Obscurus goddess_of_fire87 Obscurus I do both, but mostly psi feeding. I tend to shy away from most of the community just because of the open embracing of the word "vampire" and all of the stereotypes and connotations that are attached to it. Whether it is a disease or something like that I can't say. I feel that it's a part of me at the deepest level and there isn't anything I can do about it aside from learn to control and manage it better, which I am doing. I believe that very few of the people running around claiming to be living vampires actually are. Most of them are in their teens and move onto something else when it becomes popular. Just a matter of seeking identity. yes this is true that most who claim to be vamps of any sort are teens and they will grow out of it. but have you ever been physically close to another? in public or private? What do you mean by close? Intimate? Or just in the same room/area? In that case it would be neither, as far as I know. Supposedly we have "vampdar" which allows us to pick out others of our kind. I get vibes from people sometimes, but no one has ever confirmed with me that they were a vampire. either but i was aiming for same area. truthfully they won't confirm anything unless they know themselves to be and if they are strong enough to sense that you are as well. it is actually natural for our kind to avoid each other (the whole loner part is true we don't like sharing our territory). i am rare even when i talk about the vamp part. i am naturally powerful, not gloating or anything just being straight, when i awoke my friends could barely tolerate me, it was hard for me to control myself, i had others seek me out of a crowd claiming i was almost coercing them towards me, so yes that vampdar is actually true. it is possible to sense others around. it's like a slight tugging on the shirt feeling your eyes will even look straight at them finding them with ease if you allow your subconscience to look instead of you physically looking. i ran into a sang, we have a nuetral friend, we glared at each other the intire time. and snapped at people who tried making us talk to each other. it was weird to have a natural dislike for someone i never met before then. we try our best even now to avoid each other. and i have ran into a couple other psychic vamps and the intire time around them seemed like we were competing for center of attention a big pissing contest. stronger one always wins. i have only met one that was stronger than me and we actually get along. haha

Personaly, I believe in both. I lean more towrds the pys vampireism though. The whole blood drinking thing, I see as should only go on between two people who have a very strong connection eternaly and also have marrige vows. : )...Also I highly advise getting tests for diseases : )

Captain Raven Blackwing I only believe in the Chi vampire.....its rather easy to feed off of ppl energy...or lifeforce.....the blood sucking vampire is hoolywood and nothing more.... The idea behind the blood vampires is that they process the chi in the blood better than drawing the chi directly. They need a physical medium, so to speak.

My best friend of seven years was a psychic vampire. It's not necessarily what you'd think when you think of vampires- not malevolent, or giving off evil vibes, or even (vampire stereotype) attractive in either body or aura. I thought she was a nice enough person, but the thing with energy vampires is that even if they don't mean to, they love to feed off of collective energies. What I mean by that is the cycling up of psychic energy that occurs when people, especially those with close bonds, gather (related to how if there are ten people in a room, and one yawns, usually at least seven of the others will yawn, or with babies crying. It's a natural, innate response, only lacking in those with severe communication disorders, such as Autism). This collective energy draws them, and they feed off it, causing the collective energy to lower, and sometimes the mood as well. The energy vampire will love misery and other strong emotions, and are likely to try and attach themselves to a catalyst. Catalysts are the opposite of energy vamps, and are usually vibrant people who unintentionally draw others to them, are pleasant people to be around, and have an infectious mood. If a catalyst is introduced to a setting with some good collective energy, then the amount of energy present will usually triple, just by their presence and participation. Another of my friends was a very strong catalyst, the strongest I've ever met, a mutual acquaintance of the energy vampire's. She has bipolar disorder (the catalyst) so she could exponentially increase or decrease the amount of energy in the room.
As far as sanguine vampires go, I don't doubt that they existed, but I believe that the transfer from blood to energy was an evolutionary step, and that occurences of sanguinary vampirism today are either the false machinations of overwrought minds or freak happenings (such as the genetic sequence that gives birth to a true albino).

Personally, I believe in both.
Here's a question I'd like to pop before I rant about myself: What, exactly, makes a vampire a "vampire," and not a different vampiric creature? It's something that's always bugged me, seeing as succubi (demons that feed off of lust) are often lumped together with typical movie vampires.
My guess: Psi and sang vamps are both otherwise human, but vampiric demons are decidedly not. Just a thought. sweatdrop

There are a few things that make a vampire a vampire:
-They are humans but... -They are unusually sensitive to light -They burn easily -They develope an unquinchable thirst that only be satisfied by human blood. -and some like myself love the dark and find it very hard to sleep at night.

I've had several encounters with vampires in my short time on this earth, I've even had their fangs break skin on me. This supports my theory that vampires do not change every victim.
I've determined that they have the following attributes, most of which correspond with xX-Pirate King-Xx's data.
-They hate sunlight but do not burn immediately unless they have not had blood for a large amount of time. - They exhibit an allergic reaction to certain materials. - Their canines are usually not as pronounced as the stereotype vampire but they are unusually sharp. - Their skin is usually pale - They heal quicker than regular humans, though not instantaneously. The shortest time measured for a wound has been 1 1/2 days.
I have several theories regarding the abilities of a vampire
- Their saliva contains an enzyme that numbs the wounds of the victim. - Holy water, blessed crosses, prayer, and scripture seems to harm them, though I don't know if they're faking it or if its simply ones that are completely unholy. As a disclaimer I'm not shoving my faith into this research, I am not Christian. ((No offense to those who are, I respect your faith)) - The blood does not have to be fresh, they can thrive off of hospital blood.
That is all the information I've had time to collect from my test subject, and yes the subject is willing.

Thanks for taking the time to put this together! 3nodding Holy magic works on me, but only in a very large concentration. I felt burns were my wings were when I was in the Vatican (grr, Catholic parents HAD to drag me in there...While pretty, it HURT), but was just fine in Notre Dame and one of the other French cathedrals.

I prefer to collect my information using scientific tests in person but thanks for the offer.
I don't trust many internet vampires, werewolves, or other people who claim to be a mythical being over the internet.
Vampires are becoming increasingly rare and are difficult to find, especially considering that they tend to stick to darker places of the world.
If anyone wants updates on my research feel free to PM me at any time, I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
Also I must ask, ShadowKuroKarasu, you have wings? What kind of being are you then, I have yet to encounter anything of this realm that had wings.
