I don't think the point is that a boycott on donations is going to in any way financially cripple the site. That just isn't going to happen. The point is making an opinion, viewpoint or agenda heard in a very tangible way. It's not saying that everyone is going to stop donating if [X] happens or does not happen, but rather that a vocal part of the population will stop, based on a particular set of actions, or lack of action. It makes a pointed statement, rather than the general whining that tends to go on. It further raises the point by avoiding a passive-aggressive donation cessation and instead presenting a list of reasons why this is happening, as well as suggestions on how to renew the boycotter(s) faith in and donation to the site. It's about getting noticed by the right people, and in this case, it seems to be working.

Thinking that you're too small is ridiculous. It really, REALLY doesn't take much to get noticed. I work for an extremely large company, and one of the biggest "to-do's" in the past couple of years started out with one e-mail. That one e-mail was a catalyst for a result that I certainly never saw coming. It's not how many you have, it's how you do it, and in this case it's being done right.

My many months-old thread giving feedback about Gaia and it's fantasy elements has been updated, and anyone who wants to give input would be appreciated. I've been contacted by mods and told that the admins ARE reading my thread, so anything you have to say about the subject matter could help.

More to fantasy then just man-near-nakedness. Never has the 'world' of Gaia seemed more nonexistant.

You say potato, I say vodka.

I'll think up some more items I'd like to see. And sneak a loin cloth request along in there again.

You know, I've never really thought the admins of this site as bad as everyone seems to believe. They came up with a layout, thinking it was a good idea. They wouldn't upload one they themselves weren't fond of. It got negative feedback, so they're working on it. Deleting a feedback thread wasn't their way of saying that they don't care what users think. It was a, "We've heard your opinions, and are going to do what we can" thing.

They want people using the site. They want people happy with the site. Not everyone can be accomodated, true, but they are going to try.

The thread Jaeger made was a good one, I thought. Protests like this go over better when they're rational, clear, and most importantly, polite. The issue was addressed, the course of action was addressed, the desired end result was addressed.

I'm not satisfied with much of the site right now. I don't like the layout, but I'm already used to it and can find my way around easily enough. I'd like more options in the clothing choices, but then, I can't afford most things anyway.

Most importantly of all, I'm on the site for fun. It's fun because of the people and the interaction. It's you all that I care about, it's the discussions in the CD. It isn't the happy little avatar that I re-dress every few months.

The admins aren't out to get people, as seems to be a general consensus among the site as a whole. And it's things like this that will help get rid of the issues presented.

Kudos, Jaeger.

Just read through the thread again and have noticed a lot of posts that were flames missing. The mods at least are paying attention.

Pretty sure the thread has died and 100 people said they were stopping donations. The adition of the button at the top for more navigation is a nice start to improvements. (even though it's not working at the moment)
