Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is? Fenrir is the wolf god in norse mythology and Fenix is just a handle I have been using for a while. Two of my favorite names used together, basically. Your location (doesn't have to be exact): Oregon Your age: 16 How long you've trained for: Havent. The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for: See above. The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for: Lots of MA questions, eh? What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc). About 5'9" with no idea how much I weigh, not much likely. Long-ish brown hair blue eyes with a... Skinny build I suppose. You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are) Enough I suppose. Not very, but it gets the job done. Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc) I dont do much training. How often do you train. *Reiterates* Areas you'd like to improve on in your training. One-handed heart removal. Most valuable lesson learnt: If there is no fight you have already won. One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild. Uhh... Research anything you say before you say it? Other than that, Eat at Joes. Ambitions what are your current goals? Pass highschool, and maybe that one-handed heart removal thing.

Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is? Tveir is Icelandic for Two (yes, the number two). I picked it quite at random. I just had a book on the history of the indo-european languages lying around (a bit of a hobby of mine) and that particular book had a few pages comparing the first ten numbers of several languages. Feeling unimaginative and quite liking the sound of icelandic, also feeling it'd be a rarer occurence to find a native speaker of it than say finnish or russian, I picked a number that sounded alright to me. At first I thought about going with Fj, but realized gaia had many restrictions for what letters you were allowed to use in your username.
Your location (doesn't have to be exact): Norrland, Sweden, Europe
Your age: 19
How long you've trained for: About 3 to 3½ years in total, I think.
The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for: I've done Kuniba-Kai Karate for around 1½ years and then I did Kendo for another 1½ years or so.
The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for: Recently I have been unable to do martial arts due to a multitude of issues, something which not only has a horrible effect on my physical wellbeing (Damn, I feel weak these days), but also on my mood. Busses going at the wrong hours, incompetent instructors, school, dojos moving to more and more distant locations...
What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc). Height -185cm Weight - ca70 kg I have the ability to look slim no matter how much I eat or train.
You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are) There was a time when I could do five times as many laps around the gym than my classmates, but I've been slacking off this recent year, so at the moment I feel as if I could hardly do twice. I need to get out there and improve my lung-volume.
Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc) We did have gym-class in school, but for some reason the state does not feel it necessary at my current age. Otherwise I suppose I swim from time to time and walk frequently, but nothing organized.
How often do you train. As stated above, nothing organized these days, which is the main reason for my weakness. I'm not an organized individual and when I fail to keep my activities organized I end up slacking off much more than I ought to.
Areas you'd like to improve on in your training. At the moment - most of it, but if I would pick something out in particular I suppose speed is always nice. I do not have the potential for developing any serious weight to use to my advantage, but as long as you can be quick and accurate I may at least be able to strike fear into my opponent. Hey, psychological warfare is what has kept me out of trouble so far, so why not. Appart from that I'd love to improve my ability to take damage. When I'm punched with an open palm in the stomach I bend over and when my bro twists my arm I have a tendency to scream like a p***y.
Most valuable lesson learnt: Yelling really helps. Most swedes seem to have issues with the kiai, but it really, really helps. After learning to do the kiai properly I've successfully applied it into several other everyday chores with impressive results. By far the one thing I got from martial arts that's been been of the most use.
One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild. Don't do drugs!
Ambitions what are your current goals? To surpass my little brother, or at least even us out enough again to be able to fight on equal terms. His current strength is the greatest testament I have of the destructive restults of my recent slacking.

Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is?
Vincent Darkholme, For one, Vincent's latin roots lie in the meaning 'Merciful' whilst darkholme simply sounded neat.
Your location (doesn't have to be exact):
Texas, yeehaw.
Your age:
Eighteen.
How long you've trained for:
Around a decade, give or take a few months.
The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for:
Traditional Tae Kwon Do, ten years.
The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for:
Same as above.
What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc).
Oh I'm about six foot two, 175 lbs, I look almost rail skinny, but I'm quite densly muscled, Speed trainign rather then power lifting so I'm whipcord thin rather then heavily muscled.
You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are)
Fair, I dont have as much time to exercise as I used to, so I'm a slight bit out of shape comapared to my normal fighting trim.
Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc)
Tai Chi for balence and focus, and frequent Bicycling.
How often do you train.
Pretty much whenever I get the time.
Areas you'd like to improve on in your training.
My blocking, I rely on my innate toughness too much for my comfort, I can take a hit sure, but they start to a** up over time.
Most valuable lesson learnt:
NEVER underestimate small people.
One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild.
Kenshin is NOT a good reference.
Ambitions what are your current goals? Oh just to survive really, paycheck to paycheck you know.
MAJOR NOTE!
I DO NOT practice traditional TKD, so if you say 'all you know how to do is kick' I'll laugh in your face.

Oi, oi, oi! More questions to answer that I don't have answers to! Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is?[Q]. Well, long story short, I've been on the internet longer than I should be, and my nickname was SQ. I tried to sign up with that name, but somebody (Inactive, too) already had it. Well, Q's a nickname for my nickname, so I tried that, which was also taken. So I went with an old rp character, Ziko. Stayed with that name for half a year, then changed it to "Teh Q"(THE Q was taken). A few days later I realized how dumb of a name that was and fiddled around with different characters, inevitably ended up with this one. Your location (doesn't have to be exact):Georgia, the stupid state! Your age:According to Vegita(friend of mine), my mental age fluctuates between a philosophical 30 year old and an eccentric 11 year old. But screw that, I'm 17. How long you've trained for:on and off for around four years, resulting in a total time of a little over three years of actually doing anything. The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for:Kendo, kenjutsu, Iai, Iaistu(sp), tameshigiri, akeido, meditation, and very very weakly ninjutsu, for the period above, which would be a combined bit over 3 years. Kenjutsu style was Mu Shin Ryu, Of No Mind. The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for:Nothing currently, but see above. What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc).Picture hereYour fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are)Are you kidding me? Because of the on and off stuff, and how I am not currently doing anything but sitting my a** in a computer chair, I ultimately suck, and my stamina has gone PLOP. If there was anyone here who can't do anything but somehow wasn't bullshitting everyone, it's me. Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc)Horseback Riding...? Yeah, I think it's pretty evident I suck. How often do you train. When I was in the physical class, twice a week for one to one and a half hours (Oh yes, go laziness). Now, unless you count horseback riding, el ziltcho. Areas you'd like to improve on in your training.Balance and Stamina. I never really was that good at balance, but because I'm lazy and unhealthy, my stamina is basically nonexistant. The mind over matter thing only works for so long, you know? Besides, trying to convince yourself you're not tired, and you're not in massive pain, and you're not about to fall over drains my attention away from what I'm doing, especially if I'm trying to not be killed by this big ******** katana in my face. ;_; Most valuable lesson learnt:Get out of the way. If you think you can block, but are not sure, just get out of the way. Evasion is good. I almost lost my eye because I blocked incorrectly. I learned my lesson then. Either block flawlessly, or get the hell out of the way. One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild.Don't fool yourself. There is no gun defense. Swallow your pride and get the ******** out of there. Ambitions what are your current goals?Nothing dealing with martial arts, sadly. I would like to get an actual katana, folded steel and all, but who doesn't? Just because I know how to use it doesn't make a difference, I'd sooner cut my leg off before I was actually confident enough to practice with it alone without some supervision. But other than that. Video Editor. For now, making AMVs satisfies me, but I'd really like to edit stuff for a living.

Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is? Semira is a name of the main character in the novel I've been working on for the past 5 years. Fallen is the proposed title of the book.
Your location (doesn't have to be exact): Bowie, Maryland, USA
Your age: 21
How long you've trained for: BJJ since Feb 2005. Not long really.
What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc). Height - 5ft 7 in Weight - 120 lbs
Female, Dark brown hair, brown eyes, Half-Chinese/half- Caucasion, lean musculature.
You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are) In a moderate amount of shape, but my muscular and cardio endurance could be better. I can do the 150 crunches in the warm-up without getting too tired... but I'm not to the point where I am satisfied with my fitness ability.
I can hold a person of about the same height and weight around my body when standing (without falling) if I keep a good base, getting back up if I kneel down while holding them is another story.
Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc) I play DDR on work-out mood every so often (used to play all the time).. but that's about it.
How often do you train.
Mondays & Wednesdays: 2030 to 2200 Fridays: 2000 to 2100
Most valuable lesson learnt: Don't openly trust everyone; otherwise, you'll run the risk of letting in trouble.
One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild. Don't try to find out how tough your sparring partner is by being a hardass- you could hurt them or piss them off to the point that they will try to hurt you.
Ambitions what are your current goals? Finish getting my degree; get a full time job that pays decently with benefits; not lose my mind while my husband is deployed to Iraq; redesign my website; stay on schedule with my current webcomics/review gigs; and keep my fish alive.
I am a Forensic Science Major and write Anime and Manga reviews for a website called: Planet Exile. I also write for a webcomic called "Salient Caligation" and help edit a webcomic called: "The Lounge" and "Anathema".

Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is? Eel-Deknag-Ecurb. I'm a dislexic the opposite to my male alter-ego.

Your age: 20
How long you've trained for: 5 years
The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for: TKD 3 1/2 years, Muay Thai 11 months, Capoeira 3 months
The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for: None, self training at the moment in Muay Thai techniques(learned ones, not new ones...cept for elbows...elbows are pretty) and doing a bit of grapple training with a BJJ friend of mine.
What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc). Tan skin, brown eyes, brown hair, slightly almond eyes. I'm about 5' 8" and 145 lbs. I have a pretty muscularly toned body.
You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are) Right now, my cardio is lacking...big time.
Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc) Walking to work...and wrestling with my gf.
How often do you train. 2-3 times a week.
Areas you'd like to improve on in your training. Grappling.
Most valuable lesson learnt: Never mess with gangsters who have 10+ more people than you.
One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild. Resist the tricksters! Attract the ladies wink
Ambitions what are your current goals? I want to fight in the NHB circuits as well as learn a lot of other styles of my interest. Silat and Kali are probably next on my list. I'd also like to get into a BJJ studio if its not too expensive.
As you can see...I've made modifications to my other profile...more of an update than anything.

Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is? Squirrel of Doom, Squirrel because its a real life nickname with the "of Doom" added because Squirrel itself was taken.
Your location (doesn't have to be exact): Bonny Scotland
Your age: 21
How long you've trained for: In total around 5 years but with a massive break inbetween.
The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for: ITF TKD - 4 1/2 years
The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for: ITF TKD - 6 months
What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc). Short, slightly chubby, pale-skin, hazel eyes, red-hair.
You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are) Best I've been in a long time and getting better, stamina needas a lot of work but my strength and flexibility are pretty good.
Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc) Fitness kickboxing (wouldn't count it as a martial art, its just jumping about to music xp )
How often do you train. 3 - 4 times a week
Areas you'd like to improve on in your training. My reaction time when I'm sparring and my stamina.
Most valuable lesson learnt: Not to fear people bigger than me (which is pretty much everyone) - size doesn't always equal skill or power.
One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild. Don't pre-judge your opponent on how they look
Ambitions what are your current goals? To get my degree, find a job that doesn't make me want to kill myself, to get back into shape after my long break from training and hopefully to start ju-jitsu if the classes don't clash with what I'm doing currently.

ThunderFoot just invited me to join, so here I am, and here's my profile! biggrin My Gaia name, and why I chose it: "AxeFalador". 1.) In Capoeira (the art I study), we believe in a form of vital energy called "Axe" (there's supposed to be a forward accent above the "e") - pronounced "ah-shay". So I put that at the beginning of my screen name. Sadly, Gaia doesn't allow accents in screen names, so I just left it as "Axe" (without an accent over the e). 2.) In Capoeira, every student eventually receives a nickname, which could be inspired by anything at all. Mine is "Falador", meaning "Talkative Person", because at a recent workshop, I was asking a lot of good questions with good foundation. So I now use "Falador" in my Gaia name. I would greatly appreciate if everyone here would please call me just "Falador". 3nodding My Location: Nova Scotia, Canada My current age: 21 My birthdate: 13 Jul 1983 How long I've been training: I have been consistantly training for roughly 5.5 years. Previous styles: Uechi-Ryu Karate (a few months), Tae-Kwon-Do (a couple classes). I really didn't like these styles all that much, so I didn't stick with them at all. So I don't count them in how long I've been training. Current Style: Capoeira (about 5.5 years). Level: Yellow/ Light Blue corda (4th level in our system) Physical description: 5'8", 180 lbs., heavy-set (working hard to change that, though. I've lost 20 lbs. since the start of the year). Photo HERE! My fitness level: Moderate but increasing. Additional Training: None at the moment. Frequency of training: 1.5 hour classes on Tuesday and Friday evenings, plus the occasional time on a day of good weather, where I'll hop outdoors in front of my house and train a bit. Areas I need to improve: Core strength, endurance and reflexes. Most valuable lesson learned: All that is learned in Capoeira can be applied in one way or another to your life. My piece of advice to everyone else in the Anti-Bullshido Guild: Dp not judge Capoeira by what you see in movies or what you see at a Capoeira performance! If you really want to judge Capoeira, try some classes for about a month, first, then judge Capoeira by what you have learned in those classes. My current goal: To lose down to 175 lbs.

Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is? Gloglablyn. Long story short, this name is like destiny. It mysteriously was concocted at random during an online game and seemed to bring me luck. After that it became an inseperable part of me and has been with me since I was 15.
Your location (doesn't have to be exact): Texas.
Your age: 19.
How long you've trained for: 4 years.
The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for: I have been exposed to Tae Kwon Do for a short while, have boxed for a few months ( the gym was closed down), Bo Thai 1 year, JKD ( I like the fact that I have freedom with it, anything goes)3 years. The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for: Bo Thai, JKD.
What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc). 5 Ft 9 in, 187 lbs, Medium build.
You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are) Above average ( I am no couch potato!) Everybody else around me is a lazy guy so I can't really test myself except with my sparring buddy.
Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc) I strap 10-16 lb weights on my arms and legs and punch and kich accordingly. I like to run because I believe it is one of the best exercises for a human being and all athletes should not ignore it. I like to warm up gently with the weights and that in itself can be a good challenge. I prefer power lifting weight exercises ( I'm not a big fan of bodybuilding, I did that for a while and got fat!) I think weightlifting should be done to increase strength and power and not increase muscle mass to useless proportions.
How often do you train. At least three to four times a week.
Areas you'd like to improve on in your training. I wan't to increase flexibility in my legs to kick higher and with more ease. I also would like to have some good grappling and lock techniques for when my opponent's get close ( my buddy totally kicked the crap out of me with grappling, he threw me around like a limp fish!).
Most valuable lesson learnt: There are more ways to survive a fight than just winning it.
One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild. Every one, never let your urge to win drive you to self-destruction. A guy I knew once went on Anabolic Steroid cycles and paid the price.
Ambitions what are your current goals? I will be a History Teacher/Professor and hope to break my limits in martial arts ( I just want to be able to defeat any common criminal in combat).

Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc) weight training, light cardio
How often do you train. 2-3 times a week
Areas you'd like to improve on in your training. everything. specifically knife fighting
Most valuable lesson learnt: nobody EVER wins a fight in one move... unless your opponent is a quadraplegic
One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild. dont look for fights. thats stupid.

Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is? Well, I had considered using my usual handle, Shadow Magus, but Gaia billed itself as an RP forum, so I figured an actual name was better. Dyrnwyn, my secondary handle was already taken, so I used the name of my character in the Exalted (Pen and paper RPG) campaign I was playing at the time.
Your location (doesn't have to be exact): Hawaii.
Your age: Nineteen.
How long you've trained for: About 3 years, but the last year or so has been pretty lighty and spotty on the training.
The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for: I never practiced an official style. I learned and trained in a friendly martial arts club at my high school that just let people who did take martial arts come up and teach what they knew. There I learned some of the basic strikes all arts use, some Northern Mantis kung fu, judo, kendo, Chinese swordwork, and escrima. That was 4 years ago, and I practiced with them for 2 years. When my friend started writing his senior research paper about 2 years ago, he got into western swordsmanship. He's been studying the Codex Wallerstien and using his brother and I to practice the techniques on, and teaching us what he's learned.
The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for: These days I don't make it out to the former high-school club's get togethers, so it's just western swordsmanship, for the past two years.
What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc). 5' 11" ft. (180 cm), about 145lbs, brown hair, brown eyes, lanky build.
You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are) I haven't been able to do any real weight training or training other than technique and all-out sparring with shinat and foam wasters, so my cardio and stanima have gone way down from a couple years ago.
Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc) Used to lift, but I haven't had access to a gym rcently, or a partner to motivate me.
How often do you train. Don't really train anymore, spar in the backyard every week or three.
Areas you'd like to improve on in your training. Definately would like to start picking up on doing cardio and calinsthetics and get back into training.
Most valuable lesson learnt: Keep your damn guard up. I had a habit of dropping it to punch and took a hit in the solar plexus that had be sitting and trying to breathe for a bit.
One piece of advice you'd give fellow members of the bullshido guild. Don't write off Western swordsmanship as nothing more than barbarians swinging sharp pieces of metal at each other as hard as possible. That's the lens of Hollywood, not truth.
Ambitions, what are your current goals? Bring my cardio back up to my former track running days, and figure out exactly what I'd like to do with my life.

Well, I don't mean to be pretentious, as I'm not actually a member, but I plan to hang out here in any case. Your gaia name, why have you chose your gaian name to be what it is? Jinkside came from Jynx110, which I came up with when I was obsessed with Pokemon. Yeah, remember those 12 year-olds that could name all 150 Pokemon? In order? Me. Your location (doesn't have to be exact): East Wenatchee, Washington. ~47.4N/120.3W Your age: 17 How long you've trained for: 4 years The Styles you used to practice and how long you trained in that style/s for: Judo - 2 years The Styles you currently practice and how long you've practiced them for: Shudokan karate - 5 quarters And I took a quarter of medieval fencing. Does that count? What you look like in real life (just a description, height, weight, build etc). 5'8", 210 pounds. Let's just say I wear a size 6 gi and leave it at that. You fitness level (how well conditioned you feel you are) On a scale of 1-10, somewhere between a 3 and a 5. I don't train enough to really know. I know I'm out of shape, though. Additional Training (weights, running, yoga etc) Someone else mentioned DDR, though I wouldn'tve thought of it... I usually average about How often do you train. Twice a week. I practice kata whenever I'm standing still for more than a minute. Areas you'd like to improve on in your training. Sparring. We never get to do it. Most valuable lesson learnt: Landing with your smallest knuckles on a full-force punch doesn't hurt. At first. One piece of advice you'd give fellow member of the bullshido guild. If it hurts, ice it. Ambitions what are your current goals? To beat Matsuri Japan on heavy again. It's a hard song.
