ScionoftheBlade DarkHalcyon ScionoftheBlade DarkHalcyon darkphoenix1247 lol this question only further brings out my lack of knowledge of what goes on around me, but what does it really mean to be goth? i know it is a common steroetype that goths are haters of life and always wear black clothes (no offense; i never believe in stereotypes), but what is a goth? sweatdrop I don't hate life. Pick up a copy of Voltaire's "What is Goth"...which is the humourous approach. (Love the bat!!) Goth is a mindset..an attitude. To go any further than that would just be making hastey generalizations. It's also a pretty divergent subculture, too. I've always found the people fascinating to be around, and of course, I'm drawn to the music. heart I live in the heights now though IF anyone ever decides to visit Manhattan, come see me at the Albion or CBGB's and I"ll tell you more >.> ... eek you live in manhatten? Practically. I can't afford to live in Manhattan right now. I'm about an hour away though, so I'm there every weekend, and randomly during the week. Really big on the music scene there 3nodding I grew up in a nice little bubbble called monsey gonk but I live in the heights now Uhh.. there's lots of heights... Which heights?

I'm too talkitive to be gothic i just realized that
one of my friends heard Evanescence's song "Turniquit" <-- can't spellt he figged up word -.-
anyways about 3/4 through the song a big line is "i long to die" and my friend is like "oh they are a gothic band oh i don't like them"
gah she annoys me too -.-

Because everyone at my school would give it that label... Stupid high school. I'm not goth, and no one has ever thought I was. Except for that one time at camp that I was wearing a black shirt and jeans and was in the mood to wear more eyeliner than usual, and this one girl asked me if I was trying to be goth. Which was actually kinda offensive, because I wasn't, and you could tell she was saying it as a bad thing. Anyway, my opinion is that the 'goth' kids at my school- most of whom don't consider themselves goth- are among the coolest kids in the school, right alongside the drama geeks. They are totally accepting of everyone and everything, and tend to be a lot nicer than some of the more 'normal' kids. I actually don't know a single Jewish goth. Jewish punks, maybe one or two, but no goths.
