MiLK` Kupi-Chan MiLK` Kupi-Chan I really like the ones that swirl around your ears. I saw some pictures on bmezine, and loved it. They had some when I went to get my labret done, but apart from being too large for my ear, they were also 85 bucks. So.. yeah. xd Some jewlery, especially larged gauged jewelry is either extremley expensive because of the fact they're large and because they could be a custom style. Most custom jewelry is expensive. =/Yeah, this was a rather large one, and was made of ivory, I believe. That or bone, I wasn't sure. Swirly Ear-thing, for lack of better name. Yeah I've seen those before. How about this :

God that is awesome. I want to do that. Or at least just completely cover my ear with captive rings. The only thing is I have some pretty long hair so it tends to cover it up a lot.

I remember being like 11 or something and watching the Discovery Channel. It was a show about this African tribe, and one part was about how they stretched their piercings. They were HUGE!! Like, foot long wooden plates flapping in their earlobes and lips... I thought it was kinda freaky but at the same time they were all laughing and flapping their lip disks... so it wasn't too scary, just odd and different. After that I had never thought about stretching. When I was 16 I made friends with a girl in one of my classes at school. I guess she was the first person I knew that had stretched ears. I think she did most of the stretchig with stuff around the house : but I still hadn't thought of doing it rmyself. I had been wearing the same hoops for a lonnnnng time and wanted a change in jewellery. I fell in love with cirdular barbells, but after looking around in the mall I found that they only came in larger gauges. I did a lot of research about gauges and stretching and whatever, and decided to stretch to 14g to fit the earrings I loved. I missed one important part though - don't try to stretch with externally threaded jewellery! It jsut doesn't go through. I ended up stretching with a 14g captive bead ring of a friend's and then following through with my own jewellery. 2 months later I bought some 12g CBRs and they slipped in easily. It's been 3 months now and I have some 10g CBRs that don't want to go in so easily. I think this time I'm going to have to buy a taper.
I plan to have my bottom holes at maybe.. 4g, my second holes at 10g, and I also want third holes that I will keep at 14g. I think it will look quite nice when I'm all done! I was thinking of stretching my septum but 14g looks good on me (I am a rather short/small person).

Interesting story. ^^
I can't remember WHAT got me into stretching, but it started in 8th grade. And then I stopped because my mom got mad. Now I'm at 6g ready to go to 4g in my left ear anyway. I play with that ear a lot during class, so it's bigger than my right one - which is still at 8g. ^^;
Ah well. I really want to level them out before going bigger. So I think I'll wait before going to 4g.

I have a BIG deal with streching and such. It is becoming very popular and it is something you can't really take back unless you want to get them stitched up. (My friend had to do it to join the army). Now, why do I have such a big deal about this stretching popularity happing.
One: Kids who are like 12 (no affense to anyone here) are doing it because they are cool and punk yo'. That is not cool.
Two: I believe people who get things stretched should be doing it for the life style of the tribalness of it all. Tribal tattoos, and such.
Three: like I said above kids, you can't take something like that back unless you want to stitch it up. So like all the grownups say. "remeber when you are 80 you are going to be looking at that big sagging whole in your ear."
That is just my opinon on the idea. What do you all think??

When you said you have to get the holes sewn up, you'd be right if you're talking about big holes. However, MOST kids who aren't ready to stretch past 0g or 00g, can still take out the jewelry and let it close. It takes a long time, but I've seen it happen.
I know that it's popular for younger kids to wear 14-10g jewlery. But this doesn't mean they know what they're doing or where it's from etc.
I just don't really let it bother me too much. If kids want to try and be cool, fine whatever, they'll eventually see how stupid they look and be themselves.
Most people don't do anything to themselves in order to be different. They do it because they want to be themselves.

Your ear is pretty elastic. The only time you'd be left with a permanent hole is if you had a dermal punching, and they actually punched a hole through your ear. They're really only do that up to 4g tho, as otherwise issues of how much of your ear is left comes into play. Otherwise, it'll take time, but it will shrink back down.
At least, that's what my piercer told me. O.o;

But then again, being that I am still in high school (graduating this year thank God.) Some kids do things to themselves in order to be different, not to be themselves, at least that is what I have noticed. It could be because we are also from different communities and everything. I live in a small town that is getting bigger where all the kids are "punks" or emos or wanna be goths or all of the above. I dunno anymore. I think it is all silly. I think the phase passes once you get out of high school, or once you reace your self actulization point on your Hierarchy of needs. Maslow, what a crazy guy he was. Loves him. whee heart heart

I agree with you that most kids [15 and under usually] do things because they're different and cool, but when you get into high school and you realize who you are, times change. You get out of trying so hard to be different that it just comes naturally if that's who you really are anyway.
But as far as stretching ears, it could be a fade for some people that's why a lot of kids don't go too big and stay small for a bit because their parents will get mad or something. Etc.
I plan to look the way I do forever. Even when I'm old and wandering about with a cane, I'll have my tattoos and piercings that I'll love forever. I think that'd be also an interesting way to be remembered by as an elderly person. ^^

I actually do plan on dermal punching my right ear to an 8g.
