Blaisixi eek Oh you're KIDDING!! 5K gold for that kind of avi art stuff ???... and that's a good price??? OMG!! I'm going to HAVE to start doing some then!!!! ::trots off to wrestle with the various boxes in the garage to find pen tablet sweatdrop :: PS: I'm not commenting on the quality of art (it's better than most I've seen) - just on the going prices for such things and my ability to do it!! PPS: quit conspiring to get me to do avi art!! xd lol..yeah...that is a good price...of course the better the art the more valuable it is....i know that i have seen one persons art auction go well into 400K.....and noone is conspiring to get you to draw...puts on halo and starts whistling razz but even if you did decide to open a shop my dear...you have the power to limit yourself to how much you will do....that way you dont overdo your self wink

sweatdrop ... neeeeeeeed pen tablet... gold... garage stressed ?! ... AVI ART! ... SIGGY PETS!... mouse?? eek ...garage stressed stressed sweatdrop ... art college.... Gooollllld... 3nodding 3nodding 3nodding
Butterfly, nice to see you've put on the *dark* halo instead of the angelic one, 'cuz that devil tail just isn't staying hidden! wink And yes, I could try limiting it, but I often find that things like this end up taking on a life of their own, if you know what I mean... and just for my own sanity, I'd probably end up limiting the "degree of finish" on whatever I decide to do (LMAO! - like *that* would work!!). Of course, I won't even try it (ok, I may *try* but probably won't release it) without a pen tablet. Hmmm... *pokes squiggle*... although those I did without tablet, but that's not the same as avi art either... and they are more than a little overdue for an evolution... sweatdrop

i'm still looking at butterfly's half done pic sweatdrop 'finish' is a problem of mine too, i try to make myself draw 5 minute head shots, no correcting or nothing! that's what Jaz's first pic was, which is why she has one ear much larger than the other and the kiki looks rather strange! rofl the extra hour on the second just gave a more symetrical look to the shades, and the cat's head is the right shape rolleyes i really want to get better at these, to be able to draw a line and not have to rub it out 6 times before it's right, that wears the paper away anyway as i'm finding out redface

Poppetta ... i really want to get better at these, to be able to draw a line and not have to rub it out 6 times before it's right, that wears the paper away anyway as i'm finding out redface try a "sketch pad" for a better quality paper and invest in even a couple varying-"weight" artist pencils... a "3H", an "HB", and perhaps a "4B". These ratings indicate the "heaviness" (darkness) of the line the pencil will give you by applying average pressure to the paper. The 3H is "hard", meaning it will give a light line (unless you etch it into the paper by using too much pressure and if this is the case, you're using the wrong pencil), the HB is about "average" and the 4B will give you a dark line with average pressure applied. There's a full range of gradations to pencils, but the 3H at least should allow you to sketch out the general shapes without having to erase over it repeatedly... The lines will become insignificant when you color and "finish" the drawing. Good luck. ::end art lesson:: wink

All this talk of art has gotten me into thinking about my love of drawing/painting and how I almost NEVER do it (except when I'm taking a class in school.) I know it really fulfills me, and I've always wanted to spend some time just creating stuff, but I haven't. I used to use the excuse that I didn't have a space where I could, or that Jade would get in the way, etc. Now that she's going to start school, AND the fact that our garage has wonderfully Jackson Pollock-like paint splatters all over the floor (someone before us painted it up like that! yay!) and that I'll have time during the day with only one car in the two-car garage.. I'm really thinking about getting an easel and supplies!

Poppetta fawN have you got any further with anything arty? i know you keep thinking about it.. We have yet to go shopping for art supplies. We've been busy with other things on weekends since, so hopefully sometime this month we can get both this art supplies run and the fetching of fresh roasted green chilis to peel before they stop roasting them! They already stopped them up here, so we have to get them in Albuquerque when we go again on the.. 15th? I hope we have time before we come back up here to let another of Jason's brothers and family stay the night!
