PNEUMONO?ULTRA?MICRO?SCOPIC?SILICO?VOLCANO?CONIOSIS (also spelled PNEUMONO?ULTRA?MICRO?SCOPIC?SILICO?VOLCANO?KONIOSIS) = a lung disease caused by breathing in particles of siliceous volcanic dust.
This is the longest word in any English dictionary at 45 letters. However, it was coined by Everett Smith, the President of The National Puzzlers' League, in 1935 purely for the purpose of inventing a new "longest word". The Oxford English Dictionary described the word as factitious. Nevertheless it also appears in the Webster's, Random House, and Chambers dictionaries.

Woah. Reading this gave me the undying urge to go into my room and get the dictionary out from under my matress. I did and checked, but oddly enoguh it's not in there confused It's a Webster's dictionary....(a 1041 paged one. I'm not sure why I store it underneath my matress, but I do)

My theory is, that not many people will be using this word as often as the word "kitten" or even "smitten" blaugh

80 or 90% of dust is dead skin from humans.
When Jesus was walking the earth there were no spaces required when writing. Thereforewritinglikethiswouldhavebeenappropriateatthattime.
There exists an actual village with the name of Llanfairpwllgwyngychgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch.
58 million tickets sold when "the Passion" was in theaters.

I have more that I'll post later on.

But the language Jesus spoke, Hebrew, had no vowels. Surely that should, then, be thrfrwrtnglkthswldhvbnapprprttthttm.

And the railway station there is more famous than the village, simply because the name of the village is written on a sign there in rather large font. It's in Wales.

Anyway... Onto my facts smile

Out of the nine actors who have played the Doctor in the BBC series Doctor Who, two of which had previously been monks.

Russian scientists, in breeding a tame fox so that furers would have an easier time, succeeded in this task. However, the fur was completely unusable to furers.

The appearance of Daleks (monster in the BBC series Doctor Who) was based upon the movement of ballet dancers. The result is a creature that isn't too dissimilar to a pepperpot in appearance.

The longest running sci-fi series is Doctor Who, which is currently in it's 27th season. The first season of which was transmitted in the UK in 1963, specifically the day after the JFK assassination. During the 'void years' (those years between the last episode in 1989 being transmitted and the production of the 27th season starting in 2003), several hundred books, around 50 audio dramas and a televission movie were made. In fact, it could be argued that during the void years was a second golden era for Who fans, the first widely being considered to have been the mid 70s.
