And don't even get me started on the song Dark Light... gonk
And as for people only having heard of Dark Light, the amount of join requests I see with "OMG my favourite song is Wings Of A Butterfly!!!!1", it makes me wanna scream. Viselle, I have to agree with you on that one. If I have to freaken see one more moron saying they want to join and their favorite song is "Wings of a Butterfly" I'm going to shoot myself. I hate that song. I can't even listen to it at all anymore. I know I'm all about educate the stupid fans, but how can we educate people that can't/don't learn? ... I'm sick of all the new poser American morons. I don't know what the HIM fandom has turned into anymore. The fandom you speak of has turned into a cult of pre-pubescent, immature, Ville-fans who don't have a ******** idea how hard he worked his a** off to get HIM to be where they are (pre- Dark Light) , nor do they have any idea that he wasn't the only one. I only feel sorry for him when I think of all of the girls (or guys) lecherously staring at him while he's singing on stage, practically undressing him with their eyes. And though many may think so, Ville ISN'T a god, HIM is about the MUSIC and not the popular vote, and MTV can kiss my a** for all I care. A normal crush is healthy, but from what I've seen, there's no normality to be found in girls who say "OMFG, liek, Ville-sama is teh sex in meh pantz, totally hott, etc, etc." And assloads of "fans" who claim to like the band have no clue what the heartagram means, or have never heard a album OTHER than Dark Light. It's ok for that to be the only album that you've ever heard, but some people think that it's the only album that exists. They would never know what HIM is really about, they'd never see past the mainstream business and attempt at Ville being a pretty goth boy for the ladies. It's what pisses me off more than anything. And that, my comrades, is my Rant For The Day. You may now throw rocks at me.

I meet all these other HIM fans places and they have on all this HIM merchandise and then I'm like "What's your favorite album?" or "What's your favorite song?" and everyone I meet is like "ZOMG Wings of Butterfly is really good!" or "Dark Light is the best album!!!" and I'm like ".... Ummm ... no." I mean I think Ville is hot too, but dang. -.-; It's not like he's going to marry these stupid fangirls (and boys) so why don't they go get lives. And then all these craptastic fans give HIM a bad name and all these other teenagers are like "Zomg i so don't lyke HIM cuz they r lyke soooo emo!!!11!!11!" HIM is not emo. At all. Ever. No. Right. Now i'm not ragging on Bam fans and it's ok if you like Bam and HIM, but there are just a handful of people who think that HIM is all about BAM when it's not. its not i hate the new album, its just it was a let down, each album before it had brought something new with it or had a unique sound throughout, where as dark light just dident, i just dident have any speical points liek the last ones, in saying that there were one or two good songs and no downright terrible songs
i think its because they are catering more for there acdience, and at the moment thats every goth/emo/wannabe bad f**, they will lap it up nomatter what him put out, where as with the first albums they were a smaller band and had to try alot harder and there music wasent for everyone but the fans thayhad loved it, now that there big they have wattered it down alot, thats why i dident like there new album
(ps. no offence to actuall goths, skaters and i guess emos but they annoy me, im talking more about the "scene" kids)

we can only hope that their upcoming albums aren't like dark light. i hope that their new album could bring the fans together, whereas we were divided with dark light. i support these guys, i don't agree with EVERYTHING that they do, but i love them anyway. and if they continue to spiral downward into ... burning_eyes , then i will go bonkers. scream

wings of a butterfly, was the second HIM song i heard and i loved it now i have moved on and its one of my least favorite songs, but its still loved.
all HIM songs are loved.

i know, HIM is HIM and it will always be HIM, they will always have my love, but there are some who claim to love HIM but they don't even know how truly great a band they are. i don't complain about what HIM decides to do, not all that much, but i just find it annoying how some people ruin it for others. i really wish they would stop trying to please others and just be themselves. i read an article about ville's comments on something i forget, but he said something along the lines of not conforming to the status quo of metal bands, of not being what everyone else thinks they should be, but being themselves. that's good advice for everyone, but they seem not to be following their own credo.

butzzzz~ i think its one of the greatest lyrical creative thing i have ever heard.
i almost can memorize the whole song because its so creative =O
i do agree the guitarz and drums could be heavier on the cd but i think darklight is one of the most creative in terms of lyrics of the cds.

I rather do like Dark Light, as most of the songs to me are rather good, with the odd exception (Dark Light itself hides behind the couch at this).
However, I wouldn't say it's my favourite as each album has its own merits and faults. This is a a bit more poppy than the others, but raised as a 70s and 80s pop child I don't mind.
People who slag off this album rather than the others are stupid as far as I'm concerned...especially when Uneasy Listening Vol.1 is around...

Well I live in Pennsylvania and it's very easy to find HIM albums. I mean, they even sell them in Wal-Mart!
