Me, and two of my friends all love to sing in choir. We enjoy is so much and we love to sing together...

Anyway, I think my voice is pretty good. I, along with my two friends, were the best in choir, but that was only because there were only...10 people in it. The choir teacher scared a lot of people away.

I just hate the days where I have a cold. It makes it almost impossible to hear if you're singing the right tune or if you're not.

It really depends on how well I warmed up. In my choir last year, we NEVER warm up, and my voice always cracked. When I warm up, even a tiny bit, I can hit notes a lot easier and it sounds better.

I think I'm a good singer... I was rated first chair bass in the Arizona All State Choir (for those who don't know, in Arizona there are 8 regional choirs of 100 people each. You must audition to get into one of these... Around 1,000 people audition for each one. I was first chair bass in my region. Then after that, the 800 people that made the regional choirs audition to be in the All State Choir... Out of the 200 basses that made regionals I was ranked first). I've also won several NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) competitions. Also, I have been the lead in several musicals including Oklahoma, South Pacific, and Kiss Me Kate. Lastly, I have been awarded several scholorships to many Arizona universities. My most prestigious one being full tuition plus 16,000 dollars a year living expenses.

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging, but my coir teacher actually told me that I was the Tenor 1 section's strongest singer....

I know I'm the strongest Soprano our choir has. When I drop out to breathe (or because I'm sick, as I was last week), we lose a lot of power. Course, that could be just the fact that I can hear them better when I'm not singing...

And I know I'm the best Soprano 1 we've got. The other girls are scared of those high notes and intimidated by sight singing; being in band and choir has taken that fear from me, and high notes are my forte (no pun intended).

I've been told by many people I'm talented, that they couldn't believe I sing as well as I do with so little formal training.

Yet, like everybody, there are days when I hate my voice. I just went through the longest phase of thinking my voice sucked hardcore. Seriously, I sometimes want to throttle myself. My voice can be so tinny and my vibrato is nearly non-existant and I never switch registers at the right time, so my breathing's always shot, and I have a tendency to forget there are other notations than fortissimo and pianissimo. sweatdrop

Depends sometimes I can do really good and sometimes I'm horrible.
Last year though I was probably one of the best Alto's though, since most were always off key and I had to help them get on the right ones. o_o

Depends.

I have my days
yesterday we had a big rehearsal
I'm an alto in my choir, since i can be either soprano or alto and my choir director thought the alto section needed more strength

and I felt like I was giving the alto section a lot of strength

so
i dunno
I guess I'm pretty good.

I think I'm quite good. I don't agree with the people coming up to me and saying 'You're an amazing singer Zoe' though. I'm sure that there are thousands of better singers than me.

The main problem is that if I haven't warmed up properly, my voice cracks. Also, if we stop singing for a quite a long time and then we go straight back into singing my voice can crack then as well. It's really annoying, because no one else has that problem.

Another problem is I have a problem with my back and my hip, so I can't stand up properly for too long, and then I can't sing that well.

I cannot get over this bridge... I THINK I SOUND HORRIBLE!!!!!

I cannot stand my voice, even though everyone always says, "You have a beautiful voice, so stop hiding it!!"

But I think it sounds so icky!!!! Blehh!! ewww!!!! eh...

But then again, my choir teacher says "You are your worst critic always."

I have my good days and my bad days...hard to sing in tune when the person standing next to you is out of tune... sweatdrop

It's also hard to sing in tune when you're standing in mixed formation and the part next to you is always a half step away from you.

I hear you. That's why you hae to be a freaking tank on those songs. Not in volulme, but in steadiness on your part.

I feel I'm a good singer, and am only bad when I'm sick. Or on just bad days. Or if I don't know the music.

But yeah. I've also had practice and help since I was little, so... I'm lucky I guess.

i would guess i am a pretty good singer. i have gotten many solos in my life. even in kindergarden graduation i had a solo to sing the whole song of "Once Upon a December" with no background help. i guess since i have loved to sing as long as i have been able to talk, i basically trained my voice myself as i was younger without knowing it. now i have a great chroal director who is helping me improve my voice even more.

it doesnt bug me when i have to be next to different parts during songs. for me it helps me. i am a saprano but i like singing by the tenors and basses sometimes cuz then it give a slight chanllenge and i help improve my hearing that way to keep the right saprano note while the other parts next to me is singing something totally different as a counter part. ^^

♥ I would call myself the leader of my choir. A lot of them looks up to me, and i think it's really sweet.
Today, we were holding auditions for the first solo of the year, and it's for that song "Joyful, Joyful" from Sister Act 2. And this girl got off the risers to go to the mic and so did i, because the teacher said to go to the mics if we wanted to try out for them, and as soon as she saw me, she was like "okay, nevermind" and i was like, "WTF?" xd
So yeah, i guess if i had to rate myself out of 10, i'd give myself a 9.
then again, that's only for my participation and performance when it comes to my choir. I'd rather not evaluate my skill when it comes to performing solo ongs in talent shows and stuff razz

God, I know that feeling. We were practicing the chorus numbers for our next show in drama group on Saturday, and the girl stood next to me was about three semitones flat.

I have no problem with people singing different parts next to me, I always stand on the Soprano/Mezzo-Soprano divide anyway. It's just so much easier to ignore when they are actually singing their written part.
