Gaius smirked, adjusting the towel over his shoulder. "The first thing you learn on the island is that plans quickly become meaningless when you have all the time in the world. Any distraction is welcome!"
He glanced back down at the girl, who seemed to be hesitating. The anxiety and awkwardness he was all too familiar with. Offering a supportive grin, he nodded towards the rec room. "Come on, won't you join us? They have a bunch of console games available, and it's better to play with more people."

Ally nodded slowly. "I suppose I could go." Getting to her feet she dusted off her pants, and quickly shoved her hands into her pockets. "Though I must admit, I'm not very good at console games." She offered Gaius a strained grin, "Unless its a really old school fighting game of course."

Gaius chuckled, waving off her warning. "I've only played one or two games, and they were at one of my buddy's places! Don't worry, I'm far from being a gamer! I'm sure most anyone could beat me easily."
As the 'senior' islander, Gaius felt it his job to act as a guide of sorts. He started off for the town center, then stopped and looked back expectantly at the other two.

Liamh grinned at Ally as he started after Gaius. "And i make no promises, as i consider myself the world's champion Pong player, and thusly i should 'totally ownzors' at all kinds of games, right?" He laughed. "Seriously though, it's my dark secret, i suck at anything made after 1995," he smirked. "Just don't tell anyone. I'll challenge you to that oldschool fighter, though!"
He trotted after Gaius. "And i saw some regular old non-electronic games, if you crazies wanna go for pool or something."

"Your secret is safe with me...for now I suppose." Giving him an impish grin she followed after them."And, I'll take your challenge on bean pole, but be warned, my brother has made me an expert at oldschool!"
"Pool huh? Doesn't take much hand eye coordination does it?" She really had never played the ball game, opting to watch her friends rather than play. The one time she remebered playing there had been an inccident...she wasn't quite sure how the eightball had landed on the family hampster.

"Bean pole?" Liamh crossed his arms in a mock pout. He turned to Gaius. "Hey, Trigger, did you hear what carrot top here called me?" He gave a dramatic sigh. "So what if i turn sideways and go invisible?" He pointed a finger at her. "You're on! It's a duel to the death." Putting hsi hands in his pockets, he continued on, whistling.
"Pool? No hand-eye coordination?" He glanced back at her, boggling. "Never played billiards, then, i'd guess?"

Ally gave a mock indignant chuckle, "Carrot top now?" A hand strayed to her red hair, "What are you talking about, my hair is as blond as Marilyn Monroe's!"
"Alright, that was probably a stupid question, suppose it would take hand-eye coordination. But for the record, no I've never played it, I think I tried once when I was younger...maybe...but the outcome probably wasn't so wonderful."

Gaius looked back over his shoulder, raising a brow at the strange-talking guy. "Trigger? What, I get a nickname now?"
He chuckled, leading them on through the village center. It was a short walk to the large building. Gaius opened the door for the other two, a wave of air conditioned chill sweeping over him. Still wearing only his swim trunks, Gaius shivered slightly, a wave of goosebumps causing all his hair to stand up. Hrm, might be a good idea to change soon...

Liamh passed into the building, nodding to Gaius. "Yeah, you know, Roy Rogers and all?" He offered little other explanation as he caught sight of the games room. "Sweet Moses apple pie..." He started towards it with a skip. "Big screen TV!"
There might be hope for this place after all, least for the moment.
He charged into the room without looking around and made for the flat-screened monolith. "Take me, take me now!" He proclaimed cheerfully.

Gaius scratched his head, having no knowledge of any Roy Rogers. His confusion was quickly forgotten, however, when Liamh went running into the room and started drooling on the TV. A grin cracked his face and a laugh escaped as he watched. Liamh's antics were highly amusing, like a kid in a toy store.
"I dunno, I could probably get it mounted better than that. Check out the game selection and see if you can find anything you like!"

"Roy Rogers was a Wild West Star, way back when." Ally told Gaius as she entered the room. Her gaze flickered from Gaius and back to Liamh a small smile playing across her face. "He reminds me of my little brother. Jeff would have immediatly gone to the big screen, he's a techno geek of some sorts."

Liamh gave Gaius a salute and started rummaging through the cabinet of games. "Ooo, hey.... *snrk* Hah... haven't seen that one in.... Ahah! Hmm, nah..." He pulled a couple out here and there and started stacking them beside him.
"Halo, Counterstrike, Tribes.... OOo! Smashbrothers!" He cackled gleefully, tossing more things on the pile. Wherever he was, whatever distant plane of existance the cabinet had transported him to, he seemed blissfully engaged. "And some kind of Street fighter clone, awesome.."
Watching him, one might think perhaps his attention span was that short. Perhaps he was just fooling himself for the time being. But perhaps, just perhaps, the enthusiasm was infectious.
He turned back to the others, smirking. "Those goons musta spent a small fortune digging all this up. Hope it's worth it for them!" He shook a fist over his shoulder.
"HAH! Naruto!"

Many of those names were famliar, and again she was strongly reminded of her brother, he had loved to play Halo. A small spasm of homesickness washed across her before dissapering at the mention of a familiar title. "Street Fighter?" All notion of being shy evaporated immediatly at the mention of one of her favorite games. She all but dove towards Liamh. "Lemme see it!"
She tugged the game from Liamh looking it over excitedly. "A rip off, of course, but definatly looks well worth the time...Seeing as we've got so much to waste anyway!"

Gaius sat back on the couch, pulling his tail out from under himself so as not to smash it, and let out a relaxed sigh. For a moment he could forget it all, forget the strangeness of his body, forget the island and all the horror it contained, and just imagine that he was back, bumming around in one of his friend's appartments as they decided what game to play. It was a healing sensation.
"Play whatever you guys like. I can't tell a shooter from a race, so you'll just have to excuse my incompetence!" he smirked.
