Having flashcards really helps. Here is a way to make your own instead of spending a ton of money on a set or more. It my seem tedious, but it's rewarding because you get to practice writing the kanji while you're making them. Heisig . . . .Buy heavy paper (about twice the thickness of normal flashcards), unlined and with a semi-gloss finish. Cut it into cards of about 9 cm. long and 6 cm. wide. On one side, make a large ball-pen drawing of one kanji in the top two-thirds of the card. . . .On the back side, in the upper left-hand corner, write the key word meaning of the character. Then draw a line across the middle of the card and another line about 2 cm. below it. The space between these two lines can be used for any notes you may need later to remind you of the radicals or stories you used to remember the character. Only fill this when you need to, but make a card for every kanji as soon as you have learned it. . . . I think the index cards themselves work just as well as the heavy paper. So you may want to just get packs of blank index cards and cut those instead of wasting money on the heavy paper. Once I get the second book I will continue his quote of how to make the cards.

There. A much better setup than before, I think. Tell me what you think. I've completely changed it so please take a look. I'm really sorry for not updating the actual kanji. I'm rather busy trying to clean house so our cousins can come over so things are really hecktick. I'll try to add at least one kanji a day until we finish.

Hmm...Maybe I should find something for stroke orders of certain kanji? And I am like, just talking to myself here.
