Arabella nearly smiled. Here was the one person in the entire kingdom who even came close to trying to understand how she felt just now. She saw him forcing back sadness, if not tears and threw her arms around his neck. Not caring if she barely knew him and not caring about her dignity any longer. She needed a hug.

((I have to go now, I'll talk to you again soon))

Goodwin hugged Arabelle and patted her back gently, trying to confort her. "Um... there there." he said awkwardly as a single tear escaped his left eye. He whiped it away, he didn't want to appear weak infront of the already emotionally upset princess.

There was a loud knock on the door, and Arabella quickly pulled out of the hug. She didn't want it to seem like anything improper had been going on. She dried her tears on her sleeve and walked over to the door to open it. Before she could reach out her hand to do so, however, the door was flung wide open. She immediatly recognized the man standing in the doorway.

((Yeah, I have no idea what I want done here, so I left it wide open for you to do whatever you want mrgreen ))

((wow, not sure... how bout this:...))
It was the Holy Knight, Lucian, Goodwin's master. He barged into the room and slammed the door behind him. "Arabelle, there's danger!" he shouted in a deep voice as he inspected the room. He noticed Goodwin. Lucian grinned and approached him. "I see my young Squire instinctualy felt the danger and beat this old knight to the chase." Lucian chuckled and then became serious again. He truned to the princess. "It appears that your father did not die of natural causes... he was murdered!" As Lucian said this the begining of a large battle could be herd just outside the royal quarters.

((Good job))

Arabella was shocked to hear this news. "Wh-what do you mean...Murdered? By whom?" She was no longer sad...But angry, she wanted revenge and would go at any lengths to get it.

((okay))

(thnx mrgreen ))
Lucian sighed. "It's not simple my dear. We've got to get you out of here before anything else can happen." He then truned to Goodwin. "Goodwin, are you equiped?" Lucian asked. Goodwin nodded and motioned toward his sword on his side. Lucian grinned faintly and said, "good." He then sat down at a table in the romm and pulled out a small peice of parchment. Lucian motioned for Goodwin to come over and look at it. Goodwin did. It appeared as if it was a map and Lucian was giving Goodwin directions. "Got it?" Lucian finally asked. Goodwin nodded. Lucian then went over to the princess. "We have to get you otu of the castle, Arabelle." he said as he motioned toward her closet. "Pack light, and do it now!" Lucian commanded. He then approached the door and put his ear to it. "We're still safe... but hurry!"

((Okay, you keep calling me Arabelle instead of Arabella and I like it so I'm going to be Arabelle from now on..))

Arabelle was confused and a little scared, but she grabbed a fancy traveling bag from her closet (she had no regular ones). She packed a few of the simplest dresses she owned and some nessesities, including her belovd journal. Arabelle recognized the seriousness of the situation and did not even fold the dresses, she simply threw them in the bag. "I am prepared."

((sry bout that, i was typing it from memory, lol... at least u like it mrgreen ))
Lucian nodded and then motioned for Goodwin and Arabelle to come to the door. "There are enemies scatered throughout the castle, you two must make your way to the stables and take a horse west until you reach the village of Tazt, there everything will be explained." Lucian then turned to Goodwin. "Your one hell of a knight, kid." he said as he patted him on the shoulder. "Protect her." Lucian then charged out the door and ran in the opposite direction from which Goodwin and Arabelle were to go. Goodwin grabbed Arabelle by the arm gently and lead her cautously towards the stables.

Arabelle followed his lead. I sure hope he knows what he's doing They were walking quickly but cautiously, her long hair flowed behind her as they gained speed, it was obvious that they needed to get out of there quickly.

Goodwin turned a corner and jumped backwards, barely doging a swining blade. "Damn!" he yelled as he drew his sword. It was single enemy in odd black and red armorm that looked similar but different from the armor of this castle's knights. Goodwin fought with him for only moments and soon gave him a blow to the helmet which left him sensless. He then grabbed Arabelle's arm again and continued to the stables.

Arabelle had to run to keep up with Goodwin. She could really feel the danger now.. She tripped a few times, but quickly pulled herself back up, and continued to follow him.

Soon they had made it to the stable. Goodwin looked around the stable, as if tryning to pick the best mode of transportation.

Arabelle knew what he was looking for and pointed out two horses. Her fathers horse and her own. Her fathers was a large, all black horse that gleamed, it was fast and strong and would do perfectly. Her horse was a bit smaller, just her size, but was just as strong and fast. It would also do perfectly. "There. Those are the ones you want."

Goodwin nodded and grabbed Arabelle's hand and rushed her over to the smaller of the two. He then lifted her onto the horse and secured her back to the other. He then mounted and looked back to Arabelle. "Are you ready?" he asked.
