika could just write it off as being a WW2 geek.

Kisten frowned at Bian, he hadn't meant to push her! Besides she was the one in the way. But it did worry him if he did hurt her, and just as Isvara figured, if Bian was carrying on so much, maybe he did hurt her. " You okie, girl?"

DivineSaturn

Five! Mahou put one hand to her mouth in surprise. "In that case, I commend you, miss. My lady only has three, including these two, and between the two of us we have our hands full." Of course, Raven was usually busy teaching, and the child who wasn't there had a griffin and a dragon in his care, but taking care of five actual children was a feat that amazed Mahou, and she wasn't embarrased to admit. "However do you manage?"

Grumbling about busybodies, Bian shrugged off both Isvara's and Kisten's worries. Of course she was fine! That they thought otherwise was insulting. And she still hadn't gotten her candy. Taking advantage of the grown-up's distraction, she slipped away, heading back for the candy rack.

Yep, Bian was okay. Shrugging, Isvara turned to Kisten. "Are YOU okay? Bee doesn't mean it, really." That was a lie, but if it patched things up and avoided more arguments, Isvara didn't feel too bad about telling it. "Is that your brother? Why doesn't he come over here?"

Sika-chan
Risika laughed, used to the other woman's reaction. She often asked herself those same questions. But once she really thought about it, she defiantly wouldn't be able to do it without Raziel, though they weren't married yet, he was more than a help with the kids.
" I have some help from my fiance. I would defiantly not be able to do it without him." She chuckled then, nearly smacking herself in the forehead for forgetting her manners.
" I'm sorry! My name is Risika and this little one," her hand went to Kisten's head, who beamed happily," is Kisten. And this," her hand went to her side, lightly touching Trent's head, who merely slunk farther behind her legs as he realized that attention was on him, " is Trent. Don't mind him, he's just a bit shy."

Kisten beamed at Isvara, having already forgotten about his ordeal with Bian and just happy that the green girls attention was on him now. " I'm okie! No worries," he was already picking up on his mother's mannerisms. He looked over at Trent, a small frown coming over him as he too thought why Trent never wanted to play. " He's just shys?" He heard Risika using that term for him, so he figured that it explained the way Trent acted.

DivineSaturn

A fiance explained some, but not all. Even if Raven's fiance was around, Mahou doubted their ability to handle any more children. The woman's modesty and capability made her all the more likeable, and Mahou found herself warming up to the trio considerably. "It is a pleasure, Miss Risika. My name is Mahou, and these two are Isvara and-" Pausing, the elf looked around. "Bian must be around here somewhere..."

"Oh." That was like 'Noki, then. But 'Noki was still nice and read stories and gave her piggyback rides, so it stood to reason that this "Trent" would be nice as well. "Can we go say hi, or will that make him scared?"

In the meantime, Bian had started climbing the candy rack. The silly grown-ups had to put her favorite kind on the top shelf, of course, but that wasn't going to stop her.

Risika sat quietly on a very comfy chair, glancing up form her book from time to time to check on her boys. They were both behaving very well, apparently they both shared a love for reading, and did so quietly. From time to time she would look up whenever she heard Kisten's impish giggles, fearing that she would see him pestering some poor person who happened to stumble upon the small group. However, it seemed that the comic book that Kisten had picked up was just that funny. Trent on the other hand just sat quietly at Risika's feet, leaning gently against her leg as he flipped through a pop up book about the rain forest. Risika wondered why she never brought them to a book store sooner.

chirigami
Once in a blue moon - well, more like every once in a while when she was feeling not so paranoid - chirigami would actually leave her apartment and the building, much to the gasps from the household [and a few from her neighbors 'So, that's who lives there!']. Today seemed like such a day, but mostly because the her usual tactic of employing the internet to get her basic needs had failed her. It didn't seem to have the answers to her questions, damn google, and also wouldn't let her order her usual supply of manga and books.

Logically, the red head should have headed towards the museum, as her quiries centered around her lovely little paperweight, which was currently kept nice and secure in a wooden box within her sachel, but upon heading in the basic direction - then getting lost - she had found herself in a rather lovely bookstore. Well, could take care of one of her errands, chiri chirped to herself as she meandered down the aisles towards the comic books and manga section.

"kaze ni notte ~ yume no kanata e ~ tonde yukitai ~" She sang lowly, a little off key as she ventured with arms swinging with each step, passing a few people - some with weird looks at her singing and some narrowing their eyes at her disturbing - and even a small group of two little boys and a woman sitting in their chairs. "yuuki to yuu tsubasa wo tsukete ~ tori ni natte ~" I hope they carry Japanese manga ~ Was the only thought she really had in her mind.

Sika-chan
Kisten's ears perked suddenly, and he craned his head backwards, soon falling into his back from the awkward angle. Hey that lady was singing a language he didn't understand! Very much like what Aubrey did on a daily basis, but this song sounded different, and the lady was looking at the comics where he had gotten his book. He grabbed hold of his book, leaping to his feet as he made his way toward the lady, tugging at her pants leg.

" Hey lady! Which ones do you like to read? I like anything with pretty pictures, like dis one," he held out the comic book he had grabbed, not for the story line, but because the art on the front was colourful. " Which one you reads?"

Risika glanced up from her book, sighing slightly as she saw that Kisten had ventured off. What was she going to do with him?

chirigami
"Mou..." chiri sighed defeated, looking over the selection in front of her. Nothing Japanese, nothing new and all the English translations she already had online or in their original language. Her eyes glanced at the English comics, more noteably a Hellboy volume she had never notived before - probably because of the lack of Mick Mignola art. She let her tan fingers hover towards "The Black Wedding" ... that was until....

It took a lot of self control, read a lot, for chirigami to not screech and clammer up the book case or high-tail-it out of the store screaming like she was on fire. The little voices in her heads, the logical ones and few remaining sane ones, reminded her they were in a public building and other people were about and bound to bump into her. Even small little grey children with purple wings who would tug at her blue jeans asking her questions all the while shoving a comic book at her.

"Uh.... etou...." Wide red eyes stared down at the small curious.. uh.. boy? Her brain tried to reboot, heart trying to calm down, the hand that had been reaching for the comic now clutched her deep indigo and yellow shirt that read 'NICE VIBE' upon it. "Eee......." She looked at the cover of the comic he was showing her and made a feeble attempt to look back at the Hellboy volume and grab at it but instead found a volume of 'Fables' in her hand. Well, she had never read it but the cover looked pretty itself... so she showed it to him in hopes to appease his question - and distract him as she calmed down.

Sika-chan
Kisten gasped happily, grabbing hold of the offered book and staring wide0eyed at the cover. Now this cover was pretty! He quickly opened the book, flipping through the pages to look at the art. This lady knew what she was looking at.

Risika stood up then, placing a hand on Trent's head to let him know she would be back. She approached Kisten and the woman he seemed to be pestering, smiling apologetically. " I'm sorry is he bothering you? He's a very curious boy." She placed both hands on Kisten's shoulders, squatting down in order to be on the same level as him. " Why didn't you tell mommy you were going somewhere?"

Kisten shrugged, his attention lost in the pages of the manga he now held. He didn't know, he was just so excited that he forgot, that was it!

chirigami
chirigami stared some more at him silently, still thinking that perhaps running could be good while he was distracted. Yes, run and hide in a hole, that would be good. She bit her lower lip and flicked her gaze towards the shelf next to her and then back down at the amused child. He had taken the last copy of the book.... but maybe that wouldn't mean he would totally take it, right? Though she had accidently grabbed it herself, she thought the cover was pretty too... and wanted it.

"Ee..." She began, eyes not so much saucers anymore, trying to get his attention. She stopped as the blonde woman approached and took the attention of the boy. Oh, she has horns, chiri's brain supplied, [and a tail... kind of like Mr. Tail but not so much... [Said symbiot swished behind her, the tip dancing across the covers of the nearby books.] The red head watched in continued silence as the two conversed, her fingers fidgetting and tightening upon the strap to her bag. Should she ... go?

"Ee?" She suddenly blurted out, "You're his mom? You look nothing alike!" chiri's eyes were once again wide, this time with surprise - and not that shock and fear deer in the head lights look. Once again, chiri seemed to forget... this was Gaia, and well, maybe things could happen. Mr. Tail halted his swishing and really wished for hands at that moment so he could facepalm.

Sika-chan
Risika's head cocked to the side, a momentary dullness taking over her brain. She always saw herself as their mother, so when it was finally questioned, she forgot that it was true, she and Kisten looked nothing alike. She laughed then, running a hand through her long hair, a nervous habit she had whenever caught acting stupid. She placed both hands upon Kisten's ears, hoping to dull out her response to the question. She didn't need to though, Kisten was so lost in the manga in his hands that she could have said pratically anything and he wouldn't have heard it.

" Well no, I'm more like a caretaker. Raised them since they were a little rock! I know, awkward but don't ask its a long story." Although maybe perhaps not too much of a long story? This was Gaia after all and getting children from odd means seemed to be very popular, or rather very reoccurring. She took her hands off of Kisten's ears then, smiling brightly toward the other woman. her eyes did linger on her tail though, a smirk crossing her lips as she flicked her own tail in recognition. She loved living here, it made her feel less like a freak.

chirigami
chiri tilted her own head to the side in confusion, brows knitting together as the blonde woman covered the boy's ears. "Did I say something wrong?" She asked innocently. The red head did have a bad habit of just blurting things out, she didn't understand a lot so she figured asking was the best way to get things explained.... and trying to keep in thoughts made her head hurt.

"A little rock?" She repeated, expression and confusion instantly expelled and now replaced with her usual cheery nature. "That's not totally weird, I had a necklace that turned into a teenager and a can that turned into a goat. I had something like a rock too, well have..." She chirped happily, hands now in her bag and fishing out the wooden box with the relic and kept going a little faster and excited. "I walked to this museum that I used to go to all the time and this weird man with horns," She gestered with one hand to indicate the horns and also a signal for crazy hair, "and stuff gave me this relic and said to take care of it and I was totally surprised 'cause I never expected I'd get to take care of my own Aduthule and such." She sucked in another breathe, pausing mid ramble and slowly opened the box to reveal the little stone paper weight like object she had been caring for. "I was going to go to the museum, 'cause it's been a while since I've had it and they haven't come out of it... and... I got worried maybe I didn't take care of them right or something or somethng bad happened .. or something."

chiri paused again, her mouth kept shut with no indication to go further into babbling. Her red eyes glanced down at the relic and then to the woman, somewhere in the back of her mind she wondered if this was the same situation... and that maybe she could be reassured that things would be okay.

"I'm chirigami, by the way." She added after a moment of silence.
