It would be great to have them in the Guild.

Hairy Preist prety much sumed up my feelings on most of the topics you listed. PLEASE if you want something TOTALY ask for it ^-^ I want people to get what they want. Nobody is staunching anything.
About the rules.. I purpousefully made then vauge and loose because we are small and there isn't really very much to control anyways. So far I haven't baned anyone and I haven't needed to ban anyone. I have given warnings.. but only to one person. The fewer rules there are in my oppinion the fewer things people are able to break. Everyone is free to post anything they want at any time as long as it isn't purposfully mean and not a dupilication.. that prety much sums everything up.. I expect people who are 13 and older to be able to take care of themselves within those perameters (yes I know this is hopeful) Right now things are very open and I'd like to keep it that way for as long as possible. ^-^;; I wasn't aware there was anything wrong with that. If something does go wrong however.. its important to tell me about it! I hope that satisfyes you.. Really I do...

If anything, Donate the money to the Mule to use for future contests. That way if say, you really want to offer a large prize, but don't have the cash to make people pay it with entrance fees, you have it done and viola!
Or better yet, get the guild mule some guild to buy some clothes... I might suggest a "doctor's" outfit.. as irony and something for it to cosplay as during your guild balls.... shoudl you persue it.

We can all have a laugh together and enjoy each other's company. I like this guild cause everyone is so friendly.

Roobarb I also agree with having a fanfiction subforum (seperate from pictures/RPs me thinks) because I know there are a few fanfiction writers in the guild now and I'd like to be able to read their stuff other than just when they're brave/proud enough to post a link in a thread. I'm actually not so keen on the idea of a fanfic-specific subforum, mainly because I don't think there will be that much usage (though I would be happy to be proven wrong). My feeling is that we should just expand the purview of one of the existing subforums (my preference would be the RP forum, because RP's are, in a sense, a form of shared fanfiction). Should it later become apparent that mixing the two was a bad idea, it would always be possible to create a new subforum, and have the Crew move the relevant topics over. But that's just me, so feel free to disagree.

The only reasons I said a seperate one were 1) To encourage people to specifically write stories (if there's an empty forum I think that people will fill it up... though I could just be being hopeful) and 2) To stop any confusion eg. people writing in people's fanfictions thinking they are RPs or not writing in RPs because they think they are fanfictions, etc. I mean I think it would be fine to have stories in the RP thread, I just think it would be better to have a special writing thread. You could also then encourage broader forms of writing in it (poems maybe? or posting reviews of episodes perhaps) as well as having the forum specially designed for them. For instance, the idea of 'summing up' RPs earlier could be applied to reviewing stories - having summaries in a sticky so that people can give opinions on the stories without messing up any (continued) writing. This could all happen in the RP forum of course. But can I suggest that if you do that then you change it's name so that newcomers know that it's for all forms of writing? And also have some *shudders* rules. Well, maybe just guidelines.

Can we have a subforum for episode talk? Then people can open threads about one episode and then sooner or later we could have a thread for every episode depending on who opens it.

Hi there everyone. I would first like to say that I'm a new member and only been lurking for about a week or so. That being said I would like to suggest a legend of sorts. For instance, it has been discussed in this thread that there are specific doctor threads already made. I have personally seen threads dedicated to the newer episodes. What you can do is classify them so that they become "official threads" and members can find them easier. For example: [EPISODE] - For official episode threads [DOCTOR] - Specific doctor discussion threads [GAME] - Official game threads [FF] - For individual fanfiction threads [ART] - For individual art submission threads [RP] - Threads for each ongoing and new RP
They would look something like this: [EPISODE] 2-0 "Christmas Invasion" (can even include the airdate) [DOCTOR] Tom Baker/4th Doctor [GAME] Word Association If such a system were implimented then you would be able to have a "Creative" subforum that included art, fanfiction, and RPs without much confussion. People can have their own galleries or theme art threads can be made for contests and such. I would love to see something from crafters as well. Have them share projects and experiences with everyone. In my opinion, this wouldn't diminish creativity or discussion. If anything I think it would gather people and make past discussions more readily available. People would be able to see if their favorite doctor or episode was being represented, and if not then they could open a thread for them.

Having legends in the title of threads might not be such a bad idea, although most of the "Official" threads lately were started by regular members, and retroactively declared official to stop duplicates from sprouting up. A Guild-sanctioned set of legends is certainly something worth considering, though.
As an aside, seffy's comment in the 'School Reunion' thread was right... the Crew really ought to create a new official thread for episode discussion before the story actually airs to preempt the formation of multiple threads. A little something for the new Mods to think about (whoever they may be).

It's very encouraging! smile I agree wholeheartedly with creating an official thread before the episode airs. I was going to add it to my post but I thought that it was a bit long already. What I've seen done is that one of the moderators makes the thread and then locks it until the show has finished airing. With past threads, even if they were started by members, moderators can change the titles of them. Adding polls asking members to rate the episode is also a good idea so that people can not only earn gold but get a sense of what the community as a whole feels about the progression of the series. Spoiler information should also be addressed. People are usually good about following new formats. It just has to be done consistently.

Ok now that I'm done writing a dozen papers, signing my live away to art, and sleeping it all off.. I like the designation thing.. but I'm not sure I would like to make it a hard and fast rule.. so much as a guidline... something that people can do in order to keep things more tidy IF they choose. As I've said before The less rules you have to bread the less people get into trouble. I also think I might make the RP subforums into gameing forums as well. Sort of a joint thing. (I didn't even think of it when I started this guild.. you guys are so creative!) Also I think a fanfiction subforum is a good idea. I'll make one if you guys can drum up some support.. about as many as I asked for the Picture subforum.. 5 I think... As for the Episode discution I think I'll set up a schedual of rotaition where the moderators make a thread about it the night before.. That way everybody is equal... prety much...I'll ask them first though.

People can keep making threads without having the subcategory titles. It's just that some of them would be classified to make them official (or at least official looking.) No rules would be broken, just some tidying up. smile
