What is the Thespian Troupe, exactly? I've never heard of it before.

Electryone What is the Thespian Troupe, exactly? I've never heard of it before. it's like the national honor society for thespians. you have to earn points through drama activities (crew, makeup, cast, stage managing, tech) to stay in, and you also have the option to subscribe to "dramatics", a magazine just for the drama people. it's a VERY OFFICIAL drama club. blaugh

How does one get involved with this Thespian Troupe of which you speak? I've never heard of it. Is it available at every school?

If your school has one, you just participate in stuff and each time you participate you get Thespian points (or hours, depending on the troupe) and when you get a certain number of points or hours, you can get inducted.

Our school just reinstated their Thespian Troupe after 20 years of inactivity. I'm almost a member, just need about one more play under my belt.

I know our school has it, but I'm not really sure how or if I even am allowed to be in it because I'm a freshman. sweatdrop Barb confused me on that one. She said something about it being only for seniors during our production of Dracula. sweatdrop

Yay for Thespian Troupe 1762! I was both inducted and elected "Most Promising Thespian" freshman year. I also have the distinction of not burning out the year after recieving aforementioned award. Unfortunately due to our drama teacher's strict adherence to school rules, we don't do much for induction besides the standard honor society candle lighting ceremony. But for the awards portion we usually have a costume theme to dress for.

Last year, the award for "Most Supportive" was a bra. This year it was a jock-strap ^^

wow, you're inductions sound so fun! in our troupe anyone can join at any part of the year and all they have to do is pay their fees and buy a shirt. we don't even have inductions! but we are one of the best troupes in our state! straight superiors for 5 years in a row, critics choice at least once for 8 years!

I should be in this group. But our director is kinda... ADD.. and doesn't keep track of the points unless they are actors. But really.. she DOES have ADD.. i swear.

She should have the board members keep track of the points (or something) then.

Pharaoh Ramases We were all forced to become mimes for the day. Which is actually better than what I was forced to do (but am not allowed to say) for my Alpha Psi Omega induction. I had to too! we had to whiten our faces and wear all black. I took around a sign and everything *poor little mime* Kitsune Ookami Any other Florida Thespians out there? I am! district 5!
