ok, fine, but i still don't think that is true b/c that would be getting to heaven by not sinning, which is good works, which god says isn't true.

Could you provide the verse? On assumption I believe it is in the book of Ephesians. Having to do with baptism.

I believe you are interpreting the verse incorrectly. Unless you wish to deny formerly provided verses?

Not sinning doesn't mean you are doing good works. Getting to heaven by good works means you think you can just go and help people and get to heaven. You still have to try not to sin. Trying not to sin doesn't mean you are doing good works. Just because you have been saved doesn't mean you go around and do whatever you want.

1It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and of a kind that does not occur even among pagans: A man has his father's wife. 2And you are proud! Shouldn't you rather have been filled with grief and have put out of your fellowship the man who did this? 3Even though I am not physically present, I am with you in spirit. And I have already passed judgment on the one who did this, just as if I were present. 4When you are assembled in the name of our Lord Jesus and I am with you in spirit, and the power of our Lord Jesus is present, 5hand this man over to Satan, so that the sinful nature[a] may be destroyed and his spirit saved on the day of the Lord. (1 Cor. 5:1-5)

I find the last verse here very interesting.

Hebrews 10:26-27

26If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

1 John 1:8-9

8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Confession and repentance is ongoing for christians to stay covered by the forgiveness of the blood of Jesus. There is grace for a lot of sins we might do unknowingly I believe for no one is perfect. And there is a lot of grace for a heart that desires to please Jesus above all else for no one is perfect except Jesus.

You can lose salvation.

Romans 11:21-22

For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22-Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

God will cut off branches. Then there is the unforgiveable sin. We still can choose to turn away from God even after we are saved.

If you read the verses in context, the branches applied to Jews who did not believe in Jesus were cut off, but Gentiles who believed in Jesus were grafted in. Not arguing what is clearly implied though.

Yes. Later in the chapter gentiles are referred to as wild branches.
