Kizuka streched her pink paws and yawned lazily. She had started to get used to the rather peaceful life in Pridelands, but her hunter instincts pushed her to go looking for new adventures. She had what she wanted all her life; a feeling of belonging, and a starting point in finding the answers to questions she had been asking. It was not easy to believe such a lion as Kizuka with a rather outgoing and positive facade could contain such a huge hunger for revenge inside. She needed to look for the lioness who murdered her mother ruthlessly, and Pridelands was a good start for that. That's why she stayed there.. and for Mchele of course. He was the one who managed to settle her down even for just a little bit.
She walked a little and turned back, staring at the Pridelands from its border. It was just a little while ago she had no borders, but now she was tied down. She turned back again and walked firther away from the Pridelands. She was afraid she would start to like being tied down, and forget about her mother in the pleasures of her daily life.
She walked towards the lake in deep thoughts and when she finally got there, she sat on the ground, her front paws halfway into icy water.

~Masamune~
A small island graced the centre of the lake. It was mostly made up of dirt, with just a few patches of grass, and a single tree that was bountifully blessed with leaves.

A long, white tail with pink spots hung down from the tree, flicking gently from side to side at the tip. The owner of the tail barely even noticed the lioness as she approached the lake. It was only when a flash of bright pink caught her lilac eyes that she raised her head to take a better look. "Oh wow!" The leopardess wasted no time in hopping down from the tree which she had been lay in. Once in full view, she smiled brightly towards the lion, her lilac eyes dancing excitedly. "You-who!" She called out with a laugh, having never ever seen another creature with colours like her own.

Kimaria
Creeping along through the grass was a dark lion, his fur almost black...but not quite. His speckled pelt shone brilliantly under the sun and already in this young age strong muscles were forming beneath his pelt. It was obvious from his build that he was not any sort of push-over and was in fact a rather tough little thing.

Yet the truth was that the only real fight he had been in had been a failure...or in his mind a 'draw'.

It was this morning when he had been trying to climb a rather interesting pile of rocks that he had realised he had in fact grown quite a bit and it was with this in mind that he had gone exploring.

Strangely enough his little growth spurt had put him in a rather good mood - which was lucky for any others nearby - and as he heard movement and voices up ahead by the water he dropped to his belly and crept forwards.

If one had been looking they would have seen the movement of his body like a shadow and the peircing gaze of his blue eyes. Or if they had simply scented the air they probably would have located him with ease. For Hakan had not yet learned of how such a thing as wind could unmask him.

chemicalstar
Kizuka was caught slightly unaware by the voice; she jumped back splashing water around her. The voice brought her back to earth from her thoughts. She lifter her dark pink eyes and scanned her surroundings quickly and gasped with surprise in the sight of the leopardess standing infront of her on the island. Kizuka has seen leopards before in her life, sure, but never one colored in the same colors as she did...
As the leopard moved into the sun, her white fur with pink dots shone brightly, and kizuka could not take her eyes off her... she was pink! She had never seen another being the same color she was...
"Hel...Hello!"" she called back, trying to get rid of the surprised look on her face. "Didn't see you there!" Now relaxed, she gave the leoparded as friendly smile "Wow you know, if we were both lions i could say we were related!" She let out a giggle "I am Kizuka by the way!" She tooma step inside the lake, trying to decide whether to swin towards the leopard or to continue shouting. After a moment of hesitation, she decided she would rather be civil and introduce herself properly, so she swam to the island.

~Masamune~
The leopardess continued to smile happily. "I've never met anyone with a coat similiar to mine, not even my parents had pink on them!" The large female was joyful by nature, but right now she was simply excited. "My name is Pinki'ukamili, but you can call me Pinki!"

As the lioness swam towards the island, Pinki took a monent to gaze over the water, just to check there was nothing sinister moving around underneath the sparkling surface. It was whilst she was looking that a strange shadow caught her eye on the land. The shadow was moving! The leopardess cocked her head and narrowed her eyes. "Do you see that?" She motioned to Kizuka, just as she was pulling herself on to the island.

Kimaria
"What the 'ell?" Hakan muttered, eyes widening as he caught sight of the two rather 'pink' coloured creatures standing on the small island not too far away from him. One of them sort of looked like a lion...but not quite. In fact he wasn't sure these stupidly bright creatures were even real. Maybe they were simply figments of his imagination?

He crept forwards until he was in full view, his dark body moving to lay pressed against the bank of the lake as he peered at the two females from between the reeds.

They were moving, talking and now one of them was looking at him!

He fluffed himself up, the fur straightening along his shoulders and neck as a slither of fear and annoyance gripped him. He was easy to temper and for some reason he wasn't too keen on the bright things standing in front of him.

Then summoning courage he straightened and moved a few steps forward until his forepaws got wet in the water. "Oi yous two!" He yelled in a less than polite manner. "You 'urt my eyes!"

What a nice fellow...eh?

chemicalstar
Kizuka jumped on the island and shook her fur rather hastily. "Ah I am sorry if i splashed water all over you" she said to the leopard politely. "Pinki is such a pretty and fitting name! Nice to meet you!" and then she looked around after hearing Pinki's question... what was that shadow moving across the lake?.. "yes i can see it" she whispered " any ideas to what that is?" the shadow then streightened up, and kizuka saw it was a lion, just like her, but rather young, and dark. even though he was young in age, he spoke in a mannet only adult lions spoke to her, howveer she liked this young fellow with a spirit.
"yohoo there!" she shouted teasingly "yeah well nothing we can do about that" she laughed "i cannot change my fur color at will.. what about you pinki?" she winked at the leopard. then she turned at the young lion again "why dont you join us here?"

~Masamune~
Pinki laughed and shook her paws one at a time, allowing the tiny droplets to disappear into the ground. "Don't worry about it, it's too hot out here anyway...and it's very nice to meet you too!" Turning back to the strange shadow on the bank of the lake, she gasped as the young male lion revealed himself. She giggled and nuzzled Kizuka as she countered the lion's rather rude remarks. "You're too much!"

Grinning, she again turned back to the male. "You're rather sweet actually, saying that...it's almost as if you're comparing our beauty to the brilliance of the Sun!" One thing Pink wasn't was shy, and one thing she didn't lack was confidence.

Kimaria
The lion's nose wrinkled in annoyance at how chirpy and happy these others sounded, and at the lionesses invitation to join them he gave a small huff and lowered his gaze to the water.

The fact was he had never done any swimming before and he wasn't exactly sure how to do it. Was it the same as walking but without ground under your paws? He tilted his head in a questioning fashion, ears tipping forwards as he thought about the situation.

Then taking a step back he shook his head firmly. "Nah...I think I'll stay 'ere if yah don't mind." At the leopard's cheerful comments he narrowed his eyes and growled. "The sun is yellow, not pink."

chemicalstar
Kizuka giggled at Pinki's comment about their bright colors. She was liking this leopard more every passing second, she was confident and outspoken. her bright personality as well as color brought a peaceful feeling over kizuka. she smield again and whispered to pinki "i don't think that young one know how to swim! should we be cruel and tease him more or should we be civil and go to greet him across the lake?" she giggled with joy. she wouldn't want to tease this young dark lion so mcuh inr eality because she knew that might break his heart and pride... she remembered other young males lions she met when she was younger... well they wouldn''t take teasing so lightly.
she then turned to the dark lion before she got ready to swim on the other side. "well would you tell us your name before we got all wet just to meet you?" she let out another laughter. she became rather joyful in a matter of minutes after she met pinki. she wondered if this leopard had the same effect on every creature.

~Masamune~
Pinki smiled coyly. "Ahh, but what about the Sun while it's setting? The Sun can fade to all kinds of different colours, including pink!" As Kizuka spoke, the leopardess couldn't help but feel as if they were soul mates or something. Well, not soul mates, but certainly soul friends! Giggling under her breathe, she whispered back. "Let's go meet him!"

Without even waiting for hear the lion's name in response, Pinki plunged into the water, creating a huge splash which caused the water at the bank to rush up and wet the paws of the lion that waited in the bull rushes. Shaking her head out as she broke the surface of the water, laughing all the way, she started to make her way to the other side of the lake. "Come on Kizuka, the water's great!"

Kimaria
Hakan fluffed up once more in a rather cute fashion rather than threatening. In fact he didn't speak again until the leopard had swam almost the whole way.

He stood rigid, tail straight out behind him as he leaned forwards a little, baring his fangs in a menacing fashion. The tuft of his small 'mane' blew bakck away from his brilliant blue eyes and for a moment he did look rather noble.

"They call me Dark Guardian." He huffed, not really wanting to reveal his true name. His real name was for his family and perhaps a couple of friends if he ever made any. "Or Dark Warrior...whatever yah prefer." He shrugged, liking the title and hoping that one day when he was big and strong he really could be a warrior.

He'd protect his family from the dangers and he would destory anyone who tried to get in his way.

"You better not go getting me wet." He snapped as an after thought.

chemicalstar
Kizuka looked at Pinki with wide eyes. She loved how this leopard acted on impulse. She giggled and walked into the water right after Pinki "Ouch! It is coolddd" she made a funny face at pinki and stuck out her tongue.
She swam after pinki and get on the dry ground right after her.
The young lion was still there, and he looked rather cute now that kizuka was able to see him more clearly.
"Dark Guardian?" she coughed after hearing the dark one speak "what kind of a name is that?" she hesitated and shook her head. well it was up to him to give his real name, she was sure he would tell them when he felt secure enough. "anyways i am kizuka and this pink lady over here is pinki.. dark guardian?" she giggled under her breath.

~Masamune~
When Pinki reached dry land, she promptly shook herself off at a distance from the lion, respecting the fact that not all big cats like water. The spray she shook off her made a couple of tiny rainbows, which vanished as quickly as they appeared.

Once she was adequately dry, she moved back towards the lion and sat herself down in front of him. She was actually quite a bit bigger than he was, which she hadn't noticed when looking at him from across the lake. "Well aren't you just lovely?" She purred. "With eyes like those you'll be fighting the girls off once you're a little older!" She giggled along with Kizuka about his chosen name, but decided that the little dear must be going through a phase of somekind. "So, who or what exactly do you guard?"

Kimaria
His eyes snapped from the lioness to the leopard once more and after giving a small huff sound he sat down and stared at them for a moment. Already he found himself loosening up around the spotty one who he had come to realise wasn't a lion at all.

However the lioness was...well to be quite honest he couldn't help but think that she wasn't taking him very seriously.

"It's not a name. It's a title." He hissed, whiskers flinching as he cast his gaze between the femmes. "And for your information I'm already fighting off stupid girls. Thinking they stronger and better, grrr I'll show them. I'll cut them up with my claws I will!" Obviously he had missed the point, for at this moment in time the thought of 'mates' and 'love' had not even crossed this tempermental juv's mind. At this moment he saw females as nothing but a hindrance to his life.

"I guard my ma, my brother an' my sis. Stupid pridelanders think they're all so better than rogues. Peh.." He growled, "I show them one day, show them rogues are better, stronger, tougher!"

chemicalstar
Kizuka collected herself, because from his tone she understood the dark lion was not as young as he seemed intelligence-wise and sense the sarcasm in her tone. she nodded with a interested look on his face. "oh it is a title.. that makes sense then, i thought it was a strange name, but for a title i think it suits you" she smiled at the young one. she would make the cutest lion when he grew up, so she aggreed with pinki on that point, however, apparently he was not aware of his looks yet. "i think pinki meant you will be so good-looking that you will get many female fans" she nodded " i wonder if you get those eyes from your parents... it is nice that you guard them... i am sure they appreciate it too" there was no sarcasm in her voice anymore, she knew how that felt, being a rogue and being alert all the time against everyone else.
" i know what you mean... being a rogue is not easy... i wish i had a guardian like you hwne i was younger, alas i had no brothers or sisters... just me" she did not tell him she was once a rogue who is now living with the pridelanders, she did not want him to see her a s a treat because she was starting to enjoy hus company just as she enjoyed pinki's.

~Masamune~
Pinki chuckled as the young male went on about literally fighting girls, then nodded as Kizuka explained what she had originally meant and so on. "You're very handsome, and what a lovely set of spots you have! Id anyone can appreciate a good set of spots, it's mean!" She smiled warmly, eyeing the lion's spots which were barely visible but were still lovely in her eyes. "I have to say though, I've never met a spotted lion before...but saying that, I've never met a pink and white one either!" She let out another giggle. "Today is a wonderful day for meeting new friends!"

As the conversation shifted to rogues and Pride Landers, Pinki fell silent for a moment. It's not like she could discuss something she didn't quite understand, or had never experienced. "Um...what is it that makes these 'Pride Landers' so special?"

Kimaria
Hakan twitched his ears forwards and nodded thoughtfully, "I dun think anyone would like me much. I'm a bit...particular with who I talk to." He eyed them again as if letting them know he was granting a great honour upon them by remaining here with them.

At Kizuka's words he nodded again, drawing himself up and puffing out his chest in pride. "Well yeah I'm a pretty dependable sort." He muttered, "no one lays a claw on my family an' gets away with it. Specially those pridelanders - who by the way are the most despicable lions ever. They're all fluffy, happy-go-lucky things who go around hugging one another, peh, it's disgusting. Where is their pride and their territorial instinct?" He had to admit that the femme he had met wasn't like that...but she had to be the exception, in which case she wasn't much better.

chemicalstar
Kizuka realized they were in fragile territories right now. She turned to the male lion "you must value your freedom while you can, it is the most important thing you can have, after your family.. dont let them tie you down. i like the fact that you have such strong opinions, but someday you may meet someone who will change all your thought in a second.. i know i did" she said, thinking of mchele.
she then turned to pinki "it is getting late, i need to get going before it gets dark, i hate when i attract hyenas' attention in the dark becaseu of my color. they don't understand the fact that a lin can easily take a pack of them and keep figthing" she winked. she was never much of a hyena hater, but she was not in a modd for fighting that day. "it was a pleasure to meet you both and i hope i will see you again one day" and she turned to the lion "and you too dark warrior, i will remember you as the fierce warrior of dusk" she smiled and then nodding she turned back "i should get on my way"

~Masamune~
Pinki got up from where she was sat and gave Kizuka an friendly nuzzle. "I'm so glad to have met you, I hope we can be friends forever!" She gave a gentle wave of her paw as the pretty pink and white lioness made her way into the distance.

Turning back to the young male, she smiled. "I should be on my way too...as much as I would love to watch the sunset with you to show you all the pink bits, Kizuka is right...we're both far too bright to be staying out after dark..." Still smiling, she gave the male the same friendly nuzzle she had given Kizuka. "I'm sure I don't have to say this to a Warrior such as yourself, but do be careful! Don't go getting yourself into fights needlessly or anything like that...I want to see you again, live and well someday!" With a bow of her slender head, she turned to head in the direction of the jungle.

Kimaria
Hakan snorted and got up, moving slowly back to the water's surface to stare at his reflection in the fading light of day. Those two hadn't really been that bad...in fact he quite liked them.

He turned back to their fading forms and sighed, feeling strangely alone. "Nice to meet yah too." He whispered to no one but himself, "I'm Hakan'Mawasii..."

With another huff he gave an almost malicious grin and turned to trot off in the other direction, tail swinging behind him. So what if they didn't know his name. It had given him a mysterious reputation and one that had been boosted today.

Soon the whole area would learn his title and fear him.

Yes...Hakan was the Dark Warrior indeed.

Kimaria
Hakan stood. Hakan waited.

Just what he was waiting for however was anyones guess, for at first glance it seemed that perhaps he was lost in some sort of dream world. His body was held rigid and his tail lay motionless against the ground as he tipped his body forwards towards the bowl of water before him.

The waterhole was shallower than normal at this time of year and with the heat steadily getting worse it wouldn't be long before it had dissapeared altogether. Yet now that it wasn't very deep Hakan had decided it would be very suitable.

One would have to wait and see what for.

After another moment he put a paw into the cold liquid, a shiver running down his spine as he took yet another step. Then he paused again, drawing in a deep breath and casting his gaze to the far side of the bank.

you can do it. He urged himself, but yet he remained fixed in the same position on the very edge of the water.

Yes...Hakan was trying to swim...and failing.

chemicalstar
Kizuka looked around to see if there was anybody in sight. No, Mchele was not there, neither was anybody she met in the pridelands looking over her shoulder. she slowly lifted her body up and taking small steps at once she got away from the pridelands. Adventure time!
She could not explain the restless feeling inside her to another pridelander, they would not understand... so she tried her best to avoid any situations which would make it an obligation for her to explain her motives.
As she got near the border, she quickened her pace, maybe she would meet pinki again? or the dark cub who called himself dark warrior?.. she loved them both; pinki already felt like a sister and she had fun trying to figure out the cub.
she smiled to herself as she thought of them both, but her thoughts were disturbed by haste water splash sounds coming from the waterhole. she felt asomething was not right and ran to the shore of the waterhole--and there he was--dark warrior--and he was.. drowning? drowning! thought kizuka and without having a second thought she jumped into the water, grabbed the dark cub by the neck and pulled him out of the water with great effort. he was not as small as he seemed for sure. she lay him on the shore and rolled on the ground--breathing deeply.

Kimaria
Swimming...swimming...swimming...uhh? Attacking! Someone was attacking him! His mouth opened in a terror and anger filled yowling - mean to attract his mother - as he felt jaws clamp around the back of his neck. His body wriggled as he fought to escape but found that he was being dragged like a helpless cub out of the water and to the bank.

And no sooner had the 'stranger' released him did he scrabble desperately to his paws and swing round to face his 'combatant.' At the sight of the pink lioness however his angry snarl and growling sounds faded out to the mere wrinkling of his nose.

"What the 'ell was that for?!" He snapped, peering at her through the tresses of his small mane that had fallen wetly across his face.

"You females are all so darn crazy!" He was using anger now to cover up his shame of how easily he could be beaten if taken by surprise.

chemicalstar
Kizuka rolled back on her feet "...and this is the thanks i get..." she sighed "You got me worried to death! And here you are thinking i would attack you!" she shrugged, took another deep breath and got up. "I thought you were drowning, so i helped, but pardon my intrusion, i will watch you die from the shore next time!" she was so worried for an unknown reason, that this young cub would be hurt somehow that the adrenaline pumped into her body talked its way out of it as frustration.
she then realized she had no right to be angry, he should be as scared as she was.. "pardon my outburst, i did not mean to sound harsh..." she added, but you know my first experiences with swimming is not as pleasant as yours so i panicked..." she looked at the young one ".. dark warrior" she gave him a weary smile.

Kimaria
"You expected me to thank you for attacking me?" For in his opinion being rescued was supposed to be a lot less traumatising. He got to his paws and shook the stray drops of water from his fur before giving her a cold look - or tried to.
"I wasn't 'drowning' in fact I was barely even swimming! I can manage just fine." Perhaps he wouldn't have sounded so annoyed if his pride hadn't been so damaged, but he had an ego that sometimes even outshone other males of his age.
"Where's the other pink thing today?" He asked, sort of expecting to see the pair together all the time due to their colouration similarities.

chemicalstar
"Ok, in order to apologize for my sudden behavior would you like me to teach you how to swim? or if you were managing that fine i can apologize with.." she thought for a moment "lunch is from me?" she tried hard to make the young one smile, though she suspencted her joke would possibly fail on him. she felt that she had hurt his pride, but she preffered to do that rather than watching him struggle to death in the water. if she wasn't saved by a lion when she first tried to swim, she doubted she would be alive to begin with. it was humiliating for her at the beginning,t hat was true, but as time passed, she realized there are more important things in life than pride...
"ok pinki?" she answered the cub's question with another one "i dont know.. i was sort of expecting to see her around, that why i sneaked out..." she smiled "by the way i never catched your name yesterday have i? yet i am perfectly fine with calling you dark warrior too"

Kimaria
"Teach me?" He looked suddenly undecided for though it would have been good to have a teacher he wasn't sure whether his pride would survive it. If he learned to swim by himself then he'd have something to boast about, and yet he had to admit to himself he was a little afraid. The water looked scary to say the least and he wasn't sure whether he'd be any good.
He was strong, but swimming was a lot different from walking or running.
He overlooked her joke completely perhaps because he hadn't really understood it, but probably because he was thinking about other things. He snapped back to attention however as she began to speak about the other pink thing and nodded slowly. "Sneaked out? Where were you sneaking from?" He questioned, thinking it a strange thing for a lioness to do. "You never caught my name cos I didn't give it." He stated matter of factly, "and if you're okay with calling me Dark Warrior then you don't need to know it." Gah, it seemed he was being rather bratty today.
"I suppose however if yah insist on hanging around 'ere yah could teach me the basics...just so...just so I know I'm getting it right." He added hastily.

chemicalstar
Kizuka sighed, thinking someday he will grow out of the dark warrior phase "ok, honey call down i will not steal your name or anything.." she winked. she really did not get this cub but he was fun. that was probably why she was still there dealing with him. under the hard facade there was a possibility that this male was a gentle soul. maybe.
she skipped his question about where she was sneaking from and said "home" without giving any details because she remembered how sincerely this lion was against pridelanders. she would tell him her story when the time was right, and maybe when he was a little older and stopped making her call him dark warrior. stories of revenge was not for young ones, they poisoned souls like they did to hers.
"ah yes i would love to show you how to swim so you will know you are doing it right." she smiled happily. after all, if she thought him how to swim he would not have to worry about him drowning now would she?
she walked into the water " the key thing is not panicking.. because if you panic, you are bound to sink underwater in all that anxietly. if you don''t panic, the water will lift and and all you have to do is pushing it with your paws, like this.." she wam a little on the shallow side of the waterhole. then she got out of the water, and she carefully shook her fur, trying not to sprinkle any water on the young one. " like this..." she made the movement with one of her paws outside the water and waited for him to try it himself.

Kimaria
Hakan watched with great interest, paying attention to every movement she made in the water. It looked simple enough but he couldn't help but think it was goign to be difficult. It didn't matter too much however since the black juvenile was always up for a challenge.

He gave a small huff and nodded, trying to take everything in that she was telling him. He might have been a bit of a brat but he was a keen student, especially if he was going to learn something that could potentially be useful.

"Alright, 'ere I go. My turn now." He spoke as he trod forwards and into the water. However as soon as the bottom of the waterhole left his paws a feeling of panic did grip him and as he tried desperately to swim he found himself starting to sink.

He kicked powerfulyl with his back paws which aided on keeping him at the surface for a moment longer and a small yelp left his parted jaws. He felt like he was suffocating and he wasn't even underwater! It enveloped his boyd with such a strange and foreign pressure that he couldn't help but feel fearful. It just wasn't natural and it didn't help that wet fur became heavy.

He must have looked rather comical splashing about in the water with his wide-eyed stare.

chemicalstar
Kizuka hesitated before she jumped into water to help the youth, she knew that he wouldn't like it if she pulled him out again and she was definitely not going to suggest he gave up. swimming would be useful to him someday and he had the strength in him to overcome his fear. he would succeed soon enough.
she quickly swam next to him but she did not grab him by nic neck this time, she used her neck to balance him in the water "ok i am right beside you, don't panic, nothing can possibly happen to both of us when my feet are almost touching the ground ok?" she hoped this would encourage him and then added "you might need to swim to protect your family some day too.." she knew how keen he was on protecting his family from all harms.

Kimaria
He spluttered and nodded as he felt the elder move closer to him, suddenly feeling a little more stable. If she was willing to help him despite how grouchy he was she couldn't be all that bad, or so he had silently decided. He wouldn't tell her that of course, she would have to keep guessing, but he supposed he would consider this strange pink one a friend...for now.

At her words he drew himself higher up in the water, gaining a new strength from what she had spoken. Kizuka was right, he might need this skill to protect his family one day!

"I-it's not so h-hard." His voice was broken up only by the little splashes that kept catching him in the face. He turned in the water again at a slow arc before heading back to the bank at a rather slow and clumsy looking pace. He didn't want to tire himself out too much in case he slipped up again.

chemicalstar
Kizuka smiled as she swam behing him to the shore. he surely had so much spirit in him for sure. he would make a mighty warrior and possibly a leader some day if he kept his innonence, but with it gone he could make a tyrant too. she shievered as she stepped on the dry land. she would not want to see this cub walking in a darker path to prove himself.
"well, well, you really did know how to swim!" she said in a sincere tone "you just had to get rid of that panic" she nodded with approval. she suddenly felt too tired, it was not like her at all, but it must have been the excitement of that day's events.
she sat on the ground "and you can catch nice fish when you master your swimming" smiling she added "i love fish! they are hard to catch but as tasty as gazelle!" she licked her lips. thinking about food got her hungry. "say, dark warrior, do you feed your own family or do you help your mother while she is doing that?" she carelly chose her words; in both cases dark warrior would be considered as the alpha male of his family...

Kimaria
He stretched out on the bank, panting slightly from his efforts at swimming - it certainly was a lot tougher than walking. Yet a thought occurred to him that such an exercise could increase his strength and made silent plans to practise swimming every day. He'd build muscle in no time and the stronger he was the better he would be able to fight against others if the need called for it.

He yawned and turned his ears towards Kizuka as she spoke again, something about fish tasting as good as gazelle.

"Ma usually 'unts alone." He said after a moment's thought, "I stay behind and take care of my sis and brother," though in truth his brother could have quite easily taken care of himself. He flicked the mane out of his eyes and gaze up at the elder lioness coolly.

"Why'd yah ask?"

chemicalstar
"I need to go hunting soon, for Mchele and some other in the pride.. i was wondering if you would join in..." she nodded "but it is not in my place to take you for your first hunting, i am sure your mother will do a far better job then i would" actualy, living alone for a long time, kizuka had no choice other than becoming a strong and able hunter herself--that was the key to her survival. she was much stronger than she looked.
"so i should be on my way or the herds will move on to another space." she smiled "i am glad i met you dark warrior i had fun, thank you..." she didn't know why she thanked him but it felt right. "please take good care of your family, and i hope to see you again sometime, so you can teach me new moves in swimming!" she laughed softly as she got ready for her leave.

Amari Roleplay

Ty-chan
Days have passed since she had left Pridelands and her daughter to travel her own paths. She felt a bit sad to be apart of her golden girl but she knew Hisani would be safe. After all, she was with Muroki.

The day was getting hot one and Laini felt thirsty already. Mmmm, watering hole sounded temptating. For some while she examined the environment, searching for the sound or scent or sight of flowing water which she soon. Ah, there. A refresment.

Kimaria
Amari swaggered on his paws as he made his way towards his friend's lands, pausing only because of the parched throat that had been bothering him for a good while now.

In fact he quite sincerely believed that if he didn't drink sometime soon he'd probably pass out and he didn't think that would be such a good idea. So it was this that had caused him to alter his tracks slightly to follow the scent of water that was creeping closer with each stride.

The bulky lion was not at his happiest, but for now with the thought of drinking in his mind he felt a small smile tug at his features. This was just like the old days when he had travelled as a juvenile.

So...life wasn't all that bad, was it?

Ty-chan
After making sure there was no hungry predators in the water, Laini leaned down to drink. Oh, water was always so delicious, especially when you were thirsty. Purring slightly, she drank, not really caring to keep herself alarmed. So, she didn't notice Amari coming to her way.

Kimaria
Amari spotted her as she leaned over and found himself suddenly thinking back to the past. This other female looked...familiar? But he just couldn't place where he might have seen her before. With a small huff he moved closer and stood just a few meters behind her.

"You check the water for danger and not the land?" He chuckled, "don't worry sweetheart, I ain't gonna hurt such a pretty lioness as yourself."

Seemed he had entered the 'charmer' mode again.

Ty-chan
Her eyes opened almost instantly when Amari spoke but soon closed them again and sighed. Oh yes, she should have checked the land as well. Stupid, she blamed herself. Well, the milk was on the ground so no use to cry it for anymore.

She didn't feel like drinking anymore though. Not when someone was watching her behind her. So, she rose her head and turned to face lion who had managed to surprise her. "I guess I'm lucky then," she said, smirking while turning, her scars soon getting visable. She blinked in surprise. Oh, that anchor! It was familiar. But where she had seen him before?

Kimaria
He bowed his head towards her and moved slowly past to drink himself, lapping up thirstily for a long moment before raising his eyes to meet hers.

He caught her expression and gave her a questioning look, raising his brows ever so slightly. "You do seem awfully familiar." He spoke. "It's not like me to forget the name of a beautiful lady, though I guess I haven't been myself as of late."

"Anyway, I'm Amari."

Ty-chan
Laini let him drink. It was not like this would have been her watering hole. While he drank, she pondered where she would have seen him before.

"You're not looking stranger to me either," silver lioness admitted, sitting and feeling kind of amused. She remembered something about blushing to such comments in her juvenile times. "My name is Laini," she informed then.

Kimaria
"Nice to meet you Laini." He beamed, finding the whole meeting rather odd, "perhaps we met when we were younger? I used to travel a lot more then...the jungle, the southlands, here there and everywhere really. I did settle until recent events had me travelling again." His face constricted a little with sadness but a smile soon replaced it.

"We probably met back then if anything, that old life seems old and faded now." He admitted, trying to figure out why this lioness was so familiar. "Well, how has life treated you and why are you here all alone?"

Ty-chan
"Probably that was the case, though I'm pretty sure I couldn't be very young then," she guessed. "I rarely met other lions before...." Now she had to stop. Should she even tell her story further? Unable to face Amari anymore, she turned her head. She needed a moment to think. Feeling a bit uncomfortable under his gaze, she started to walk past him.

"Nevermind that," she spoke then and face him, forcing some cheerfulness into her voice. No way she would start moping now. "Life has been... okay," she told, not finding better word to desribe her situation. "It's strange to not have little cubs around me anymore."

Kimaria
"You had cubs?" He smiled, "well that's no surprise really, a bneautiful girl is obviously going to attract a male in the end." He grinned, mind accidently thinking back to his own 'family'.

He sighed, "how do you prepare yourself for something so life changing as being a parent? Is it just that mother's are better at it?" He sighed again, "or maybe I'm just not the father type."

Whoops...he'd probably said too much, but he did want his question answered for it was one he had never been able to make out.

Ty-chan
"Yes, I had cubs. They are adults now," she said, smiling, feeling kind of proud of telling that. Then she laughed.
"I didn't prepare myself to parenthood any way. It just happened," she explained. "Though, I have to admit. Sometimes I felt I wasn't ready for it. But I guess it's always like that with the first litter."

Kimaria
Adults...wow. His own son was still just a little thing, and to think he would some day be as big as himself was a scary thought. He drew in a shaky breath and sighed, would Mbari be okay without a father around?

"Yeah...to tell yah the truth that's how it happened with me. I thought I'd like to be a parent but...when it happened it sort of scared me off." He spoke softly, "does it ever go away? That fear of being a good enough parent?"

It was kind of comforting to know there might be others who felt as he did about parenthood.

Ty-chan
"I think it haunts us trough the whole parenting time," she pondered. "I don't know if it will be easier with second litter. I haven't tried." She gave a shrug. Her head turned up and she looked at the sky. Yes, there he was, probably watching her at the moment. Laini wished he could have been here, helping her of taking care of their cubs.

Kimaria
"You do? Then I'm not alone in this. You don't know how much relief that gives me! Doesn't help the fact that I promised never to set foot in the pridelands again though." He growled a little, "I pretty much ruined my life with my stupid behaviour."

He fell silent then, giving both of them time to dwell on their mates.

Maawio...would she ever forgive him?

Ty-chan
Now, she rose her eye brow. He was avoiding Pridelands? "Mind me asking what happened?" she asked, looking a bit conserned and all like she would listen if he wanted to talk.

Kimaria
His ears twitched backwards as he nodded solemnly. "Well basically I found the whole responsibility thing a bit scary. I wasn't around much at home and...well...got caught flirting with a pregnant female. My mate must have assumed that I was the father - which I wasn't! Then she left..and...and I couldn't stop her." He shook his mane, "she deserves better."

He shifted to gaze at his reflection in the water, another sigh breaking free from his maw.

"I never got to say sorry, or tell her how much she meant to me."

Ty-chan
Laini listened his story, not really sure, could she symbathize with him very well. She didn't really approciate flirting others when in relationship but she knew the pain to be away from the person dearest to you. "Maybe you can apologize to her in some day," she tried to comfront.

Kimaria
He nodded, knowing very well that his actions - though innocent at the time - could be percieved as something more. It was just in his nature to openly appreciate the beauty in other females, it was his personality flaw and something that he had never quite overcome.

"I suppose so...one day. If we ever meet again." He flicked his ears towards her and put on another smile, "though I don't deserve forgiveness."

He got to his paws and stared out across the horizon, "somehow I think it'll be better this way...me living my life and she living hers." Though he didn't truly believe his words it was the only thing that kept him going.

Ty-chan
Laini listened and kinda understood. "Perhaps." That was all she could say. Man, was she really this bad in comforting others. "Who knows what the future brings."

Kimaria
"Perhaps." He agreed slowly, moving away from her and around the water. He turned back to glance over his shoulder and smiled, "You knew Asikari once, didn't you? Or am I mistaken?" He tried to search her face for an answer and then turned to head off once more, pausing to hear if she would give an answer.

Ty-chan
Ah, so from there they knew each other? "Yes, i knew Asi once but it has been long since I met him last time," she admitted and smiled, glad to talk about something else for change.

Kimaria
"Ah, then that is probably how we met, old Asi always had a group of ladies with him." He smiled remembering how he'd always been jealous of that. How could such a grouch be such a magnet to the females? Did girls just prefer badboys?

"I miss those carefree days and idle banter with that old misery guts I call a friend." He laughed, wondering how they'd managed to form a friendship after the fight they'd had.

Uzushi'bueta RP

Kimaria
Uzushi was humming to himself as he lay amongst an array of rather pretty flowers. At that moment in time his nose was buried in one rather pinkish looking one, inhaling it's sweet scent deeply.

sniff....snifff...achoo! Apparently pollen didn't suit well with Uzushi's nose, but atleast he wasn't talking to himself - as he so often was.

"Why do you like the flower so much buzzy?" He asked, moving his head around to watch the strange striped insect settle onto yet another flower. "Does buzzy not have the sneezles?" okay so he was talking to the bugs again...what a surprise...

chemicalstar
Kijani fell down from the rock she was resting on with horror. She was having a nice nap and then she suddenly heard a loud noise--a sneezing noise?.. She got up cursing her absentmindedness and stretching her right front leg as she fell on and hurt it.
Slighly limping she made a half circle around the rock to see who disturbed her in her sleep. The looked in front of her, to the creature which was maybe a few feet away from her, with surprise--how could such a small thing make such a loud sneezing noise?.. and who exactly was he talking to? Kijani's curiosity was arised.
She limped in the wild dog's direction, careful not to make a sound so she could hear him speak to his invisible friend--buzzy? Kijani tilted her head and approached wild dog from behind. After all, he disturbed her in her sleep and mischievous Kijani saw it her right to spook him out.
"hellow there!" she called out loudly, hoping to startle th little animal.

Kimaria
Uzushi's head snapped around at the bright and loud voice directed somewhere behind him. "Woah!" He exclaimed as he rolled clumsily onto his side and almost smushed the 'buzzy' as it flew from flower to flower to collect the pollen.

"What are you? I never seen a green animal before. I seen a blue one though, my brother is blue yah see which is strange cos my mama nor my papa are that colour. He's a bit strange but we don't speak much. Have you seen my brother? I doubt you could miss him cos even though you bright you blend in with the grass." He paused for breath and got to his paws, tail wagging behind him.

"You all spotty too, you have pretty fur, prettier than mine. My mama says I'm pretty with all my patchy colours but you prettier. You don't look like a wild dog cos your ears are too small, are you a lyyyy-oon?"

He paused and blinked up at her with large green, curious eyes.

chemicalstar
Kizuka smiled at the wild dog--she was happy she was able to startle him even for just a little. She gave out a soft laughter "I am a cheetah, you never seen one like me before?.." she asked curiously afterwards. The wild dog was a fast talker and she had a hard time keeping up with him, but she enjoyed his enthusiam "I am green, so most people call me Minty. You can call me so, too" and then she shook her head "I am afraid i haven't seen your brother, i haven't seen a blue wild dog in my life actually. that should be sight to see!" she sat on the ground comfortably, not leaning too much on her hurt leg.
"yeah some one my cheeath relatives are spotty too-i guess they are a family trait, and why, thanks for the compliment, but i can say you are one of the most handsome wild dog i have ever seen, your mama is right" she nodded. "lion? oh no! god forbit! they never move from one place to another..i could not stant their way of living!"

Kimaria
He beamed up at her, large ears focusing upon her so that he could draw her voice in towards him. It was always exciting meeting new people, especially ones that could talk back. The buzzies tended not to speak, in fact all they did was buzz.

"You should see my brother someday!" He squeaked, tail continuing to wag. "He doesn't get out much, in fact none of my family do, I don't wanna be like them. I have a quest! And as soon as I'm bigger I'm off to go on it!" The prospect of the journey excited the little chatterbox indeed.

"I wish I had spots, they all dizzying and pretty." He moved to press his nsoe against her chest. "Lyy-oons are scary, or so I'm told. They are big and mean, you big but not mean." He continued with the observation. "I'm very glad you're not a lyy-on."

"Oh! I'm Uzushi-bueta but that name is too long so you can shorten it however you like. I don't mind what I'm called so you choose." He grinned, "you better company than the buzzies."

chemicalstar
Kijani''s eyes grew bigger "A quest! That sounds very exciting! What will be this quest about?" Kijani was all for adventure, and seeing far and new lands always excited her "Boy if you ever make it to that quest count me in too!" she let out yet another laughter "I wanna see the whole world!"
Then she giggled at wild dog's comments about her spots and him pressing his nose on her chest "I dont smell minty if that''s what you are trying to guess" Actually, she never knew what mint smelled like, never having seen one in her life. However, she truested it was green just like her mother told her so she let everyone call her so.
"Nice to meet you Uzushi! what does your name mean?" she asked curiously. "and what exactly are there buzzes? your imaginary friends or something???"

Kimaria
The wild dog nodded matter-of-factly and beamed up at the cheetah once more, a glimmer of his tiny teeth flashing pearly white in the sunshine. "I'm going on a quest to find the end of the rainbow!" He explained, "then have a wish granted as a reward!" He bounced lightly on the tips of his paws and snuffled again.

"You smell of the earth." He said after a moment's thought, "it a nice smell very much I think, not too strong but there none-the-less. I wonder if I smell like the earth!" He raised a paw to try asnd sniff at it. "Can't smell nothin'." He muttered with a small frown.

"Uhh my name? It means chatterbox, apparently it's suitable but I don't know why. I'm not a box and I don't really understand what chatter means." He made a face. "And the buzzies! Oh they're those little things that fly around, all stripey yellow and black. They make a buzz sound as they fly." He pointed towards the said 'buzzy' with his stub of a snout.

chemicalstar
Kijani was liking this little chatterbox more and more and she could not help but tease him a little "But you know, as the saying goes if you cross under the rainbow you will change genders.. to get to the end of it don''t you have to walk under it?" She definitely did not believe this but then again she never knew someone who walked under the rainbow did she?..
Kijani smelled the little head of the wild dog "You smell like flowers! What a weird smell for a wild dog to have! I bet you like flowers then eh?" she asked.
Kijani thought the name fit the wild dog well but she thought it might break his heart to know the whole truth so she made it a little milder "Chatterbox means someone who liked talking--in a good sense of course! Like.. errrr.. someone people enjoy listening to?" she shrugged--she was never good with synonims or manipulating words.
"Oh! Bees! Those are called bees!" she sighed "For a moment I thought you were talking to an invisible friend and got worried about you! wouldn't like to see you go crazy you know" she giggled and then looked around "ah it is getting rather hot, i will go to the lake to swim a little! it was nice to meet you little one! remember about the quest, won't you?" she asked as she turned back to leave.

Kimaria
He stared at her in wonder, thinking more of his quest and how special it would be. He had never thought about having company but maybe it wouldn't be so bad, especially with such a bright-pelted cheetah such as Minty.

At her compliments of him smelling like flowers he gave a small yip, folding his ears back and lookking rather pleased. "Guess I can't smell it cos my nose is used to flower smells. I like flowers cos the buzzies like them.

And me. Said the familiar voice in his head, the voice that could be considered to be an imaginary friend to most.

"Bees?" He repeated slowly, "I think I prefer my name for them. It makes more sense." He spoke, a little unsure of why one with an imaginary friend would be considered crazy. He simply smiled and yipped a goodbye. "see you later Minty!" He squeaked, turning back to the flowers.

Was he crazy?

Of course not Bu, you're special.

He liked the sound of that!

Hakan'mawasii RP - Part 1

Kimaria
Hakan had continued to do his daily swimming ever since the pink lioness had shown him how, and with each day he grew better. Already he could feel the muscles in his legs becoming stronger and his stamina increasing and this drove him to continue his little exercise routine.

He was of course completely oblivious to the fact that lions weren't really supposed to swim and had gotten a lot of strange looks from passers by.

But Hakan didn't care what others thought. He did this to protect his family, he had to be strong in order to keep them safe and so long as they needed him he would be there. Whoever heard of a weak bodyguard?

He pulled himself out of the water and shook his fur roughly before moving to a lay on a nearby rock, stretching out in the sun to give his fur time to dry.

Swimming and sunbathing, ah what a life!

Baneful
Mrost, despite his otherworldly origins was still very much leonine, a creature that didn't much approve of major strenuous labour in the afternoon if it wasn't neccissary. As such, he he had changed his flight course towards one of the waterholes that dotted the lands, figuring that he could lie in the shade and possibly cool off in the water if he felt like it.

He spotted a likely looking one and decended, backwinging for a couple of meters to smooth his alighting on the ground. He landed not so daintily, his armour making quite a bit of noise. He didn't much like flying, but like anything else it had to be endured. At least he was on solid ground now.

He sensed something alive nearby as he headed into the shade of one of the trees that clung to the waterhole's edge but didn't investigate right away. It was probably a zebra or something and would just run away. If it was a lion, it had probably heard him land.

He yawned widely and placed his helmeted head on his forepaws.

Kimaria
To say he was surprised would be an understatement, but at the strange sound of flapping Hakan had turned his head to set eyes on the most strangest thing he had ever seen.

A big. Blue. Flying...lion!

Hakan's mouth practically swung open on its hinges and his bright blue eyes - a gift inherited from his mother - widened like two perfectly round saphires. Was he imagining things or was that thing over there truly alive? If so, was it dangerous?

Giving a small huff Hakan threw back his head to shake the tuft of mane from his eyes and stood up, creeping forwards to get a better look. Just as he had thought the lion looked very real. His fur moved in the breeze, his scent twitched at his nostrils and the yawn emitted the faintest of sounds that caught at Hakan's ears.

Well this just wouldn't do!

Puffing out his chest the juvenile strutted forwards with the posture that one might hold if they were important.

"Excuse me!" His voice was gruff despite it's high-pitched tone, "are you some sort of bird?" Well...it was sort of an intelligent question...but rather unintelligent at the same time.

Baneful

Mrost glanced over at the juvenile as he spoke, going from apparently paying him no attention at all to his full riveted interest. He looked him over once, his slitted eyes taking in his build and posture before he replied, a smirk creeping over his features.

"No, not a bird. Birds are flimsy crunchy things. My kind don't even have a name, not one within memory. Lets just say for now that I'm a somewhat "unique" lion in many respects." he flicked his spiked tail, still watching the other carefully. What he was actually looking for was a particular feeling, a vibe, something he couldn't explain to anyone but which indicated that yes, this individual was one of those who could have an impact on others.

His lack of fear in the face of a spiky, vicious looking god was already a positive sign.

"My technical name is War, but call me Mrost."

Kimaria
Hakan's ears flicked as the God spoke and continued to stare at him with his brilliant blue eyes. There was something about this lion that he felt he respected and yet he put it down to the fact that he looked so mighty. It would have been wonderful to look like him! So imposing and strong! Hakan wondered if this image was helped by the fact that the lion was covered in some sort of very tough looking skin that protected otherwise vulnerable parts of his body.

Either way Hakan would not fear him unless he was given reason to, and for the moment everything seemed quite okay.

"Birds," Hakan agreed, "make a good snack." He had discovered this when walking upon a hatchling that had unfortunately fallen from its nest.

"I'm Hakan'Mawasii, eldest son of Kinja." He stated with some degree of pride. In his mind it was better to be a rogue than a member of a some stupid pride and he was quite content being as such. "Some call me Dark Warrior." He said with a shrug.

"Did you fly from some faraway land?"

Baneful
Mrost nodded slightly, still apparently more in his thoughts than anything else. He was often most talkative when in one of these distracted moods, definately less dangerous than when he was in a snappish, intolerant one.

"Anything fragile and beautiful tastes good, it's a matter of principle." he smirked, one of the joys of war was that it all too often was responsible for taking away and mutilating that which was frail and wonderful.

He made note of the juvenile's name, noting his parentage as well just in case he ever needed to draw upon the knowledge. However, his gaze turned withering as he spoke of his alias. "You do not look like a warrior to me, and I know warriors."

"Yes, you could say that, I fly where I please, the last place I alighted was vast human ruins very very far from here. But I have to keep moving wether I like it or not, talent often shows up in the strangest places."

Kimaria
"Never thought of it that way, though I wouldn't say a baby bird is beautiful, I'm surprised their mothers can even love something that looks like that." He coughed and struck the ground with his tail.

His nose wrinkled in slight annoyance at the War God's further comment but decided not to let it get to him, instead he retorted with equal adamance; "Perhaps because I am young and inexperienced?" He drew himself up and tipped his head at a somewhat proud angle, "I'll have you know that I have been in my fair share of fights and that I need only to hone my skills to become a true warrior. It's hard to teach yourself something you know little about, though I try my best.' He nodded sharply and grew interested in the God's last comment.

Talent? What sort of talent was he talking about? Perhaps he could take the lions name of 'war' as a hint?

"What sort of talent exactly?" He could not hide the interested curiosity from his young face.

Baneful

"Sometimes killing something ugly that is more than beautiful to someone else holds the greaest rewards of all." he smirked cryptically.

However, that smirk swiftly turned to a toothy grin at Hakan's irritation at his comment, often condecension was a good way to find out someone's true motivations. "Fights with fools and weaklings count for little, a true warrior takes on those above him in age and knowledge and comes out the victor on equal terms. Yes you are inexperienced and youth often goes hand in hand with that. Honing your skills will not be enough, I'd say that attitude needs a little honing too, otherwise you will never rise above the rank of a bully. Besides, too much experience can kill you, are you prepared for that eventuality?"

He grinned slightly and scratched his chin with a black claw. "Though I don't doubt you try your best. Most young individuals do, until they hit an obstacle and give up." he eyed him again, as if questioning wether he would do the same.

"A talent that cannot be taught like hunting or even conversationalism. Ambition, ruthlessness and a drive to oust all who would stand in your way, that's what I seek, at least insomuch as I can capture it in words. There is more to it than that but it will suffice."

He ruffled his wings "I look for an attitude. So far in all my wandrings I have found one with those traits, I need more."

Kimaria
Hakan drew in every single word that the lion spoke as if it were rules that all had to follow. Indeed it did seem as if this lion had a few similiar views on how things should be, and yet he was different too. Perhaps because he viewed the whole world when Hakan viewed only the opponents in the near vicinity.

He fought and would fight to protect his family, he hadn't even thought about his death in such a matter. In a way he felt immortalise by his ambition and his drive to become strong, and yet the sudden realisation that this was not the case hit him hard.

If he died then no one would remain to protect his mother and siblings and that just could not be the case. He had to survive for their sake.

"A bully? I am more than that, I am the guardian of my family!" He frowned deeply, a dark flash shimmering through his now icy eyes. "Though you're right, my fights have been nothing but scraps. I train to become stronger, what else could I possibly do?" He growled and could not help but think he was missing something vital. How could he fight those bigger than him and win? Was it a matter of using something else other than brute strength? Agility? A good defense? He gave a mental shrug.

"I don't know about ambition, but I do have the will to protect those I love no matter what the cost. I would die before letting any harm come to them." He snorted.

"And what will you do with these chosen ones?" Hakan was still interested despite the fact that he realised he had been ruled out as one of them. Maybe he hoped to get a few hints on how to become a better warrior - though it was probably more of curiosity than anything else.

Baneful

Mrost was interested in this juvenile, not many lions showed an inclination to battle at that age, nor were they willing to heed advice, particularly not advice given to them by a creature as strange as he was. He could feel the sort of aura he sought in Hakan, although in a more positive manner than the way he felt it from Nyek. This lion would fight for a more noble cause than simply power for power's sake. To the god of war, good and bad were merely points of view to be taken into account.

Equal numbers of atrocities were commited in the name of good as in the name of evil.

"Guardians are not warriors then, all they are are slaves to their own fear and weakness. They will do anything to hold onto what makes them comfortable and safe, never venturing beyond the bounds of their family ties." he frowned "They will never truly know power or enjoy the thrill of battle because always, always will their achilles heel, their family play on their mind. If you walk that path then someday you will meet a true warrior who, like a true warrior will target your weakness over you. You could lose your family."

He spoke from memories he could only feel, things he hadn't seen happen but knew as part of himself.

"Perhaps then you will become a warrior, but a vengeful one, angry at the world. Seek not to protect your family only, protect yourself." he shrugged "But whatever, I digress, it is tactics you require to gain the upper hand on an opponent larger or more powerful than yourself."

"My chosen ones?" he grinned "I teach them what they need to know, offer them my protection in times of need and take great interest in their daily affairs and plans. Why, do you consider yourself worthy of that title?"

Kimaria
It was the lack of a father in this young lion's life that had been the main cause of his 'violent tendencies'. For though he had a loving mother and two siblings he adored there was no one the male lion he could look up to and wish to become when he was older. For he was the eldest male in his small family and as such had taken it upon himself to be their protectors. They were the things most precious to him and towards them he was the most loving family member anyone could ask for.

It was this protectiveness that brought out his temper and it had all begun when that pridelander cub had attacked his dear sweet sister.

He wanted to become like a stealthy assassin, swift, powerful and feared amongst his own kind. He wanted to make sure those who upset his family paid the price with their lives. Yet as he listened to Mrost's words he suddenly realised how right this collosal lion was.

By striving to become their guardian he could put them at greater risk, yet in his heart a guardian and a warrior were the same thing. He thought of himself as his mother's soldier, ready at her side to leap into battle if it was ever needed.

At the word 'slave' the juvenile bristled, his eyes narrowing to dangerous slits of blue. He would not have chosen such a harsh word and yet the fact was that Mrost was right! His family was his strength but it was also his weakness and one day they could be targetted because he had picked a fight with the wrong lion.

All he knew was that he wouldn't let that happen.

He remained silent until the great lion had stopped talking, absorbing his words of tactics and worthiness. Then drawing in a great sigh the young male opened his mouth to speak.

"I will never let anyone lay a claw upon my family, I will sleep with one eye open and I shall move with one ear turned in their direction." He growled, bearing his fangs. "I shall murder those who try to harm them, kill them and their family. I shall make them suffer, so why would any choose to do such a thing when they know the consequences?" For he didn't know of anyone who would want to put their family at death's door.

"I want to become stronger and I will, I shall become a guardian and a warrior. I will hunt and I shall protect." He snapped his jaws closed and drew himself up again. "I consider myself worthy of being one of your 'chosen' but whether that is true or not I leave to you. If you are willing to teach then I am willing to listen and learn. I will do anything to make sure those I love are protected and those I hate are punished."

He stood to attention, every muscle in his body rigid as he awaited the answer. The look of determination never left his serious face and as the wind blew the tuft of mane into his eyes he knew that chosen or not he would become stronger somehow.

Baneful
Mrost did not know the root of the dark juvenile's anger or motivation, he could perceive only the thoughts of those who had truly given themselves up to war, resigned themselves to soldiering towards a goal. Hakan was still an enigma to him, but a familiar enigma. A desire to protect was indeed a reason that he deemed valid of a warrior. Knights and Samurai of the fast had given their lives willingly for that reason and no one could deny their status as warriors.

He stayed slilent for a time, apparently considering the lion's words and coming to his own decision, really it was foregone, he had made his choice, but for the look of it he held out.

"You say you will become strong for them, that is motivation enough I'd wager. But know this, once you start along that road you can never turn back, for every lion who would harm the ones you love that you defeat, another stronger one will arise. You falter, for even a moment and you will lose to them. I have watched warriors, knights and all kinds set off with no goal but to defend their family, but along the way they forget that not everyone is the same as them. This world is riddled with lost souls, those individuals with no ties or morals, they would not care of the repercussions so long as they hurt you, they need no more motivation than that."

He looked thoughtful, eyeing the determination present in the lion's stance.

"But if you are willing to embrace that your choice to fight the world for your family is nothing short of a double edged sword, I will take you under my wing as one of the few chosen and teach you what you desire to know."

Raising a paw he added

"But know this, should you take my teachings and show hesitation and a weakness of heart and mind towards others, it will not be other lions who take your family from you, it will be me." he flicked his tail

"I cannot and will not abide weakness in those I deem worthy."

Kimaria
Hakan couldn't help but feel nervous as the silence drew out and found himself finding comfort in the lion's voice. It seemed the male was wise and definately someone that he himself could look up to. He had never really wondered about his father before but he couldn't help but like to think that he had been a warrior himself. It was something to dream about at the very least.

It shocked him slightly to think that others would put their own families at risk but angered him more. Yet in a way wasn't he doing the same thing by following this path? He frowned, his brain beginning to hurt by all the conflicting views flowing through it.

"I am willing to do anything to protect them." Hakan stated, "anything." He stressed that one word so that the lion knew how serious he was. Maybe it was foolish of him to make such a rash decision but Hakan had the feeling it would only do him good.

This was his purpose in life and he had to follow it.

The path of fate had been laid beneath his paws and all he had to do was walk it, if that meant pain and suffering along the way then so be it. As long as it was him that was getting scratched and not his family he was fine with it.

"Sir Mrost!" Hakan spoke, "if I show such a weakness then that is a worthy punishment. I promise you now that I shall never let you down. I shall continue to learn and follow as long as breath draws from my lungs." He straightened his posture and moved this tail so it swayed lightly from side to side.

"For my family, for you and for myself I shall try my best to become a warrior that will make me worthy of being one of your chosen."

And so it began.

Hakan'mawasii RP - Part 2

Kimaria
Hakan continued to gaze up at the blue lion with an expression that couldn't be more serious if he had tried. His body ached slightly from where he had stood rigid and yet it didn't feel right to let himself relax in the presence of this huge lion.

Hakan was his apprentice now and he knew he was expected to be nothing less than perfect.

Clearing his throat he raised his head and peered at Mrost between the tresses of his little mane. "So what happens now?" He asked, "will training start straight away or will there be a test or something first?" He couldn't help but think things had happened a little too easily. Life was supposed to be difficult and horrid for the most part and yet he had been accepted by this powerful lion after just a short conversation.

Perhaps Mrost had seen something in him that showed promise? Hakan hoped so.

Baneful

Mrost pondered for just a moment what to do first, perhaps a bit of a test /would/ be a good idea. Put the juvenile on his toes, remind him that he'd have to work hard to attain his goal, show him the vast learning curve that lay ahead. He flicked his tail, setting the spikes clattering and in a single fluid movement, got to his paws.

"A test is in order. But this test I do no expect you to pass, not until your time training with me is over. It will be the decider of when you have become a true warrior and I have no more to teach you."

He donned his illusion, in a fell swoop losing everything that made him appear godlike, standing before Hakan as a regular lion, regular other than his odd colouring and slitted eyes.

"Your training will end when you manage to knock me down, to land a blow like that upon a god is more than some mortals can hope for. I will make sure you can." Mrost believed in throwing the student in at the deep end, make him edgy about how difficult the other tests would be.

"This test will end when I deem your efforts sufficient or you manage to make contact." he smirked, he was faster than he looked, contact was a tall order, even with his illusion, as he intended, sapping his energies.

"Come on!" and with that he launched himself in a vast leap over Hakan, landing to face the dark juvenile, his every muscle tensed for movement.

Kimaria
His heart pounded in his chest and as Mrost shed himself of all the qualities that a God would expect to have he realised just how powerful this other must be.

Something quivered inside the juvenile as Mrost spoke his words - somethign that could only be considered excitement. This was his chance to prove that he was not just a weakling cub and that he had in fact grown in strength. He was sure of the fact that he was stronger than before only because of the muscle that had started to develop due to his swimming lessons, and yet this would be the real test.

He could never hope to achieve the strength of a God but he'd sure give it his best shot!

Hakan had time to lower his head slightly - though there was no need - as Mrost leapt over him and in a second the youngster had whipped around to face the other in combat. His muscles tensed and as his eyes scanned Mrost's form he knew that the God was ready for him.

With a small growling sound ripping from his throat Hakan tore forwards, forepaws outstretched and claws unsheathed as he made a predictable lunge towards Mrost's chest. Though it was probably not the best place to attack as it was also protected by a thick mane Hakan wanted to use this first move to judge just how strong and agile his opponent was.

Baneful
The blue god smirked at the juvenile's first attack, using the "test" as a way of getting a grip on what needed to be improved. The first thing he noted was a vague predicatability in Hakan's movements, feign attacks as he learned them would get rid of this.

He dodged the attack by once again leaping, this time to one side, making sure to keep his tail just tauntingly out of reach, his movements were lazy, almost appearing half hearted, but that was the way he fought, as though every attack was ill timed and off center. He even left moving till the last minute, making it appear he wasn't as fast as he would be expected to be.

Kimaria
He was fast, but not that fast! Hakan was given confidence by the fact that he had been close to touching him even on his first attack! Did that mean that he was strong?

He skidded to a halt and span around to face the blue lion again, eyes watching the somewhat elegant moves that he was making. He made everything look effortless when Hakan found that he needed to draw strength and stamina for each attack. He wanted to be like that! He wanted to fight with as little effort as it took to walk.

He crouched down a little, tail flicking as he shuffled sideways in the grass, eyeing up his 'prey' as he tried to decide what next to do. Then again he rushed towards Hakan, trying to predict the lions movements. In doing so his charge forwards also saw him moving to the left in hopes that the lion would try and dodge and fall into his 'trap.'

Atleast he was trying to be smart...

Baneful
Mrost was pretty impressed by Hakan's abilities, for a young lion, he seemed to have already grasped some of the fundamentals such as never leaving your back open to attack. His quick thinking was also good to see, he'd only just begun and already he'd figured out that simply charging in wouldn't cut it.

Still Mrost had learned to spot feignts like that long ago. Nevertheless he thought he'd be a little tormenting, he dodged to the left but instantly whipped out the back of his paw, intending to knock Hakan backwards with enough force to maybe knock the air of his lungs but not to harm him significantly.

"Thinking on your feet I see. Good."

With Mrost every approval was met with an equal degree of pain, he didn't mollycoddle.

"But you can't trick a trickster."

He smirked. "Okay, this time I'll stand still, hit me as hard as you can, wherever you think you'd do most damage." and with that he sat down, tail flicking behind him, making it unclear wether he'd counter this one too.

Kimaria
The youngster was bowled backwards and landed in a rather undignified heap on the ground where he lay for a moment to catch his breath. This lion was strong - not that he had expected anything less - and despite being shown up he couldn't help but feel glad that Mrost was taking his time to train him.

Mrost's compliment caused him to look up suddenly, ears swivelling forwards to focus upon him. At his further comment Hakan gave a rather sheepish smile and shrugged his shoulders before pulling himself up to his paws once more.

He staggered slightly but caught himself, drawing in a deep breath to help his lungs recover from the strike. Mrost's next orders came of a surprise but Hakan did not question them, he had faith that the lion knew exactly what he was doing.

Preparing himself he tilted his head and gazed along Mrost's form. Where could one as small as himself hit a lion that would do the greatest damage. He'd always assumed the face would be a weakness yet that was too high up for Hakan to reach easily. His neck and chest were covered in that thick mane and his sides offered no where that he could really sink his teeth or claws into. With a small huff one coul see the concentration that lined every part of his face. Then slowly as he came to his decision he lowered himself and slowly circled round, blue eyes watching Mrost's every move.

He wasn't sure whether he'd even be close to getting it right but for now Hakan could only see one option. He wasn't sure about damage but he expected it could annoy a lion if such an attack was performed.

So summoning his courage Hakan leapt forwards, claws unsheathed as he moved to try and press himself against Mrost's tail.

Baneful
Mrost watched Hakan pick himself up from the blow without so much as a whinge, a good trait, if he'd hit most youngsters like that they'd have freaked out. His slitted eyes followed the dark lion's gaze as he seemed to pick and choose his targets and was amused when he headed behind him. He didn't move though, simply stayed put, the attack on his tail was no surprise but didn't mean it didn't hurt.

Still, Mrost wasn't a stranger to pain and despite the irritating waves of the stuff that lanced along his spine from his apprentice's surprisingly sharp claws, he didn't even flinch.

He smirked, amused and looked around, Hakan probably didn't know how close he had come to actually messing with Mrost's illusion, most of his illusion was focussed on the iridecent almost glass orbs on his tail.

"Not exactly a deadly spot to attack." he stated "An opponent could use an attack on their tail to their advantage, it's not hard to double back and punish severely for something like that. But.." and he waved a paw "..since I assume you are taking this on a case by case thing and I /am/ armoured pretty much entirely at the front, it's a good choice. "

He stood up again and attempted to jerk his tail away from the other, as he did so, shedding his illusion. The test had been successful, he had determined a little more information about the lion than he knew prior.

"Your skills are above par for your age but absolutely rock bottom on the scale of the rest of things."

Another idea struck him and a devious smirk curled across his maw.

"Now I'm going to test your courage and mettle." he snapped into action, and, using his true speed, spread his wings and made to snatch the juvenile up in his forepaws, carrying him aloft.

Kimaria
Pleased with the words that his master spoke Hakan nodded wordlessly, moving back away from him to gaze up at his collosal form. He puffed out his chest a little and smirked as he stood up only to find the tail slipping out from under his paws.

"It might not have been the best choice but on the whole it could have been worse." He agreed quietly, knowing that if he'd tried to attack a shoulder or neck he would have been much closer to those ferocious jaws that were filled with deadly teeth.

He took the comments without a fuss, knowing that they were true for the most part and hoping that in the end he would be able to rid himself of this cubbish way of fighting. He wanted to become stronger and if taking these comments contructively would help then he would do so. Determined not to get put off by them he straightened himself and opened his mouth to accept the next test, only to find himself being snatched up in the lions great forepaws.

Then suddenly the ground slipped away from him and his stomach did a strange flop that made his queezy. Oh dear...

He hung from the great beast's paws, dangling completely at his mercy and tried his very best not to look at the ground whirling past his feet. It was at this point that Hakan realised why lions shouldn't be given wings. They didn't have the stomach for such acrobatic feats! Or he didn't anyway.

Remaining perfectly still Hakan couldn't help but force his eyes closed, mouth parting in a silent plea. "My stomach doesn't like flying!" He called to the lion which was followed by a nervous chuckle.

Baneful

Mrost flapped his wings powerfully, intent on gaining altitude, as usual it was completely beyond logic that he should even be able to leave the ground, nevertheless it worked somehow. Mrost never questioned exactly how it happened in case it suddenly stopped working.

He made sure to keep a good grip on Hakan but not so much as to harm the other with his claws.

"I don't much like flying myself, it's the lazy man's way to do things. Walking is more practical" That and it didn't tire him out as much. It was surprising how much harder it actually was to fly carrying something, air resistance was a serious business.

Finally he was happy that they were high enough above the ground, the savannah sprawled like a map underneath, the drop absolutely enormous. He switched to hovering and addressed the juvenile.

"Right. Now we are here, here's the test. Im going to release you and I want you to let go."

Mrost knew would be a real test of courage, to place faith in him to catch before impact with the ground. The god could do it easily if he put his mind to it but he wasn't about to tell the juvenile this, let him make the decision himself.

"If you can do this then I will know that you are not bluffing about being willing to give up your life for your family, if not I will be dissapointed"

Kimaria
Had he heard correctly?

The lion wanted him to let go!? His heart clenched fearfully as he dangled helplessly from the lion's great paws. If he so wanted he could slip from them and plummet to the ground. What would a lion look like if he'd fallen from such a great distance? He expected it would be extremely messy for one thing.

His hackles rose a little and a small huff of indecision passed over him and he probably would have said no if Mrost hadn't mentioned his family.

He was willing to give his life for his family, he was! He would not stand by and let them die not whilst breath still filled his lungs and not whilst his heart continued to beat. He was alive now and this training was for his family. He would do this not just for himself but for them too. This fall would declare that he was prepared to do anything to keep them safe!

So with not so much as a single word the juvenile wriggled free from the great paws and felt a moment of desperate fear clutch at him. His body tumbled down, spinning and spinning so that he thought his brain might swap places with his stomach. He wanted to be sick and the dizzy feeling swept through him so fast that he almost passed out. Around him the world was a blur, the wind forced itself violently upon him and the whistle of the air filled his ears with a deafening note.

Was this it? Had he gone too far this time?

He waited for the end.

Baneful

Mrost was surprised with the swiftness that Hakan made the decision, having been doubtful he would even go through with the request. He even felt the resoluteness this time in the lion, as a mental spike of emotion. He really had made a good decision in this one, if he kept that fire of motivation burning he could have a good one on his paws.

The god snapped into action, nosediving gracefully after the falling figure, his wings speeding his descent, his entire figure sleek. He drew up alongside the other but didn't catch him right away, merely kept pace as they fell and fell.

It was only at the last moment as the ground seemed to rush up to the point of no return that he set his path from a plummet to a curve, much in the manner of a falcon and snatched the juvenile out of the air, pulling him up till his back was against his dark blue mane, needing to shed as much of the air pull as he could. His wings snapped into greater action and he backwinged, slowing from the tremendous speed he had built up to. It took one hell of a lot of effort on Mrost's part and left him exausted, having only one true believer did that to him, weakened him. The blue lion didn't show his tiredness though and merely flapped over to the ground, placed the other on the ground and alighted nearby, panting to catch his breath before he spoke again.

"Admirable courage. I believe you now and know I haven't made a mistake, you can face up to what I throw at you, as you will have to in the times to come."

Kimaria
Hakan felt the tug of paws on his body and despite the fact that he felt rather sick and exceptionally drained he also felt as if he had accomplished something today. He had cast away fear and doubt and leapt into the unknown.

The sound of wings caused him to open his eyes as he realised that Mrost had caught him mid-air and took heart in the security that fact gave him. It was good to feel stable!

Then as he they landed the ground swayed beneath his feet and after staggering a few steps sideways Hakan found himself meeting the ground, half-lidded eyes turning up to his master. He smiled slightly at the words he spoke and let his eyes fall closed.

"I won't let you down Master Mrost." Then with his mind giving a sickening spin he felt himself fall into a terribly deep sleep. It seemed that though he'd accepted that task it had taken a great toll upon his body. However there'd be no doubt that he'd wake up as determined as ever to prove himself worthy of being a warrior and one of the God's Chosen Ones.

Hakan'mawasii RP

Kimaria
Hakan was guarding, or trying to at any rate. This involved a lot of standing around and gazing at the land in the nearby vicinity. Of course so far his blue eyes had captured no one and where at first he started out with determination he was beginning to lose interest.

There had to be someone to pick on!

He had been training with the War God Mrost and had proved himself worthy of such an honour by completing a number of small tests. Yet so far he had no one to test his skills on. If someone just happened to walk by then he could question them and bully them out of his family's occupied area.

With a yawn he moved to recline on the rock he had been standing on, letting the mane sweep in front of his eyes as he continued to wait...and watch.

Lethrossen
Kenai had wandered away from his familys lands, though he wouldn't go too far astray. Well he hoped he wouldn't, he couldn't really tell what was what in these lands. Everything looked the same. At least in the Kusini lands there was some difference here and there! He huffed slightly, chocolatey eyes on the look out for something fun to do.

His walk was rather odd, very springy and flashy. He didn't mean it to be flashy, he just didn't like the feel of grass! And lately his father had been telling him he was too big to ride on his back! Now what good was getting bigger if you weren't yet big enough to avoid grass? Oh a rock! Kenai lept up onto this, not yet seeing the other juvenile some distance away.

Kimaria
His nostrils flared as he breathed in a new and strange scent which tickled at his senses. His head snapped around and in seconds he was on his feet. Now this was what he had been waiting for! However the sight that met his eyes dissapointed him slightly. No giant lion to face...instead a small cub who had the most strangest walk that Hakan had ever seen.

Putting on his 'imposing' face Hakan leapt down onto the ground and strode over to the cub, not bothering to mask the sound of his paws on the ground.

"Oi you!" Hakan snapped, "what do you think you're doing 'ere?"

Lethrossen
Kenai froze and his gaze wandered frantically about at Hakan's words, until he looked down. He shifted a little and then offered an unsure smile. "Being on this rock!" He stated happily. He wasn't being a smart-alec either, Kenai was just a little... dim. xd

His eyes wandered around slowly. "Where be here, 'zactly?" He said slowly, taking not that this one talked simular to his father. Certainly nothing as hard to understand as his dad, but there were simularities.

Kimaria
His eyes narrowed as he gazed up at the lion, head tilting slightly to the side as he gazed at him. It was strange to set eyes on such a pale coloured cub especially when he was used to the much darker pelts around here.

"I can see that." He snorted, stamping one paw on the ground in annoyance, "you 're in rogue lands and by the looks of yah you ain't no rogue." He doubted the cub would have lasted a minute out here but then again maybe he could. Apparently danger was sparce around these parts lately.

"This is where I live and when you're in my presence yah 'ave to do what I say!" He was such a bully...

Lethrossen
"Nope I live in the Kusini'Mwezi lands." He indormed him. That was the only thing that was important, sometimes Kenai still didn't realize he was Kusini royalty. And if he remembered correctly Rogues were those with out homes, so he wasn't a rogue at all.

"Oh... well can we play a game?" He asked, hopefully. He didn't mind at all that the other wanted to be in charge, it would be just like playing with his sister!

Kimaria
Hakan arched a brow, the name of the pride meaning absoloutely nothing to him. "Sounds like an awful place." He retorted rudely, shaking his head to rid himself of the fly that insisted on buzzing around his ears. "Why be a pride member when yah can be a rogue, eh?" He exhaled sharply and growled deep in his throat.

What was up with this cub? Didn't he understnad that Hakan wasn't one for play?

"You think me, the infamous 'Dark Warrior', actually plays the kind of games you'd be interested in?" The closest thing Hakan had ever come to play was rough housing with his siblings and his mother on occasion. "You ain't strong enough to play with the likes of me." He puffed out his chest and flexed his ebony claws in the dust below him.

"I'm feared in these 'ere parts yah know."

Lethrossen
Kenai frowned. "Mum and papa's home isn't awful." He retorted, sounding a little upset. "And rogues don't 'ave homes, so thas why I'd rather be inna pride." He said slowly, sitting down slowly.

His ears pressed against his skull. Dark Warrior? That was a little scary. He wondered what a warrior was... "Well how would I know? I don't know what kinda games yeh play." He said meekly, cringing. Gosh this was nothing like being with his sister, maybe he should leave?

"I did not know... why?"

Kimaria
"Psh...who told yah that?" He grumbled, "rogues 'ave 'omes, the world is 'ome!" He tipped his head at a proud angle and inhaled deeply. "We're stronger than most cos we only 'ave ourselves to rely on!" His inability to pronouce his 'h's' was not always in his speech, in fact it was a way in which he spoke with those he was familiar with or when he felt pretty much relaxed in someone's company.

He watched the other's ears droop and gave a somewhat malicious smirk, a glint of teeth shimmering in his grey muzzle. It was good to know when he was getting to someone.

"Because." He began, rearing up on his back legs to press his forepaws against the rock the other was standing on. "I've been known to kill things stronger than you are." Okay that was a lie but he figured it didn't much matter, it'd only be a matter of time before he got himself his first victim. "And unless you want to be next on my list I suggest you give me the respect I deserve." He sneered, tail lashing behind him as his voice became more serious.

He didn't want to hurt the other, just scaring him was enough especially now that it was obvious he was no threat to his family.

Lethrossen
The world? He never heard it that way before. And as the other leaned onto his rock he scootched backwards, he decided he didn't really like this other juvenile and he'd rather find much friendlier lions who liked to play games.

"Y..you have?" He swallowed, moving back a little more. Though that was a mistake, because suddenly he was tipping backwards. And as soon as he realized he was falling backwards he gave a strangled yelp and a sort of jerk forward, if only to try and save himself from falling off the rock.

But the damage had been done and he landed on the other side of the rock with a thud and a gasp of air knocking out of his lungs. A small cloud of dust poofed around him and he rolled to his side, trying to regain his breath.

Kimaria
Hakan watched as the little lion stumbled backwards and as Kenai tumbled backwards from his place he pulled himself up where he took his place as 'king of the hill'. Then gazing down at the pale cub who appeared to have had the breath knocked out of him he gave a short bark of laughter.

"Ha! See what pride life 'as done to yah? You've gone soft!" He sneered and leapt down from the rock to circle the cub as if he were an injured gazelle.

Ah what a cruel creature he was, picking on someone who meant him no harm. It was doubtful he would ever learn the error of his ways unless somehow his mother beat it into him.

"Perhaps we should play a game, but first things first Little Bit, tell me your name. I've given you mine so it's only polite. Did your parents not teach you manners?" Okay so Dark Warrior wasn't his name but this one didn't have to know that. "I like to know the names of my opponents."

Lethrossen
Kenai wimpered softly and pulled himself to his paws, shaking off. He swallowed lightly and he watched Hakan circle him a little. He wanted Papa. Or His sister, who acted like the oldest of the litter even when he was the oldest. And what about being soft? Weren't all lions soft? Specially big males, because of all that fluffy mane.

A game? He wasn't sure he wanted to play with this one. He was getting overwhelmed with this whole experience, and he was ready to cry. And he knew that this one wouldn't comfort him if he started crying, so maybe he should just go?

And he didnt remember any name! Oh wait.. right, Dark Warrior. "I'm Kenai." He muttered softly and so it could barely be heard. "I don't think I want to play a game with you." He whispered, stairing at his paws. "I want to go home." His ears were still flat and his tail was curled protectively around him; he looked a little pathetic.

Kimaria
Hakan turned to face the pale cub with a look of sheer delight in his eyes. The blue danced like waves on an ocean and as he lowered himself in pounce position he chuckled again, pawing at the ground in preparation.

"Wel Kenai, today is your lucky day!" He spoke, fur along his neck bristling slightly, "yah get to see a fighting pro in action!" The muscles in his shoulders rippled as he lowered himself a little further, "let me give yah a lesson in pouncing."

A growl tore from his throat as he prepared to launch himself at the cub, feeling no guilt at all. If this was to boost his reputation than so be it! "Stop your complaining, you wanted to play a game and this is it!" He flicked the mane from his eyes and leapt forwards towards the other male, intent on pinning him to the ground.

Lethrossen
Kenai squeaked as he realized just what Hakan was about to do and scrambled back a little. "No don't!" He cried out, because he didn't want to play this game with his mean lion. His eyes widended and it was a little too late for protest, because suddenly the other was slamming into him and he fell back with a little growl of his own.

His heart was racing to the point of hurting him, and he was scared because well.. he did play fight, but certainly not like this. And certainly not with someone named 'dark warrior', he didn't even know what a warrior was!

"Getoffgetoff!" He shouted, his mind fully in a panic as he started to shove at the other, "Idonwannaplay!" He was yelling out, eyes shut tight and breathing deepening. This was a bad idea, coming out here.

Kimaria
Hakan grinned down at the cub lying pinned beneath him, quite pleased with how his pouncing was coming together. He was starting to get enough air and angle right now and the result was having this poor creature flailing helplessly beneath his claws. Messing with a cub from a large family however was probably not the wisest of ideas that Hakan had ever had. Yet he paid little heed to what the family might do if this cub spoke of what had happened.

He shouldn't have been wandering alone if he couldn't defend himself from predators.

"Make me!" He yelled in challenge as Kenai called out for him to get off. He fastened his grip more firmly on the squirming cub, claws trying to restrict his movement. "Little Bit should just run on 'ome to his mama and papa if he can't protect 'imself from danger." He jeered, tail flicking as he leaned further over the cub. "You're not at 'ome now, eh? You gotta expect to get beaten up if you dwell in free territory. Get your pap to teach yah some things about the real world before you go wanderin' off again."

Lethrossen
His beathing calmed a little when he realized the other wasn't trying to kill him. But he didn't like being pinned and he didn't like being ordered about. "Fine. Lemme run home then." He breathed out, eyes peaking open as he peered up at the other. There was nothing else but fear on Kenai's face, he wished the other would go away.

Kimaria
With a huff of dismissal and objective complete Hakan withdrew from the cub without so much of a hesitation. He'd put fear into that little one's heart and for now that was good enough for him.

And as he backed off he made sure to yell out after him with such ferocity that it surprised even himself. "And if yah ever come back then I'll make sure yah have some scars to go with yer experience!!" Then giving a harsh laugh he turned and trotted back towards his den, pleased with how things had turned out.

Kimaria
The snake's body convulsed as he slithered along the branch of his most favourite of trees. Here he could bask in the brilliant sunshine that trickled in through the leafy canopy to spread its warm rays upon him.

He practically wriggled in content, coils tightening their grip upon the branch so that it would be near impossible to tug him from it.

Here in the tree he felt safe and secure from the dangers that could be found on the ground.

~Masamune~
At the foot of the snake's favourite tree lay a large, brightly-coloured leopardess, who was taking yet another nap. Her pale coat did little to protect her from the sun, so on hot days like this one, she prefered to either just climb up a tree or lay at the bottom of one and sleep the day away.

When she eventually woke up, she yawned widely and licked her lips, blinking the sleep out of her lilac eyes as she did so. As she stood up, she arched her back to stretch herself out, extending each leg in turn and shaking her paws. "What a lovely nap!" She giggled to herself, cheerful having had a good nap.

Naita
Punctured leaves fluttered downwards, earthbound, their thin bodies pierced uniformly by a single claw.
This claw, attacking leaves as they came into view, slicing them from their easy placing amongst the branches, belonged to a young adult leopard. His emerald eyes sparkled playfully as he swatted at each leaf, form layed languidly across a thick tree branch.

"Tick, tick, tick," he murmured to himself, in time with the miniscule noise of claw on leaf membrane.
"Ticking time away."

Kitambi was well and truly bored. A day of sunning himself in the spotted light to filter through the tree's canopy seemed to stretch before him, so devoid of adventure or notable feat.
He had seen few others of late, and boredom ate at his admittedly rather small mind.

A lock of fur fell before his eyes, obscuring that black galaxy swirl between his eyes. A breath upwards caught it, but failed to move it out of place. It seemed even his fur rebelled with boredom.

Kimaria
The snake was only dimly aware that somewhere below him the leopard stirred. Those stupid cats were always trying to disturb him during his rest, was there no where he could go where he woulddn't be bothered by others?

His forked tongue darted between his scaled lips as he turned his arrow-shaped head down towards the ground. The bright creature below him encouraged an annoyed hiss to pass between his fangs as his throat puffed itself up.

He hugged the branch against him tighter and moved his head so that one glassy eye fixed upon the female below - she seemed to be talking to herself. "Can't get a momentsss sssleep around here." He complained just loud enough that the leopard could hear.

~Masamune~
Pinki's ears perked as she heard the voice of another, promptly causing her to look up to where the voice was coming from. At first she didn't even see the snake, as he was well camouflaged amongst the leaves. When she eventually spotted him, she smiled awkwardly. "I'm sorry dear, I didn't mean to wake you!"

It was whilst she was looking up at the snake that something totally different caught her eye in a tree nearby. It was rather large and orange, and the spots the other creature had were definatly a good sign to her. "I didn't wake you up too did I?" It was a stupid question really, considering how loud she shouted, she would've woken the other creature up by asking that question.

Naita
The sudden noise startled him. Startled the male almost out of his thin veil of balance, lending a great deal of spluttering, and a tail whipping up a frenzy to retain Kitambi's position draped over the branch.
"Woke up? Huh?"
Yet another insightful and heroic greeting from one to fancy himself so high and mighty, oh yes. Correcting what was monstrously close to a squeak in his voice, and rearranging those tones to best bring out his heroic, dragon-slaying ways, the leopard shot down to the stranger.

"I am always awake. Always ready, always alert-" here he ceased, catching sight of the snake.
Instantly those brave features changed, replaced with a cub-like querying glance, eyes round as saucers.
"Are you... a dragon?!" he whispered to the serpent, awe-inspired.

Kimaria
Cold, calculating eyes focused upon the two furry creatures below him, the slithers of his pupils darting from one to the other. Great, just great, two of these annoying creatures. Apparently this was his unlucky day.

His tongue flicked again, scenting the air as he lowered his golden-dipped snout to where they were.

The hiss that followed was long and threatening, mouth parting just enough to reveal those beautiful but deadly fangs secreted in his jaws. "It mattersss not, you creaturesss are noisssy and clumsssy, it isss to be expected."

He loosened his coils and dropped his body slowly to the branch below him, moving with skill amongst the tree that he used as his home. He may not have had feet but he could still climb with grace - if you could call it climbing.

"Dragon?" Nyoka questioned, eyes narrowing, "you may call me that if you wisssh, it makesss no difference to me." Like many snakes are percieved to be, Nyoka was cold, intelligent and unwilling to make friendly banter with any species other than his own.

~Masamune~
Pinki wrinkled up her nose, more than a little shocked by the snake's remarks. The leopardess was very confident in herself, so she hated it when anyone had an opinion that contradicted that. At the same time though, she knew that her being clumsy wasn't true, so there was no need to defend herself. Instead, she just laughed lightly. "Yes, I can be pretty loud when I want to be..."

Turning back to the orange creature, which she could now tell was actually a leopard just a bit older than herself, she smiled warmly. "Why don't you come down from there so we can both give proper introductions?" She then eyed the snake. "You too!"

Naita
This proved enough of an affirmative for Kitambi, who, with bold posture (if only a little bit of a wavering accent, and perhaps the tiniest trembling) set forth upon his branch, headed for the rude serpent.
"Then, dragon (are you sure you're a dragon?) I must slay you! ...ye. Ye!"

The damsel below was forgotten for a moment as the leopard's great chance to prove his heroism loomed large and important.
Granted, this 'dragon' was rather smaller and more wingless than he had anticipated, but better than nothing, he supposed. The damsel returned to his mind, and was acknowledged with a toothy grin.

"In a moment, madam. I must slay this beast!"
Once more he returned his attention to the serpent, eyes fixed on the scaley surface of the creature, watching that forked tongue dart in and out, dancing on the air it tasted.

Kimaria
Nyoka was just about to explain to the female leopard that he would not come down to the ground where he was in danger of being trodden on when the other's voice reached out to grip him. The male of the species was moving towards him with threats of slaying on his tongue! How dare it think such things!

This was why Nyoka declared that the furry species in this world were not to be trusted.

The snake's body went rigid and after a moment of stunned silence he raised himself up and opened his jaws to reveal his fangs. His throat swelled with an even angrier hiss than before and slowly he swayed back and forth as if trying to put the other into some kind of trance.

Perhaps it would be safer on the ground after all.

"Try ssslaying me fool and my poisssoned fangsss will sssink into you vulnerable flesssh!" He warned, feeling slightly intimidated by the jungle cat.

~Masamune~
Pinki could only watch in mild shock as the leopard went for the snake. She tutted loudly, bouncing up on to her hind legs so that she could stand against the tree with her two front paws resting on it and get a better look at the pair. "Erm, hun? I really don't think that's a dragon!" In all honesty, she wasn't sure what the snake was, having never encountered one. But she was pretty sure that it wasn't something that needed "slaying".

Worried that both of them could end up hurting themselves, she stuck her claws into the bark and started vaulting herself up the tree. She wasn't the most graceful of leopardesses, but she took pride in her strong climbing capabilities. She stopped at a thick branch and crept out on to it so that she could talk to both of them. "Can't we all just be friends?"

Naita
Eyeballing the snake warily as words dripped like venom from his thin, sharp fangs, Kitambi wavered. He had sworn to slay dragons, but what this one mentioned about poison... well that sounded just plain unpleasant.
"Uh... deadly, you say?" he queried the serpent, voice once more leaning towards the squeaky end of his range.
"Just how 'deadly' are we talking?"

Why was the thing making such a fuss, anyway? He just wanted to slay it, wasn't as if it were any big deal, it happened in stories all the time, and they DID say they all lived happily ever after, after all!

The arrival of the leopardess set him off his balance yet more. Wasn't the damsel meant to sit around and get rescued, not climb trees and demand friendships?

"You're both ruining the story," he finally whined, feeling rather put out.

Kimaria
"I do NOT make friendsss with your kind." The snake spat, his body constricting so tightly around the branch that one might be afraid it would break.

"Deadly yesss...a few hoursss and you'll be dead." He hissed again, dark tongue flicking between his golden lips as he raised himself higher still in an attempt to make himself more menacing.

"Now leave me in peace!" He continued, "I ruin what I want to."

~Masamune~
Pinki laughed sheepishly, wondering what story the leopard was going on about. "I'm sorry, I just don't want either of you to get hurt, that's all..." Soon after she said that, the snake spat out some more harsh words, causing the leopardess to frown a little and curl her tail defensively. "Oh fine then! Be that way...if you wanna be a jerk, that's your problem!"

Turning to the leopard she smiled. "My name is Pinki'ukamili, but you can call me Pinki!" It probably wasn't the best time to go introducing herself, but as far as she was concerned, the grumpy snake didn't exist anymore. If there was one thing she couldn't stand, it was negativity.

Naita
"No, no, no! It's all wrong!"
The leopard motioned first at the snake, then at the female, then generally flailed wildly as best as was possible upon a branch high above the ground.
"You," here he nodded at the serpent, "are meant to breathe fire and be slain, and you," a nod at Pinki, "are meant to be held captive until the dragon's slain. Then you introduce yourself, are a princess, and I get rich!"

"Yes. That's what's meant to happen."
Dramatically, Kitambi flumped down onto the branch, scratching at the bark like a toddler denied a treat.
"I'll never be a hero at this rate. All I want is some willing story members, dammit!"

Kimaria
The 'dragon' did not look amused and slowly with much annoyance he turned his body and slithered ever downwards, moving from one branch to the next. He was not going to hang around here anymore, especially with those two idiots getting in the way of his sunbathing.

He paused only to turn his head back and spit out some more harsh words. "My poissson burnsss like the fire you ssseek? Ssstupid creature, if you want pain all you have to do isss asssk, I would be willing to give it to you."

He shot a glare at the other 'optimistic' leopard and hissed, "you bring it upon yourssself when you wake a ssserpent from the sssun."

He was not in a good mood...but he rarely was. Either way he wasn't sticking around here anymore, and slowly but surely he dropped himself to the ground and slithered away through the undergrowth to find a quieter spot to sleep.

Hakan'mawasii RP
(done on AIM)

vampirekittenzoe: Mbaya had left the sandy cave that was supposed to be her home. She had recently taken to wondering the borders, she had a clear perspective of her future, and nothing would stop her. However perhaps she would meet that irritating dark cub, again she would show him. The runt. She felt anger raise up inside her with a boiling sensation in the pit of her stomach, but it seemed to be something else too. Perhaps excitment for her future journeys? She shrugged it off, stepping over the grass and padding away from pride rock, her hazel eyes set on the horizon. It was midday, and the heat did little to conceal the time, as it was the hottest it would be all day, the dusty sun beating Mbayas sandy-coloured pelt.

Kimaria33: Hakan was on his usual post, acting the protective sentry for his family in the den not so far away. His mother had been tired recently especially having to hunt for herself and for her three growing cubs. It made Hakan feel somewhat helpless in the fact that he had not the skills to hunt. He still awaited for his first one and it was something he looked forward to greatly.

Shifting on his rock he turned his eyes in the direction of the waterhole where he had been taking swimming lessons everyday. Such an exercise had made him more muscular than perhaps one of his age should have been, yet it was probably his recent training with Mrost that had helped the most.

Slowly but surely Hakan was turning into a young warrior.

It was at this point that a familiar scent caught at him from somewhere towards his left - in the direction of pridelands - and with a low snarl he leapt from his rock and crept forwards through the grass.

That female had gone too far now! Venturing into rogue lands was a dangerous thing for a pridelander to do!

vampirekittenzoe: Knowing full well she had wandered into lands she was unfamiliar with, the female kept her confidence, her gaze narrowing as her nostrils captured a scent. She swore to herself. Not that bloody runt again, thinking he was some kind of warrior. She lowered her body to the ground, adopting a haphazardous stalking position, unusually muscular limbs propelling her foward. Snarling, she noticed his dark form amougnst the grass and straightened her body. Swearing at the blue-eyed male, her tail wound its way about her hind legs in an irritated fashion. "What the hell are you doing here?" The last she had seen of his and his brother was in the Pridelands, and thought the pair would have fled by now. Giving him a dark look from beyond her beautiful chocolate mask, she flexed her claws. No doubt this little "warrior" would want a rematch?

Kimaria33: As she straightened he did the same, puffing out his broadening chest with pride. His dark coat gleamed under the sun and as he flexed his shoulders young and strong muscles rippled beneath that fine pelt. Just because he was a deemed a warrior did not mean that he did not take care of his appearance. With a hiss that caused his whiskers to flinch back he took a menacing step towards her. It seemed they had both grown since their last encounter, though he was sure his training with the War God would not go unnoticed in this more powerful form.

"This is my realm." He snarled, tail flicking wildly behind him. Something about this girl just got his hackles right up! Perhaps it was because they were both so similar. "So get lost little pridelander, go play with daddy like a good little girl." His voice was full of spite.

vampirekittenzoe: She looked a little taken aback, perhaps it was because she wasnt the only one that had grown recently, or because he had more confidence. Whatever it was, she dismissed it, continuing to direct her glare straight into his eyes. "I can go wherever the hell I want!" Her voice was a little raised, but whether that was in anger or emphasis was unknown. She revealed her pointed ivory teeth in a snarl. "What you gonna do If I dont move?"

Kimaria33: "Oh really?" Hakan sneered as he took another step forwards, ebony claws scratching grooves in the ground. "So you decided to disobey daddy? Oh he will be dissapointed." He laughed, throwing back his head to rid his eyes of the irritating tuft of mane. "If you don't move I'll make you, got that wimp?" Oh how he liked to throw his weight around.

vampirekittenzoe: "Excuse me" She said, her tone becoming sharper, voice still trying to regain its usual silky properties. Her tail moved about, contorting itself into many seemingly knotted shapes in her kidden frustration. "Will I have to remind you of the winner of the last fight?" She said simply, a smug grin finding its way onto her ivory maw. "I don't have a father." Recently she had taken to ignoring most of her family, apart from the fun she got out of terrorising Malaika. "I live alone, I can fend for myself. " She stepped closer. "And" She sneered. "I'll prove it." Her claws scraped the ground as she moved her paws, embedding them slightly into the dust.

Kimaria33: Hakan found himself disgusted with what she was saying and lowered himself slightly to the ground. He would never be beaten by her or anyone again. If that happened his family would be threatened and that just would not do. Yet for someone as loyal to their family as Hakan he found he hated this female more for saying such things about hers. "You should think yourself lucky for having a family." He growled. "One day I'll kill them all and you'll wish you hadn't been so evil to them." He would never really do such a thing but he wanted to see what sort of a reaction she got. "Our first fight is in the past, I've moved on from it and so should you or else you'll never grow stronger. Cub fights are mere play to me now."

vampirekittenzoe: The females eyes narrowed futher, until they were mere slits. "Do you think I care about them?" She shuddered at the thought of her happy and perfect family. "I'll see to their death before you do." She spat, imagining how perfect the death of her sister would be. Yes, torture until death. She smiled at the twisted thought. "What, still ashamed to say you were beaten by a girl?" She crouched lower, belly brushing the ground as she stalked foward. "You'll see what I become, I'll do anything to get what I want and I'll kill for pleasure. Starting with you." She jumped foward a few paces, letting out a vicious snarl, however Mbaya only aimed to intimidate him, and landed to his side, a glare still upon her face.

Kimaria33: Anger spurned Hakan into holding his ground, body rigid as stone as she crouched. "You make me sick." He spat, "being beaten by a girl is nothing to be ashamed about, for is it not the females who hunt?" He growled, having come to realise that his mother was strong enough to beat upon most males that came her way. "I am ashamed that such a beast like you was not killed at birth." His fangs clipped together and as she pounced towards him he remained standing motionless. He had learnt to watch body movement from his training with Mrost and found himself pleased with this fact. "Seems your aim is off today sweetheart."

vampirekittenzoe: "Don't sweetheart me!" She yelled, anger blazing in her eyes. "I hate you. And I'll put an end to your insignificant life." Her teeth were still beared, and she supressed the urge to press them against his neck, she'd have her fun first. At his hunting remark, she remained silent, for she was rather usless at hunting, and clumsy. "There are demons in every lifetime, It is only right that those who are strongest survive." Her muscles moved as she padded closer to Hakan, looking his sraight it the eye, which rose that same boiling sensation in her stomach, mixed with something else, unknown at this time. "Why are you so content on proving your worth?"

Kimaria33: "I've already proved my worth to a being far more powerful than you could ever be." He replied simply, the anger slowly slipping away as he thought to the pride he had felt when Mrost had accepted him as one of his chosen. "Yah wouldn't understand the ways of a true warrior, not like me." He smiled almost sickly-sweet and flicked his ears back to press a paw against his chest.

"I have the promises of becoming one of the world's greatest warriors, and soon sweeheart." He emphasised the nickname, "no one will be able to stand in my way, not you or your pathetic pride." Oh poor Hakan, if only he knew that he too was of pridelander blood.

vampirekittenzoe: Mbaya was truly angry now, and it showed. Her body trembled, and her figure neared his, the urge to kill rising as she heard his stupid nickname for her once more. Sweetheart. She was anything but sweet! "My pride?" She would have stumbled, could she afford to look stupid, but she held her clumsy footing as she circled him. "I am going to be leaving, I hate that pride."

She snarled loudly. "I'll show you, that I too will become one of the best warriors, and then we shall see whose blood will run thin upon the earth. The blood of the weak. Your filthy blood."

Kimaria33: He sniffed and gave a small shrug, watching her circle him with cool calculated orbs. Her words helped gather his anger but for the first time ever he managed to push it away. He was beginning to learn to control it, not let himself become blinded by the rage he had when he was a cub. It seemed his training was working.

"You and me both. That pride will face death by my jaws one day, just you wait and see." His tail flicked and lowered himself a little. "Let us see then who becomes the better warrior, let us see whose blood is first to fall." He growled, "One day we shall face each other again in combat and one of us will meet death." And on that final word he pounced at her, a snarl ripping free from his throat.

vampirekittenzoe: "It seems strange that you linger on its borders if you despise it so." The same could be said for her, but she was having fun tormenting those within the pride.

She fell as he pounced her, as he had grown more heavy now, and she was pinning down by his weight. However she became somewhat limp, her mouth unable to find words, gaze meeting his blue eyes. Mbaya was confused for a moment, but didn't squirm, nor retaliate.

Kimaria33: It was here as he lingered above her, his paws pressed against her somewhat warm and soft fur that he had meant to answer her question in the typical Hakan sort of way. Yet as she fell still beneath his hold and turned her face up to meet his gaze he felt something quiver within him.

His heart lurched in his chest and suddenly he found himself unable to think of the words he had desired to speak. Instead he reared up off her and turned his back to the fiery female. "Well then if yah hate this place so much yah better get going. Next time we meet I won't hesitate to kill you."

But why...why couldn't he hurt her when she had been lying there so vulnerable? The question haunted him.

Kiburi RP

Kimaria
Broken.

She felt broken.

Inside her something had gone wrong and it felt that any moment now her heart would shatter. She missed her family, she missed the trees, she missed the grass, hell she even missed the Pridelands. Yet as she lay beaten and wounded upon the sand she knew that to survive a trip across the dunes would be suicide.

Blood from the wound on her shoulder had stained the sand beneath her and it was here that she had remained ever since her run in with that Hare.

Dehydration would be the first thing to set in and once where Kiburi would have been determined to survive she knew if she did her life promised only more suffering.

Atleast she had saved Zenoni.

chemicalstar
Kijani, better known as Minty, tiredly placed a careful paw on a rock--how she hated these thorns that grew on the ground and dived into her flesh without even a notice. She has been to these lands before, so she knew better and avoided sandy areas, since these little thorns were well hidden beneath a thin layer of sand. She jumped from one rock to another, trying to balance herself. It was not as easy as it sounded since the rocks were so hot that they were almost untouchable.

Minty bit her lips to deal with the pain as she jumped on another rock. After a few more jumps, she would be safe to step on the sand again, since she saw some plants growing a few feet ahead and where plants grew, the thorns ceased to exist.

The reason she was visiting the Firekin lands was that she had heard a rumor on another green cheetah living nearby. She was curious; she always believed she was adopted and she did not belong to her family and this rumor might have proved her doubts to be true.

As she steeped on the sand, she took a careful look around... was that a figure lying on the ground just ahead of her? She quickened her pace, since it was not normal for a cheetah or a four-legged being to be lying under the sun in this hour of the day. As she approached the figure she made her out to be a lion, a wounded lion. Minty gave out a whimper of saddness and she hurried to aid the stranger. The lioness did not look like she ha enough strength to fight her so she was ok... The wound of the lioness seemed serious, and minty tried to think for a solution to ease her pain not even knowing if the lioness noticed her being there or not.

Kimaria
Danger! Danger! Kiburi felt the sand move under the paws of the one approaching and sensed the air shift around another warm body. Her own form tensed as if preparing herself for the attack that would finish her.

Maybe it was that Firekin lionness come to finish her off. In fact Kiburi was quite surprised that she had been allowed to live. Perhaps it was the fact that she was Lord Kimeti's slave or maybe it had been pure luck, either way the lioness was not dead yet.

The wounds on her shoulder and muzzle had been lashed by the sharp claws of the Firekin and now they were being encrusted with sand which burned them even more than the sun. Yet Kiburi seemed almost immune to feeling such agony because of her fatigue weighing heavily upon her. The sun was making her drowsy and the loss of blood had affected her mind.

Yet despite all odds this frail looking lioness who was rather small for her age still fought to survive.

She had to see her family again.

"W-who's there?" She croaked finally, throat dry as tried to form words. She had not the will or strength to look up.

chemicalstar
Minty tried to think quicky.. her mother had thought her how to help to ease the pain of open wounds.. using an herb? She wished she had listened to her talking about such stuff, she never thought they would come in handy. As she forced herself to remember, the thoughts seemed to flee from her mind. She sat down and tried to relax before approaching the lioness and intorudcing herself and offering help. why was she such a mischief in ehr family? she was sure her sibling knew about herbs way more than she did.. but she did have an advantage, she had lived by herself so long that her experience served her well...

She siddenly lifted her head up with excitement.. she had remembered the plant.. not its name but what it looked like. Fortunately the plant her mother told minty about was a very common one, and in fact could be seen frequenly in firekin lands. she was grateful that she was near the firekin borders...

it was not such a challenge to find the plant, there were a few of them growing right under a rock near where the lioness was resting. She bit a few stems and chewed on them to help the juices get released and walked over to the lioness. She did not know if the lioness was delirious but she seemed docile. As she stood next to the lioness she said with a soft voice "this will ease your pain.. just stay still" and she put the paste she made on the wounds "now these are not mircle workers, your wound will still need a lot of time to heal, but it will hopefully ease your pain and prevent your wounds from getting infected..." and with a small voice she added ".. hopefully. or it will poison you and me both in some time if i chose the wrong plant..." she was sure thelioness did not hear this and as they did not die in a few minutes the plant she used must be the right one.

As she sat by the lioness to keep an eye for her she spoke again "are you feeling a little better?"

Kimaria
Kiburi felt herself relax once more at the sound of the peacful voice, it sounded not a bit threatening and reminded her slightly of how her mother used to be. She didn't reply however and instead remained silent, hoping that this didn't come across as rude.

Kiburi was a gentle lioness and in the condition she was now she couldn't do much else except lie there on the sand and hope everything turned out alright.

The moment the herbs were placed on her wounds she felt a shiver of pain lance through her...and then slowly it began to ebb away.

Her glassy eyes fell closed as she sucked in a breath of relief, opening her mouth to reply, "much be-bett...better." It was difficult to talk but she managed it in the end. "Whe...whe..." Ah she gave up, talking was just too difficult at that moment in time.

chemicalstar
Minty nodded, so the plants were working.. she wondered how could a lioness get such serious injuries... Well there was only one reasonable way and that was during a fight. Minty herself always tried to avoid figthing because she knew she lacked the strong muscles of a lion or the canny jaws of a hyena. However, the lioness in front of her, lying as still as the shadow of a tree did not look like was was much into fighting at all too. However now knowing her, the lioness' condition may be making minty regard her as such.

It was not in her blood to pass by someone in need and not help them, so Minty decided she would help the lioness until she regained her strength a little as to be able to walk. She seemed tired. Minth whispered "Shh.. no need to talk then. Let me get some water, I am sure that will make you feel a little better..." even though she knew the geography well enough to be aware that there was a watering hole nearby within a few minutes walking distance, she did not know how to carry it to the lioness. As she made her way to the water, she wondered what she might use to hold the water until she reached the lioness.

The suddenly, seeing the tree which stood next to the watering hole with all its might, Minty realized she could use a big leaf to carry the water. She would have to make a few rounds to be able to get as much as water as she wanted to the lioness but it was definitely worth a try.

She bit one end of a leaf and dipped it into the water... and while it was in water, she tried to grab the other end so the leaf will carry a few handfuls of water in the middle. After a few tries, so got it right, and she carried the water to the lioness.

Kimaria
Whilst the green cheetah was away the lioness had finally found the strength to move even if she was unable to speak. And in a few moments the pale female had moved onto her stomach, her shoulder and muzzle covered with the herb that her newly aquired friend had placed there.

She dragged in a few sharp breaths and coughed, wheezing slightly as she tried to get the sand out from her nostrils and mouth.

From this position any creature could see the ribs sticking out in a rather grotesque fashion from her peachy pelt that had been stained with blood and sand. Her young, petite form was marred and worn and yet there was something that glittered in her eyes that showed she still had the will to live.

It was only when the cheetah arrived with the water that Kib broke into the smallest of smiles, lowering her head to lap thirstily at the miniature pool of water. "Th-thank you. A-are you a l-lion?" For the creature - though very cat-like - was rather different from any lion she had ever seen.

chemicalstar
As she carried the last leaf-ful of water to the lion Minty sighed. This required more concentration that she imagined. However seeing that her attempts to helo the lioness worked Minty smiled contently. It was her duty to take care of a wounded lion, since they were relatives--even though from far far away, she could never turn her back on another fellow feline... or canine for that matter.

She sat by the lioness and watched her drink the small amoun of water she was able to carry for her and she shook her head as she heard the lioness' question "Not really. I am a cheetah.. Have you never seen one of our kind before?" she asked curiously, but then she relized the lioness might not be able to speak because she still looked work out "Nevermind that actually we can always talk later... now you should rest, and get your strength back so we can take you back to your family..."

Kimaria
"I c-can't leave." Kiburi choked, her ears drooping as she gazed sadly at the so-called cheetah. "C-can't ever leave." Her bottom jaw trembled almost as if she were surpressing tears and finally she looked away. "I'm not a lioness anymore. I'm a...a slave." It was easier to talk now that her throat wasn't so parched. It seemed that even she was beginning to think herself not worthy of life.

She had let so many others down, especially her family who she adored more than anything.

She had fulfilled her promise to protect Zenoni and it was that promise which had led to these wounds. Yet she had avoided him until now, afraid that he would feel guilty because of his part to play.

In fact she had dwelled at the border for many days now, simply staring at the horizon and wishing for someone to come and rescue her. Yet even in this state it would be impossible, she was too big to carry and to weak to walk alone.

"H-hopeless." She sighed.

chemicalstar
Minty realized the lioness looked a little better if not all. "Cannot ever leave?..." Minty could not image living such a statement... cannot leave?.. that sounded like a torture to her. All her life consisted of travelling and being as restless as she was, the knew how hard it is for her to stay in one place even for a short time.. now imagine not being able to leave it forever?...

"Slave? what is a slave?... and you look like a lion to me.." she shrugged "are you sure you are not one?" she had mistaken what the lioness meant and took it literally. "You do not have to stay here if you don't wish so.. you can wait till your wounds are healed..." she sighed "I can make sure your wounds are healed by staying around and getting those herbs to you a little longer.." she added. staying with her would not be too much of a problem, minty's restlessness subsided when she was with company. however she doubted the solution could be easy enough.

She looked away at the horizon, thinking why this lioness felt as trapped as she was and what she could do to help her...

Kimaria
"Slave...slave is..." Kib trailed off, letting her eyes fall closed as she exhaled and tried to shift into a less painful position. "Slave is being trapped, being ruled, being attacked, living by rules set by others." Her body quivered and the tears that had been brimming in her eyes slipped down her pale cheeks. "Slave is not having a mind of your own."

She shook her head, moving to rest it on her forepaws. "Lioness no longer. Firekin see only weak creature who is easily ruled." She sniffed, "they tried to hurt my friend. I wouldn't let them." Pain lanced throught he delicate lines of her face causing her to stumble on her words and ehr ears flattened further.

"You shouldn't be here, if they catch you they'll kill you...or worse. Might even enslave you too."

chemicalstar
Minty could not help but shiver... being a slave.. she would rather wish she was dead than to be a slave. the thought of someone stepping on her rights like that... it made her feel feverish and sick already.
"But... but.. why do you stay? why don't you try to run away? Why?" she asked, she felt so sad for the lioness and so furious at the same time to those who trapped her.

She did not know what to do.. she could not carry a lioness on her back for long... how was she to help her? "I am not strong I know, but that does not make me a coward. I cannot and will not leave you until you feel a little better. I saw it in your eyes--you want to live.. You want to go back being a lioness again... You should escape... but how?..."

She got up and started to walk around in cirlces. even though she did not show it too much, minty was good when it came to scheming. she was in deep thoughts trying to find a way for the lioness to escape. then suddenly she stopped. her eyes were gleaming. she turned to the lioness and spoke in a deep voice "But you know.. you were never supposed to live with those wounds.. they probably left you here to die..." she smiled with a mad look in her eyes "maybe you should die..." she walked closer to the lioness as if to finish the unfinished business of the firekin "maybe you should end your pain..." she nodded "They will surely be back.. to check on you, to see if you are alive so they can... work you as a slave... you should seem dead to them, which can be easily done..." she smiled, now in a normal manner "...with the help of the red juice of berries..."

This meant minty putting her in danger but she did not mind. She could not live with the thought of abandoning a lioness in such a state. She would put red paint from the berries on the healing wounds to make them look bloody and fatal, and a little red paint on her own moutn would make it seem like she was having a snack on the dead lioness... yes that made sense to her...

Kimaria
Where at first Kib was surprised by the cheetah's words she soon caught onto her meaning. Yet still it was something that Kiburi felt unable to do - for many reasons.

"Thank you for being so kind." Kiburi said softly as she shook her head. "But I cannot leave." She drew in a deep breath, "the lions here are strong and fast, they know the dunes like the claws on their paws." She paused to catch her breath and dragged herself up into a standing position. "They would hunt me down before I could even take a few steps out of the border."

She paused, realising that this was not the only reason why she stayed. "Plus I stay here for others. Others who need my help." She gave the cheetah a longing look and turned her head away towards the cliffs that housed the pride. "There are other slaves here, some young and defenceless. I met a friend here, a good friend. He got into trouble and I saved him...I stopped him from getting harmed." She glanced at the wounds to indicate that they were the price for such a brave feat. "They need me and I will not abandon them."

She sniffed, "I already abandoned my true family, I will not abandon this one too." She staggered sideways a few steps and paused to glance sadly at her. "Thank you again cheetah. It makes me happy to be reminded that there are kind ones outside of this place."

chemicalstar
Minty sighed. It was her choice after all and all she could do was to offer some solutions. "I think I understand..." she said, she was too much into her own freedom which made her feel selfish at times, but this lioness was not like her, she was giving.

"However, I will not leave you until you can run like once you did again... you are no use to your friends dead. this may mean the firekin may capture me, but believe me they will never get me in their paws--" she paused for a minute "--alive."

she looked away at the setting sun "i never told you my name have i?" she asked "it is kijani but please do call me minty. cheetah is the name of my kind, not specifically my name" she smiled reassuringly "and i am not kind at all, i am a spoiled selfish brat" she turned her head away from the lioness "or was sometime ago, anyways... i walked out on my own family, thinking they would get over it.. but you dont know the value of something until you lose it." she shook her head "now i am getting too sentimental!" what she meant was, no matter how many lives the lioness saved, it wont bring her family back or reverse her past mistakes. "To help your friends completely you need your freedom and power. only then the changes you made will ne permenant" she did meant this in a friendly way, trying to reassure her to take the step to fight the tied that bind her down. she then lay next to the lioness "you should get some rest--"

Kimaria
Kib smiled and nodded slowly, moving to lay down again to rest. This cheetah was right, she wouldn't be of any use if she was injured. "I was a bit of a brat too a long time ago." She spoke in a half joking tone, "I'm Kiburi, former lioness of the pridelands." With that she settled upon the sand and curled her body up so that she was lying on her uninjured side.

"I left my family for adventure...and look where it got me." Kib murmuered sleepily. "They're still out there somewhere but as long as I'm a slave I can never see them again."

She drew in a deep breath which was released as a sigh and let her eyes fall closed. "So...sleepy." She whispered to herself, tip of her tail twitching until she was lost in the world of dreams.

Kiburi would not die just yet.

Amari RP
(Done on AIM)

Kimaria33: Amari was looking a little happier but a little nervous too, and that was understandable considering he was returning to a place he had vowed never to go to again. In his heart he knew that he had done wrong by Maawio and though he yearned to stay by her side he knew she deserved better. Mbari deserved a caring and responsible father and Maawio...she deserved a mate who would treat her how she deserved to be treated.

Amari could do none of these things, or so he thought.

In fact, he was quite sure that he was never supposed to be happy again after what he had done and all the grief he had caused. It was because of this that he had wandered for many days, dodging others and moving quietly and alone. This was his punishment for his crime: complete isolation.

And yet whether he had meant it to or not, his path had led him back towards the pridelands where even now Priderock dwindled on the horizon. His heart lurched and tears of loneliness stung at the back of his eyes.

Home...

Zo-Zo: Her young son had grown a little, though showed no signs of mental development. he was still as clingy and nervous as ever, his small form hidden in Maawio?s golden pelt. The pair walked happily along the border, the sun beating down on their backs as they padded ahead. Mbari stirred, falling from his mothers back to land beside her, stalking along against her stomach. His mother looked down to his paw, recognising the same tattoo her eyes had dismissed before. Amari?s tatoo. Despite what she now thought of the cheating male, she couldn't deny the fact that he was half of her son. However she could also see her mother. Mbari had the same eyes and white stripe on his stomach.

It was peaceful for a moment, until Maawio?s sapphire gaze met a rusty orange figure. Her golden figure was visible on the horizon, and she couldn't turn back, for she was no longer a coward. She moved forward sweetly, eyes widened. Although she was angry and upset, she felt a little longing tugging at her. She hadn't seen him for so long, and already his son had grown. She realised she never really let him explain himself.

Kimaria33: Perhaps he had missed her before because he hadn't wanted to see her, but it was unmistakeable as she moved towards him. His breath caught in his throat and his heart contracted almost painfully. It was her; his beautiful goddess, his sunshine, his hope and his life. It was true that Amari had never fallen out of love with her, and perhaps it was because he loved her so much that he had become afraid in the first place. Afraid that he might make a mistake and hurt her.

Seemed he had made that mistake anyway.

He took a step back, and now where Maawio was strong he was weak, for he feared what she would say. If they spoke then she could very well say that she wanted him to leave and never return. His life would be left without hope and no amount of denial could hide the fact that it was over.

And yet...what if...what if she was willing to forgive? Could he forgive himself for what he had done?

He wasn't sure and yet he needed to know.

And so he remained where he was, staring at her with a solemn expression on his face. Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion and for a moment he saw every move of her muscles, the wave of her fur in the breeze. She was beautiful.

vampirekittenzoe: Expression still one of utter surprise, she moved forward, managing to do so gracefully, although her nervous paws made it seem like she would stumble and fall. Her gaze never left the figure, heart heavy as she felt her son beside her. What would he say, would he even recognise his father? Her heart stopped as she approached him. What would she say? What was her plan? She had a fault which some could take advantage of, she was extremely forgiving. A shaky smile, a hidden smile crept onto her face, voice stuttering as she welcomed him. "Hello, A-Amari."

Kimaria33: He shuddered at the sound of her voice feeling almost as if he would melt into a rather rusty-coloured puddle. Yet he stood firmly, his face serious and eyes sad as he gazed down her. He was still the same large and bulky male he had always been and yet inside him something had changed.

He was broken.

He forced a soft, sad smile and took a step forwards, lowering her head as if going to nuzzle her. Yet he stopped himself just in time, eyes flicking towards the small lion beside her. His golden son.

"Maawio..." And he faltered there, "how...how have you been?" It was a pathetic greeting but he was completely lost for words.

vampirekittenzoe: "I've been coping." She said simply, her voice soft as usual. "You?" She could think of nothing to say, and her face fell, expressionless to say the least. She felt Mbari press closer, his fur rising on his neck, topaz eyes narrowed. "Who's that?" He whispered, although he had a good idea who this mystery lion was, he wasn't about to give him the satisfaction of letting Amari know that. Amari had hurt his Mommy, and that was a bad, BAD thing to do.

Kimaria33: "That's good..." He swallowed, finding that his throat felt thick and painful. "I...I went to visit Asikari at the Kusini lands...I haven't seen him for a while." He gave an almost painful looking smile, "he's had a second litter of cubs and getting on pretty well." His sides shuddered and as he cast a glance at his son he felt his heart tear.

Mbari didn't know who he was.

"I...I'm just a." He met Maawio's gaze and then swallowed once more, "a friend of your mothers...or was. We had a bit of a falling out."

vampirekittenzoe: Maawio saw the hurt in his eyes, and almost began to get tearful. She sighed slowly. "But why Amari, why do you do that?" She asked, head low. Mbari gave Amari a nervous glance and tucked himself behind his mothers ivory-toed paws, wide gaze fearful. Maawio couldn't begin to imagine what was going through Amaris mind at the time, but she had her suspicions that Mbari wasn't his only son.

Her sad gaze fell, tail wrapping its way around her son weakly.

Kimaria: "I, I just wanted to help." He choked, lowering his face to stare at his paws. "I told suku and Bakhti to take care of you whilst I was gone. I didn't want you to be alone." He sighed softly, raising his head once more to peer at her, ears twitching sadly.

vampirekittenzoe: "I haven't seen either of them for a while now, and found no comfort but in my own son, I was afraid to return home for a while." She explained. "But that's not what I meant. Why did you do what you did? I caught you with her." She looked to her paws sadly.

Kimaria33: He was greatly saddened by her words, upset that neither Suku nor Bakhti had been able to offer her any support during this difficult time. She had suffered and so had his poor, innocent son. His son...who no longer knew his father. He swallowed hard and tried to reply, finding his throat thick and painful once more.

"I...I was trying to help her." He began, "she was scared and pregnant and I was only trying to protect her from whatever had spooked her." He shook his head sadly, "that's all it was...I didn't father her cubs."

vampirekittenzoe: Though she felt stupid for a while, Maawio bowed her head. Had this really been a mistake? She eyed him. Could she put her trust back into him again? She knew what it was like to be scared and pregnant. Sighing deeply, her sapphire eyes glistening as she looked him over. "I-I believe you." The words stumbled out faster than she could help them, and well, she was a very forgiving lioness. "S-sorry." She said quietly. Her own stupid assumptions had ruined her life for her, not Amari.

Mbari slid out from his mothers side, wide unfamiliar gaze falling onto his father. Such a big and intimidating figure now looked soft, but he could not forgive the father he barely knew. His head dropped, the soft juvenile felt sudden anger flare up inside him.

Kimaria33: "D-don't apologise Maawio..." He stuttered on his words, shaking his head from side to side, "you have nothing to be sorry about. I know how it must have looked and the truth was that I was flirting with her...I was..." He felt tears gather in his eyes, "I neglected you after you gave birth, perhaps in my heart I wasn't ready, wasn't ready for such a responsibility." He paused, "but I won't make excuses anymore. You deserve better than me."

He paused and drew in a deep breath, "that's why I came home...I mean?back to the Pridelands." He felt his voice waver, "I wanted to tell you that you're free now, free of me and my idiocy."

vampirekittenzoe: Maawio?s eyes glimmered as tears collected steadily, a few streaking their way down her face. "You said we'd make a great family." She murmured, voice faltering. "Why didn?t you just tell me? I would've been able to respect that." Her face fell at his words. So he was leaving for good. She didn't know whether to be upset or joyful that she would be rid of this tormenting ghost, but the memories of him would still haunt her. "No.." Her soft voice trailed off as she shook her head lightly.

Mbari remembered the few occasions on which he saw his father, he remembered the rusty figure, the loud voice, and that was it. His father had offered him no protection, no love. Maybe he could turn this around. He desperately wanted a family that was whole, and his small paws helped him stumble to Amari's side. "E-every time you leave, you take away another part of my mom." What he said was true. He had often heard his sweet mother saying that Amari had taken a part of her with him, and didn't want her to lose any more of herself.

Kimaria33: "I...I don't know." He admitted sadly, eyes fixing on hers, "I was afraid of losing you, I haven't stopped loving you Maawio. You captured my heart the moment I set eyes on you." He drew in a shaky breath and took a step back, his great paws thudding softly on the ground. "I just want you to be happy, and...and."

It was then that his son spoke and his voice sounded so foreign and strange to Amari that it knocked the lion back. He didn't know his son, not one little bit, and his word's burned into him.

"Maawio...I don't know what to do...is it too late for me to make up for past mistakes? Is it too late to try and make amends? To try and be a true mate and...and...father." He blinked back the tears and awaited her answer, not sure what at all to expect.

vampirekittenzoe: He still loved her? She felt a wave of relief, "I feel the same." She admitted. No amount of time could change the way she felt. Her heart was racing, but her eyes still tainted with sadness. "Amari.." Her head fell, eyes gazing over the dusty ground. "You know me, and you know I'm forgiving." The words almost stuck in her throat. "I'll do anything to have you back as a friend, mate or otherwise." She looked fondly towards her son. "Mbari needs a father, and he always has."

Kimaria33: He wanted to roar out in joy but instead gave a small chuff and took a step forwards - the first one since their conversation started. He wanted to nuzzle her and breath in her delicate scent but he contained the urge. This was not the time for that, no...it was time to forgive and understand.

"I don't want you to forgive me because that's who you are...I want you to forgive me because...because you want me back. I won't let you down anymore I promise." There was a sense of urgency in his voice.

"But...but Mbari, what do you want?" He turned his eyes to his son, his son who had grown so much, "I'll try my best. That's all I can do." But what if his best wasn't good enough? What if he ended up hurting them both again?

vampirekittenzoe: " I do, i do." She was almost pleading, her wide eyes shining. "I forgive you." She stood still, hoping her slender legs would stop shaking, and she would stop looking like a fool. She looked down to her son, who Amari was know addressing. Mbari withdrew slightly, body slumped backwards on the ground. His sweet and quiet voice had been inherited from his mother, and he squeaked in a high pitched voice. "I-i just want my dad." He said simply, his topaz gaze disappearing as he closed his eyes for a brief moment, as if to think. As he opening them again, he gave a slight nod.

Kimaria33: A wave of relief swept over him and he found it suddenly extremely difficult to contain himself from diving forwards. Once step at a time he thought to himself. "Boy are the others going to be surprised to see me." He said sheepishly, "but...I'm glad...so, so glad that I came back to see you."

"Thank you Mbari...I promise...I won't leave either of you again." And this time he stepped forwards, moving to nuzzle against Maawio with great affection.

vampirekittenzoe: "It was a brave thing to do." She smiled warmly, feeling her heart almost bubble with contentment. She reached forward to accept his nuzzle, wide eyes sliding closed, expression joyful and her touch warm. "I'm glad you came back." She gave him a soft lick, affectionate but delicate. "I never stopped loving you either."

Mbari gave a sheepish grin. It was unusual and touching to see his parents reunited like this, and the sensitive cub moved forward, nuzzling his fathers gigantic paw and whispering. "I hope I can get to know you."

Kimaria33: His heart swelled with joy and for the first time ever he felt like he really could be a true parent and mate. He was determined to set things right and now he had been given the opportunity to do just that he wasn't going to mess it up.

He broke away from his mother's nuzzle to brush a rough tongue between his son's ears and then returned to nuzzling Maawio. Suddenly life felt whole, perfect and wonderful. This time he was going to be a pridelander, he was going to get permission and he was going to make sure everything was okay.

"I love you too Maawio...both of you."

Uzushi'bueta RP

Kimaria
Uzushi was by himself as per usual, rolling about in the dust and laughing at the clouds that puffed up into the sky. He was a happy pup and one that found amusement in the many small things in the world. Cloud dusts were fun indeed but so were the bees that flew around him and so were tickly baldes of grass.

With a small huff he rolled onto his stomach and sneezed, raising his head and giving a small yip of content. "That was fun! Yes!" He spoke aloud. "Go again?" After a short pause of silence he made to roll against the dusty ground again, sneezing as he caught another whiff of dirt that intended on soiling his sensitive nostrils with its presence.

Remove
Dhati had been checking regulary for his children since the missing pup. The one he always found was Twawa trying to bully someone into doing something. Infact it was something of a shock when he saw his son. He smiled a little, tail wagging behind him as he sat on the dusty ground watching his son playing. It was nice to his pups being pups.

The adolescene chuckled as his son sneezed and he laid himself down, resting his head on his paws. "What you doing Uzushi?" He chuckled, his brown eyes on his son.

Kimaria
At the sound of his father's voice first his ears turned and then his head, eyes settling upon the deep brown pelt that could be seen blotched upon his own form.

"Pa!" His voice pierced the air with it's excited tone. Then in moments the young pup was on his paws and dashing across the ground to weave between Dhati's front legs.

"I was making dust clouds!" He said, beaming up at him with the widest smile possible for a wild dog to conjure. "Though...the dust does make my nose all twitchy and then I sneeze and it makes my throat go all...bleugh." He stuck out his tongue for a moment and then returned to his smile. "Is pa on a treasure hunt?" Treasure hunt was his word for hunting, it seemed he named things strangely quite often. "Can I help?"

Remove
Dhati chuckled at his son and then just smiled, "I was looking for your brothers but I suppose a treasure hunt would be good!" He smiled at his son, he seemed so eager! Well a rabbit hunt will do him good.

Dhati stood up and let out a yawn and then stretched his muscles, his tail held high behind him as he walked in a direction in which he knew that there had been lote of rabbits. "This way then son, dont forget we have to be quiet or we will lead bad creatures towards our treasure!"

Kimaria
"Yay!" Uzushi reared up on his hind legs and pedalled furiosuly at the air with his forepaws, tail wagging frantically behind him. "Treasure hunt, treasure hunt! I help pa!"

Being quiet was not a quality that Uzushi had yet mastered but he had a willingness to try and as he walked alongside his father he turned the volume down on his voice.

"Is this going to be extra special treasure? Treasure that ma will like?" He gave a small bounce as he walked, moving with a playfulness that one would expect of a young pup.

Remove
Dhati just chuckled "You mother would like anything from her son!" He just smiled, his son was so eager and he was somewhat worried that he would would frighten all the rabbits away so that they couldn't catch any at all!

Kimaria
"You really think so?" He chirped, momentarily forgetting to keep his voice down, "then I try my bestest to get the treasure for ma!" Suddenly realising his mistake he reached up and pressed a paw to his mouth, "oops." His large ears drooped in dismay and scolding himself he continued to trot alongside Dhati.

"I be quiet now." He whispered apologetically.

Remove
Dhati just smiled down at his son and continued walking, a little slower now so he could watch where he trod. He stopped suddenly to smell the wind, they were down wind so all they needed to do was keep quiet. He walked on again slowly till they reached a group of bushes. The rabbits the otherside were hopping about in their usual fashion and the wild dog kept low to the gound.

He looked to his son and smiled again but he also had a threatening look in his eyes to keep quiet. The smallest noise would scare them all away.

Kimaria
Uzushi noticed the change in atmosphere and picked up the sounds of the rabbits with his somewhat ridiculously large ears. This was all so exciting! His body wriggled as he controlled the urge to go springing out amongst the long-earred things and watch them dash around him.

Then as he opened his mouth to comment he noticed the look his father gave him and shut his jaws with a small snapping sound. Quiet now, quiet.

Drawing in a deep breath Uzushi crouched down beside his father, making sure none of that tickly grass brushed against him as he did so. However unluckiliy for him he crouched a little too quickly and yet another dust cloud escaped into the air.

His nose scrunched as he tried to supress it but it was too late.

Uzushi sneezed.

Remove
Dhati had saw the dust cloud and his son trying to suppress the sneeze, He looked worried but he thought quickly. He jumped out in the middle of the rabbits as his son sneezed sending the rabbits running in every direction. These creatures had never been clever and he watched one run straight towards his son. He let it go, his son could kill it.

Dhati found his own rabbit to pounce upon and kill. It was refreshing, the whole hunting experiance, it was also worrying and gut turning when you were with one of your own kids but today he would let his son do what he wanted.

As he pounced another rabbit and tore it open he saw another just about to go into a hole but he missed that one. He snarled a little and collected the two rabbits he had managed to catch and carried them towards his son, how did he do?

Kimaria
He watched his dad dart out from the hiding place towards the group of treasure and gave a small squeeing sound as the joy of the hunt began to reach him. His heart pounded and suddenly one of the furry treasures was heading his way.

"Treasure! Treasure!" He squealed, bouncing on the tips of his paws as he dove forwards.

For a moment he became entangled with the limbs of the rabbit, his teeth tugging at the fur on its side. The strong hind legs of the treasure kicked out and struck him and for a moment it looked like both of them had an equal chance of winning.

Then suddenly the fur he had clamped in his jaws came loose and the rabbit was away, dashing for a secret burrow entrance and dissapearing amongst the grass.

When Dhati arrived on the scene he was greeted with a rather sheepish looking pup who had nothing but a tuft of fur hanging from his mouth.

His ears drooped. "Treasure got away."

Remove
Dhati dropped the two rabbits he held and smiled, "Dont worry, you will be able to get one soon enough!" He then ripped one of the rabbits apart and ate some of it, "Eat up son, you wont catch anything on an empty stomach, well, strictly thats not true but you still need your strength!" He licked at his sons head and then nudged the rabbit towards him.

Kimaria
"Thankooo!" He crooned and moved into a pounce position, wiggling his rear end as he tried to judge the distance. Then in the next moment he pounced the dead rabbit and erupted into a small fit of growling as he tugged at its lifeless ears. Then after the moment had passed he settled down on his belly and began to try out his teeth on the pelt of the rabbit, tearing through it to eat the delicate and delicious meat beneath.

One day he'd be a good hunter just like his pa! Then he'd bring them lots of treasure and they'd never go hungry again!

He wagged his tail and continued to eat, pausing when his little belly was full and glanced over to Dhati.

"What we do now pa?"

Remove
Dhati chuckled and smiled at his son. "First you can bury the food so we can find it later, make sure you hide it well though son, vultures might be around!" He licked at his sons head again and nudged him, it was only fair that he taught his son these things, after all they may come in really important one day! Dhati wouldn't always be here and though it was Sayid who would take over from the pack his brothers would need to be around for him and know how to look out for each other.

Dhati then laid down to lick the blood off his paws, he cant go around looking a mess now, he was suppose to be the one everyone went to for help and advice. He found his life hard sometimes but he knew his mother would be proud, if only she was around now.

Kimaria
"Okay!" Uzushitackled everything with great enthusiasm, and set straight to digging a small hole in the dry earth. His front paws moved in an almost frantic manner and soon clods of earth were flying everywhere. "Dig, dig, dig, digging really good!" He called cheerfully.

When he raised his face again it was smothered with dirt and when he shook little clumps scattered all around him. "There," he announced, "all dug!"

Uzushi would never have it in him to lead a pack nor take responsibility for a whole group of wild dogs. It seemed that even at this young age the pup was destined to either walk alone or be comfortable in a lower rank position.

Remove
Dhati chuckled his son amused him often. He lowered the rabbits into the hole and covered it back up again. "Bath time for you I think!" He then quickly grabbed hold of his son at the scruff of his neck and trotted towards some water.

He wasn't sure what his son was like with baths, he had only ever had to wash Twawa and that was a mission in itself but he was happy to just wander down to the water carrying his son. Dhati loved baths, so surely his kids should? Apart from Twawa but she was a strange girl. He sometimes wished he had more then one daughter.

Kimaria
"Bath time?" A look of thought passed briefly over the young pup's face which was quickly replaced by surprise as he was hefted up off his paws.

"Oof! I'm flying! Pa I can fly!" He waved his legs beneath him so it appeared he was running on air. tail wagging as he took delight in the sensation. To him everything was an adventure and everything had a sense of mystery about it that sometimes only Uzushi could see.

Remove
Dhati loved his son so much, he could fly and be cheerful about pretty much anything! As they reached the water Dhati decided to drop his son in the water, after all it would be interesting to see how he would react to not flying anymore. So he did drop his son into the water. He watched him though like a hawk so if anything bad were to happen he could get his son back quickly.

Kimaria
Luckily the water wasn't too deep and if Uzushi extended his legs the tips of his paws bounced against the bottom of the waterhole. He gave a small yip and splashed about happily, bounding once way and then the other.

A tiny silver fish skittered between his paws, it's scaled body brushing against his leg as it passed by leaving Uzushi staring in wonder. He lowered his face and snuffled at the surface finding nothing but a nose-full of water.

"Water hurts my nose but not the fishy's nose, I want to swim underwater too pa! Can I learn someday? Then I can swim with the fish and live with them too maybe, though I don't think they talk very much, it must be hard to talk under water. I 'spect it all gets in your mouth when you open it and it can't be easy to breath with all that in the way." He paused for breath and found the ground beneath him slipping away as he found a deeper section of the pool.

Here he began a clumsy and very noisy doggy paddle, legs working like clock-work beneath him.

Remove
Dhati got into the water and swam beside him as he wasnt going to risk anything happening to his son. "No son you cant swim underwater, you are a ground animal and your right, fish dont talk, they stupid animals!" He then pawed at one as it swam towards them, it soon turned and swam quickly in a different direction.

Kimaria
"But what if the fish think that we are stoopid? I mean maybe they have a special secret language that no one knows about, like flicking their tails once means hello." He spluttered as he bobbed beneath the surface momentarily then continued his furious paddling.

He turned his little form in the water and back to the bank where he found the shallow water. Here he stood feeling the surface brush against his stomach as he turned to look at his father. Then with a high-pitched giggle he dashed out of the water to stand dripping on the ground, peering at Dhati happily.

"There! All clean now!" With that said he shook himself, a cascade of diamond droplets falling all around him.

Remove
Dhati chuckled a little, "If you say so son!" He then watched his son swim back to shore and followed slowly. As he reached the dry land he shook his fur dry, getting his son wet once more. He then looked up at the sky, watching the sun. "Time for your nap now son, come on back to the den! You need your sleep." He smiled, no pup normally liked sleeping but a couple of his pups never did anything much but sleep!

Kimaria
Indeed, Uzushi did not think much of the sleeping idea and instantly put on a small pouting expression, water dripping from the end of his nose as he stared up at his father. "Aww but I'm not sleepy!" Yet despite the adamance in his tone already he could feel the toll of the day's events making his eyes feel heavy.

No, he wasn't tired! Was he?

With a small sniff he moved forwards to rub up agains Dhati's legs. "Will ma be at the den?" He asked, head tilting as he gazed up at his parent.

Remove
Dhati smiled, "You are really now come on! Your mother will be waiting for you, she likes her nap with her pups curled round her, it keeps her warm you see! First though, go find those rabbits we buried or do you want to hunt for some more quickly first?" It was only an idea but he couldn't let his son go home without food for his mother.

Kimaria
With a small wag of his tail Uzushi nodded and began to trot in the direction of the buried rabbits, pausing to gaze over his shoulder. "Come on Pa! Let's go dip up the treasure! I think it be good enough for mama." Suddenly he was eager to get back with his mother and curl up by her warm side.

Remove
"Can you find them?" Dhati didnt want to help his son in hope he could become more independant. He had hoped that his son would catch the rabbit but no such luck. It was a shame that was for certain but nothing bad came from it. his son was still happy.

Kimaria
"Yup, I think so." He lowered his head and snuffled at the ground as he made his way across the grassy ground, listening to the pleasant crackle of ferns being crunched beneath his paws.

Then as they drew closer to the location he began a winding path, going from side to side as he sniffed at the ground. "Somewhere around....here!" He found the recently dug earth and began to scratch away at it, revealing a scraggly rabbit ear which he tugged on.

"Rabbit all dirty too! Maybe he need bath?" He chuckled and wagged his tail, pulling the rabbit out of the hole and getting a hold of it by the scruff of its neck.

Remove
He shook his head, "No your mother will like it how it is! Come on, stop putting off your nap!" He nudged his son to get him moving, his nap was important, he wasn't going to miss it!

Kimaria
Uzushi tried to talk around the rabbit held in his mouth but soon gave up, the words were just too muffled to understand. He simply wagged his tail, nodded his head vigorously and set off for home, dragging the rabbit with him.

Remove
Dhati just smiled and followed behind his son, his head and tail held high and his ears pricked for the slightest sound of danger. He was always more alert when around his children, they meant the world to him.

Hakan'Mawasii RP

Kimaria
Hakan sat by the water's edge, patting gently at it's surface with a forepaw. His ears tipped forwards to listen to the gentle pat pat sound of the water beneath his pads. It was one of those days where it was too hot to do any sort of training and even the water which was usually cool was uncomfortably warm.

Hakan sighed and continued to stare down at his wobbled reflection. His tuft of dark mane hung in his brilliant blue eyes and the frown that wrinkled his face made him look so much older than he was.

He wanted to see Master Mrost again so his training could continue, he wanted someone to pick on or maybe to go on his first hunting trip with his mother.

Again he sighed.

Was this what life was like for an honourable guardian?

chemicalstar
Kizuka slowly moved across the plains, her body cutting through the dires grass and making way. Even her pelt felt heavy under the bright, hot sun which sucked all energy out of her limbs. She was parched, and she was tired--was there a worse combination?

As she moved to the watering hole, the lioness thought of all her old friends, those she met when she was still an adolescent and on the run from her own shadow. The ones who taught her that there was more to life than bitterness and self-pity... She thought of Nyekundu.. the small salmon cub who surely made a handsome adult by now. His pride and arrogance was almost entertaining, but he was an enjoyable company. Many others have come and passed from her life, leaving a scar here a mark there, but she has rarely found a permenant relationship with any creature. Not even in the Pridelands where she belonged.

She lifted her head in these heavy thoughts, only to see the black young lion whom she met some time ago. "Dark warrior!" she called out with joy, for this was one of the few lions she enjoyed being with. "Long time no see!" She walked towards the dark one with a new bounce in her steps.

Kimaria
It was strange, perhaps, to find a friendship in this young male lion - who seemed to be constantly on guard and almost always grouchy. There were few lions in this world he would put up with in this world but for now the approaching lioness was one of them.

His ears swivelled back as he heard the voice of the approaching one and after a moment he turned his head to gaze back at her. She seemed rather cheerful today, especially by the way she bounced along like that. Sometimes Hakan wondered whether she even realised she was an adult and not the cub she acted like.

He huffed and blew up into his mane to get it out of his eyes then getting to his paws he turned to face her fully.

"Well aren't you cheery today." He said, gazing up at her.

chemicalstar
Kizuka smiled and nodded as she bent down to take a few gulps of water. Even the water was not cold enough to make her feel refreshed but at least the parched feeling was now gone.

She sat down, facing the Dark Warrior's blue eyes "Why shouldn't I be? I was enjoying a few good memories while coming here.. of my friends..." She didn't know how she should call them... Ex-friends? Friends she run away from? Friends she abandoned once and never looked for again? She decided to leave it at friends, yes, it was a nice word.

"How are you? It's been a while since we last talked" she asked "I bet you swim like a fish now..." she smiled, remembering the times she tried to teach him how to swim. She did not say that aloud of course, by now she learnt that this lion did not like being instructed by someone else, or maybe just her.

Kimaria
"Memories?" He huffed and shifted over to the water's surface, taking the time to have a drink himself. The day was hot and his black pelt didn't help the matter. "Who needs friends?" He didn't really consider himself actually having any.

His tail came to curl about a hind leg as he trotted away from the water's edge to lie in the shade of a boulder. "Fine, as always and yeah...swimming is a skill I've mastered now, though I tend to like keeping my head about water." He eyed the other with curiosity.

"I never thought rogues made that many friends anyway."

chemicalstar
Kizuka did not help but let out a soft laughter seeing the reaction of the dark lion, he was just as she remembered "" Even you will need some, someday..." She could not say she was his firned, it was not her decision, it was his... So if he decided he did not have any friends, she could not object to that and declare herself one. "But I guess you are ok with people calling you their friend?" she asked curiously.

She nodded "I am sure you are as good as ever!" She knew how dedicated this lion was, and that he would not give up anything until he achieved what he wanted.

"By the way, you never told me your name, I cannot go on calling you the Dark Warrior forever you know... that just feels.. impersonal..." she added sadly.

"Rogue?... I was a rogue once" she added "wondering from here to there, and yeah it is hard to make friends while you are on the move... but believe me you might need a shoulder to lean on someday..."

Kimaria
Hakan raised his eyes to gaze at her, listening to her speak until she had fallen silent, then stretching out his limbs he yawned and shook his shaggy head. "If they want to call me a friend then that is up to them, as long as they're aware they mean little next to nothing to me." He growled slightly and unsheathed his ebony claws to scratch at the ground.

"And if you're not a rogue now what are you?" He snapped, eyes narrowing as he gazed at her. "I don't give my name to non-rogues. Ever." A slight hint of anger was mixed with his tone now.

Why was he always surrounded with lions who were too weak to go it alone? "I will never need anyone but my family. For one to be a friend of mine they'd have to prove themselves greatly."

chemicalstar
Kizuka tilted her head jokingly "Oh come now, you mean I mean nothing to you since I call you my friend?" she was joking but there was a slight bitterness in her voice which she hope the lion did not detect.

"I am Kizuka and that is all you need to know. Where I come from and where I am going does not change who I am" She got up, now feeling that it was a mistake to try to get through to this male to begin with. She knew he was good inside, and he built walls to protect herself, but saying that friends meant nothing to him or refusing to give her name actually made her feel even worse to begin with. She was not like this, irritated and over-reacting.

"If you want to know, here it is. I never met my parents. My mother was murdered and my father was missing. But you cannot understand that would you know since you have a family and an attitude? I tried to find who killed my mother for ages.. and now I had my chance to get into the Pridelanders, to see if that damned lioness was there... I am looking so hard..." she did not know what has gotten into her "and there you sit, not feeling anything, and judge me, my actions... my revenge" she pink eyes were glowing "Being your friend is not a test, it is not a race.. if it does not come naturally it does not have any meaning at all."

she turned away and walked to the big rock next to the watering hole and she sat there, with her back turned to the dark one so he would not see how frustared she looked. That was not her.. that angry lioness hungry for blood could not be her... but yet, it was her again who uttered those words...

Kimaria
He was expressionless as he listened to her, suddenly feeling as he did when his mother gave him a lecture. Then when she turned away from him a somewhat disturbing smirk spread across his maw. His eyes shone with that hunger for blood and somehow he was on his feet and padding silently towards her.

And when he spoke again his voice was a hushed growling sound.

"So. You were too weak to protect the one you loved and now you search the world for her killer." He sneered, snout wrinkling as he sat beside her. "If you want help to get revenge you will not find it in the Pridelands. They are a weak and pathetic bunch who know nothing of torment." He dug his claws into the earth beneath him and snarled, ears flattening and hackles raised.

"I never asked or wanted your friendship, you did that willing and by yourself so do not blame me. Yet if you ask it of me I will aid in helping you find this murderous piece of filth." He spat. "Not as a friend but as...as an ally." They meant similar things but Hakan knew the difference.

"You want to know my name? Then fine, but tell anyone else and my jaws will fix around your throat and never let go."

He paused for that necessary dramatic effect.

"I am Hakan'Mawasii, son of rogue Kinja."

chemicalstar
She turend around to see the lion who now had a name "I was just born, of course I was too weak!" she could not believe he was still taunting him "and I did not learn she was murdered until the lioness who raised me told me her story!" Her eyes were still glowing. "and she also told me that the murdered was...." she paused "a pridelander... yeah hard for you to believe right?"

She got up circled around Hakan "I am not blaming you for anything, I am just saying that you cant just let every think someone else feels about you with a swish of your paw." She smiled bitterly, not life was not that easy "It is ok if you dont want me as a friend, it is my fault for seeing you as one. I am the guilty one. I thought.. I thought you were somehow, somehow different, more understanding..."

She turned around as to leave "And Hakan one more thing... you would not be the first one who tried to kill me" She looked bitter. She was sad, she thought Hakan saw her as his friend too, but mayeb he did, he just did not realize it... who knews. but she could not go on pretending to feel like this, feel unwanted "if you want to see me which i doubt you never would, you know where to find me" her paws pulled her back but her mind pushed her towards the pridelands.

Kimaria
"No it's not surprising!" He yelled, hackles up as he listened to her. "Pridelanders are filth! D'yah here that!? They're nothing but cowards, they don't deserve to call themselves lions!" He threw back his head and roared, the juvenile sound leaving his maw as an earth-shattering rumble.

Why were her words upsetting him? He didn't need friends and he didn't ask for any. Why was she putting him through this and why the hell was he feeling guilty?

His heart gave a painful thump and he took a few steps as if he intended to follow her. Yet again he stopped, one forepaw raised as he hesitated. "I know where to find you but sadly it's on a land that I don't ever tread. If I see you again it'll be on free territory!"

He roared again, wishing that the sound was deeper and more adult, and yet he knew he'd have to wait.

Hakan'mawasii RP

Kimaria
It was boredom that saw Hakan travelling further away from his family's den and to the place that was known to many as the 'elephant graveyard'. He knew nothing of the dangers that were said to lurk there and had come across it by mere coincidence.

His dark form trapsed across the barren ground and for a moment he thought he heard the howling of a strange beast. After a moment of searching with his eyes he found it to be the wind as it whistled through the empty sockets of an animal's skull.

He grinned, kicking it across the ground with a sharp flick of his paw before glancing up to the top of a pile of bones that he was intent on climbing. The sound of clattering, hollow bones filled the silence as the juvenile began his climb to the top of the 'death mountain'.

Athear_Vaeri
Yakuti had been sleeping in his den, a pit below a fair sized elephants skull, when he heard a lot of clattering outside. Whatever was out there obviously hadn't been around here long... The hyena pup yawned and hopped out of his den and saw a black lion clambering up a pile of bones. He growled, this one was bigger than him, but still, he had no right to be in the graveyard, let alone make such a racket.

"You! Lion! What do you think you are doing!" He barked angrily, standing at the bottom of the pile of bones.

Kimaria
His head snapped up, eyes narrowing as he set eyes upon the most strangest looking creature he had ever seen. A growl rose up from his throat and his ears flattened back as he snarled up at the strange creature.

"How dare you talk to me like that!" He growled, face wrinkling up with anger and hackles up. For a moment he was still and then digging his claws into the bones beneath him he used his powerful forelegs to pull himself up and closer to the other creature.

"Do you not know who I am?"

Athear_Vaeri
"How dare you come into hyena lands and make such an obnoxious racket outside!" Yakuti retaliated. He hated lions, especially cocky rude lions.

"No, I don't know who you are, and I don't much care, all I want is for you to leave, now, before I have to hurt you!" He snarled. His fur bristled on his back, this lion was making him very angry, he wanted to hurt him, he didn't care how much bigger he was than him, he was very irritated with this one.

Kimaria
Hakan pulled himself up onto firm ground and puffed out his chest, drawing his head up to make himself look larger than he was. There was a glimmering of white teeth as he smirked and flexed his ebony claws in a taunting gesture.

"Well." He growled. "You'll have to hurt me then because I don't take orders from creatures that are lower on the food chain." He bristled, lowering his head slightly as he watched the other through piercing eyes.

Mrost's training and his own personal training would come in handy now, especially if the little runt actually did mean to attack him.

Athear_Vaeri
Yakuti smirked, this lion really thought he was all that, didn't he? He saw through his bluff, he wasn't really that big, but he still was bigger than him. Yakuti barred his teeth in retaliation to his claw flexing. He wasn't afraid of this one.

"Heh, as you wish!" Yakuti barked, lunging at the black beast, with every intention of snapping his jaws upon its neck, he had enough of this.

Kimaria
It was a predictable move and one he had seen coming before the poor creature had even left the ground. It had been the same lunge he had used in his first fight and probably used by many others.

Pushing off from the ground the lion bounded sideways and away from the little raging hyena. He span around on the tips of his paws to face the hyena once more, throwing back his head to bark vicious words. "Predictable, sloppy. You fight like the baby you are!" Hakan did not yet lunge forwards for he had learnt that lunging was not to be used unless one was confident of hitting. As of yet the cub was not tired and so he continued to circle around, ever facing the little blue creature.

"Well? Is that all or are you going to 'attack' me again?" He taunted.

Athear_Vaeri
Yes, maybe it was predictable, but as Yakuti landed on the ground, he was quite unphased. Unfortunately for this lion, Yaku was quite the fast learner, and was not one to use his energy all at once.

"I may be young, but at least I'm not cowardly, I've met lions twice your size who ran in fear of me, even back when I could barely speak! You must be one of the few with even a trace of backbone!" He cackled like the hyena he was, this would be fun.

"That depends, is that what you want, cat? No doubt you expect me to tire myself out? Typical of a feline." He retaliated.

Kimaria
Hakan smirked, he loved a good fighting banter more than anything! It really got the adrenaline flowing through his veins. "No not cowardly, just stupid." He retorted.

The suddenly he jolted his body forwards as if going for attack, pausing just out of reach and bounding backwards. He had no intention of getting caught in this beasts fangs but he didn't want the little one to relax either. Hakan was fast and he wanted to make sure the hyena knew it.

"Your blood will stain my claws if you don't run away now."

Athear_Vaeri
"That makes two of us then, though I suppose you are more brawn, less brains. Me? I may be stupid in your eyes, but I'm not the one who wandered into unfamiliar territory and began to bang around like he owns the place." He snapped, "And you're lucky you ran into me, not someone bigger, if Mafa was here then you would have been dead before you knew what was happening, not that you know whats going on anyway..."

As the lion bolted forward Yakuti snapped his jaws and barked angrily, then he withdrew. He recovered quicly from the initial shock and turned it into an insult. "What is this? Some kind of new game? Well come on kitty, you'll never get me that way" Oh this was fun!

"As I said before, running away is for cowards, and as you said, I'm not a coward. Well, I'd rather have my blood stain you're claws than live the rest of my life knowing that I was responsible for letting scum like you roam the graveyard!"

Kimaria
"Oh so you live in this dump?" He arched a brow and then gazed around, before settling his eyes upon the pup once more. "Well isn't that just lovely." He lowered himself slightly, tail flicking as he eyed up the other and judged the distance between them. "Well I'm the lucky sort, and if you want to believe I'm stupid than you can, it'll be your fault for under-estimating your opponent."

"Anyway I thought you were supposed to be hurting me? All your doing is chatting."

With that he leapt, his forepaws outstretched so that his claws would hit the hyena first and protect his face and chest from any quick attacks the hyena might try.

Athear_Vaeri
"Yes, I live here, though I doubt someone like you could make it here, so loud and cocky." He growled, "Underestimate? No, I must admit that you are quite strong, and I do not doubt that you are battlesmart, but outside of that I must say that you lack intelligence."

Yakuti lept over to one side and pivoted around, the lions back was to him now, being small had its advantages. the lion did manage to graze his left side with his claw, but it wasn't deep, barely enough to draw blood.

He twisted himself around and jumped straight at the lion's back, his jaws poised to clamp themselves around the back of the lions neck.

Kimaria
Hakan was quick but he wasn't that quick and in the next moment he was aware of the pup launching towards him. He ducked his head instinctively and stooped his shoulders, staggering sideways as the hyena made contact with him. He felt the scrape of claws against his skin and swung his head around, jaws snapping together in hopes of catching at his opponents ears or face.

His eyes were blazing with an icy fire as he bared his fangs and tried to shake himself free so that he could pin the hyena to the ground.

Athear_Vaeri
Yakuti's ears were pinned flat against his head, the time for witty banter and such was over, he had recovered his energy and was now as prepared as he was going to get for a fight with this lion.

Now on the lion's back and neck, he clamped his jaws onto the beasts barely-maned neck, he had never been so grateful of his strong jaws. He narrowly missed the snapping of jaws near his head, and held on for dear life as the lion shook and swung him around, but he was determined, he wouldn't let go unless he was completely forced, or the lion gave up... But he planned on causing the cocky feline as much pain as possible.

Kimaria
He could feel his own blood running free from the wounds caused by those powerful jaws but knew that if he could get the pup off of him all he needed to do was knock the breath from him and that would be it.

Yet the fact was that his anger was growing, especially as the hyena pup remained just out of reach. So with a final attempt at ridding himself of the stupid creature he tipped sideways and rolled, intent on crushing the hyena beneath him - or at the very least to get him to let go.

Athear_Vaeri
Yakuti was enjoying the feeling of power, enjoying the idea that the lion would soon be at his mercy, but it came to anabrupt end as he felt the lion lurching to one side, and it seemed like he wasn't going to stop, they both fell to the ground, hard.

At the last possible second, he let go and shoved himself away from the lion, he was a bit shaken, maybe sort of bruised, he was hurting from it but it wasn't so bad as to hinder his fighting ability. Jumping to his feet to face the lion, he barked "You call me sloppy? What do you call all that shaking back there?" He knew that he would probably have time only for that one comment, but the lion seemed to get a bit more clumsy with his fighting when angry, if only slightly.

He licked his muzzle, the lion's blood covered it, it was delightful. He bared his teeth again, ready for what the lion would do next.

Kimaria
His counterattack was fast, faster than even Hakan had expected. It seemed in his rage he had lost his tongue and the moment he was on his paws he was springing again.

He dove towards the hyena, his chest meeting with the ground as he lashed out in an attempt to swipe the paws out from under the smaller animal.

There was a strange madness in his eyes that often seemed to infect him during fights, as if there was another being inside of him, a being that wanted nothing but bloodshed.

Athear_Vaeri
The lion was a blur during his counterattack, all the young hyena knew was that he was coming towards him, and instictivly jumped backwards, avoiding being knocked over, but his front left paw was hit by the speedy paws claws, leaving two deep gashes across where tow of the claws managed to hit him.

This one was deep, and his foreleg burned terribly, but the adrenaline rush caused him to ignore it for the moment, he dove downwards at the lion who was now on the ground from his attack, straight at his already bleeding neck, that was his best chance, the lions weakest point seeing as his mane hadn't grown much yet.

Kimaria
In a surprising turn of events Hakan found himself once again in an awkward position. Yet as he gazed up at the hyena who was approaching him again he did the only thing possible.

He rolled.

Rolling was not something he had practised often but he had done it enough so that he was able to dodge the attack and be on his paws in a matter of seconds. He was saddened by the fact that this ability to move quickly would dissapear with age and that he would have to rely on brute strength rather than acrobatics. Yet whilst he was young he would use it as much as he could.

He bristled a new, snarling fiercely as he made to pounce upon the hyena again, ever trying to find a way to knock him to the ground.

Athear_Vaeri
Yakuti had him now, he was sure of it, untill the lion rolled... Ugh...

Yes, this lion was quick, but Yakuti was quick and small, and he used it to his advantage.

As the lion made to pounce upon Yakuti, he decided to use the familiar terrain to his advantage, he darted to one side, avoiding the pounce all together, and without waiting for the lion to move this time, he leaped atop one of the elephant skulls, facing him. This one was extremely old, even more so than the others, it was cracked on the top. It would hold him up, but Hakan might not be so lucky.

Kimaria
Hakan paused as the Hyena leapt up atop the skull, bristling and growling. Yet as he stared up he had the time to catch his breath and cool his temper. He shook his head fiercely and flattened his ears, taking a few steps back so that the pup couldn't leap on him from the higher advantage point.

What now?

He drew in a hissing breath between his teeth and dug his claws into the ground beneath him. He didn't have much time to access the situation but he knew if he remained here the fight would never come to an end. His eyes darted from side to side, the skull where the hyena stood on was surrounded by fragments of other small bones which could be used as platforms to reach him. Yet by the time he got there the hyena would have dodged further.

He growled in frustration and gritted his teeth together. Fine, he'd play it the hyena's way.

He lowered his body in preparation to pounce, his body landing against the pile of bones that he used as stairs to climg up to the skull.

Athear_Vaeri
Yakuti smirked, he was playing right into his hands... Paws, whatever.

"Come on kitty, I thought your kind were supposed to be good climbers!" Yakuti taunted from atop his perch as Hakan landed against the piles of bones. Yakuti backed up slightly, away from the weaker center of the skull. Once Hakan pounced onto the skull, he would jump off and that feline would fall through, not to mention that it would be quite troublesome for him to get out of the space only slightly larger than his lion body.

Kimaria
"Shows how much you know about lions then, doesn't it." Hakan snapped as he reached the top of the pile and reared up to place his forepaws against the top of the skull. He was ready to draw back if the hyena pounced forwards but for now it seemed the pup was quite happy to stay where he was.

His eyes scanned the top of the skull and the fine cracks that ran along it's surface, and with a twitch of his whiskers he let a slow and quiet growl build up in his throat as he pulled his body up and threw himself once again at the hyena.

Athear_Vaeri
Darnit, well, it had been amusing. He ducked and managed to miss the claws, only to be knocked over by the lions back legs, he tumbled down the pile of bones, regaining his balance halfway down as he recalled his sarcastic note-to-self.

He would fight upon the pile of bones, he knew the steady areas and such, it was a cleaver advantage. He ran around on the pile confidantly, but his right forepaw was aching again, the rush of adrenaline was wearing off, but he forced himself to act as though he was unphased.

"So are you going to surrender or am I going to have to keep dealing with you? Don't fool yourself by thinking you're a threat, you are merely a nussance, I'm half your size and still you haven't done much to me! While I myself have managed to bloody up your neck pretty good." He jeered happily, still mozying around the bone pile.

Kimaria
Hakan tried to calm his breathing and straightened his posture, regaining his dignity a little. "Surrender? No. You don't know anything about me, but if you did then you'd realise why I shall never break down. If I give up then I shall die, not by you, but by the paw of another." His eyes narrowed, remembering his promise to the God Mrost. If he lost to a pup then his family's life and his own life would be forfeit and with good reason to.

"You are limping, tired, weak. I have merely been playing with you." He shook his head again, a splatter of blood staining the ground.

He looked up at the hyena leaping from bone to bone and with a sneer he grabbed old of a rather large bone at the bottom and tugged it free. A moment later and the clattering of falling bones could be heard as Hakan leapt sideways to avoid being hit.

Athear_Vaeri
"Oh? Then that means that I won't have to bother killing you, someone else will do it for me if I can just go longer than you, more than likely..." He said again, "You see, I am in the same situation, I am to kill or drive out any lions in the graveyard, or be severly punished, so I believe we at least have some understanding of eachother."

"Limping? Perhaps, but tired and weak? Not a chanse, I am not the one who is bleeding from the neck at the paws of someone half their size!" He spat as the lion's blood splattered upon the ground.

The bones began to rumble and shake as the lion pulled a bone from place, but Yakuti knew better, it would be easy to simply jump off the other side of the pile onto the ground, which he did, hearing the sound of clattering bones behind him.

Athear_Vaeri
"Hmf, I'm not the only one gaurding them, there are others, it just so happens that you met me, not someone else." Yakuti snarled. "The do it themselves, I help, its a big graveyard, they need all the help they can get."

Yakuti's heart sank, he had a point, but still, this hyena wasn't about to give up, he had worked too hard already. If only there was someone to help him finish the job...

"Do your worst!" Yakuti barked angrily, "The smell of your blood will bring bigger and stronger others to hunt you, it will be some feat for you to make it out alive."

wooga Paes
Yakuti was surely right, for ever so close, a hyena had cagught the smell in the wind; both that of a lion, and a hyena. Hyena's were much his prefference, and he'd show up to help, obviously.

Soon he was at the scene, blinking his amusement; a pup and a young lion? Compared to a grown hyena, Hakan was still rather small, but Yakuti was absolutely puny, and he was amused to see that it seemed to be having a good hand.

"Well well, what do we have here? "

He grins, looking at the lion, then at Yakuti. "Good pup, Mafa bring you in? "

Kimaria
Hakan's ears twitched back to listen to the other hyena but for now his concentration settled solely on the blue pup, eyes narrowed. "Well, well another one come for a beating, eh?" He muttered, a shimmer of annoyance in his eyes.

Those ebony claws unsheathed as he stalked closer, moving quietly against the ground.

Then once again he was diving forwards, powerful hind legs propelling him towards the hyena as he snapped out at his neck. Hopefully the appearance of the other hyena had distracted the little one enough. He had no intention of killing the thing...yet. No, no, no he wanted to see the fear in it's eyes. Perhaps he'd even let it live so that it would always be able to keep the memory of the dark lion in his nightmares.

Athear_Vaeri
"Wha-?" Yakuti said, but was cut off, the lions hopes came true, the other hyena distracted him, if only for a moment. But it seemed that a moment was all the lion needed, Yakuti was knocked into the ground, hard. He felt the lions claws pierce his flesh as he made contact.

But he wouldn't give Hakan the satisfaction of seeing him scared, He looked him in the eyes and said, "Go on, do it then, he'll get you," Yakuti said, indicating Tibuka, apparently he was also in the pack, "Yes, Mafa brought me in," He said, talking casually as though nothing was going on, "If you take out this lion, make sure she knows that he's not worth much." He sneered, "He almost got beaten by a pup."

Nodding to acknowledge what the pup said, the male hyena thrusts forward towards the lion at ramming speed while he seems worried with the pup, no point in letting a good one go, correct? This pup would be good sometime, already in fights with lions? Just wonderfull.

His paws move silently between the bones, he clearly remembers his fight with the Maziko pride queen, and if he got the lion off its paws, it'd be much better.

`Zoe
The female was growing a little more lithe with each journey she made and fight she picked. Her limbs were lined with a muscle she had been wanting to use against her enemy for some time now. They had come so close in their last encounter, and though he had pounced her, the brute was too weak to do anything. She laughed loudly.

However she had been following his scent for a while, and now she noticed it was mixed with the strong smell of blood. She felt a pang of worry strike her stomach and frowned. Ha, why was she worried about him?! Sneaking foward, her eyes fell upon two hyena, and Hakan looking a little worse for wear.

Kimaria
"Shut your mouth, runt!" His voice boomed with an explosive anger, the sound rumbling from deep within his chest as he leered over the hyena. He was a brave one atleast, facing death with a calmness that Hakan hadn't expected. He felt a surge of power from his position holding the hyena pinned to the ground and suddenly craved to taste the sweet blood. He beared his fangs and dug his claws sharply against the beast beneath him. For a moment he could see the victory flashing before his eyes and then suddenly he was being rammed.

His strangely muscular body tensed, the claws that had been fixed in Yakuti sliding along the skin as he struggled to keep a grip on him. His head twisted around as he tried to get his teeth fixed around the new attacker as he set his hind paws firmly against the ground to keep his balance.

Too focused on the matter at paw he did not notice Mbaya's approach.

Athear_Vaeri
As Tibuka rammed into Hakan, his claws slid across the side of his neck, that was going to scar... It burned terribly but he held back his whimper and turned into an enraged growl.

The pup wriggled free of the lion as Tibuka rammed him, turning to face the lion yet again, he also was to absorbed in the current situation to notice the new arrival.

"I thought we went over this lion, you aren't taking me withought serious consequences," And with that, he darted around the lion, snapping at his legs and tail in an attemt to distract him. There was no way that he could deal with two hyenas at once.

wooga Paes
Win.

The lion was loosing his balance, and moving a step back from the bite, Tibuka pushed his side against the lions to further unbalance, or knock him over.

To make sure he did something, he nipped at the lions shoulder, ears folding backwards as the hyena didn't fancy loosing them today.

`Zoe
Mbaya suddenly felt a bubble of anger rise, to meet in her throat with a vicious snarl. Bounding near to the hyena that was wrestling with Hakan, she smiled simply. "Need some help do you?" Calming, her silky voice echoed. "Oh dear, looks like you got into a bit of trouble." She leant closer to Hakan, her taunting smile lingering on her maw. Swiftly, Mbaya pawed at the hyenas side, a strong blow intended so the creature would lose its balance. "So, need some help then, "warrior"..."

Kimaria
Hakan snarled, whiskers twitching as he hissed and tucked his tail around a hind leg to keep it away from the snapping of the hyena's jaws. "Oh, and what consequences are these? You really think you and short stuff here can beat me?" He scoffed, lashing out with a forepaw in an attempt to slash the blue pup across the face, or at the very least to try and get him to back off for a moment.

It was then that the newest arrival shoved him and he staggered forwards, the n** just catching the air by his shoulder. He'd had just about enough of this now and with a yowling roar he shoved backwards sharply, using his size to try and knock the other away. The blue one first, the other pup later. "Wait your turn." He yelled, bristling angrily as he tried to stay in control of the situation. Things were beginning to get a little more difficult.

It was then that Mbaya made her surprising appearance and suddenly he found himself smiling a little. "Well hello there princess." He lowered his body a little more. "Who am I to deny you a fight?" His voice sounded almost...flirtacious?

He wasn't exatly going to turn away help in this case, and he knew Mbaya to be a reliable fighter.

Athear_Vaeri
Ugh another lion... Great... But at the moment Yakuti was busy trying to get Hakan, the other one wasn't doing anything yet and could be delt with later.

"Turn? What turns are you talking about?" He jeered, the lion was obviously getting irritated with the sudden need to multitask. "Hey, is that your girlfriend?" He taunted as Hakan as he spoke to the lioness.

Yakuti backed up a bit to avoid the paw lashing, only to return with another attempt to jump onto the lions back to get at his neck again, this time falling on his side would expose him to Tibuka, so it would be a very difficult situation for him.

wooga Paes
"Scratch up his belly if he knocks over, pup. Its a weak spot, yelp if he pins you. This is going to be interesting. "

The adult hyena blinks his amusement as another young one shows up, only this time female. He pushes his paws more strongly to the side against the black one, and without waiting to see if there was a result, he jumps away, landing close to Mbaya's side instead.

Lowering his body to get into a shorter position to the lion, his hind legs propell him forward, jaws open to bite at any lump he could manage.

`Zoe
Mbayas eyes narrowed, but she couldn't help smiling at Hakan. Pinning her ears back, she slid away from the older hyena, stumbling beneath him, arriving somewhere between his back legs. Instincively, she bite the first thing she came into contact with, and felt her teeth crunch against the bone of the adults leg. Feeling a throbbing pain in her mouth, she crept underneath and turned to Yakuti, eyes ablaze.

Kizuka listened to the swish noise the dried grass made as the shook her tail from right to left with rhytmic periods. She was bored. So bored. Bored to death. The sun was not as hot as it would have been in the midday, since it was just mornign yet, and she could feel the subtly cool morning breeze on her pink striped and spotted pelt.

She blinked her dark eyes a few times to get rid of a dust and then got up, with a look on her face that resembled sheer weariness. She did not know what to do, where to go... so she let her pink colored paws led the way aimlessly.. Maybe she should cross the borders today to see what was happening in the real world.

Kimaria
Where once the air had been fresh - apart from the odd drifting of dust - there was now the scent of blood. Yet it was not the liquid that belonged to a prey animal. No. In fact it was lion's blood.

For not too far away moved the Dark Warrior, his gait pained as he moved across the ground. He was not quite sure why he was here. Perhaps to find Mbaya - though he knew she wouldn't be in Pridelands. Really he just wanted someone to talk to for this was not something he could tell his beloved mother about. He didn't want to worry her.

He had tried to train and opened the wound up on his neck and could now feel the blood dripping down the curve of his shoulder. Is this the price he would pay for being weak?

chemicalstar
Kizuka had just taken a few more steps towards the border when a scent of blood hit her face as heavy as the summer rains. She stopped, alert and all her muscles stretched. The pink lioness smelled around for a little more before deciding what action course to take. This was not some bird, or a gazelle or a hyena for that mayyer. She was quite sure it was a lion, and she was sure he or she was close, very close indeed.

She could not leave a fellow lion wounded, whether may he be hostile or not. She quickened her pace and followed the scent.

A few minutes' walk towards the border revealed the wonded lion who was wounded, it was not a stranger like Kizuka had hoped for, but rather i was a known face to her, someone she cared about deeply.

"Hakan!" she gasped with horror. Their parting had not been in the best terms, but seeing him here like this effected her more than she imagined. He told her he did not like the Pridelands, and yet he was here.. why? Kizuka shook of these toughts--it was not thinking time! She ran to the dark colored lion and tried to take a look at his bleeding wound "What had happened to you?" she asked with a low, worrying tone, not that of a mother but of a friend even thoguh she was not sure if Hakan had denied her his friendship in the last meeting or not, not that she cared in a situation like this! Friend of not, Hakan's wound needed to be tended--and it had to be done very quickly.

Kimaria
His head tilted up and for a moment he staggered sideways, his vision doubling as he tried to focus upon the white and pink lioness. Oh...it was...her. He paused as she drew close and twitched his ears back as she began to fuss over him. Worry...she was worried, but why? He stared intently at her, not saying anything so that he could concentrate on that soul question. Why...why was she here with him like this? Why did she even care about him?! He had treated her badly and she acted as if it hadn't even happened...and why...WHY did he feel so bad about it!?

He lowered his body to the ground and hissed, hackles bristling slightly as he covered his confusion and guilt with anger. It was his way. If you don't understand something get angry. It was all he knew and he would use it now as his defense.

"Get away from me!" He snapped, narrowing his watery eyes to glare at her.

chemicalstar
"Save your anger for another time" Kizuka murmured between her teeth as her eyes searched the horizon for some sort of plant she used to treat her wounds when she was out the all by herself as a rogue. She did not fear Hakan, even though she was sure he was perfectly capable of hurting lionesses twice his size when he means to.. but not like this. Never like this. The pink lioness had known this dark lion for a while to know that he always used anger to hide his real feelings and what is going on inside his mind. She did not believe he would hurt her, no matter how much he disliked her. She would treat his wound and get the hell out of his life if that was his wish... but what made her sad was that she knew how Hakan was inside, he was innocent and vulnerable and beautiful... but outside, as if to compensate for all these good qualities, he played the tough guy with a serious case of teenage angst.

When her eyes finally rested on a yellowish green plant with triangle leaves, she trotted in that direction and of a few of the fresh baby leaves and places them on Hakan's would without waiting for him to object. These leaves would stop the bleeding and ease the pain to some extent... if not all.

Kimaria
Hakan merely stared at her and as she padded away let himself relax a little. Why was he here? Why was she here? He didn't understand anything and that made him even more angry. Was it just because he was young and stupid? Had he been fooling himself to think that he could be a great enough warrior to protect his whole family?

He was a failure.

A tear managed to escape from his watery eyes but with a quick motion of his paw it was wiped away and as he lay upon the ground he felt hismelf slipping into despair.

What if Mrost didn't deem him one of his chosen anymore? What if he couldn't be trained further? What if he... the questions continued to race through his mind, sending him into an almost insane fever.

chemicalstar
Kizuka looked at Hakan's eyes after she places the leaves "Feeling any better?" She asked... The desperation and confusion she saw in the dark lion's eyes felt like a kick in her stomach--it was so strong, so powerful that she felt drawn into the blue eyes. What was his problem? Why was he here? Why was even she here?

"You should rest under the shade a little bit" she said coldly, rather unlike her. Now that he heat of the moment was gone she could see more clearly.. What Hakan said was not always what he meant, but it was tiring, tiring to try and decode his words. "Why are you here?" she asked while waiting for Hakan to follow her to the shade of a rock nearby "I thought you hated the Pridelands.. or was it just me that you hated? I can't seem to remember that..." the pink lioness said with a half bitter half sarcastic tone. Everytime they met they seemed to argue with Hakan, but that did not make Kizuka think less of him... unfortunately... she wanted him out of her head so badly, but she could not. He did not let her go, he haunted her.. He was still so young, so why? why was Kizuka feeling so attached to him?...

Kimaria
He followed only because he didn't have the enrgy to argue and collapsed in a dark heap into the shade. It was only when he had rested a moment that he did speak, and his voice lingered with the trace of a growl.

"I did NOT say that I hated you." He bristled anew. "why do you help someone you hate anyway? Do you get some sort of kick out of it? Why I'm here is none of your buisness." What could he really say? I'm here because I didn't want to be alone? Because I needed someone to talk to? No. That wasn't his style. He couldn't show weakness not in any way or form. And yet...to keep up this tough-guy act was draining and in his injured state it was harder than ever.

For though he acted grown up he was still very much a juvenile and depended on his mother to hunt food for him and to keep him warm at night.

"Look, you can go now if you want. If you hate me so much then you won't want to be anywhere near me. I'm strong so no one will mess with me even if I am a little bit...injured."

chemicalstar
Kizuka snapped "It is not me who suffers from anger fits... and I thought I made it quite clear how I felt the last time we met, and you went on with that story about how your friendship has to be earned..." Her pink eyes started glowing with a tint of disappointment and anger. "No, I do NOT hate you" she added mimicking Hakan... "I..." she started... What could she say? I care about you so much that it hurts? No, she could not say that, not to Hakan. Or... think about you so much that I started to call everyone else by your name.. Nope that would not work either. With Hakan, it was hard to tell what you really meant.. "nevermind..." the pink lioness said. "And here I was thinking maybe you came to visit me, what a fool I was! You are not even strong enough to show who you really are? Do you think you can fool everyone with this 'I am so tough, do not mess with me' act? I know you are much more than that... but trying to get through your shell is... killing me!" She tried hard not to shout "I have lived through much, but none was as challenging as you.. why can't you be yourself when you are here with me?" She sat down in the shade, or rather, collapsed like Hakan. "Why can't you tell what you really feel and think? What do you think would happen if you did?.." She said slowly and thought... are you afraid to get closer to someone you swore not to care about?

Kimaria
He swallowed back the lump in his throat and turned away, listening to her words without replying. No one would understand, no one would ever understand! Even if Kizuka wanted to she was so much different from him, she wouldn't be able to see what he meant. So what was the point in explaining?

He was afraid to call her a friend.

He was afraid to say what he really felt.

He was afraid of spoiling his reputation.

Yet most of all he was afraid of loss.

He had been right all along. He was weak and his inability to share certain things proved this. How could he even start to explain the things that he saw in his nightmares? How could she ever understand the things that drove the warrior to kill? He shook his head and squeezed his eyes shut, wishing he could block up his ears so he didn't need to hear her anymore.

"You could never understand." This time his tone was not angry, in fact it was almost sad. "You don't know what goes through my mind, the torments, the anger...the pain." He growled and shifted his weight, "I am alone in this world, fighting a battle that shall never end. I cannot be weak, I cannot express emotion because that will leave me vulnerable to attack. If I die then it is over. I cannot die. I must not die." He realised he wasn't making any sense and chose that moment to fall silent.

chemicalstar
Kizuka stared at Hakan blankly "Try me and you may be amazed to which extentd I can understand you... " He had a family, lions who loved him above anything else, obligations, and yet he was sad unsatisfied and haunted... just like her. "You are alone because you choose to be alone and nothing else... You should be weak sometimes, you should give in to the feelings that make you mortal, a lion.." She got up "Accepting that you are vulnarable makes you realistic, and that makes you strong.. Being lost in the haze of a dream, or pain.. That may drive you until some point, but it is your emotions and your reasoning that will make you the strong warrior you wish to be at the end of the day... " Strength though emotions... that was the most noble, most terryfying power one could have...

She paused for a while and looked into Hakan's eyes "Do you think I want you to die? Do you think I can take it if you die? " No she could not not another loss... "My mother was murdered before me, I still see her in my dreams, or nithgtmare you may call them.. I cannot sleep, I am like a walking corpse.. and then those images come running to my head... " she had never told about these to anyone before. ANYONE. "The images of that lioness, begging mercy... telling me I was wrong, and she was innocent... The look on her eyes when I reached out and gave her the final wound.. as her looks got blank and she faded... Do you think I don't understand? Do you think I did not kill? She was right you know, she was innocent... She did not kill my mother.." Her voice faded "I got the wrong lioness... Do you think I don't blame myself for that Do you think I am not tortured with her last words every second of my life?..." She stopped talking because she already said too much, she was shaking, she could not help her tears "I am sorry, so sorry..."

Kimaria
He listened, not moving, not speaking. He just listened. Then finally when she trailed off he found that his heart lurched painfully. Why should he treat her like a pridelander when she wasn't one? She was the same as him really, very much the same. She had made mistakes and she sought revenge.

To his surprise he found tears wetting the fur on his face and in a desperate attept to hide them he buried his head between his forepaws, sniffling slightly.

What would he have done if his mother had been murdered? Would he have killed anyone and anything? The answer was most simply, yes. His mother meant everything to him, she was the one who gave him life, fed him, kept him warm. She was the wise lioness who had taught him so much and it tore him apart to think of life without her. Was this the sort of pain that Kiz felt? Was this the torment she had to live with?

His body trembled and the wound on his neck was forgotten as he wiped the tears from his face and looked up at her. "Don't apologise." Why was she saying sorry? She had done nothing wrong. "And don't feel bad. You were seeking revenge and I think anyone in your position would have done the same. I know I would have." Suddenly against his wishes the smaller lion was moving forwards to brush his side against hers, a gesture of comfort he felt he needed to offer. "I'm...I'm the one who should be sorry Kizuka." He had apologised?! And he was truly sorry.

"I'm afraid...I'm afraid of losing what you have already lost." He drew in a shuddering breath. "If I made friends that would mean more lions for me to protect. There's only so much of me to go around. I can't...I can't be everywhere at once." He drew in a shaky breath. "so that is why...that is why I want to be alone."

What was he saying? He didn't want to be alone! But...he had little choice. This was the life he had chosen the moment he had passed Mrost's test.

chemicalstar
Kizuka tried to take deep breaths to calm down. What has gotten into her again? She was crying so much when she was with Hakan, he must think she was wuite the crybaby... but he reminded her so much of her own self, she could not help it.

Hearing his words, she lifted her head... he understood her. He did not blame or condemn her like everyone else would. He did not call her a murderer, or a monster. He just... understood her.. just like that. She looked down "She just died, she did not say she hated me. when she understood she was a goner, she just smiled.. as if she accepted her fate... and I could not wash the blood, it would not go... " She hated her pink paws, because they reminded of her blood.

When she felt Hakan's warmness next to her she lust let go; her head sinked in his dark colored fur and she cried like she never ever done before. Then it was--all ok, all the bad feelings slowly subsided and left their places to calmness. She did not know how Hakan did it, but he just did. "Don't please... don't say you are sorry... I was never mad at you, I was mad at myself... for not being able to say these things, not being able to show you who i am, not being able to reach out to you..."

She looked at him "You do not have to be here to protect me, the thought that I am somehow in your mind would give me courage... to go on..." She paused "You don't have to go through this alone.... You should not, look at what it has done to me... I can..." she paused a little "I can come with you... when and if you wish...." She felt peaceful now that everything was out in the open. "I have nothing to lose... not a slightest remorse..." She was selfish to offer such a thing but she knew that if Hakan elft never to come back again, she could never be herself again.

Kimaria
He just stood there, letting her tears soak his fur as he listened to her words. "We are the same, you and I." He tipped his ears downwards and snuffled quietly. His eyes fell upon his dark paws and was thankful that the stains of his fights would never be imprinted for others to see. It seemed that Kizuka was haunted even by her appearance and for that he was extremely sorry. What would it be like to live with a constant reminder of what you had done?

"I'd feel the need to protect you Kizuka, because whether I like it or not you are my friend now. I don't know what it is about you but the more I tried to push you away the more I needed your friendship." He paused. "If you want the honest truth I came here in search for you. I needed to talk and you were the first who came to mind." He smiled gently, "I can talk to you about things that would only worry my family."

He flexed his claws and sighed. "I have chosen the path of a warrior and it is one I cannot turn back from." He wished he could tell her about Mrost but decided that would be for another time. "I shall aid you in getting revenge if you wish it. I would even kill the entire pride if it meant calming the storm that rages your mind." He was deadly serious about it and held not a single trace of fear in his voice.

If only he knew....if only he realised. He was half of pridelander blood and that the mother he cherished was born and raised in the pride he so hated.

chemicalstar
Kizuka looked at Hakan with surprise in her eyes this time "In search of me?.." So Hakan never really hated her after all... Why did she always feel the need to second guess what someone says and does? Was it a habit coming from her lonely childhood?

"I am glad I can talk to you like this" she said gratefully ".. and you can always talk to me.. no matter about that... It makes me glad you know this" She nodded, now that her pain felt its place to comfort she could speak more clearly... "I am sure you will make a mighty warrior Hakan someday, when you learn what you gotta learn" she did not go to the specifics of this since she was not her mentor, nor she could be....

"No more killing, please, I am so tired... Until I find out who really murdered my mom, I don't think I can do it again..." She remembered her blackouts which used to happen until quite recently, until she settled down. She knew it was the murder which caused this, more innocent killings would wound her in an unhealable kind of way.

She appreciated Hakan being there... She could not tell him how much this meant, but she wass sure he understood.

Kimaria
He nodded in understanding and moved his head to nuzzle against her shoulder. "Fair enough." He said, slipping into his more casual tone. Sometimes it seemed like there were two souls within this dark vessel, one kind and casual - the side he used with friends and family. Then there was the second side which was a vicious monster.

"Then I'll help yah find the one responsible." He nodded sharply, "tis the least I can do." His tail flicked and curled about a hind leg, "so no clues so far?" He asked. She had been in the pridelands a while now and he couldn't help but wonder if she had uncovered anything.

"It's a shame yah were so young when it 'appened. If you'd 'ave been older than perhaps things woulda been easier." He sighed and mvoed to sit down beside her, shaking his head to try and ease out the pain in his neck.

chemicalstar
Kizuka enjoyed Hakan's little show of affection and as she listened to his proposal to help her she felt she was all alone in her race against time. "I only know she has been in the Pridelands in some part of her life, she may be a rogue too after all, rogues like me can join the Pridelanders too... but other than I have nothing... Howevever, thats what my mother told me before she passed away... She said "The Pridelands"... that may mean one thing right?" she asked...

She suddenly remembered Hakan was wounded. "I am sorry, selfish me!" She peeked over Hakan's shoulder to see his wound "How does it feel? Does the leaves help at all?" She asked as she maves to groom the wound herself "" Let's make this wound look less scary so your mother does not freak out when she sees it!"

Kimaria
He nodded and drew in a small breath. "I suppose those last words have to count for something. It's the only lead yah have and since mothers can be trusted I 'spect you'll find something here." He spoke thoughtfully. "If only you knew what she looked like, then yah could ask around." He frowned and turned to look at her as she moved to inspect his wounds.

"Better," he replied as he lowered himself to the ground once more, letting the shade help relax his body. "didn't know plants could be that useful ter be honest." His whiskers twitched as he laughed. "Guess there's lots of things I 'ave to learn ain't there." He was by no means a knowledgable or wise lion but he hoped to gain the wisdom with age.

He wanted to travel but didn't want to leave his family. To him they were both a blessing and a curse but he knew he could not live without them.

chemicalstar
Kizuka nodded "I need to know what she looks like... I am sure she had friends, but I don't know which pride she belongs to and not even her name..." She was realizig she actually knew nothig at all about her mother, let alone where she belonged to.

She then turned her attention back to Hakan "I am glad those help, they helped me a lot when I was injured and on my own" She shrugged "I am just lucky I didn't try on a poisonous plant and died instead of curing myself" She winked and smiled at hearing Hakan's laughter. She never heard him laugh before... it was such a rare treat.

"You still have lotsa time ahead of you, I am sure you will be just fine..." she smiled "at least you have your family to teach you things... Unlike me.." she did not mean to sound bitter but honest "But the truth is, if I had family I am not sure I would be the lioness I am today.. which is either a good or a bad thing, I don't know honestly" She got up "Thank you for being here Hakan... You know if you wanted, I could come with you" she said and winked again "Let me know when you are ready"

Kimaria
"It might not count for much but someday if possible I can teach yah stuff. And..." He trailed off, watching the end of his tail wave slowly, "if I ever decide to go 'venturing then...you can come with me. Till then I'll be 'anging around the borders."

He got up and shook himself, letting his eyes fall upon her face. "Fer now you find that killer, and I'll keep my ears open fer any information that might prove to be useful." He nodded and found himself taken aback by her wink.

No one had ever winked at him before and he wasn't quite sure how to react to it. Instead he dipped his head and turned, walking away back to the border where his family awaited him.
