-Giving a solemn nod, he sighed softly.- "I think it's mean as well." -But he was mean too after all. It certainly wasn't expected that the people should just forgive and overlook a dangerous and bloodthristy beast like him. Slaughtering and hurting people really wasn't one of those things that people embraced.-
-Trying to change the subject once again he pondered lightly.- "Nerieds? Like.. the water creatures? How did she come across so many!?"

Maleficent's lip curled up in a slight growl. He was avoiding her questions! Grrr... Fine, she'd let it slide for now. But she'd drag it out of him eventually. Oh yes.
Mal shrugged. "What do you mean?" She thought for a moment. "I mean, they were all there before I came. I guess Mother Imbri recieved 2 shells a while back and took care of the shells and then later the nerieds that came out of them and they stuck around and had children of their own. It's one big crazy family."

"But they gave her some of their babies and shells to raise? How strange... How interesting!"
"Are they very nice? Do you have a pond of some sort for them to live in?"

"Some strange person named Envy gave the shells to Imbri, not the Nerieds themselves. But I guess the previous Nerieds would have had to have given those shells to Envy, so...Well, in either case, she ended up with them."
She chuckled, a strange sound comming from her throat. "Some of them are nice, some of them are mean. They're ALL vain as peacocks." She shook her head. "No, we don't have a pond for them. Inside the house, they have their own tanks and stuff, but our who house is underwater."

-He listened intently as she spoke, mouthing the word 'underwater' in soft awe.- "I'd like to see that some day! That is.. if it's okay with you and Miss Lady Imbri."
"You could see where I live too. It's just a farmhouse by the woods, with some horses.. but it's where I keep my books and stuff."

"Ohh, that'd be fun," Maleficent said, then checked herself. She really was starting to go soft. Like...like Jubilee!
"I mean, yeah...I know Mother won't care." She's never home anyway. "And I'd like to see these... horses."

"I've only met the horsies once when I first arrived. But my sister Marian seems to know alot about them. She even has one of her own that is very very huge. Big enough to like squash me with one foot!"
-Laughing a little nervously he mused.- "But she says they're nice and I'll get to play with them again soon, I just haven't gotten all settled in yet."

Maleficent shrugged. "I don't think the horses would squash you though. They're probably not that wild."
She leaned forward, looking at him straight in the face. "So what's your house like, then? I've got the crazy Nerieds, and my sisters and a pregnant mother, underwater. What's everything like there?"

"Well...." -He leaned back a little, as if to subconciously make up for her leaning forward, making the question seem 10x harder then it actually was. Her house sounded exciting really.. but what about his house..- "It's actually.. really calm.. and nice." -He liked calm really, it was a nice reprieve from everything.
Continuing on thoughtfully he scratched his check absentmindedly.- "Miss Iris is always busy doing this and that.. Cooking.. cleaning.. sewing.. You know, like those mother's you see on tv. And Marian is always either playing games with me, or out in the woods."
"It got a little loud the time that Duchess and the 'grandbabies' came and visited though I guess.. They're kind of neat! Two little kitty people, but they make a horrible racket when they want to. Though... not as loud as Marian was yelling at Gaston..."
-He smiled a little sheepishly.- "It's just a small family, very calm and good for studying."

"Ooh, little kittens? How..." she stopped herself from saying 'cute'. She WAS going soft. Darn! She couldn't allow that. "How interesting," she said, after a moment of silence.
The black haired childed blinked. "Tv mothers...like...traditionl mothers?" The word rolled off her tongue leaving a horrid taste behind. "I will never do that," she said, almost sounding like a vow. "How can one rule the world if she's playing Suzie Homemaker?"

-He seemed to have no qualms with the word however, nodding softly.- "Yep, it's strange that both of my sisters are animal people, but the kittens are so cute and soft."
-He looked absolutely mistified at her comment, rather uncertain with why a 'mommy' would want to 'rule the world'. But he smiled a little sheepishly, defending her softly.- "I dunno.. she seems pretty happy all the time though. So she must not mind."
"I think it'd be kinda weird to have babies, and take care of other people." -Rubbing the back of his head lightly, he pondered on the bizzare thought. Oh well, maybe he'd understand when he was older.-

"How did they become animal people?" Maleficent asked, her eyes wide. "Did they anger a sorceress and get a cursed placed on them?"
Someone was reading too much into the fairy tales that had been read to her.
"I suppose babies seem like a strange concept now, as we're still babies..." Or at least, that's what Kida kept calling her. "But, I'll need children, to take over when I'm too old and carry on my name. Of course, my servents would take care of them."
SHE couldn't be expected to raise children, what with ruling the Kingdom and all.

"Actually... I don't know." -He hadn't asked really.. since he knew how much he disliked to talk about his own affliction. But perhaps he would ask now. Settling his hands into his lap he smiled a little lightly, praising her suddenly.- "I think you'd be a good learning friend. You think of so many things I don't. Curiousity is truely one of the greatest gifts someone can have!"
"If you always ask questions then you always have more to learn."
-A soft laugh touched him as her next comment sounded, and he gave a rather sheepish grin, before asking cautiously.- "Take over? You've thought alot about the future haven't you?."
"I kind of like it here.. in the now." -Who knew what the future would bring really.-
