Vitara Southern California, USA California isn't two states but there is a difference between the north and the south What's the difference? Being from Australia, I have no idea... In fact, I never even really thought about why people say Southern California but never North California...

LamingtonQueen Vitara Southern California, USA California isn't two states but there is a difference between the north and the south What's the difference? Being from Australia, I have no idea... In fact, I never even really thought about why people say Southern California but never North California... This isn't truly a part of this thread...but, I'll answer anyways. In a physical sense, they two are extremely different. Northern California is where the redwoods grow (lots of forest) and Southern California is more desert. As so, an artist (Sandow Birk) created a fictional war between San Fransico and Los Angeles called In Smog and Thunder. The thing even has propaganda posters. Also San Fransico doesn't think highly of Los Angeles. (They are actually making it into a movie, Southland shall rise again in California war spoof or In Smog and Thunder - The Great War of the Californias ) There are other examples I could give, but I think you understand my point.
