"Softies?" Gavin blinked. "Like mine?"

He was getting that feeling again. That something that made him want to go search for the unexplainables. He still had the box of them underneath his bed, though he was still waiting on Hadrian to fix his Froo Froo. The dog food was starting to smell though, so he'd need the rest of these mysterious items before Mommy found out.

"We find Gawain?" Gavin asked excitedly, following Ina through the doorway. "I wanna see softies!"

Ina seemed a little disappointed that he was so excited to see her big brother. Sure, he was pretty cool with his big softies and white hair and his robotic stuffs, but...she had kinda wanted to go play! She had all sorts of neat toys and stuff...but he didn't sound like he'd be interested. Darn! "Fine..." she mumbled with a nod. "He probably up stairs." After going in the door there was a staircase right in front of them leading to the upper level. She went right up them without a second thought-she had lots of stair practice.

"Ewww...stairs," he scrunched up his nose. Too many stairs. Nevertheless, he bounded after Ina seeing that she was already halfway there. He'd get Ina to show him her toys after he'd stolen a feather or two. Or who knew, maybe stealing softies would be even more fun.

"Ina good at stairs!" he huffed by the time he made it to the top. He looked around and realized he had no idea where he was. This place was huge. With a clap he giggled, "Ina be leader!!"

Apparently today was 'abuse the exclamation point' day, but all this excitement was just too much for him to contain.

Ina was at first torn on being smug at being the leader or being weirded out by it. Weren't boys supposed to be the brave hero leaders that took charge? But then...did she really want to be bossed around? Nope! That settled it. Being girly would wait until later. "OK!" Ina said happily, her ears stiffening and her tail lifting proudly without her even thinking about it.

"This way!" Ina pointed to their left. She then began to march along down the hall, heading for Gawain's room. The door was closed when they got there, but she didn't seem to care. She stood on her tip-toes and twisted the handle, "GAWAIN~!" There were sounds of an electric screwdriver being used inside. It quickly stopped at the call from the purple toddler, though. Suddenly a boy appeared in the doorway, his hair messy and white, with long white and gray wings folded at his back and a pretty feathery tail coming from a neatly made hole in the back of his jeans.

He followed the tail. Purple and fluffy. He wanted to touch it again, but that would probably just bother Ina. Slowly but surely the knowledge of when and when not to touch things was seeping into his mind. However, this would not stop him from getting a few spare softies. Those were important. Why? He didn't know yet!

When they reached the door, Gavin put his ear to the door. What was that noise? It sounded interesting. When the door opened, Gavin fell forward from the loss of a surface to lean against. Regaining his composure, he took one look at the other feathery boy on the other side of the door and his eyes widened in awe. This guy was white! So much prettier than his orange.

"Allo!" he smiled at Gawain. He didn't know how he was going to get one of those pretty white feathers, but he definitely needed one. Maybe he'd get one for Haki too. She'd definitely like that.

Gawain blinked, his face rather blank. Had he been a grumpy teenager he probably would have just shut the door back up on them with all the interest he had in their visit. But despite his logical mind flow he was still a child and there was that natural acceptance and tolerance that still lingered in him. "Hey..." he said softly, his voice carrying very little emotion. He rubbed a greasy hand on his shirt, pulling the door a little wider, "...this is your...friend Ina?"

Ina grinned, "Yep yep! This Gavin!" She twirled slightly, waving her hand at the little hawk boy beside her. She wanted to giggle looking from Gavin to Gawain. Both had so many softies! It was fun to see them close together like this!

Gavin stood in awe. White. And he was taller. Would he ever be that tall one day? Of course, for a toddler, anything over an inch above their heads was considered tall.

"Yep!" he waved at the sound of his name. "What your name?"

Of course, Ina had seemed to be screaming something that sounded like a name on the way here, but he had been too busy trying to keep up to pay attention. And softies. He wanted those softies.

"...I'm Gawain," the older boy murmured, eyeing Gavin thoughtfully. He sure was...orange. But then, Ina was purple, so why was he surprised. He leaned on the doorframe slightly, his wings folded neatly on his back. "...what are you guys doing...?" He asked hesitently. He really wanted to get back to his things. But he didn't really want them in there while he worked. They might break something or get scared or whatever. He knew Ina didn't like it when he used his tools because she said it was too noisy and it hurt her ears.

Gawain. Sounded like Gavin. Gavin liked this guy already. Ina's brother seemed nice enough. For a moment he looked at Ina, thinking she was going to answer his question, but then looked back at Gawain with his own question.

"Can I have one?" he pointed toward Gawain's wings with all its white feathers. He just wanted one. Or three. Or six. He only needed one, but souvenirs were always nice too. He'd even trade his own feathers for the white ones.

Gawain blinked, baffled. One what? He stared at the younger boy, wondering what in the world he meant. Did he mean one of his tools or toys...? He didn't really know what else a toddler could want. Toys seemed the likely option. While he was willing to share, childhood possesiveness made it hard for him to want to give them away.

"Yeah! Want softies!" Ina chimed in happily. She had always wanted some of the softies of either her friend or her brother...but when she had tried to pull one from Gawain's wings once Mommy had scolded her.

Gawain stiffened, his feathers ruffling slightly. He looked very uncomfortable, a frown clear on his face. "You guys aren't going to be pulling any feathers out of me," he told them both sternly, looking like a cat who had been rubbed the wrong way. "Go to mom's room...she always collects my feathers when they fall out," and with that he shut the door on them, not wanting to give them the chance to pluck him like a goose for cooking.

Gavin flinched when the door shut. Well that hadn't gone as he expected it to. His own wings drooped in a kind of defeated expression. People usually didn't use that kind of voice on him unless he was in trouble. The door shutting only furthered this train of thought.

"We make him mad?" he asked with a slight whimper, turning toward Ina. This was her brother after all. "We do something bad?"

"Humph!" Ina glared at the shut door, her tail switching from side to side in irritation. He didn't have to be so mean! What was wrong with wanting softies?! "He crabby today," she reasoned with a pout, folding her short arms with stiffened ears. Well, cranky or no, Gawain wasn't going to stop her! They were going to get softies anyway! She looked at Gavin, "Go to mommy's woom? Bwudder say softies in there..." She had never looked before, so she brightened with excitement.

Gavin blinked. Ina didn't seem sad that they'd made Gawain angry, so maybe he was in the clear. He perked up at the suggestion to go to Ina's mommy's room.

"Yes!" he threw his arms up in the air, an obvious sign of agreement. "Let's go!"

Again, he'd have to let Ina lead the way. This place was huge, and so easy for him to get lost in. Ina could be his guide along the way to get the softies.

"Yay~!" Ina darted away from the door, racing down the hall. It wasn't long before she ducked into a near by room. The door was open, unlike the one that led to Gawain. Inside there was a huge bed, some other pieces of white furnature, and a small part leading to two more doors. If Osha had been there he probably would have loved the colors, for Ari decked her room in silver, purple, and teal hues.

She frowned, looking around the room. If she were mommy, where would the feathers be. She grinned, "Mommy's closet!" She hurried to one of the doors in triumph, pushing it open and ducking inside.

Gavin faithfully followed Ina into her mommy's room. Considering his own Mommy hardly ever let him in her room, he figured this was going to be quite the adventure. Even though he wasn't Osha, he still liked the room. Much bigger than his Mommy's room, which meant more places to run around and such!

"Closet!" he chirped, diving in after her. What better way to start exploring than leaping through the door?
