stressed *Becoming infuriated at this block, and adrenaline pumping, Brisingr plants his feet, slams his fists down, one on her foot, to launch himself to standing up, and brings his fist into Beth's gut, though not too hard*

*Brisingr stands up tall and crosses his arms* After the fights I have been in with women through the years, I have learned not to take it easy on any of them. The slightest weakness or hesitation could cost me my life.

*He begins to turn away, but suddenly, a flashback hits him, kind of overlaying the view before him, of a similar girl hunched over in sorrow, crying, and just as suddenly as it happened, it stopped, to be facing a crying Elizabeth. He sighs, then walks over, and holds out his hand to help her up.*

I am sorry. You are right. You are still merely a learning student. I should not be so hard on you, young one.

*Still rattled by his flashback, and trying to help Elizabeth, he is caught completely off guard, and is hit full force on the cheek, knocking him clear onto the ground, hard, and even leaving a bruise. Brisingr stands up, feeling the spot, and just looking at her hard, and then quickly crouches and jumps into the branches above, and disappears*

*Brisingr sits on the roof of his house cross-legged, arms crossed, eyes closed, and his brow knitted with concentration...then his eyes pop open, his eyes uncertain as they move around a bit, and he thinks about the day.*

Sophia.....

*Abruptly, he stands up, bulges his muscles a bit as he, after a fashion, powers up, to where he almost has a visible aura of power around him, and jumps so strongly, leaves a small dent on the roof, and flies almost all the way to his target, before landing on a branch, and jumping branch to branch, to make sure he keeps his powers hidden, though he is unsure if his speed sent a wave of force at Elizabeth, and wonders if she noticed. Then, he abruptly jumps beneath the branches upon a bear that was about to rush into the clearing where Beth is, quickly incapacitates it, and walks into the clearing to Beth*

*Brisingr walks into the clearing, and just stands tall a few feet from Elizabeth, even as the fiery light begins to die from his eyes, and his bulging muscled arms settle to normal.*

I'll not let any student of mine be done in by a mere bear. Come. It is nighttime, and time to rest. We will continue your training tomorrow.

*Brisingr begins to turn away, but sees a flashback again, and his green eyes contract a bit, almost in fear, and he feels like he should say something. Then he just turns away, and begins to walk to his house.*

*Almost attacks her as she suddenly does this, but realizes that she isn't attacking this time. His green eyes are showing the confusion within him, unsure of what he should do, considering the last time he let his guard down around her....then, slowly, he hugs her a bit, to comfort her*

It was just a bear. It's fine, young one.

*Turns away, since he is confused, and begins to walk to his house again*

Come. You need your rest for tomorrow.

*He then turns to face her, grinning for the first time in hours*

And it will be quite a training day. You better be prepared.

*He turns back around, and walks to the house.*
