*She smiled shyly, and turned towards him.* And I see YOU aren't the type to give up, Chen. Only our first date, and you already have your priorities set, I see. Well, maybe you should just wait a teensy bit. You haven't even finished supper yet. *she winked at him, as if to confirm she knew what he was thinking. Her head was racing. She couldn't keep up her naive, spacey, blonde image if she played the game THAT way. So, she quickly turned away, as if to nullify all the things she had said and done for the past minute.*

Chen grinned. He was glad Kyle wasn't here, it seemed that he had more than just your average space cadet here. He pulled his arm back to finish the last bite of food. However, he was too smart. He wasn't going to slide his arm around her again.

He had to try another move, or wait for her to make a move...

*She had foreseen that he would take his rejection with a grain of salt, and simply act as if it had never happened. A slight nod, as she tilted her body towards him, as if to gesture for him to embrace her, without ever breaking her demure state. She fiddled with her fork absentmindedly.*
Well, I certainly like their rice...

Chen took the signal, and slid his arm around her again.

Lightest rice in all of Kumori.

Chen smiled slightly and lightly leaned against her as well.

Sleep slowly slipped away from his eyes, depositing him in the waking world with the delicate touch of a lover. He opened his violet orbs, though it did not matter if they were open or shuttered, and rose to his feet in the darkness. A small tail of purple light trailed from his eyes as he maneuvered about in the haven's shadowy depths. He yawned and stretched, a bit at a time, his entire body from the tips of his toes to his fingers, which he flexed multiple times to rid himself of a tiny bit of residual pain, the forerunnings of future arthritis. The great map he had created just falling into slumber remained on the ceiling, and he consulted it now, leaning back just far enough to take it all in.

"Hm. Trouble spot in Laburnum City, eh?"

Darkness mumbled a sinuous "yes" in many voices, and Gensou nodded. He retrieved the cloth lying on the arm of his chair and began to tie it around his eyes. "Massive fluctuation in the flows of dark energy of the city? Who is it, then? One of my pupils gone out to do a bit of homework? I don't recall listing "rampant mayhem" on any of the assignments, but you know my memory."

Darkness was not amused. Darkness explained that no, It did not know who the perpetrator was. Gensou tied the cloth in the back tightly, gave it a final jerk, and settled back into his chair lithely, positioning his knees at shoulder width and planting his feet flat upon the floor. He curled his toes inward a few times to soften his boots.

"So then. A free agent. How amusing. You can arrange to bring him here, of course."

Darkness shivered back from the High Priest, whose voice had suddenly grown cool and masterful.

"Now, Darkness, must I do everything myself? Surely you can handle a little devil with broken wings...?"

Darkness sighed, and a plaintive "nooooo" sounded through the halls of the haven. Gensou shook his head.

"Very well, bring him to me." he commanded, and Darkness obeyed.

The shadows behind Gensou quivered.

"Gensou-sama..."

Mercedes made her presence known. Manicured hands slid around his shoulders and she let her Dark aura flow and mix with his, revelling in euphoria of a power greater than hers. She lightly gripped the tops of his shoulders and nipped his lower left earlobe playfully. Her laugh was whispering and quiet.

"Your servant has returned, my Lord."

Gensou smiled very slightly as he felt the familiar aura of Mercedes mesh with his own. They worked so well together, like two hands perfectly matched and made to fit each other. He reached up to fondle her right breast.

"Ah, Mercedes, how goes work in the outside world?"

Only he and she and Darkness dared tread in this domain. He, because he was High Priest, she because, in a way, she was a part of him, and Darkness because...well, because Darkness was Darkness.

Well, Sir Chen..You are certainly forward about your desires. Well, let us finish supper, and then we shall see what will happen. Is that agreeable? *she winked again, and then finished eating her rice, the final forkful being savored in her mouth like candy.*

"Mmm, it goes," she replied," The Festival of the High Priestess Seyumi I is due to start soon."

She was dressed in black silk with silver accents. An ornate black dress that was slit on both sides to the top of her thighs. The dress was a halter dress with a plunging neckline. A charm hung down from the silver necklace that rested between her breasts. Her hair was how it had been in Laburnum, the top part swept back in a bun and the rest hanging long with strands of pearls woven in. Over the dress, she wore a black silk robe that was loosely belted on her hip to ward off the cold.

Mercedes kissed each of his cheeks and then knelt down, grasping his hand lightly. She pressed it to her lips and nipped the skin playfully with her small teeth.

"How have you been, my Lord?"

"Well, loveliness, I've been quite well. Though I must admit, the politicking is beginning to get to me in more ways than one." He teased her plump, sensuous lips with the tips of his index finger for a few moments before reclaiming it for his own. "You see that up there?" He pointed up at the map that had claimed the ceiling. Several points on it glowed more brightly than the rest. "See the brighter circles? Those are anomalies in the continuum of dark spirits and their magic. Now, there are the normal trouble spots; that b***h Catarinza, for instance. I still don't quite understand why she hangs around that old manor of hers; her husband has been dead for years..."

Darkness did Its equivalent of a cough, and Gensou rolled his eyes beneath the cloth that covered them. "At any rate, the latest occurred in Laburnum, though I doubt it has anything to do with this upcoming festival you've just informed me of." He tapped his temple with two fingers thoughtfully. "Very useful information, that."

Mercedes stood back up and cast her eyes in the direction he indicated. Indeed, she saw the bright spot by Laburnum City.

"That must have happened right before I left then," she said."

She made her staff materialize from the shadow of her silk robe, the ebony wood staff with the silver fitting and crystal in the end. She stood close to his body, her free hand upon his chest.

"The Festival starts in 2 days and rumor has it that both royal families are going to be there," she said," Perhaps it will be refreshing to go to the festival."

Her last words conveyed more things than one. She leaned her head against his shoulder and tilted her head up to n** at his throat.

"Nothing like the screams of the dying to help one forget boring politics. Hmm, that is why you are in charge and not I for I have no mind or patience for the trappings of politics. It's much more fun to follow orders, especially if they come from you."

She smiled, a truly devious and yet honest smile.

Chen smiled.

That is most agreeable.

Theodore beat Kyle into the temple, but not by much.

*pant* Ha! *pant* Beat ya! *pant*

You need to get back in shape Theed.

*pant* I'm a scientist. *pant* Not a fighter.

Kyle laughed, and he stretched inside the warm darkness of the temple. It was disturbed slightly, but no more than he's felt before.

Well, then I win, because I could go a few more miles.

Theodore laughed and regained his breath

Well, where to Oh Ye Of The Dark Shadowy Stuff?

"Screams...of the dying. Yes, that would be pleasant, loveliness." A distracted tone in his voice spoke of attention directed far off from the haven. Then, with more lucidity, "Brace yourself, Morgan, we're about to have company."

A sensation of pressure building inside the confines of the haven pushed against his forehead for few moments before a large pool of darkness exploded into being at his feet. He sensed the thing he had rescued, whatever it was, within the pool's depths, but for some reason, Darkness did not wish to let the disparate consciousness go.

"What on Gaia?" Gensou snapped, and drew himself up. He was not tall, but he had presence manifest even in the darkness of the haven. "Obey your master, spirits of shadow!"

Darkness quivered, whined, shook, and hummed, but in the end, the High Priest's will dominated. It spat up the creature it had brought, depositing him on the floor before Gensou's boots.

"It is a rare occurrence for a man other than myself to enter this place." the High Priest told the fallen figure. He knelt, drawing a large, wicked chakram from folds in his robe. "You are damaged. What will you give me in return for healing?"
PostPosted: Mon Nov 08, 2004 4:21 pm

Sacros laughed "What will i give you?" he said before closing his eyes and opening them, looking at the ceiling. "I will give you a promise" he said before shutting his eyes again "I promise you, if you heal me, i will kill Yukiko." he said before looking at him. His eyes were cold, his whole body constructed of darkness. He was strong, that was for sure. "I may need some assistance though" he said groaning as he sat up, his tattered wings hanging off his shoulders.

He definately would need help from this being. He would need all the help he could get. If it meant sacrificing himself for power, he would. He wanted power, absolute power. He wanted to spread death and murder. He wanted the end...

Gensou tapped his cheek several times with his left index finger before looking down at the being at his feet. "Hm. Yukiko, eh? Yes, she has been quite a bit of sunshine in my night of late. But then, the High Priests of Light have always been thus. Why should her daughter be any different?" He shook his head. "But I digress. You need healing, and I promised to procure some measure of it."

He stood up and turned away from Sacros so that he could contemplate the enormous, dark clock that stood directly opposite from him in this position. "Unfortunately, darkness is not exactly accustomed to repairing the ravages of life. It is more suited toward committing them. Now, we have three options that stand before us."

The High Priest took a few steps toward the clock and stopped again, whirling to face the fallen creature. "You appear to be a strange anomaly indeed. Composed of darkness, yet not entirely of Darkness, you have a will of your own. Twisted and evil that will may be, but it is nonetheless a will, an emulation of what marks humans for what they are. Now, the first possibility open to us is that I rebuild you entirely, from scratch, retaining only your soul and attaching it to the new homunculus."

He spread his hands. "Since the festival occurs two days hence, and your new body would not be complete for at least a month, I do not expect this method will allow you to fulfill your half of the bargain in a timely manner. This is not desirable, unless you choose to find some other trinket to please me."

"I could use a bit of my blood to heal the damage done to your wings, since I am suffused with a great deal of dark energy. However, this would involve your being tied to me indelibly and for eternity, which you probably don't want and I certainly don't."

"The third method is one you perhaps might find more attractive, since it will give you a chance to meet the being that is effectively your mother." He paused, pulled a long, slender key of gold on a chain from around his neck. "I can contact Her for you, if you so choose. I am a priest, after all."
