"I'm... not fully sure he wants to 'see' me. Sometimes... sometimes I wonder if he's just getting a kick out of seducing a nineteen year old. It doesn't seem like he's the type to do that, but... you never know, I guess." She shrugged. She supposed Thorn would at least be open about his intentions. Whatever they were.

"... Yes, it is pretty," she said after a moment, playing with a lock of her hair. She smiled, albeit a little brokenly, mind still on Michael. "Very."

She tilted her head back, looking up as she thought. "... End of the week. Why?"

That man must be a genius, to have a girl hooked. Contemplating if maybe they should one day sit down and trade notes, he nodded his head. "I believe I am free at the end of the week. Why don't I invite Hadrian" inevitably, another one would come too. "And the three of us will make it an outing?"

Besides. That would give him to time to check this man out. He sounded interesting.

Maybe they were related?

"Well, not so much an outing as you two sitting in the audience, watching. I can probably get you two good tickets, though, for free. Want me to try?

"If you arrange that meeting with my Ames beforehand, I could invite him there... or you could, I guess. But I could at least give you two the tickets. Does that sound good?"

Now that they seemed to be on more normal topics, Natalie relaxed a little, standing up and walking around, looking at things. "I hope you like it. It's turning out really well. A lot of good, unknown actors... myself included, I suppose."

"I'm sure it will be fantastic." he said, said, assuring the woman of something that he really didn't care about. He was a man who attended musicals and operas that were sold out the day they arrived. What would this local production be?

No matter. He would please her, soothe whatever it was he needed to soothe. "Two tickets sound fabulous." and with two, it would be the perfect excuse not to invite his employee along.

Marc was much more tenacious than he had expected. Especially about a little thing like a man.

"Now." he nodded his head. "He might be a little bit busy, but I'll do everything I can." his eyes almost twinkled. "Where do you live, Natalie? in which building?" he added. "So I know where to bring him, of course."

Of course.

Natalie smiled, hoping Thorn would end up pleasantly surprised. It was no big, high-budget performance, no, but it was a good group. And a musical like Jane Eyre didn't need a lot of special effects. All it needed were good actors and actresses who could sing - and that, it had in abundance. It wasn't a silly high-school musical. It was better.

"Well, I'll do the best that I can," she chirped.

Stopping in her little walk, she turned to look at him, hands loosely clasped behind her back. "Oh, the one back in the woods a little. Building... three, I think it is? I think I'm along there, for the time being... well, the top floor's door is locked, but other than that.." She shrugged.

"Back of the woods?" Well. That seemed to provide more privacy than a girl would need! Unless she was up to something? "That seems somewhat lonely, Natalie." he added her name to the end of the words. Suggesting, or not suggesting, what else could happen.

Alone. A girl. Near the trees. Who knew?

Maybe no one could hear noises that could come from her apartment.

"Eh, I haven't settled in enough for it to get lonely. And last night, a bunch of my new neighbors showed up, like I said. But... I suppose, once everything calms down, it will be. Then again, aren't more people eventually going to move in?"

She shrugged, toying with a lock of hair.

"Hm... do you want to start making our way back out? I really should get Stephen's truck back to him soon."
PostPosted: Thu Jul 06, 2006 12:12 pm

"Stephen?" And who was this stephen who drove a truck? With a tilt of his head and an enquiring gaze, he nodded, getting up and moving towards her. "Let us try, at any rate." he added.

He wasn't going to get her out of here too soon. And he had a feeling he knew where he could take the wrong turns without looking ridiculous.

"Well." he reached inside his pocket for his wallet, flipping out a card. It was black, gold writing etched on an upraised surface. "If you ever need me." a wicked grin was cued in then. "You have my number."

'Thorn'
'xxx-xxxx-xxxx'

And that was all it said.

"Oh, just a friend from college. He's a complete idiot, but he has a car." She shrugged, laughing a little.

Then she took his card, looking at it for a moment before sticking it in the waistband of her skirt. Well, she didn't have her bags, and the stupid uniform didn't have pockets!

"Will do. And... how will you get in contact with me if the meeting with Hadrian goes through?" She began walking out of the center the way they'd come in.

"I believe it's this way." he said, gently leading her down another path. Yes. The place looked similar enough.

"I'll figure it out." he grinned almost wolfishly, nodding his head. "The building behind the trees, no? What floor?" He could figure it out then, after all this was done.

This compound was providing more entertainment than he had first supposed as well.

Natalie shrugged, trusting Thorn to lead her out - after all, he had solved the maze in the first place, right?

"Third. Too many stairs, if you want my opinion." She laughed again. "Though I'm not sure why I'm on the third floor - there's nobody above or below me, it seems like... so why not put me on the ground or top floor?"

Natalie kept a slightly wary eye on Thorn - he'd been grinning like he had something in mind lately, and though she was fairly sure it was her imagination... she wasn't altogether certain.

"Third? That is quite a climb, he commented. Stepping around the corner, he put on a frown. "Have you seen this direction before?" he asked, shaking his head in a look of bemusement. "I must have been distracted by something else."

He chuckled. "Perhaps something nefarious happens on the ground or top floor, that it cannot be rented out to another person. Especially a girl with a fondness for uniform."

"No, I don't thi-" Then Natalie made the oh-so-familiar squeak and hopped away, tripping over a conveniently placed bench in the progress. She fell over backwards, landing on her back, head mere centimeters away from a hedge.

"Mrrr...." she groaned, legs still up on the bench. She stayed like that for a moment, dazed, and then quickly got her legs down on the ground with her, rearranging her skirt so it covered everything, blushing bright red.

So, she was on the ground, after having tripped and shown her new friend a nice pantyshot, with a bruised head and a mortified ego.

Today was lovely.

Thorn was smiling, unable to help himself. "Are you okay?" well, even if she was hurt, that would only give him more of an excuse to spend time with her. Leaning over to held her up, he placed one hand on the ground, brushing bodies. Of course, this could have been to pull her up much more quickly-- the additional force, and all that.

"You need to be careful." he said simply, smirking. "You give quite an eyefull, Natalie."

Silly girl, to go around like that and not expect attention of the likes that he was giving her.

"Would you rather I wear those tiny little wide "belts" that girls are calling skirts?" she grumbled, barely able to pull herself up. She was a bit dizzy, and leaned on Thorn for a moment, closing her eyes and trying to steady herself.

"Wait, don't answer that. And yeah, I'm okay... or I will be. Once everything stops twirling around."

She was a bit too focused on the head injury to really react much to his sly comments - right now, she just wanted to be able to open her eyes and not feel like somebody was smashing a mallet into her skull. The ground here was hard!
