"Alright..." Kaspar agrees, with a nod, heading back toward the towering Zoid. "We'll go....you can deside what you want to do later."

What could he do? He'd never been outside of the village's lands accept to travel with his mother on buisness, even then he was very young when he had. An orphanage seemed the only option, he was too young to live on his own. No one would hire a child so there was no money to be made. "...Do you have a job?" He glanced up to the Joid, waiting to be shown into the pit.

"Off and on." Kaspar answered with a shrug as they head back to the Zoid, which lowers it's massive head for them as they approach, to allow access to the cockpit. He's a mercenary, but doesn't feel the need to share this quite yet, not with the chances that the person that just burned the village had also been one.

Hugo nodded, climbing himself into the passanger seat just behind the control seat of the cockpit. He'd never been inside a Zoid before, the interior was much smaller than he imagined but then again, one wouldn't need much space to simply battle in.
He glanced out the window to his village, still smoldering in flames, a few of the foundations were crumbling under their weakened bases now, dust flew up, adding to the thick smoke choking the area. He whispered a silent farewell for those lost, turning his head away. Men didn't cry...

Hugo's failure to have seen the inside of a normal Zoid saves the questions that might otherwise have arrisen from the somewhat odd guidence systems to this one. Kaspar settles into the pilots seat with a sigh, drawing down the command helmet, backing the Zoid away from the burning wreckage and turning back toward the wastes. He pauses for another look around, before starting off, picking up speed as they head away, there's no point in staying here....

Hugo leaned on his hand, looking out one of the 'eyes' of the dino zoid as they ran. It was a strange feeling, the rythem of a running beast along with the whirls and clicks of a mechanical thing... Zoids were living machenes, that thought alone was startling. He'd heard rumors of wild zoids causing problems...
"Do you think the zoid that attacked us was a wild one?"

"No..." He says, after a breif pause. "No I don't...." He says, though he's reluctant to elaborate, seeing that mask flash across his vision again. More information flickers just out of his mental reach, but he pulls away rather than reach for it, knucles whitening into a fist breifly. "No I know it wasn't..."

"How would you know?" Hugo's eyes narrowed a bit, studying the man as he tensed up.

Kaspar doesn't turn around, but his hands clench again as he shifts in his seat as the two of you tear across the sands. He's right, the thing is damned fast for a Zoid, lacking the hesitations of a normal Zoid. "I've seen it before...I'm sure I have..." He growls, tone darkening. "Not a freind of mine..."

Hugo sunk back away from the man at the darker tone. Perhaps it wasn't the best idea to hop into this zoid... then again if this man had any foul intentions it would probibly be a more merciful fate than having wondered in the wastes until hunger, a wild zoid, or the heat had taken him. Still, it did little to comfort his already trembling mind. He bit his lip, puffing his chest out to make himself look perhaps a bit bigger, more intimidating. Show no fear, men weren't afraid.
"Have you seen it before? Where does it dock? I want to find it." He frowned, his grip tightening on the armrest at his side.

Kaspar tenses again, every line of his body going as tightly drawn as a bowstring as things go screamind down the choridors of a fractured mind again, though not as strongly. "I just -SAID- I'd seen it." He growls back. "Stop asking." He adds flatly, but commandingly, still strung tight. "You don't want that answer, even if I had it..."

Hugo sat up with a start, pressing further back against the chair if that was at all possible. Perhaps climbing into the stranger's zoid was a bad move. He didn't seem at all very... happy or one for conversation. "..s...sorry..." He glanced to the windows, chewing at his lip out of habbit.

Kaspar shook his head faintly. Some part of him could faintly understand the boys urge to find the Zoid, but it was better that he not. Suiside would get him nowhere. Or if it got him anywhere it would be the end of -her- claws. Or turned into a ugly red stain under the heel of her zoid. "Appologize to yourself." He growls. "For trying to get yourself killed. Thats all you'd accomplish." He growls, then adds, almost more conversationaly, though with a bite of sarcasm. "What were you planning to do? hit the Zoid with a stick? Yell at it?"

Hugo looked up sharply, opening his mouth to protest but the man was right. He had no way of avenging his village. Against a zoid he was just about as dangerous as a box of kittens and there'd be little chance of catching the piolet alone- especially if what he heard about zoids and their fierce will to protect their piolets was true.
"...I'm just... not thinking clearly." He looked out the window again, grinding his teeth to fight back the tears burning at his eyes. What was he supposed to do? The man was right, but he didn't want to admit it. They were all dead and here he was safe and sound in a cockpit with no way to help even himself. "..Damn."

"No You're not..."Kaspar agreed, as they made their way across the wasteland. Not too much longer now and they'd be at their destination. Home...such as it was. It would be good to be there, if strange because of the extra body. "We're almost there..." he called back after a short pause, not sure why he bothered telling the boy.
