He followed closely enough behind to assure her she could go a bit faster if she wanted to.

Aurora felt Raerin come closer so she began to actually trot. It was strange to her walking in such a fashion but she seemed to be getting better as long as she didn't consentrate on it, she could walk with ease. THe view also was startling differnt. Aside from becoming a dog and her vision not as good, but everything looked extremly taller. SHe made turn at the corner and suddenly the scnet of what ever she had been smeeling before cameon very strong. "Do you smell that?" she said doubling back so she was next to Raerin. Her fur was starting to pirck on her neck.

"Yeah," he said. "...It smells weird...powerful... and kinda familiar, like something that hasn't been around in forever but... it's back..." ((If you haven't already thought of it [and I hope you haven't] it's the smell of magic, which anything with a senstive nose can literally smell in this world razz ))

Aurora took a another sniff. "Yeah, I don't know but to me it smells old as well, but definatly powerful and familiar," SHe said giving it a little thought.
((I hadn't thought of that! So can the magic be trapped or what does it do, or am I going to find out soon?))

((Well, I think of magic as more of an ambient prescence, something that's in the breathable air where it exists... As for what it does, consider that the transformed half-elves and elves still retain some traits of being partially or wholly elf, such as having the ability to use magic, hmm? And then, the fact that magic hasn't been around for some two or three generations, and so how to control it has obviously been forgotten...)) "Which way is it coming from?" he said, and then sniffed a few more times. "Everywhere? Nowhere?" He started running around in a circle like he was chasing his tail, trying to find the source of that smell. It wasn't much use, but nor did he stop.

AUrora sniffed the air again and then watched Raerin run around. "You know I think it's coming back from behind us, down the street," she said but as soon as she sadi this and truned then it smelledlike it was coming from up ahead. "I think it's everywhere," shedecided and turned back towards the direction she was heading.then a thought struck her. "You don't think it's poisenous do you?"

He stopped with that news that it was all around. "To be honest I think our instinct would tell us if it was poison, or we'd be feeling some kind of effect by now..."

"Yeah..." Aurora said her voice trailing off and she began to walk again thinking about the scent in the air.
(I think there is a need for some excitment)

((Sure, why not..)) They walked a few more blocks, and then suddenly there was a loud growl from an alley to their right. Raerin turned that way and saw a huge grizzly bear...or was it..? It looked..almost... partially human? It just growled at him and looked like it was going to attack either him or Aurora.

Aurora heard the growl and turned her head. "Woah!," she exclaimed and just as quickly her fur all along her back became a ridge her tail was curled, ears back. Growling she stood there and stared at the bear like thing. Something in the back of her mind was telling her to back away slowly, but waves of anger and agression kept pushing the voice back. "A bear?" she managed in between growling and a gasp for air.

The creature growled and nearly roared back at her, not at all responding to the spoken language. Raerin realized what was happening, she hadn't actually experienced the general urge of instinct before. He bumped her slightly hard on the side with his muzzle and said "Try to control yourself. I don't think he...she...it can, and if it attacks we'll have to be in control of ourselves."

Aurora almost turned around and snapped at Raerin but held back. Instead she put her tail down and lessend her growling. She was begining to feel a little more calm. "Ok, So now what? Back a way slowly?" Aurora asked.

"No, we'll probably have to fight it. But letting instinct take control will only lead to becoming they way it is," he said. The creature was starting to advance toward them. Raerin bowed slihgtly but it ignored that.

"Right," Aurora said she braced her self. Her tail began to curl once again and in attempted to keep her jaws shut she bared her white fangs.

The creature roared and then charged straight at them. Raerin jumped to one side, and hoped that Aurora would go the other way. That would put them at an advantage. Sheesh, this thing was a lot bigger than it had looked before...
