mipcy This is my second year playing oboe, but it's my....second instrument, I guess. Flute and picc are my first. But I only play oboe in the symphonic band when the spring semester rolls around. Almost the same for me. Oboe is my second instrument, and this my second year, but I normally play one of the saxophones, and oboe is just my concert band instrument. Jazz Band=Bari Sax, Marching Band=Alto Sax, and I would like to learn a brass instrument sometime, as in French Horn.

whee I play the oboe! Or am supposed to. It freaking broke. And it'd be fine.. if I were in my schools concert band. But i'm in Symphonic Wind Ensamble, and our music is good, but crazy for the oboe. So I can play middle range.. but that's like, it. So I must get the oboe fixed. I've been practicing flute in place of it at home, but switched to clarient((My main instrument)) for the time being, because we have an evaluation in three days, and I dont want to go in there playing flute all crappy.

When I first started playing in my school band I played the flute but I didn't like it so in the next year I switched to the oboe and this is my fifth year playing it. I hate 16th notes............semi-randomish.

I don't play just flute and oboe. I play one of the saxes (either bari or tenor) for jazz band, and mallets in the indoor drumline. But I definantly prefer c intruments.

Ahh. Well, my school is so small, we only have one band. So, I have no choice. I do really love my oboe, though.

This is my 4th year on Bassoon. Yeah... I think I'm pretty good at it, I made first chair all-county last year. We only have one football game and then concert season, which kind of sucks cause we have to try out for symphonic band and all-county blech. Well I have a competition today, so bye-bye

Mine just get old, and don't sound as good from use, so I am fairly lucky. All of my reeds are still usable, but not much more.

Yeah. I like it better than the oboe, it's a lot easier to do vibrato on for me. Also, since it's in the same key, the French Horns made me an honorary horn player. XD And in most of the stuff where there is an English Horn part the part usually has a solo, which means I get a lot of exposed parts.

Well, our school is stupid, and doesn't have an English Horn player. We always transpose the solos when we play with a piece that even has a part for it. Our band is podunk.
