Tristan nodded, that sounded like an idea. Not to mention he'd like to see the lab for just the sake of seeing it. He liked labs, he didn't know why but he liked them.
"That sounds like a good-" his words wer cut off as something collided with the back of his head and cause him to jerk forward a little and stumbled. He wasn't hit hard and it didn't really hurt but it had been sudden. He kept himself upright and rubbed the back of his head before he looked behind to see what it was that attacked him.
Mean while Hamlet had run after the stick. It had been a good throw, unofrtunately Tristan had gotten in the way and it didn't go as far as he had wanted it to. He picked it up anyway and pranced back to Gavin where, tail wagging, he dropped it again.

Remi turned back, startled, toward the direction where the stick had come from. Gavin stood there dumbfounded. He didn't mean to hit the friendly guy in the back of the head. Mommee was going to yell at him now, wasn't she.
Still with a deer in the headlights expression on his face, he said softly, "Sorry. Hamit want throw stick."
He pointed at the waiting puppy just for good measure. Ah yes, blame it on the dog. That always worked.
Remi blinked, a bit relieved that he hadn't done it on purpose. He even said sorry, which was a huge improvement. She looked at Tristan, concerned.
"You alright?"
She didn't know how hard Gavin could throw, or if it even hurt.

Tristan nodded slowly at first and then started to laugh. It was rather amusing if you thought about it and the way Gavin had said sorry and was blaming the dog was just too cute.
"Yeah I'm fine," he said as he tried to stifle his laugh and talk normally, it just made his voice sound kind of funny. "he is adorable."
Hamlet didn't understand. What had happened? And why wasn't the thrown again? Hamlet picked up the stick again and nudge Gavin before dropping it once more. Hopefully he would get the message.

Remi couldn't help but smile and look at Gavin with motherly pride. He was adorable. She motioned for Gavin to keep on following them toward Tristan's apartment.
Gavin was in even more shock. No yelling? No 'bad Gavin's? Today was a good day! Noticing that Hamlet wanted the stick thrown again, he gingerly picked it up. This time making sure he wasn't going to hit anyone, he threw it to the side.
"Stick go far!" he giggled proudly at himself.
"So have you met anyone else here at the compound?" Remi returned back to their converstaion.

Hamlet darted after the stick again, now that was more like it. He pieced it up and shook his head back and forth doe a moment before returning to Gavin chewing on the stick a bit before dropping it once more.
"Yeah, I was visiting a little while ago, to check things out before I actually moved in and I met someone named Carver uh..." Tristan furrowed his brow as he thought. Did he get a last name? He couldn't remember.
"I think he was on the top floor of the building by the garden," he said, more mumbling than actually speaking.
They reached the apartment building Tristan now called home at last. He opened the door when he got there and held it for Remi, Gavin and his dog. He liked to act like a gentalman sometimes.

"Oh so that's where Carver lives," she said in sudden realization. She nodded a thank you with a smile when he held the door open. "He said he lived in my building somewhere. He's right above me then."
Gavin had decided to play fetch up the stairs with Hamlet. Definitely a more fun way of climbing these things. He saw the open door and Mommee walking in. New place? He could just smell adventure in there. He threw the stick one last time inside the new place and followed Mommee in.

The place was full of boxes, boxes of every sort. New cardboard boxes with sloppy writing on them, old ratty boxes covered in packing tape. Not much of the floor was really visable but there seemed to be little walk ways between the boxes. The furniture was all what the apartment had come furnished with, save the big screen TV facing the sofa. Until he got his child, his TV would be his baby.
"Its a horrible mess, I'm sorry. I haven't been able to do much yet," Tristan said as he headed to the kitchen to retrive the ice cream. "make yourself at home."
He had eatten some ice cream ealier so he had pulled open a box with bowls and utensils. He pulled out three bowls now and three spoons and opened his fridge and pulled out the container of ice cream and started to scoop it into the bowls.
Hamlet charged into the apartment after the stick and ended up falling into the one of the boxes as he did. He liked these boxes they gave him some padding and were fun to chew on.

The apartment was very reminiscent of both Natalie's and Stephan's apartments. Boxes everywhere. Remi had to hold back a chuckle when she noticed the huge TV. Men and their electronics. However, being that the sofa looked comfortable, she decided to sit on that.
"Thank you again for inviting us here," she said politely, always feeling like an imposer. But how could she pass up free ice cream?
Gavin blinked at Hamlet when the puppy fell into one of the boxes. Now that looked like fun. Following suit, he jumped in after the puppy. See? Fun!

"Its no problem at all," Tristan replied as he finished with the ice cream. The container was empty now it would seem that he was out food. Oh well.
He quickly filled up Hamlets food and water bowls as well and then carefully balancing the bowls he carried them out of the kitchen and set them on the coffee table in between the couch and the TV, pushed one toward Remi and then took a seat on the floor.
He watched saw Gavin jump on the boxes and was suddenly very happy that he had put all his breakable stuff in his room so Hamlet wouldn't get into it.
Hamlet watched Gavin, as amazed as the little dog could be. He had never thought about jumping into the boxes on purpose. That was a great idea. The puppy bark happily and attempted to do it himself yet he couldn't jump too well.

Remi gladly took the bowl and spoon. She smiled,
"I've had so many people invite me over for food. I'll have to return the favor sometime."
With what, she didn't know. Her pantry consisted of instant, just-add-boiling-water items, snacks, and dried fruit. The refrigerator wasn't much better. Still, she might find something canned that would still taste edible. She took her first bite of rocky road ice cream. Her eyes widened,
"This is delicious!"
Gavin peered over the side of his box and noticed the ice cream. Oh the dilemmas for a toddler. Play in boxes with Hamlet? Or go eat yummy ice cream? Oh the decisions! He had an idea.
"Want ice cream here!"
Boxes and ice cream. Perfect compromise!

Tristan smiled and laughed a little. "People around here all seem really nice. When I met Carver he invited me up to his place for coffee." Hesmiled a little more at the comment about the ice cream, "rocky road is one of my favourites."
When Gavin demanded to have his ice cream over there he wasn't sure how to handle it. While he didn't care about ice cream on his things, it had chocolate in it and he knew Hamlet would get some and chocolate and dogs didn't mix.
He didn't know what to do. Hmm... maybe...
"You can eat it over there as long as you promise not to give any to Hammie okay?" he hoped that would work he didn't want to be the bad guy and make him sit out of the boxes.

"So far I've been given dinner, breakfast, dessert, lunch, and now ice cream."
Remi laughed a little before looking toward Gavin still hidden in a box. Gavin looked up toward the friendly man and smiled. Like he would even consider sharing ice cream goodness with a dog.
"I pwomise," he said, reaching up for his own bowl.
"Are you sure?" Remi asked in fear for Tristan's things. "I wouldn't want him to get ice cream all over your stuff."

"Yeah it'll be fine," Tristan said as he picked up the untouched bowl and got up so he could hand it to the boy in the box, "I'm pretty handy when it comes to getting stains out, I was the responsible one of my group of friends in university. Besides any of my things that can be ruined are in my room already."
Over to had handed over the bowl to Gavin he went back to his spot on the floor. "So..." He said trying to think of some topic of conversation, "what do you do for a living?"
Hamlet watch hungrily as the bowl was handed over and then watched Gavin, or what he could see of the boy in the boxes. He sat down tilting his head to the side, trying to look as cute as possible. It worked when he wanted table scraps from Tristan.

Gavin gladly took the bowl from the friendly man and started to chow down. He eyed Hamlet with a look of possessiveness. Being an only child, sharing had not turned out to be one of his strong points. But of course, the puppy looked cute. Instead of giving Hamlet ice cream (he had made a promise), he pet the puppy on the head again.
"Well, nothing nearly as interesting as what you said you do," Remi smiled sheepishly. "I'm an author. I sometimes write freelance for magazines, but most of the time I try to write novels."

"My job isn't that great," Tristan dawned a sheepish look, "At least not any more. I work at McDonalds now."
That was not something he was proud of so he decided to change the subject, her job was interesting enough. "A writer. Really?Have you published any books before? I read a lot in my spare time so it would be interesting to read something by someone I know."
That was not how Hamlet hoped things would go. Petting was nice but he wanted foot. So he let out a whimper. Maybe that would get him.
