Ohohree? Ohohoo? Vinny didn't understand but that strange red haired person had pulled his own curly locks. He was so surprised he forgot to cry. Was it a game? He had only wanted to look. He uncurled the long red tendril that had wrapped around his tiny fingers and carefully plucked it with his awkward right hand and held it out for the girl to take back. He only wanted to look, he didn't want to keep it. It was pretty and shiny but hard to see and hard to hold. She could keep his if she wanted, he had lots of it and it fell out on his pillow and in his tiny comb anyway. "...ohohoo..." He tried. He hadn't spoken more than a handful of words his entire life and was out of practice. The word was barely audible snatched away by the light breeze. There, was that an apollygee?

Nikiana was about as confused as Vinny. What was an ahpollogee? Was it the stuff that she had gotten from his head? She held it out, proudly stating, "Ahpollogee!" She was proud of herself figuring it out. She took the small little hair that 003 offered out to her and tried to figure a way to get it back into her head.
The Matron just shook her head slowly, her eyes closed. Oh how silly toddlers were. She sighed. That would just have to do. They were all already late. "Okay, 002 and 003. Close enough." She spotted the other child and gestured for the little girl to join the others. "Come along, 005. Let's get all of you to class." Acting as a shephard, she did her best to herd the wobbly toddlers into their classroom.

Slowly the Matrons chivvied the group of five into a brightly lit classroom. While two of them left, the third stayed behind, talking with the teacher, a middleaged man in the bland robes of a colorless. A dark black band hung around his sleeves and the hem of his robe, showing everyone his role.
With a shake of his head the teacher murmmered something back to the matron and she nodded. Turning back he visibly sighed as the todders had seperated once again into the perputrators of chaos that they were.
"Allright!" The man clapped his hands together with a hearty, if slightly tired, smile. "Everyone sit in a circle!"

Selma toddled into the classroom and wandered around while the teacher was busy with the matron, looking at the instructional tools that decorated the walls. So intent that was her study of the walls, that she barely heard the instructor when he called. She turned her head and when she saw the others heading in the direction of the man, she too made her way over, though probably not as quickly as the teacher might have liked. Plopping down next to him, she looked up at his face expectantly, wondering why he had them all sit down, as she still wanted to look around. The walls were so much more colorful than anything she had known before...

Parmida blinked as she was hustled into the classroom, then looked around the new room. It was... colorful. She didn't know how to decribe it. She turned towards the one man when he said something, and followed the others. "Circle?" She promptly sat down next to the one girl that had already sat down, wondering what a 'circle' was...

Not having a clue what a circle was either, Niki just sat down where she was when the teacher said to sit, which happened to be in front of the other two girls. She looked at this older man. He was funny looking. And he had all that ahpollogees on his face...
The redhead craned her head about, looking for her first friend. "Tah-li!" She happily patted the floor near her, obviously wanting the boy to sit near her.

This person was funny looking... he was taller than His and had fuzzy stuff on his face. His never had fuzzy stuff on her face. He waddled over and plopped down on the ground like the other's had done. He was near the girl with the strange bright hair. Why was he here? He'd never been away from His. They said he was going to live somewhere new, was this it?

Still sniffling Taliesin wandered over to 'Ana and sat down, slightly behind and to the side of her. On the other side of her was a blond haired toddler, the one that stole his people. Grumpily he stuck a sticky wet thumb in his mouth and sulked. Meanie...

Selma turned her head slightly to look at the girl that had set next to her. She had a much darker complexion then she was familiar with and the toddler wondered if it felt any different than her own skin. As her right hand was occupied by having her thumb in her mouth once more, the green-eyed girl reached over with her left and gently poked Parmida's skin before poking her own. Nope, they felt the same. She looked back at the other girl and offered her a shy smile, thumb still secure in her mouth.

Parmida jumped in surprise when someone poked her, albeit gently. She turned wide eyes to see Selma poke herself then give her a shy smile... thumb in mouth. Parmida blinked, then gave a hesitant smile back. She then stuck her left thumb in her mouth to follow Selma's example and turned forward to look at the one who told them to sit.

Vinny wondered why the other boy sat and stared at him; glaring with his thumb in his mouth. He was still amazed; he'd never been around other toddlers before. He stared at the boy staring at him, he too had an ugly bright shirt on. Vinny decided to imitate him and stuck his thumb in his mouth trying his best to glare. The girl in the middle didn't even seem to notice, she was watching the large hairy man with interest.

Said large hairy man sighed as the toddlers more or less flopped in a squiggly line. The hearty smile dissapeared before reappearing again.
"Well.." The matron flicked him a pitying glance. "Let's start with our shapes then!" The teacher quickly strode over to several high cubbyholes, too high for the toddlers to reach. Pulling out a peice of slate and some white chalk he hurried back over to the toddlers. It wouldn't do to let their attention wander.
Quickly the man sketched three shapes on the slate. On the far right was a circle, in the middle was a triangle and to the far left was a square. Underneath all of them he wrote in large blocky print each name.
The teacher settled onto the floor with the toddlers and placed the slate in front of him. Pointing at the circle he started to talk. "This is a circle. Circle." The finger moved over one. "This is a triangle. Triangle." One more, "And this is a square. Square."
He glanced up and frowned slightly at one of the toddler's wandering attention. "Can everyone point to a circle. Circle..."
Breathlessly he waited.

Nikiana listened to the man's slow, deliberate speech. She looked at each of the shapes. Circlecircle. Triangletriangle. Squaresquare. Okay, that wasn't too hard. He wanted them to point to the circlecircle? The redhaired child looked right at the shape then, with a grin on her face, pointed over to the squaresquare instead.

Tali glared back at the imitating toddler. His lower lip began to tremble and nearly hairless eyebrows began to lower. Fortunately the teacher-person began to talk, interupting the toddler.
Taliesin understood almost as soon as the man had named the shapes. "Can everyone point to the circle?" He asked. With his left hand Taliesin pointed to the circle drawn on the slate. For a moment he beamed around the thumb before an arm swung into his vision.
Blinking at 'Ana Tali followed the chubby finger to the square. Taliesin dropped his thumb from his mouth and steadied himself on the floor. Brown eyes darted between Nikiana and the square confused. Hesitantly he moved his finger from the circle to the square, taking his friend's lead.

Parmida watched, thumb in mouth, as the teacher talked about "shapes" and asked them to point out the "circle." She was about to point to the one on the left when one of those sitting with her pointed to the one the right, while another pointed to the left. She blinked, confused, until the second one also pointed to the right. She grinned, then raised her other hand and pointed to the one the other two toddlers were pointing at. She took her thumb out of her mouth long enough to innocently repeat, "Circlecircle."
