Mari sat down across the table from Smash. Tech sat right next to Mari and Byte sat on the other side of Smash, but across from Tech. She smiled and played with Tech's hair a bit, watching as he gave her a glare and tried to swat her hand away.

hi there. are we ready to order?
*he was looking through the menu and then nodded*
sure. i'll have a steak, well done with coke. the little guy here will also have a steak but with milk.

Mari looked over the menu and then ordered. "I would like a steak as well, but cooked rare. With a Sprite to drink." She nodded and handed him the menu. Tech and Byte looked at him and spoke at the same time like the always did. "We would like chicken fingers and chocolate milk, please." They smiled and Mari took their menus from them and gave them to the waiter.

Mari just sat and listened to them. There wasn't much she had to say. Byte looked up at Smash and smiled. "We're having a great day. Thank you." Tech nodded and smiled. "Yea. It's a lot of fun."

They just nodded and Mari was wondering where their drinks were. "The waiter here must be new." She said in a mumble that wasn't angry at all. More of an observation.

Mari took a sip of her drink and smiled as the kids were drinking their chocolate milk. They looked quite content. It made her happy that they were able to protect these two from Kano. They weren't evil. 'Well, not all things that use dark energy are evil. I guess that goes for night fiends, too.' she thought to herself.

Byte just kept sipping on her milk and looked towards Tech. She felt he could answer the question better than she could. "Well... It wasn't dark in an ugly way. It was dark in a pretty way. Kinda like when the sun is just setting. It's not bright like it is in this world, though. You guys have day and night. Ours is a mixture of that, but more on the darker side. You understand?" Mari just nodded. She knew what he was talking about. It was like twilight. He must not know the word. Byte then sat her glass down and spoke. "It's a bad dark now."

Tech just looked at him and his speech changed. "Is it really that strange? In different realms, worlds, and in their history hasn't there been people who just rise up and take power? Dictators they're sometimes called." Byte just sat and listened and so did Mari. She understood what he was saying and where he was going.

that's true. lots of people have tried that. but with every dictator there has been those who oppose them. wasn't there anyone who tried to oppose kano?
