I'll have to agree with everyone in here that this would be one hard situation.
If I had someone to die for, I would. Yet if I died my last seconds on this mortal world would feel tremendously sad because, she would live the rest of her life in vain for losing me. I would feel the same if she jumped in frount of me.
Another way to look at it is, if someone is so sick and twisted to kill someone, wouldn't they just take both lives if him or her jumps in frount of him or her?
If that sort of situation would ever come, -hope it never does- I'd pick poll number C - try to dodge the bullets, run away with said lover, and hope for the best. 3nodding
Or run at the person with the gun to try to fight it away from him. Eh, this thread really boggles the mind.

Agreed.
Or what if the person didn't know you existed? Or just didn't know you very well. Would it still be worth it?

If it came to that, I'd die myself and watch over him, he'd know it was an act of love and that even if I'm dead in body, I'll still be with him always heart

Me i would try fighting the guy down first and saving both our lives, but if not that i would take the bullet, i love life to much to be selfish and not let someone else enjoy it, plus i tell everyone be happy no matter what.

if she died id probably end up killing myself later anyways... so i guess id let her die first save her the pain, then id probably jump off something high up so i could be with her forever...

I would die for the one I love. I would ignore the fact that it would tear them up to see me killed, but I would rather have my guy live life and find another love. If he died I would be to heartbroken.

LibidinalCatharsis So I was thinking about that thing, you know how people say, "Oh, I care so much about you... I would die for you." Well. I kinda figured... Say someone is standing in front of you and the person who means the most to you. The person is going to kill one of you but not both, but you get to decide who. What would you do? A: Let them die B: Die yourself so they can live Most people would pick B. But, see... if that person stays alive, they will have to wander the earth with the torture and memory of knowing you died for them. Whereas to die is to experience releif of EVERYTHING. That includes guilt, remorse, etc., for letting someone else die for you. So I kind of think that if you really love someone, you'll let them die... and go through the torture of knowing they no longer live, knowing that they are happy (or at least feel nothing) wherever they are. Make sense? wow that made my head hurt!

Make sense? The one I love doesn't love me nearly as much as I love her. In fact, I doubt she even realizes that I do still love her. So I'd definately die for her.

I think that I would choose to die just to save my loved one's life only if that person loves me back and he can understand my sacrifice and my love. and he also should know that I did that knowing that life is the most important thing one has and that I chose to give mine so he can enjoy his. And if he really loves, he's make the best of his life and not live bitterly regreting me, just because that's what I'd do if someone loved me that much. I'd appreciate his sacrifice, I'd raise an altar for him in my heart and I'd live loving love and life...

And besides, all true love truly lasts beyond death heart Even mourne-free, it exists! xd

I would talk about it with the other person, and see what would truly be the best thing for then. And then I would make my decision, although it would probably end up being me, I would tell them that they shouldn't have any regrets.
Actually, with me, some of my friends might be happier that I would have sacrificed myself, because they would feel good about me getting the peaceful release of death, instead of themselves. Hmm...complicated. heart
