well i like it because... well picture two (or more) sexualy appiling people of the sex your atracted to going at it now its posible to imagine both liking you at the same and posibley leting you watch it happen without feeling uncared for.

It's effing hawt! Yaoi was intentionally created for girls by girls! xp As for yuri I'm not a big fan but the Zero girls from Loveless is pretty good. [^_~] More towards the fluff-ness of Shounen Ai though... burning_eyes The smex scenes can get pretty graphic... and some what mentally scarring to the innocent and unsuspecting. twisted

I just like seeing two guys together. I dont really have a problem with much in the world, so nothing shocks me. But when i see a gay couple holding hands or something, i squeal. whee
I also like to see people defying others "logic". What’s the point of being born freely on this earth if we cant live freely and love each other, no matter race/gender/ect. ? People are so closed-minded and need to look past beyond all the crap that others force onto them about being right and such.
So seeing two guys or girls together, real or fictional just makes me happy, cause i am not the only person who doesn’t give a crap what society says in the world. biggrin

well its b/c yaoi is extremely hot

I really like yaoi and shounen-ais because... well, yeah, it's hawt. No doubt about that. But with a shounen-ai, both guys usually have their own problems about liking another guy. The constant pressure of 'it's so weird, if I told him he'd hate me, if anyone else knew, they'd hate me too' is a burden, but once the two come to terms with it, it shows that love is love, it conquers all. Suddenly, no one else matters. That's why I like yaoi and shounen-ais.

the_nameless_1 yes it is but that is the reason so u dont think that is wrong, wouldnt you rather see a guy and a girl go'n at it? yaoi more intresting i gess and theres still in our society a feeling of taboo, hent (guygirl) just seems so ordernaly and kinda dull as you see it so offten. yaoi is just more fun (and hot!!)

Bastet13 1) i got into yaoi bc there was something about the art of yaoi that just seemed to steal my soul as an artest. 2) when most girls read a fan fic we like to pretend we're in it. if it's a straight couple then it feels like we have no choice but to be the girl. but if it's yaoi we feel more free to pick what side we can be on. 3) the feeling of it being so tabo. some of us feel like we're getting away with something when we do something involving yaoi. 4) once again that feeling of yaoi being tabo give art and fanfics the feel of the relationship being more strong then if it where straight. the two have to truly love each other and must hold strong if they can ever face the rest of the world. 5) some times every girl in the anime is a loser or b***h and you just know your fav guy would do better to date his best friend over the girl he's dating now. (gundam wing) 6) in art where it's simple huging or holding hands some of us just feel that guys sould be ably to do that without being mark gay and that it would show true stranth of friendship. like when my best friend and i hold hands in the mall. i'm not dating her. we just like to hold hands. 7) and some time the guy all just look cuter cool and lastly yaoi is sometimes just used as a search tool. if i look up yaoi pics of my fav guy i find him by himsef in the cutest pics. had i just typed in his name i would never have gotten the cute pics. lmao that's how my room mate got sucked in. biggrin so yah, there's some of what i think. lmao what that question brot up good memories. i actuly took a college corse on why girls love yaoi. it was great. heart I totally have to agree with you 3nodding

Why do girls like yaoi? Well I'm a girl and I can't really and truly give an explination. You really can't control what you do and do not like. (To tell the truth I used to dislike yaoi.) Why, may you ask did I all of a sudden like it? I'm not sure, one day it just clicked in my mind, "That's a really hot picture..." and from there it was history. I think the relationships can be more complex sometimes, it's not the normal, guy meets girl story... It's a nice change. Well that's MY opinion anyway..

I think its because guy&guy love is more pure then girl&guy love. Because girls are really moody and bitchy and mess things up alot, guys are less moody. Well Im not sure how to explain it. I hope you get what I ment ^^;;

I think.. ahem, this is just an idea... that maybe it's because two boys in a relationship are equal, whereas boy and girl have different roles. Girls are supposed to be girly, and boys be boyish, and I don't like it. That's probably also the reason I don't like obvious seme/uke relationships like ItaSasu. But then again most people like seme/uke, so this maybe only applies to me.
This must be my reason though, because I absolutely adore the het pairing Kyo/Chiharu from Power!! (In which Kyo is a girl posing as a boy)
