Indy cocked his head to the side as she grinned and spoke. "Well, at least that's a good thing. It..is a good thing, right?" He amused himself by wagging his tail and picked up his pace even more, to a slow lope. All four feet lifted and fell to the ground in perfect rhythm, matching the beating of his heart as the exersize did him good. It was quite warm outside, but being under the shade of the tree had cooled him down enough that a bit of a romp to the next shade tree wouldn't be a bad thing.

Damalis giggled, once again matching his pace with ease. "Of course it's a good thing." She gave him a smile and raced forward, paws beating against the ground in a fast rhythm beat, pushing forward with a faster speed. "Race you there!" She yelled out behind her, still lookeng forward, eyes dead set on the tree that grew closer with every bound.

His tail streamed out behind him like a flag as he bounded after her. Laughing, the young male sped to catch up. The smell from the rubbish bug was fading fast, and it felt good to stretch his legs again. Been a while since he willingly ran for the fun of it. There was the occasional 'run like hell to save his tail' that he had to do, for various reasons, most of which he liked to blame on Badiri's big mouth getting them into trouble. But running just to run, that was an opportunity that didn't always present itself in a rather pleasant light.
"Better watch out, I'm catching you!" He called out to Damalis, trying to squeeze out every ounce of speed he possessed.

Damalis's heart raced as she pushed forward, her ears folded back on her head and her tongue lolling out of the side of her mouth. Her lips curled in a wide grin and her eyes squinted against the wind that rushed in her face. She felt light rooted as she ran, but slowly began to slow-- Though she could hardly notice. This was much too enjoyable to notice.
She turned her head to the side to notice Indy close on her trail and growing nearer still. "No waaay!"

Indy pushed his head and neck out farther, lengthening his form and shortening the distance between the top of his body and the ground. His own tongue lolled out, and he tried to muster every burst of energy and speed he could. Oh that tree was so close now, he could smell it.
Catching up to Damalis, Indy let his pace slow up slightly so that he remained at her side, teasing her slightly by varying himself, first an inch ahead, then two behind her. "I've almost gotcha!" He said as he let himself drift back a couple more inches. Oh the tree was so close now...

Just a bit further...
There was a skip in her step that nearly caused her to flip over forwards, but with quick thinking she regained control and pushed forward as hard as she could. Feeling that Indy grew nearer and fell back again confused her a little so she looked back in his direction, a brow raised. "Aw... Come on, I know you didn't do that on perpose." She teased back at him, but as she looked forward, the tree was a little closer then she had seen it last. Her legs locked straight as she skid to a stop, spraying dirt and sand in all directions.
(( I'm off to a friend's cabin for the next 6 days... So I'll reply again when I get home. sweatdrop ))

Not being the brightest crayon in the box at that very moment, Indy had been watching the chocolate colored femme, instead of where he was going, and when she skid to a stop, he had to create some rather evasive manuvers or he was going to end up in a heap on top of her. Though, would that have been a bad thing?
Leaping to the side, Indy's feet slid in the sand, gaining little purchase in the soft giving ground. He toppled over and slid to a stop, laying on his shoulder, his face grinning nonchalantly, as if he'd planned the whole thing. His front feet were crossed in front of each other in a sort of 'so, what's up' manner. "Mmmm shade... Care to...sit for a spell, m'lady?"

Finally gaining good footing, Damalis watched as Indy slid past her. More sand was kicked up, she shook her head and she blinked a couple times as her eyes watered, irritated by the dirt that flew up with the cloud of sand.
As the air cleared, Damalis opened her eyes to see Indy laying back under the shade and she began to laugh as she padded to his side. "Of course." She flopped on the ground next to him, still a little winded from the run. "Haven't done... That in a while." She panted, grinning widely, head resting on her paws.

"Lets just....make sure we leave any bugs alone this time, so we don't have to do it again quite so soon. Though I must admit, it was quite fun." Letting his own tongue loll out, the young male wild dog grinned right back at Damalis. "Hmm... so, we've covered our pasts, our family, and what we want for now, kind of. But I still hardly know you." Winking at her, Indy continued. "So, what's your favorite time of day? Mine's dusk. You can see the sun fading out in those gorgeous reddish orange colors, the stars and the moon start peeking out, unless there's the occasional rain shower, and the musical insects start chirping as if they have good sense. Really makes for good music to fall asleep by. Though, I don't think I actually sleep, at that hour, I'm more...prowling. For food, or to haunt my cousin, but usually prowling none the less." He chuckled a bit.

Damalis nodded, not in any mood to go off squishing anymore bugs in the near future, and one run a day is good enough. "I always enjoy a good run, but racing just makes it all the better." Her tail thumped on the ground lightly and she thought a moment about his question. "Hm... That's definately not a question asked very often... But I would probably have to say the same. I've always enjoyed a good sunset. You never get a more beautiful painted sky then at sunset." She nodded again, memories filling her head of beautiful moments in her travels where the sun hit the clouds at the perfect moment, turning them several different shades of red yellow and pink. "I also like the feeling where you know you can sleep. Sleeping is always a good thing." She laughed. "I've had some pretty crazy dreams in the past."

"Eh, crazy dreams are only crazy if you let them be. They can teach you a lot of stuff about yourself, or the person you're thinking of, if you let them." Flicking a bit of sand at Damalis, the chocolate wild dog grinned. "Swims are usually good after a race like that, but I'm afraid I don't know where the nearest swimming hole is. Probably a ways out there, and at this point I'd rather stay here." Chuckling, he looked around again, curious as to why he hadn't been harassed by a certain family member yet. Could he actually have gotten lucky enough that she threw herself off a cliff?
Flopping over on his side, Indy flapped his tail against the ground, allowing a small cloud of dust and sand to raise up around him. "Ain't nothing like a dirt bath to make a person appreciate life, is there?"

Damalis nodded. "Ah yes, but you never know when a totally random dream will pop up all of a sudden." She shrugged, finally regaining her breath lost in the run. Her ears perked up curiously, picking up on all the little sounds chirping up around the two wild dogs. "Hm... A swim does sound nice... Though I dont think it's going to cool down enough a comfortable journey there." She chuckled. "Besides, the shade is nice."
With a quick jerking motion of a paw, Damalis flicked up another small cloud of sand at Indy jokingly. "I'de have to agree. Dirt really brings out the best in people."

Indy sneezed at the sudden onslaught of sand and dust that hadn't been kicked up by him, but by her. A wolfish grin slid across his face and he pawed some more sand over towards Damalis. "Indeed, the very best." Hopping up in front of her, his tongue lolling out, his front half crouched to the ground and his rear end pointed up and waggling around, Indy pounced the sand in front and beside her, kicking up just a little, trying to keep from sending it directly into her face, but trying to cover her in sand none the less.

Damalis looked up as indly jumped to his paws so suddenly, but laughted as he lifted his rump in the air. She mimicked his stance, tail wagging wildly. She pawed at his feet and gave his nose a quick playful lick before bounding to his side and kicking up more dirt. "Indeed." She repeted, a bouncy spirit in her tone. Her ears flattened as she shot him a humorous grin.

((No problem, I get that from time to time too xd More often than not, actually lol))
Indy was taken aback by the sudden lick to his nose. His eyes crossed and he paused in his antics long enough to stare at his nose. Reddened eyes widened for a moment before narrowing in a rather devious way. Pouncing back into his rather comical position, rump waggling in the air, Indy pawed back at her and hopped from side to side, stirring up the dust around them. Reaching out with a paw, he tapped her side and snickered. "Guess what..." He bounded off to the edge of the shade the tree provided, before calling out, "you're it!"
