The past few years we've had DDR at bandcamp- the computer-y guy would bring their PCs and a projector and the dance pads and we'd have competitions and such. It's a lot of fun. ^.^

Only a few of us like DDR in my band. But those of us that do, we're crazy over it. There's one guy that is hella good at it (All Maxx songs and Paranoia on heavy mode). I haven't actually played it in band or band camp yet, but I'm sure that we will soon.

Like everybody I know likes DDR! Some people brought it on the band trip last year, so we were playing it in the hotel. ^_^
But we haven't had a DDR competition.... though twister is really fun too to play in the band hall, and a lot more portable.

In my junior year in marching band we went to a competition in grapevine [we had a slot in the middle of the day] so for lunch and what not we when to the mall. I was bored because I had to wait until my group ate, lol trumpet people lol just kidding. So we head down to gameworks and found a DDR machine [just one] near the entrance....and most of the guys that I hang out with freaked [as did I] and rushed to get a game card to play it. The machine broke down like three times before we had to go [oddly enough it's a good machine with an old card reader attached to it]. I think between me, joefil, john, matt, and tony we played at least 4 years worth of DDR in one visit.
This year Gameworks brought more DDR machines [they even have the new supernova] and the best part is [besides schooling everyone and not losing a game] not a single machine broke down.

I wish we had done DDR at bandcamp (in our cabin, anyway). DDR is possibly my favorite plotless videogame xD

HAha, DDR is awesome! We should have a competition like that.
This year, at the competitions, we saw about 3 or 4 bands that had a dance sequence. THEY ALL DID DDR!!! ALL OF THEM! THE COLOR GUARD HAVE ARROWS ALL OVER THE PLACE!!! The band was shouting "up, down, left, right!"
lucky them...

I'm glad I'm not the only person who considered a DDR competition at band camp. It's so fun!

DDR heart
Nothing else need be said. But I'm going to ramble on anyway, because I can, and I'm trying to get back into the habit of forum posting. I've played DDR for about two years, and am rather annoyed at the moment, because I go to school in Boulder, and there are no arcade DDR machines in this town. gonk Plus, I don't have the money to plop down for a ~good~ home pad, and trying to pass 9-footers on a $20 GameStop pad is an excercise in frustration.

Totally! When we went a band trip to somewhere and went to the mall people were excited about playing DDR, but when we got there, the machines were turned off, I was so disappointed.

I totally love DDR, although I suck at it. But I have two friends that are absolutely amazing at it, one whose going to join back next year (he quit because he didn't like his section leader) and the other who was once in an orchestra but quit. So yeah, band nerds go with DDR totally xD

I LOVE DDR!! But...I don't personally own it, I have two friends who own two dance pads each and different copies of the game...so...but if the band played it?? Ha ha ha!! That'd be sooo hilarious! I can just imagine it now...Your reward for learning the entire show in a day is--playing DDR!! And when we have to relearn the entire show...DDR!! The band would be like NO! WE ARE NOT PLAYING!! it's too hot outside..(bunch of whiners, I tell ya!) k I'm done!
