She smiled a little. "Oh, I know. I learned that first hand." A small laugh. "I was just... wondering if it could ever not be like that. I've just heard otherwise before, that's all. And I'm so uncertain, myself."
Hands still moving over weeds, she pursed her lips. "I guess it'd be easier, though, for the girl to find somebody her own age. Right?"

"Not neccessarily. There are just as many guys who just want a girl for one thing, at any age."
Shrugging slightly, he added some words after that.
"Most of the older guys who would be interested in you for you - you'll probably have to convince them. Because they'd be the ones who would be nervous at the idea of an older man and a young woman."

She stored that little bit away. That sounded right - it made sense.
"But I wouldn't want to twist a man around to get him to agree. Even if he was interested in me... it doesn't seem right to convince him that age doesn't matter. It should be his choice, shouldn't it...?"
It was such a murky situation.

Pulling up some more weeds, Dacian elaborated further.
"If you try and change someone's mind about something, they still choose whether or not to change it. If say, for example...you loved gardening, and someone else hated it - would it be wrong to try and convince them that gardening was enjoyable? And would it be wrong if they eventually decided that they liked it?"
To the mage, it wasn't all that murky. But he tended to see things a bit differently then most people anyway.

"... I suppose you're right," she said after a moment of thought. "Still. I'd be afraid... that perhaps they'd just go along with it, so as not to hurt me. And that's not what I'd want."
More weeds. There was a growing pile near them. "I guess I'm most afraid that I'd come off... too strong. Too forceful. Too desparate.
"Any tips for that?"

Which he didn't really recommend if she was trying to convince someone who was unsure.
"Just don't hog tie and carry them away to your lair."
Dacian smirked at Natalie, before continuing, "But jokes aside - just don't act overtly sexual. Profess your interest in them, but be sure to shy away from anything too - well, provocative. Keep it relatively innocent for a while."

Keep it innocent - yes, she could do that. She was more than willing. After all the chaos these past few days....

Dacian couldn't restrain laughter at that, his mind immediately jumping to certain conclusions.
"Well, make sure these 'cute' costumes of yours don't get too cute."
He said this mischievously, because when one considered what they were talking about, and then said 'costume'...well. It would be no surprise that people would think of costume's similar to what Marc had sent Remi.

"Actually, the one I'm working on right now is nowhere near as skimpy as the ones we managed to pick out that night. I don't even remember why I still have those. They're from halloween parties ages ago.
"Think you guys will throw a Halloween party, when the time comes? It could be a masquerade ball, or something. Or we could just have an impromptu costume party..."

Dacian liked the idea of this - whether it be an actual masquerade or just a halloween party. Already he was starting to plan it out in his head.
"We could use the school for it. The lobby is large enough to use - though since we don't have too large of a group, we could use a smaller room as well."
Hell, they could use parts of the lab if they wanted - didn't eevn need to use the school.

This talk of a masquerade was getting her hyped up. She'd always wanted to go to one! See if she could fool her friends.
"I think we should have it sooner, rather than later. It'd be fun! And a good way for people to meet each other. I've always wanted to go to a party like that."

Dacian wasn't against hosting it, but Natalie seemed even more excited then him - so it made sense for her to host it rather then one of the mages.
"I don't see why it couldn't be lots of people - the more the merrier, hm?"
At least lots of people in a single apartment wouldn't be that bad; people did it all the time.

Waving a dismissive hand at Natalie, Dacian offered a suggestion,
"I get the funding for you, and can help you organize. But you seem so excited about it that it should be you - you'd be someone who would definintly enjoy it."
Extended invitation? A lot of the guardians had friends and family outside the compound, so that made sense.
"Sounds good! See? You have plenty of ideas."

She pursed her lips. "I still don't have much experience with parties... all of mine have been more like the other night at my apartment. Nothing big. Nothing elaborate. Do you have any experience with stuff like that?"
Honestly, she did want to host it. Badly. But she also wanted it to work.
