I actually have a book on demons, the more I read it, the less I believe in them. From the description of they're appearance (and actions) if you ever ran into a demon, there would be no question about it. They look pretty weird

If that is, in fact, how they manifest. Demons are intangible. Odds are, they can take any shape they deem fit if they materialize.

Plus, they're more fond of possessions, from what I've heard.

Meh, from what I've studied on them, most of them don't do possession. I have ran into a few that do though. The kitsune does, and the windigo (sorry if I spelled that incorrect), those are the only two off the top of my head that I can think of.

The wendigo isn't a demon, or a spirit. A wendigo is supposedly a person who consumed human flesh to survive. Native American tales tell of a horrible beast with a heart made of ice that would drag unsuspecting people off in the dead of night to devour their flesh.

Actually from what I've heard it's a that a human gets possessed with this certain being. I guess it happens in certain unpopulated place where people got lost. The wendigo as it's called will start talking to one of them. they'll think they're going crazy. The being will talk to them about how hungry they are. (both the person and the wendigo) It convinces them to eat their companions and from there starts to take over their body. Because they're eating the human flesh and also because the body is being taken over by another being, the body becomes distorted. Eventually the wendigo takes over completely. It isn't a demon either though. It's supposedly a creature from another dimension. It can only enter this dimension by entering a human body and it must eat human flesh in order to stay in the body else it will die.

Demons are not real.. well,in my beliefe... so it was late, just in your head... but onthe demon note, there are just VERY bad/lost spirits

NOTE:i know some believe in deomns,i was just clearing things up from my own veiw,so just saying i wasnt trying to trash anyones belives.

I respect that is your belief. I also know other people believe the same thing. Some bad/evil spirits are mistaken for demons, and I think that may be what causes this belief. I also know there are other beings as well that are mistaken for demons. I've even heard of a case where a nasty angel was explained off as a demon cause everyone expects that all angels are good. There are demons though. Just cause you come across them doesn't mean they don't exist. 3nodding

Demons can and do shape shift. As I believe it has already been said, not all of them posses. Others specialize in possession. It really varies.

As for the book, a book may or may not be a reliable source. The book may be a collection of what people claim about demons. Seeing as there are many misconceptions about what demons are, that would make it very unreliable. If the book is one that is supposedly written from personal experience and knowledge, I should very much like to read it if you can tell me the title.

Well one of my friends died during a exorcism, I was there too witness it, very gruesome.

I would rather not go into detail due to the fact that I hate talking about it.

I am very sorry for your loss. I know how it feels to lose a friend. Exorcism is only something someone who knows what they're doing should do and only when they're completely ready. Even then if someone is possessed it's often better to use other methods rather than risk harming them in the process. Trying to force out a negative entity is a violent battle.

I've never encountered a demon before, (and I hope I never have to) but I have encountered omens before. Bad ones. I used to live on an island in Japan called Okinawa and it was very haunted due to all the deaths during WWII. During our seven year stay, we lived in a house that had been there for about 50 years. (Though they teared it down.) I would see in standing in the cornor of a room, it was a black cloaked, hooded figure and only his red eyes shone. But I'd only see him in the early hours of the morning like around from 12-2. I know it didnt like me.

Anyway, after about eh, four years in that house we finally moved into a nicer house on base, (the last one was on base too). It was winter and I can rememeber constantly being drawn to my window. I had also just gotten into vampires at the time and wondered if it were a vampire, after some thought, I'm beginging to have my doubts about it.

Honestly I dont now what was at my window but after winter subsided and summer begain, the presence and urge left and I havent felt it since.

The other one however, I havent really been terrified of in a while, though I do wonder if it's trying to follow me. I think I also might of invted another spirit in to my life due to my mixing in Wicca last year. My friend was aiding me in it though, her mother and herself have their own coven, and she was helping me.

Since the whole thing though (and I never casted a bad spell) I've felt a presence in my room. I've already sealed the room from bad energy to keep it all out, and even bought a cruifix for extra messures. (This, I believe, keeps the demons away ) But I still feel an extra presence in the room but it's not bad. It's very wierd.

The first being could have been lots of things. As for the second, if it doesn't feel bad it may be good to have around. It may very well be there to help out.

I have one that happened to my dad and myself.

When I was eight my great-grandmother gave me a small mirror with the image of Jesus on the corner and said it was for my "protection." We never found out what she meant by that.

We hung the mirror across from my bed on a hook that turns upward.

About a week after getting the mirror dad said he felt something in the house and sent me outside. He later said it felt demonic. After a few hours he told me to come back inside and said he had gone through the house with the bible and told me to keep an eye out for anything odd.

When I went to bed that night I found my mirror had been smashed into pieces on the floor. Dad swore that he didn't touch the mirror and since the hook pointed upward the only way to move the mirror would be to physically lift it up and drop it.

Wow. That's creepy. O_o;. Breaking mirrors isnt good is it >>;

Actually breaking mirrors may at times be good. Many mirrors can act as portals. Depending on the mirror and more specifically it's shape- it may allow bad thing, good thing, or a mixture of both to come through. Also, a entity may have been possessing the mirror, or been attached to it. Then there are some mirrors into which things have been sealed.
So long story short, the mirror may have been allowing something bad in, but when it broke (probably due to your father going around with a bible), it had no way in anymore.
Alternately, it may have been a good spirit trapped in the mirror making it angry. When you father went around, the mirror may have broken freeing the spirit which would have calmed down once released. there are other options too, but I don't wanna keep going on...

If it was a demon you would know. from the sounds of your story it does not sound like a demon. Demons have no mercy they will hurt you and your family whatever way they can. Also they tend to show up in the form of human spirits. There is a coldness to them You will never want to encounter one! They unlike most spirits are not bound to an area.

Please, not all demons are the way you have described. Not only can they be merciful, but some can be downright sweet. I know one that prefers to have a chibi-like form and likes to sit on my shoulder and sing about rabbits eating candybars..... It's actually unlikely for a demon to take on the form of a human spirit. And if they do there it's not a completely human form. Not all demons have a coldness to them either. And actually it's less common for an entity to be bound to an area or object. I don't recommend trying to meet a demon, but if you come across one (an actual demon, not something you think is a demon but isn't) not all of them are as horrid as they're made out to be.

*takes deep breath* I have a demon or a poltergiest in my room. That thing scares the hell out of me, and it is very powerfull gonk

For months now, there has been a...dark presence, in my room. I have felt that I was not welcome in my own dwelling, My best friend refused to go into that room, feeling ice go up her spine and something trying to force her out. I could feel eyes boring into the back of my head, willing me to get out. Red flashes could be seen around my room as well. I could never face my television at night, for immages of somethings face twisted in anger would always appear. After a few months of this, I finally decided to move out of my room and into my living room.

After a month of being on the couch each night, I finally got fed up with not being able to be in my own room, so I got my friend Elise to see if she could go speak with whatever it was. She is stronger at seeing things like this than I am, so I thought she could speak to it. Was that a big mistake. As we walked into the room, chills crawled through our spines as she looked around. 'Thi...this is bad.' she told me. ''I have come across many evil things, but this is the worst I have come across. I can see it bouncing all around your room, its a blood red color. We need to get out of here, NOW.'' Her orriginal plan was to see if she could talk to the spirit, to see if she could ask it why it hated me so. There was no way that she was going to talk to that thing.

Letting the information that something evil was in my house sink in, we rushed into my living room, feeling wierded out and a bit scared. My mom was at work and my sister had gone on vacation with her youth group, leaving us alone with whatever it was. We tried to stay calm, though it didnt work well when you could feel the weight of something you couldnt see press against your lungs, the air that normally smelled of warmth, being tainted with something sour.

Elise froze, not being able to move, she looked at me in shear terror. "It's trying to talk to me!" Elise had a look of terror on her face which I soon copied. I could feel its dark presence in the room, making the warm air go cold. We were sitting in my living room, frozen with terror for about three hours.

After about an hour of freezing our butts off, we went into my kitchen to make some soup. After the water began to boil, we could hear scratching coming from the walls. We both froze and looked at each other. We ran back into my living room, putting warm clothes on in hopes of chasing the cold away. My dog was sitting on the ground with Elise, I was on the couch with a bunch of blankets around me.

I felt something brush against my foot, like two very cold fingers. I dashed out of the house, and so did Elise. We ran down my street and we felt safer out there at three in the morning then we did in my house. We walked back to my house after about twenty minutes and we could still feel its presense.

A day after that event, another happened.

While I was in the shower, Elise was outside with Jake, my 8 month old puppy, jumping on my trampoline while he ran around like a hyper puppy does. After he run undernieth the trampoline, a loud metal clang went off, like hitting a flag pole with a hammer. Nothing had moved in the backyard, and Elise was kind of freaked out, so she tried to go inside. Jake came out of no where, barring his teeth at her and growling. His pupils were very tiny, almost not there, even though it was a dark day. Elise is one of Jakes favorite people, so he would never do something like that to her. He ran around a few times, always coming back to her, barring his teath and growling. As soon as it came, Jake was fine, acting really scared. So he and Elise ran up to my deck just as I got out of the shower.
After that, I spent the night at her house, and we didnt see the malevolent spirit untill a few days later. This time, it wasnt Elise who was with me when the spirit showed itself, it was my Best friend, Loryn.

I had just had a get together with a bunch of my friends. Two of them, Loryn and Marilee wanted to stay the night. So I asked my mom and she let them. That night, we could feel something in the air. I refused to go into my room, I could feel 'it' again. Dark shadows moved around my living room, so we decided to go outside. We were jumping around, untill I started to twitch. I have a twitch, that my friends are convinced is terrets I know that it isnt, however. I twitch whenever a spirit is near me, I can always feel if its good or bad though. I was scared out of my mind, I knew that whatever had freaked me and elise out was back.

My friend Loryn told my that she felt it, her gut clenched. Marilee, however, didnt sense anything. She was almost mad at us for stopping the fun that we had. Soon after, she started to feel sick and fell asleep. Loryn and I decided that we wanted some soup, the idea was discarded though because i could hear 'it' trying to talk with me, our cuppord is really close to my room. So we sat there and discussed it. Marilee then woke up and told me that she believes that there are only Angels and Demons in this world. You need to stop paying attention to the Demon, treat it like an annoyance, if not, its winning. I was so angry when she said that, I just went to bed.

Whatever it is hasent shown itself for a few days, so I know that I am due for a visit soon...... crying crying gonk crying crying gonk

*Hugs* Dang. I am so sorry. That is super freaky. OO

I'm not going to be pretend to be an expert but I will give my two cents.

At my old house, there used to be shadowy figures that would follow me. I remember being a child, able to see them as they tried to get closer to me. Well, several years later, we moved. It was right after my dad had died. I displayed this lamp that he had helped me make for school in my room. The problem was, everytime I went near it, it felt bad. I felt sick and scared. I finally went over to it, holding something (i don't remember what), planning on finding out what was going on. A black blur came at me and I was knocked over. It felt like something ripped through me and I lay there gasping, semiconscious for two hours.

However, I've also had pleasant experiences with demons. One has decided to 'guard' me. This demon is very nice although does play with possession when really bored. -_- Oh well.

and angels are particularly evil, some of them have twisted ideas on
judgement.

I I would see in standing in the cornor of a room, it was a black cloaked, hooded figure and only his red eyes shone.

That's very similar to an experience I had when I was about four. At that time my the foot of my bed was about three feet from the closet [which is where I saw it] and I had a nightlight in the socket next to it.
Anyways I saw pretty much the same thing you did it was a black figure with red glowing eyes. The strange thing was that the only visible features, even with the nightlight, were the eyes. About four years later my sister saw the same thing and there was no way she could've known about it because 1) she was only a baby when I saw it and 2) we never talked about it.

I do remember seeing it Letta, I remember that it looked to me like it was wearing a top-hat and a long coat, so really all you could see were the eyes...
