... Dear JournalVin threw open his make shift door and quickly followed with a shut, pacing toward the shag hemp made rug that laid in the center of the room. Vin sat Arranos down amongst his toys and scrambled for his pen and hidden journal.
Scratching at his head, Vin paused for a moment. Thinking... What am I doing?
Shaking his head back and forth, Vin quickly flipped the pages over one after another until a blank page shown it's self to the light.
"Dear Journal" Vin began to etch his story.
7|30|06
"Dear Journal, It seems I'm increasingly writing in you as of late. Arranos and I went to the beach again. It's his favorite place after all. Well things didn't go according to plan. We met some one... some one new... they had an a pair of Iridae twins of there own, but they where still crystals. Who knows how long till the two arrive.
If these guys are falling.... there seems to be a lot falling. I don't know why either, but it must be bad for this to happen, right?
His name was Drake and he knew what his twins where the guardian of, but I don't know what of Arranos... I need to meet back up with the medium and question her about this. I need to find want... well more like I want to find out.... maybe she could tell me why Arranos 'fell'. It worries me sort of... I want to know.... so It can be prevented again!"
Vin released a sigh and closed the journal and replaced the book back where it belonged, hidden from all sight. Throwing the pen on the floor, Vin plopped down on Arranos. Tickling the poor babe.

... Twins? PRP between Moonlit Monkey and Kyocho
Moonlit Monkey = Green Kyocho = Black -------------------------------------------------- After a very very heated 'discussion' with his wife, Drake had to get out of the house. So he got Kupalo and Hina and put them in the stroller he had gotten before the crystals cracked into his gorgeous babies. Kupalo was babbling to himself happily, while Hina seemed mildly upset, but wasn't fussing as she held onto her doll and sucked on her passafier.
Drake on the other hand was blowing off steam as he walked, so they were going at a fairly quick pace. Vin was tossing the blue baby into the air, not giving a care in the world. The two where heading off to the beach and to there original spot they had always vacationed at for the day. The two where so carefree and didn't care about anything. Setting back into his mind the worries of all these so called 'Iridae'. Even though they where growing in a mass of numbers. Today was a day to just 'Chill'. Vin released a hearty laugh along with Arranos' giggles. The pair took a turn and left behind the rocky terrain and kicked up sand with every step. The ocean waves crashed in the distance, almost soothing... but yet disruptive. Vin found great pleasure in the sounds of the waves... and hopefully Arranos too. Finding there local spot, Vin released the baby on the sand and plopped down. Letting the rays of sunlight wash over his body. "Ahhh..." Kupalo who was sitting in the front of the two seat stroller, saw the man and baby cross onto the beach that they had wondered to. Getting excited to see another of his own age, he let out a loud babble trying to get Drake's attention.
Bringing himself out of his rut, to the baby's sounds he forced a smile and stopped to look around.
"What is it Pono, what do you see? Ah! Vin.. You guys wanna go to the beach? Play in the sand?" His tone wasn't exactly babytalk tone, but it was nice, pleasant and happy.
No sound from Hina was a signal for a go-ahead. With that, Drake headed toward where he had met the man and blue baby before. After a couple seconds of sand-to-stroller he decided to go back and park it and simply carry the two babies. Careful of their wings, he picked up the two babies and held one in each arm after locking the stroller to a bike rack.
Once they got to the spot, Drake cleared his throat before he spoke, "Hey, Vin. Mind if the three of us join you?" Vin focused long and hard on the voice of the man. With out turning his head, "Umm... Drake right? But three of you?" Finally turning his head, Vin saw the two the man carried between his arms. "Ahh, I see they have finally arrived!" Vin smiled, "How exciting!" Partially lying, thoughts returning back into his mind about the ever increasing population of Iridae. "I don't mind, I'm sure Arranos would love the company!" Vin tapped Arranos on the shoulder. "Hey dude, we got some company!" Arranos turned his head slightly, looking up at the familiar man. But the two between his arms he didn't recognize, but something seemed to click as to what they where. Releasing a slight giggling noise, the baby of blue crawled over his guardian's leg and plopped down. Waiting for the two others. Drake nodded, sencing the insincerity a bit, but brushing it off as Elvin behavior he sat down in the sand, setting Hina and Kupalo down near the blue boy.
"Alright guys, be good. Pono, that means you too..." Drake added the last bit pointing his finger at the baby, knowing fully that he wasn't able to understand him totally.
Kupalo made a B-line for Arranos giving a little giggle, knowing exactly who the baby used to be. Hina was really the one who knew him better than others, his past business and hers went well together (most of the time). She was more shy around him at first but was right behind the quick moving Kupalo in greeting him.Arranos continued his expedition over his guardians leg and met up with the other two. Placing his hands up into the air like what Selah taught him to do. Releasing a giggling noise. Arranos tried to stand up, but just plopped down into the sand. "Dork!" Vin mumbled beneath his breath. A hint of laughter could be sensed from the sound of the Elf's voice. "So what have you been up to? Other than... taking care of a pair of twins." Vin scratched at his head. So... there is another pair of twins. How interesting...Kupalo looked at the raised hand as if the blue boy was crazy. Not sure what to do with the hand infront of him he raised his eyebrow verry slowly and just a little bit with a concentrating look. Which resulted in his diaper to become a little heavier. Paying it no mind, he dug his hands into the sand and picked up a little, and started to get a little agrivated as the sand slipped between his fingers before he could plop it infront of Arranos.
Hina watched her brother, confused to his actions and decided to pay more attention to the other boy. When he tried to stand up, she looked a little envious, she had just managed to master crawling. But no matter, she reached out and touched his forehead then made a little squee sound and slapped the sand as her passafire fell out of her mouth and around her neck. For once, this didn't result in her screaming.
Their guardian was watching them intently, praying they didn't try to eat the newly found substance. "Well, having marital issues. But what's new there..." Actually, it was quite new. After all his years of marriage they havn't gotten into a fight since they remarried. "But, besides that, these two take up most of my time. Glad I have an assistant at the bar.. I can only go there in the daytime. Hina doesn't like loud noises much.." Arranos watched the girl inventively. Following her every move. The baby of blue giggled softly. Feeling the girl touch is forehead. No one has ever done that before. Placing his own hands on his forehead Arranos felt the gems that protruded from the skin. Arranos tilted his head, eyeing the other boy adorned in dark blue designs. Gawking at him. Comparing the blue of his designs to the blue of his own skin and gems. Digging his own hands into the sand. "Hina? What are there names?" Vin cocked his head slightly confused. Now scratching at his head. Vin watched as the three played in the sand. Curious little Iridae. Hina rubbed her eye before touching the boy's gems on his shoulder and then his wings. When she saw something pretty, she had to touch it. And the bright colors were something that appealed to her like nothing else. With each new surface and color she gave out a little giggle, the shyness quickly rubbing off. She began babbling a little, mostly to herself.
Drake pointed to the baby with pink in her wings, "That one's Hina. And that other trouble maker is Kupalo. I call him Pono. It's something my grandfather used to call me. It means good and pure, a term of endearment wher I'm from." His chest was filling with pride every time he took a breath. He twitched a little though, having to had quit smoking again when they came.
Kupalo after a few moments saw the blue one's white markings on his arm then looked down to his own. Making a sound as if an engine were starting with his lips he smiled and starting burying his feet in the sand.Arranos squirmed slightly from the touch of the other baby. It was giving him chills up his spine and arms. Lifting up his own arm to view the gems that protruded from his skin. The baby saw nothing special about them. Tilting his small frame forward, Arranos dug his hands into the sand and drew clumps of sand close to his body. Building mounds and more mounds. Potentially building some kind of building of sort. Arranos released a gurgling giggling noise. "There nice names!" Vin smiled, thinking to himself silently. Maybe having these Iridae here wasn't a bad thing. In ways there gifts, but how exactly did they get here and why? At least why was Arranos here and what was he guardian of? Vin shook his head, ignoring the mind assaulting comments to himself.

.. Crab! ORP
Kyocho = Black Pales = Dark Red Rayne = Dark Blue ---------------------------------------- Vin whistled a happy tune. Listening to his voice echoing out through the stagnate air. The two where heading out yet again to the beach. It seemed to be there favorite local spot to relax and have some fun... and on the plus side it kept the little blue baby content. The wild elf adorned in a full body of tattoos removed his shoes just as soon as they finally hit the sand that lined the grain plane from the smooth concrete sidewalk. "Yay we... are finally here!" Vin said smiling down on the grumpy looking Arranos. The baby obviously had a look of 'let me down' written across his face, but his guardian wasn't going to allow such a thing. "I'll let you down in a minute," Vin mumbled, reaching around to retrieve the rolled up brown colored towel from his backpack. The guardian set down the child and began unrolling the soft towel out. Unaware of what Arranos was getting into. A bright red and white looking creature began to scurry across the sand. Kicking up sand with every foot step it took. Arranos saw this and instantly thought of the animal as a toy. With a happy resounding gurgle the giggle. The blue baby began his hunt. Lucien was grummbling as he walked down along the beach, it had been a while since he had been here, almost a year or something like that. He looked out over the water, watching it come in and out in waves. His tail swished back and forth a moment before his attention was draw to the ones that were following him and he gave a sighing sound. This was so embaressing... By the time he'd made it to the beach with a whole swarm of various critters following after him, mostly the winged kind. Butterflies, bees, moths, dragonflies, and a few other types. Lucien lifted his hand and waved it to attempt to get them to drop back a bit but that only worked for a moment before they returned.
Shaking his head he turned to look around, catching site of the others that were there, normally it wouldn't mean anything to him. There were people everywhere after all. It was the fact that the necklace about his neck seemed to react to them. He looked down at the sixwinged gem curiuosly. The young red haired man stepped onto the soft sandy beach, but his arms were occupied with a small four-armed bundle of white haired joy. Though joy didn't seem to be what crossed the infant's face as she buried her face into the crook of the man's neck. Obviously the child was objecting to something about the environment. The man glanced down at the back of the child's head as he was unable to efficiently move his head to get a proper look.
Blaed sighed a bit jostling her gently to get her to lift her head away from his neck. It didn't seem like a good idea to let the fanged infant anywhere near his neck. Not to say he didn't trust the babe, but still accidents did happen. He didn't particularly feel like being a statistic.
"C'mon, Metis, it isn't that bad out here is it?" Blaed muttered to the child in a cajoling tone as she indignantly looked up at him for the jostling. The child referred to as Metis only gave a soft unhappy whine and squinted at him as if to make a point. Vin sighed in relief and flung himself backwards into the sand. It was hot out, but it was still a rather nice day. No clouds hung from the blue sky. Vin finally woke up to reality. Where’s Arranos? "Arranos?" Vin shot himself back up and panicked like no other. "Arranos?" Vin scratched at his head. Looking to his left, a trail of two lines edged there way down through the sand and down a small hill. "Ah.. ha!" Vin mustered up. Following the two lines. The guardian found the baby of blue. Almost with his hands around the red crab, who was annoyed by the time the guardian had found the two. "What are you doing?" Vin reached out and latched onto the child. "Next time don't run off like that!" Vin smiled. Arranos returned a grumpy grin. Arranos pressed his face into the guardians shoulder. Yawning a bit, being a little tired out from the heat of the sun. The blue baby began to rub his head back and forth on Vin's shirt. Lucien lifted his hand up to run it through his hair, brushing it back. He didn't say anything just watched the other man and the child before looking down at Nova's crystal, curious upon whether or not what he was guessing was true. He wanted to ask but would it seem a little off? To go up to someone at random and go 'excuse me but is your child an Iridae?' instead he sat down in the sand looking over the water but listened closely.
Maybe he would get a clue that would tell him what he needed to know? Then he would be able to ask them things he'd not been able to ask the Medium. He gave a sound of relief as a few of the bugs flittered off, butterflies, to move lazily about Arranos seeming drawn to him due to his coloring, maybe they thought him a flower Lucien thought to himself. Blaed felt naked without his rapiers, but he left them at home since he had no intention of exposing his newly emerged child to such things yet. He looked around the beach quietly getting an idea of the people surrounding him. An elf with a blue child, another interesting looking man sitting at the beach as well, and yet he wasn’t sure if he should approach either of them. It was not in the man to be shy.
He could be subtle, however, and thus he moved along and sat down a few feet away from Lucien, as if he had just so happened to choose that spot at random. This illusion was shattered as soon as the man had gotten the four-armed and winged infant situated upon his lap he addressed Lucien with a nod and then peered over at Vin and Arranos thoughtfully.
Metis peered over at Lucien as well. The person’s appearance intrigued her quite a bit. The blue child wasn’t exactly in her line of sight yet. Vin's elf ears perked. Hearing the rustling of sounds behind him in the distance. Stiffening his pose, Vin turned his head to the left to see who it was that had arrived at the beach. It was a man. Clad in red and black, one who had to be the oddest looking people he had ever seen in his life... but that’s not what caught his Elvin eyes. It was the gem hanging off his neck. A six winged butterfly with a smoke pouring out of it. Vin's eyes grew large in size as he quickly turned away. Are they stalking me now?Vin shook his head and smiled down to Arranos. The baby had a grumpy looking grin on his face. Peering over his guardians shoulder. Arranos' pinched his eyes and he focused on the child with multiple arms. Making a grabby hand reach out motion with his own hand. Vin gave Arranos a pat on the but as he sat the child down on there brown towel. Obviously trying to ignore the two as much as possible. Lucien looked over at the small, multi armed child a smile appearing on his lips. She reminded him of someone that he knew. He lifted his normal hand to give her a small wave then to the father, since the man had been polite enough to nod at him, "Nice day." He preferred the warm weather even if it brought out all sorts of bugs that wanted nothing more then follow around the crystal that he wore.
He was, at the moment oblvious to what the parent to the blue child was thinking, it was chance that brought him here and he was trying his best to keep quiet, not to ask a bunch of questions of the two of them.
It was hard though... and finally he blurted out to Blaed, "This is gonna sound odd but... is she an Iridae?" He flushed a little after he said it, as if it were one of the hardest things the teen had to do. Of late though he'd gotten into the habit of keeping to himself and those closest to him. Addressing strangers was a bit odd.Metis merely copied the waving motion with her own hand looking quite befuddled at the motion. It didn't seem logical to her, but weird looking man seemed interesting enough for her to consider echoing actions back at him.
The red-haired man glanced over at Lucien as he spoke and blinked grinning lightly, "I was going to ask you the same thing," he indicated to crystal about Lucien's neck which had a wisp coming from it. It showed that he had indeed noticed the crystal as well, but he didn’t show it when sitting next to the young man, "I just got a bit sidetracked is all. Yes, my little one is an Iridae." He responded to the question easily. Blaed felt he could at least trust Lucien since he also had a crystal. The red haired man was, however, not sure what to assume about the blue child and the elf.
The four-armed infant was now noticing movement and was watching Vin and Arranos. The blue child was now within her sight and he was making grabbing motions. The white haired girl canted her head slightly to the left. It was bright outside, but at least there were enough interesting individuals to keep her occupied. Arranos grumbled with a frown on his face. Staring blankly up at his guardian. A look of 'how dare you!' written on his face. The child's emotions seemed to change just as much as his own diaper does. "What’s up?" Vin whispered, trying to keep his voice down. But his Elvin ears twitched as a single word violated his hearing. 'Iridae' Vin heard the two talk about. "They must be..." Vin mumbled again, but this time a not just to himself. Arranos tilted his tiny figure to the left, trying to avert his eye sight around his guardians frail figure. Trying to keep the other child in his own range of sight. It was her wings and the string that hung off them that intrigued him the most. Having the urge to chew on the string. Lucien gave a sigh of relief then smiled, "Yeah, she is too." He said, motioning to the one around his neck. He could relax a bit now, had the man not known what he was talking about he didn't know how he would have reacted, no doubt have been rather embaressed. He looked over to Metis for a moment then back to the crystal, "Its hard to believe that this crystal will change into a child." He said, his long scorpion tail swishing back and forth behind him.
He was having a bit of a hard time articulating it would seem. He gave a bit of a laugh, "Sorry, I don't often go up and talk to people at random." He said glancing over to Blaed, "Was a bit curious though, if I am bothering you feel free to tell me." Blaed chuckled a bit and nodded, "You may call me Blaed by the way. This little one is Metis." He indicated the infant girl with the nod of his head. The way he introduced himself, however, indicated that Blaed was more of a nickname of sorts. A name he seemed to just offer up as a quick introduction or just on a whim to use around various people. Whatever his reasons were he kept them to himself for now.
The red haired man nodded to Lucien quietly, "It is, isn't it? My sister doubted it more than I did," Blaed laughed lightly and shrugged, "it's easier to be skeptical than it is to believe..."
Metis was intent now upon watching the blue boy or at least what she could see of him. Her wings sometimes shivered or the wind would blow across the beach ever so gently causing the string to sway ever so tantalizingly.
Blaed waved a hand dismissively at Lucien's comment, "I talk to people at random because I find that I meet interesting folks that way, and trust me if I hadn't wanted to chat I wouldn't have seated myself so strategically," he grinned a bit and shrugged, "curiosity often gets the better of me." Arranos eyed the wavering string on the multi-limbed girls wings. Causing a bit of drool to run down his mouth. It looked like the most enjoying thing in life to chew on. Arranos began to budge and crawl over his guardians lap. "Did you two say Iridae?" The elf called out. Keeping his frail figure turned away from the other two. Unsure of what he should do in this kind of situation. Vin was beginning to worry, two more Iridae. They must have fallen for some odd reason. Vin looked down at Arranos. Wondering why he had fallen himself. "Sorry I don't mean to edge my self into your conversations... it's just the moment seemed to be right!" "My name is Lucien." He said, introducing himself. He knew what it was like to have secrets so he wasn't one to push even if there was that moment of curiousity that he brushed away, "And I shouldn't be as I have seen a lot of odd things but a crystal becoming an angel child..." Even as a Fa'e and even after seeing some weird stuff that seemed a little odd to him. Metis though seemed to be all the proof that he needed that it was true even passed the Medium explaining it all.
"I find myself talking mostly to people of late." To much bother to try to make new friends but... this wasn't to bad he would have to admit.
He turned his head towards the voice of the elf that was with the blue skinned child at his question, shaking his head, "Not a problem. If we can start a conversation at random no reason why you can't join." Another guardian then. He wondered for a moment how many of Iridae were around after seeing these two."Nice to meet you, Lucien," he replied with a nod to the introduction. Blaed glanced down to make sure Metis was where he had put her last, on his lap, and she was.
Metis hadn't moved since she was placed there. She just staring at Arranos and watching how he reacted. The little girl did find it disturbing that there was a thin line of moisture coming out of his mouth. What was that?! Her small forehead wrinkled a bit. Did stuff like that come out of her mouth, too? Metis watched somewhat warily now.
Blaed glanced at the elf-like figure as he spoke up and chuckled, "Feel free to come talk with us, since you seem to know what we speak of," he invited, "I will try not to invade your personal bubble." He seemed to say as a promise. Vin seemed like he'd appreciate that sort of thing. Blaed himself had no 'personal bubble' of which he could ascertain. Vin watched Arranos warily. Seeing the drool pour from his mouth. Vin reached for the a corner of the towel and cleaned off the drizzle. "What are you doing?" Vin shot the baby a confused glance, only to receive a grumpy glare in return. The elf reached down and lifted his child up and turned his frail figure around and plopped Arranos back down, but this time the child had no objects in the way of watching the girl. Arranos giggled and laughed. Throwing his hands up into the air in celebration of his victory. The blue baby tilted his head, seeing the look on the girls face. “Yeah… I guess I do know much about what you are talking about, but not as much as the Medium does.” Vin scratched at his head. Lucien was quite for a moment as he took in the two little ones, thought on his girlfriends daughter and it started to more and more sink in that he was going to be a father. One of those things that while he had known it for a while now after his talk with the Medium it was sinking in slowly. He lifted his hand up to fiddle with the crystal, watching the way the yellow mist floated around his fingers.
"I have a question since both of you have been through this and I have been unable to meet up with the Medium again to ask her. Do you have any idea of the little ones can hear anything while they are still inside of the crystals?" He'd found himself at times talking to it and he the question had been plagueing him. Metis was now more conscious that she had a mouth and something was in it and it wiggled aimlessly as she grew more aware of it. What disturbed the infant more was that she couldn't see what was in her own face! If she can't see inward then she should try to take it out to see if she can have a better look at it. Thus her upper right hand reached into her own mouth to try and catch her own tongue so that she may pull it out. Metis struggled a moment before she managed to catch the seemingly foreign object in her mouth with thumb and forefinger. The texture of the tongue was displeasing but she tried to pull anyhow. Soon the pulling hurt, but not enough to make her stop at the moment.
Blaed watched the spectacle, only partially listening to Lucien and Vin as they spoke. He wasn't going to stop her yet. Metis wouldn't learn anything if he stopped her at this point.
"I always talked to her, but I am not sure if she heard me or not when she was in the crystal." Blaed admitted to Lucien. Vin raised an eyebrow. Watching the girl stick a hand into her mouth. Tilting his head slightly. Vin lifted up his own hand and stared at it. Thinking that it must be food... and taste good... since she was trying to eat it. Arranos swiftly stuck his fist into his mouth and drool began to dribble out. Vin tilted his head, "What... are you doing?" The elf whispered. Staring at Arranos sitting in his lap. The elf shifted his gaze up to the other child and raised his own eyebrow. "Weird these guys are!" Vin manage to muffle over his hearty laugh. It gladdened Lucien a bit to hear that, so he wasn't the only one that talked to the crystal. Good, good. He looked down at Nova, smiling some. That made him feel a bit less odd about talking to her while she was inside of the crystal until she came out. Course being able to have one of his questions answered made a multitude more spring to mind, "One other question, what was it like when they appeared before you?" Was it something flashy and bright or would it be a surprise?
He really hoped that he wasn't going to drive the two older men crazy but when he found someone that may know the answers he was seeking he couldn't help but ask them.He laughed a bit and shrugged, "I was kinda asleep when it happened. Nothing flashy that I can recall, I just remember feeling this weight on my chest and when I didn't open my eyes the little tyke started pulling on my nose." Blaed reached up a hand and rubbed the bridge of his nose, but he seemed in good humor about the event as he was still laughing. The red haired man didn't seem to mind answering Lucien's questions, and in fact seemed glad to.
Metis stopped and stared at Arranos quietly and slowly removed her hand from her mouth and wiped her hand on her father's shirt so as to wipe away the slobber residue. Her tongue was still hanging out and she had forgotten about it, until she clamped her mouth shut and by doing that she bit her own tongue with her fangs. The girl went very tense and tears began to well up. That hurt more than the pulling!
Blaed had nodded in agreement to Vin about the children's currently strange behavior and even took Metis' wiping her own slobber on his shirt in stride and simply laughed it off before returning attention to Lucien and Vin. The red haired man looked down at his daughter and frowned while lifting her into his arms trying to soothe her before she could have the chance to wail at the indignity of it all.Vin slipped his hand out of his mouth and made a slish sloshing sound. Trying to taste if anything was left from his hand. Looking up at his guardian. Arranos released a long yawn before falling back on his chest. Vin looked down at the baby. "Looks like some one is getting ready for a nap," Vin shrugged his shoulders. "It looks like I better be heading out. It was very nice meeting you two." Vin stood up and retrieved Arrranos and flung the towel over his shoulder. "I hope we do get to meet again!" Vin smiled and trudged through the sand. "Oh and the name is Vin and this little guy is Arranos!" Vin laughed, almost forgetting to introduce himself earlier. He turned his frail figure around and headed off again. Lucien watched as the one called Vin and his son Arranos headed off giving them a wave, "I hope to see you again too." He called after their retreating forms his attention then went back to Blaed and Metis, "I thank you for answering my questions. I have been rather curious about somethings about Iridae."
And really he had no exact idea where the Medium lived having found her by accident the last time.
"I probably should be going too. I headed out for a walk only and ended up quite a ways from home." He said, pushing up to his feet, brushing off the sand with his hand and tail, "I hope that we get to meet up again too, maybe after Nova arrives she will be able to make friends with Metis."
He was hopeful that Nova did better by making friends then he himself did.Blaed freed a hand and waved farewell to Vin and Arranos as they introduced themselves and then departed. He himself started to stand up since they all seemed to be getting ready to depart. Metis had long ago snuggled up to her father's chest and was sniffling and whimpering softly. He dropped his hand and brushed his fingertips over her hair as he looked back at Lucien with a smile.
"I think that'd be wonderful," he said in response to Lucien's offer, "and perhaps we can become friends through that as well." He sounded quite sincere as he said this. Blaed smiled lightly, "We will have to find a way to arrange such a thing. I am afraid I have no pen or paper otherwise I'd offer my address."
Metis quietly started to doze off as she listened to the voices of Blaed and Lucien talk.
It wasn't as if Blaed was really expecting to make any sort of acquaintances this day, "I was going out to get Metis exposed to the world outside," he replied to Lucien's comment as to why he was out. Surely the younger man didn't ask, but it seemed good to know about the other's motives.Lucien's hands patted his pockets a moment before shaking his head, "Ah... no. Sorry I don't have anything on me either." He said, feeling a bit foolish for a moment then shook it off. No, he'd had no way of knowing that there would be a need for exchanging adressess so how would he have known that he would need to bring such things with him.
"Maybe we will be lucky and cross paths again?" He wasn't sure on whether or not hoping for such such would help or not but at the moment since they lacked the needed stuff to exchange infor it was all that they had. And he wanted to meet up with them again, especially after Nova arrived. The man grinned and shook his head, "No worries, we will meet up again. I like to roam quite a bit and I can be found just about anywhere." Blaed replied. Obviously it was his way of telling the other not to feel foolish or too badly. He seemed very confident about being able to meet up with the younger man. "I am sure the Fates will see to it that we meet again," he nodded sagely, "and I will make sure that I at least have some business cards made or something to hand off to you." Blaed smirked.
Looking up at the sky a moment he squinted a little as if trying to determine something and then looked back down at Lucien, "T's getting late, my friend, and so I shall take leave now. You take care of yourself and your little one. I am sure she will be here soon." His arms were currently busy holding onto Metis and he dared not move them for fear of waking her, "I'd wave or bow, but I am sure you understand I am a little tied up." He chuckled and then simply nodded, "Good day to you, Lucien. It has been a good meeting."
With that he turned his body in the direction he figured home was and began to walk

... Breakage!
So many adventures these two had traveled during the months they shared together. Arranos and Vin. They seemed to be getting along perfectly. They already found a common interest they both could share and it was the beach. Oh boy did they love visiting the beach, that’s where they met a lot of the other guardians of there own Iridaes.
It was Aelinye that the two had first met that was an actual Iridae that had finally materialized them selves into this world after Arranos had. It was interesting to see Third and her together. It made Vin wonder how there future would turn out. Would Vin be able to care for Arranos as a toddler? That was a chance he was willing to take. Arranos was apart of his life he wouldn’t be trading for anything in the world.
Vin glanced down to the blue bundle, wrapped in his dark blue blanket spotted with clouds. “I wish I could stare at you like this forever!” A tear began to run down his cheek. Watching as his child slept. It had been a long life of loneliness and now it was gone… there was actually some one there for him… some one to care about other than himself. Wiping away the wet tear.
I don’t want you to ever leave me! The guardian mumbled silently to himself. Moving his hand over the dangling gems, Vin gave the contraption a little push. Spinning amongst themselves, the sun’s rays began to pour in and shower down on the crystals. Raining down colors over the baby and the single room.
I cannot wait for you to grow, Vin moved away from the pure white cradle and positioned himself on the floor in a meditation pose. Legs crossed, arms resting against his legs, and his eyes closed. Vin began to focus deep in thought. Unaware of the happenings that where to show there prismatic light in just a few… moments.
Prismatic light began to flood the room from an unknown source. Vin… as blunt as he was couldn’t really see the light with his eyes closed shut. What help he is! The cradle began to moan and creek as extra weight was being forced down on the wood. Not until the sound breeched the stagnant air was Vin finally awoken from his trance like state.
“Huh?” Vin whispered, cracking open his eyes just a bit. Prismatic light blinded with in an instant “What the…” Vin caught himself just before a profound word slipped through his Elvin lips. Vin turned his blind body around. Trying to focus on the cause of the prismatic light. The light poured over his tanned body and over his eye lids. The more his frail figure turned the more light poured over his eye lids. Helping him guide his way.
“That’s coming form…” Vin stood up, balancing himself. With out his eye sight he was pretty much useless. “Arranos!” The guardian made his way over, tripping over loose floor boards and the rug that took it’s place on the center of the floor. “Owe…” Vin grumbled. Rubbing at his stubbed toe.
“Arranos!” Vin called out, reaching his destination. The elf’s eyes still closed shut. Vin ran into the cradle. Feeling all over the sides with his hands, feeling the bulging wood. “Did you gain weight?” Vin tilted his head. Finally the guardian reached his hands into the cradle and made contact with the child. A loud pitch rose into the air, sending the guardian flying to the ground. Clutching onto his over sensitive ears. “Gah…” Vin held his head between his legs, “Turn it off!” The guardian shouted.
The final note began to die down along with the prismatic light. Was it over?
Vin lifted his hands off his ears and moved his head from between his legs. Is it safe? Vin slowly opened his eyes, taking in the dwindling light. His Elvin eyes popped open. Taking in the sight before him. A bulging cradle at the brink of cracking. Vin stood up and wandered aimlessly over to the cradle, but before he could make it the cradle snapped into to two pieces.
Looking at the blue object that had once rested there in the dark blue cloth. Vin tilted his head, “Arranos?” Vin ran to the toddlers side. “You grew!” Vin reached down and pulled the child close to him. What a surprise to end the day. Vin looked out to the window. Seeing the sun set in the distance. The day was finally coming to an end… and what a long day it had been.

... MeetingCharcter Development
Kyocho: Black Flame: Red
Who are you? ------------------------- It had been a slow month or ... was it two? Any ways Vin couldn't recall how long ago his child Arranos has grown from his baby of a stage into this toddler form. So far it had been easy work, but who knew how long that would last. Leaving the house and heading out toward there favorite local... the beach. Vin carried a towel underneath one arm, along with a bag filled with sandwiches and other snack. In the other hand was a blue hand with white tattoo symbols etched into the skin.
“Hey bud, ready to have some fun at the beach?” The wild elf covered in tattoos questioned and prodded the boy.
Arranos just simply looked up and gave the guardian a stern look. “Sure…” Arranos shrugged his shoulders. Bringing his bat plushy close to his face.
Finally the two had arrived at there ‘secret spot’ and laid the towel out on the sand. Landing on there back sides the two began to chow down on the packed lunch. It was getting close to that time of the day for lunch.
This place still confused her, she was new to this place called Gaia but compared to the life she lead back on Earth she wasn't complaining, just..learning. Her name was Linda Haken, but she was Angel. That was what her mother called her.
She was a proud woman, a person could see that in her walk. She was rather tall for a woman, about 5'10 and a little on the thin side (hard to get three square meals when on the run). She dressed in 'goth' style, black jeans and t-shirt, covered with an ankle long over coat, for long rainy nights. On her feet she wrote heavy combat boots, meant to be able to travel over anything and keep her feet dry. Her face was angular, long nose, strong chin, flared out cheek bones. Her eyes were large and hard like emeralds, her lips full and stoburn. Her hair pulled back in a short pony tail and a flamming red. She looked ready for a fight, or in great need of a laugh.
Vin wasn’t really expecting to meet any one at the beach today. Since they kind of tried to hide the two of them from the general public, but that wouldn’t mean some one could venture on down the beach and find the two. Vin was always up to meeting new people though!
Arranos took a big bite of his sandwich and chewed diligently, “Vin, why do we always come to the beach?” The boy of blue and gems prodded at his guardian trying to mouth the words with a mouthful of bread and turkey slices.
“Well I don’t know.. Why? Don’t you like it here?” Vin took another bite of his sandwich and mimicked Arranos in the attempt to mouth his next words. “I’ve always been bringing you here ever since I got you and this is where I mostly meet the others.” The elf nodded.
And Angel was one to go where people don't linger. Her general distrust of the common populus hasn't faded yet and her distrust of anything relating to a goverment will probly never fade. Still she found herself at a beach, odd for one of her...talents but she merely grined, looking out at the water, walking along side it, talking, to herself or it, hard to tell.
"I'm searching for someone" she murrmered, "Someone important, someone special. I hope I can find him here. Would you..." the red hair woman trailed off as she heard the sound of other voices, emerald eyes scaned the beach ahead as she froze for a moment at what she found. A....blue boy! she seen some strange things since comming to Gaia...but this!?
Arranos shrugged his shoulders as he brought his sandwich up to his mouth to take another bite. “I like being here Vin.” The boy nodded lightly. A few pieces of his sandwich flinging from his mouth and onto the towel bellow the two.
Vin began to chuckle warmly at the flying food. “Haven’t I ever told you to not talk with your mouth full?” Vin padded Arranos on his multicolored head.
Arranos began to warm up to the guardian, his stern look began to meld away into the blue flesh.. But to only return at a smile and a laugh. How long would this last for though? “No you never said nothing like that to me!” Arranos chuckled again. Sending more food flying from his mouth and onto the towel.
Angel stared and then got closer, her hands carefully kept into her pockets. She aroched carefully but people in this world seemed friendlier then most she found on Earth. She'd like to know more about this blue child. Why was he blue? And were those gemstones? Oh, how intresting.
Angel was never a shy one, or one to beat aroudn the bush so she aproched the pair, people she never met before and gave them a wave, though not a smile before crocuhing down to look at the blue gemstone. "hello" she said clearly to just the one that intrest her.
Arranos looked blankly and stared up at the woman that approached the two. A stern look across his face. The boy seemed to be studying her attentively, watching her every move like a watch dog. “Hi.” Arranos muttered lightly. A sense of confusion hidden in his words.
Vin tilted his head, slightly confused at this woman’s actions. “Umm… hi. Is there something we could help you with? Are you lost?” The elf seemed to ask in a stern voice, but still friendly at that.
"You need to have a destination to be lost" Angel murrmered, watching the boy. "I'm simply walking. I was just intrested in this boy's skin" she told them honesty, not much sense lieing unless their was a good reason for it. "I never seen blue skin before" she infromed them, "I find it intresting, Are they're many like you in Gaia?" she asked the boy directly, pertty much ignoring the 'father'. Angel wasn't really one for manners if no body could geuss by now. "I haven't been here long, so I wouldn't know"
“Huh?” Arranos shot the woman a confused glance, but then quickly stared up at his guardian in an instant. “What did the woman say?” Arranos tapped his free uncovered hand on his chin a few times.
Vin chuckled warmly. “I’ll answer that one, Arranos is one of a kind. Much like the gems he has on his skin. They might all look the same, but they are always built differently from one another.” The elf nodded. “So you haven’t been here long, on Gaia?”
"Ohhh" rather intresting, she turned to the boy and finally let herself sit on the ground, instead of crouching. Odd, a boy just being so oddly different and yet...unafraid...she sighed, youth, it was so precious. "Nope" she answered the man, turning to him now, though she still looked at the gemstone boy often. "I'm fresh newbie from Earth"
“Newbie?” Vin was slightly confused at the way this woman phrased her words. “Oh well any ways. My name is Vin and this little guy is named Arranos.” Vin nodded his head with a warm smile reaching from ear to ear.
“Well there really isn’t to much to Gaia I guess…” The elf shrugged his shoulders. “I’ve been here for as long as I can remember.”
Arranos smirked and smiled. “Vin what is a newbie?” The baby of blue turned his back toward the woman and stared up at his guardian. The bat plushy still being clung to.
Vin tapped his finger on the boys lips and shrugged his own shoulders.
"It's someone who is new at something or somewhere" Angel explained to the boy...no, Arranos, she explained to Arranos. "I've only been here a few weeks and I'm still getting use to living it. It's alot different then from my life on earth" she adited with a shrug, "Oh, my name is Angel" she added suddenly, pulling out a hand and ofering it. "At least that's what I like people to call me"
Vin took her hand in his. “It’s really nice to meet you, I think…” The elf some what grinned.
Arranos let out a long yawn. Then looked up at his guardian with puppy dog eyes. Sending Vin a hidden message underneath his emotion.
Vin quickly knew what this meant. I guess the two had been spending to much time today at the beach and it would be a good thing to head home and get some dinner. Vin nodded to the boy of blue and looked up at Angel. “It looks like we need to take off for the night.” the elf picked himself up and patted his clothing off then reached down and took a hold of Arranos’ hand and gave the little blue boy some assistance.
“It was nice meeting you, I hope we will see you around.”
She blinked at the departure but shrugged and rose herself, "No problem. You proably wont, I'm kinda...traveling all around. Then again Gaia seems to be a much smaller place then earth" she mentioned looking around and then turned back to them befor shruging again. "Fate will place us where she pleases" she replied at last. "It was nice to meet you too" she asured him.
“Well see what happens.” The elf nodded. Unsure of what would be to come in the near future. Vin held tighter on to Arranos’ hand. The blue boys gems prodded at the elf’s palm. “Come on Arranos lets get home and get you something to eat!” Vin smiled then turned away from the woman and headed off into the distance. Following the familiar path that they had always taken.
She watched the pair as he left, eyes on the odd boy. Intresting pair, she thought to herself. She hope fate put them in each other's path again, she look forward to meeting them again. Till then though Angel turned and started to walk back down the beach. She had to find a place to stay for the night.

... Coffee!Kyocho: Black Rayne: Blue
Mmnn... Coffee! ------------------------------ It was a bitter and some what cold day. Halloween was quickly approaching the ol` town of Durem. The two: Vin and Arranos. Decided to take refugee in a local coffee shack. Sitting around a circular table, Vin occupied his own seat and Arranos with his own. Which of who was busy being occupied with a coloring book and a few colorful crayons. Of course he wasn't the best at coloring.
Vin was sipping away at his regular type of drink. Black coffee with a few teaspoons of creamer. Pondering away at why there is a baby seat at the table across from him. Something had to occupy his mind.
They were a ways from home, bundled up like snowmen as they made their way through town. He hated winter, this would bet he second one that he were faced with since his rebirth in Gaia. Nova was struggling with her first, hiding in her blankets and babytalking at him, sounding rather annoyed with something. It was either the weather, the lack of bugs due to the weather, or maybe something else that would become apparent soon enough. Stopping at a coffee shop wasn't high up on the list of things he had to do amongst his errands but Nova saw the places, and the decorative butterflies that adorned the windows as the decorations it would seem hadn't been completely changed over to Halloween, and she wanted to go!
He gave in after a moments worth of small, gloved hands tugging at his hair. This was just a taste of things to come, watch him be a pushover of a parent just like his own mother was... Giving a nod he juggled her so that she was leaning against the smooth side of his claw so he could reach forward with his normal hand to push the door open. It was a welcome change, the warmth inside enveloping them as they closed the door against the cold, "Much better." He murmured, looking around before heading over to the counter to see what there was to be had, something... something. Ah-ha!
"I'd like a couple of those please, and a small juice for her, and..." What for him? He wasn't the biggest fan of coffee unless half of it was masked with milk. Something about the taste any other way the scorpion wasn't a fan off, so he ordered it that way. After getting their drinks and the sugar cookies for Nova, who'd pulled her head out of her hood to look around, turned to look for a table to sit at.
While he was a bit oblivious to the others in the place Nova seem to be looking around as if sensing something familiar about.
Arranos let out a long yawn as he glanced up from his coloring to his guardian with tired blinking eyes. "Vin. Do you like my picture?" The toddler lifted up his book as much as his arms would let him.
Vin simply leaned over and took a glance and nodded. "Ooh yeah I really like it. Great job!" The elf grinned ear from ear. Watching as the toddler returned to his coloring.
A brisk cold wind passed over the elf's bare arms. Quickly taking a glance at who had walked in. The elf quickly put a name to the face, nova and her guardian. Waving his free arm in the air. The elf signaled the two over to the table.
Lucien was able to balance everything, the little one was nestled in the crook of his claw arm against his chest saftely, in his hand was their order, and when he saw... Vin wasn't it? motioning towards them he lifted his tail to flick the end of it back and forth in a sort of wave, best he could do with his arms full, "Ahh, hello there." He greeted the pair of them, walking over to join them at their table gladdened by the invited. While he wasn't normally so social he decided that these two were different then just regular, every day people one because he'd met them before and two because Arranos was like Nova.
After settling into a set with the little Iridae sitting happily in his lap he turned to Vin, "Thank you." He said, giving him a nod, "How have the two of you been?" He asked, turning back to the stuff on hand so that he could move the cookies into reach of Nova and reached into his pocket to draw out a sippy cup.
Him getting things situated seemed like such a production... He had to hold the cup with one hand and popped it open with his teeth since he lacked a second good hand, it was then set on the table, out of the Nova's reach for the moment as he got the bottle of juice. It was opened in the same manner as the cup was, juice was poured into the cup, then the lid replaced before it was give over to Nova. He wouldn't ever ask for help one could tell that, not just out of stubborness but because he had spent his entire life doing things for himself with one hand, he was quite used to it.
Ahhh... but to have a second hand, an odd dream but one he dreamed of often.
After she was able to get a sip of her juice Nova was off to inspecting everything around her, nothing seemed to catch her interest for long though, fluttering about from place to place like a bee between flowers. That was until her blues eyes landed on Arranos... and went wide, "KYA!" She pointed at the colorful boy with her cookie, looking up at her father in awe, that boy... he was all... he looked pretty like a butterfly did!
"I'm doing good, and how about you Arranos? How are you doing yourself Lucien?" The wild elf cocked his head to the side and gazed down at his charge, allowing the young one speak for himself. Giving him a sense of independence.
"I doing ok." The blue boy nodded then returned to his coloring, but to only be disturbed once again by the yell of a child. Arranos sat his crayon down and glanced up. Batting his heavy tired eyes. The boy of gems took in the sight of the girl covered in bugs. "Why is she covered in bugs?"
"Aside from the weather cooling down I am doing quite well, thank you." He said, the cold never really did well in the way that it affected him. He got a bit groggy and sleepy, didn't want to go outside. Today though was special as he had things to do. Otherwise they would have stayed at home. He looked down at Nova and decided that she must be doing just as well as he was since she was smiling happily. Then again it could also be the cookies?
Lucien turned his eyes to the blue skinned boy, the color making him think of Aylana once more, "I was told that she is an 'Insect Guardian'." He explained to Arranos.
Nova understood those words and after giving a smile to Arranos she fluttered the wings that she had on her head, the wings giving a little sound almost like a hum. She then settled back against her father to munch on her cookie and babbled at the blue boy, as if asking questions of him though it were hard to tell what she wanted to know since she could speak no proper language yet. One could only guess.
In her eyes though she saw him as familiar and colorful, a butterfly it had to be!
"Vin.. what’s an insect?" The blue boy cocked his head and stared up at his guardian then back toward the man in red and black. Looking at the claw that should have been an arm.
"Umm... it's a bug..." The wild elf commented. "That’s really cool Lucien. An Insect guardian, I bet you'll have a swarm.." The elf grinned and nodded, holding back his laugh.
"Vin.. What’s a swarm?" The blue boy prodded once again at his guardian.
"It's a lot of bugs.."
"Why?"
"I don't know. It just is.."
"Ooh ok.." Arranos returned to his coloring, but glancing back up to Nova every once in a while. "What’s her name?"
Lucien watched the way that Vin interacted with Arranos, wondering if that was how it would be with him and Nova when the girl started to talk. That would make things a lot more interesting. Helpful too, then he would know what it was that she wanted since at times it was hard to translate motions of hands and baby talk.
"Actually... We have lots of swarms already, the cool weather has chased a good deal of them off though that doesn't mean she doesn't have several of them waiting for her at home." He said, looking down at the girl. It was almost odd to watch the way the bugs changed from doing normal bug things to being almost reverant when Nova was around.
"Her name is Nova." Lucien told the boy.
Nova gave the blue boy a smile and a wave her her hand to greet him then stuffed the rest of the cookie she held in her hand into her mouth. She chewed on it while watching the boy once again. He was shiny. Lucien didn't seem to notice the way that she was starring or he would try to get her attention on something else. It seemed easy normally, her attention would normally flutter around between everything that was in a room. So rarely did something catch her attention and hold.
Unfortunately for Arranos he seemed to be one of those rare things.
"Nuva.." Arranos muttered, but it just wouldn't come out right. "I like that name, Vin."
"Yeah it's a real nice name." The elf nodded to the blue boy. "Having that swarm must some what help keep things interesting and her attention on certain things." Vin smirked. Wishing it was sometimes the same way with Arranos here. Always with his questioning on everything.
"Vin...?" Arranos looked over at his guardian.
"What Ono?"
"Nothing." Arranos sang and returned to his coloring.
Vin released a sigh. Pushing the boys glass closer to reach. It was filled with milk, something that Ono took a liking too pretty quickly. "Happy?"
"Thank you Vin." Arranos smirked. Nova gave a happy, giggling sound upon hearing her name from the lips of the gem boy. Everything she had been doing was no longer important as she started to squirm, hands held out towards Arranos, "Ah! Ah!" Trying to get his attention to turn from his colorings to her, she wanted him to play! Even if her games were a little limited at the moment.
Lucien looked down at her, watching her as she squirmed about, "Yeah, she does make things a lot more interesting." He said, it was nice to have her about if a little odd since he wasn't the most accomplished father.
He hoped though that he would learn the skills needed since she was the first of his children, his girlfriend was also expecting after all. He meant to do good at it.
He watched the interactions between Vin and Arranos and it made him curious about when Nova started talking, would she be as curious as Lucien had been when he was young? He wondered...
"Yeah they do make things more interesting around here, but it's nice having Arranos around." The elf nodded reaching out and latching on to his coffee cup. Bringing the cardboard up to his lips and took a sip. "MMnn.."
Arranos looked up and watched at the brightly colored Nova made movements and sounds. Tilting his head to the side a slight of a bit, the boy of blue decided to jump up out of his seat and wandered over to Nova. A blue crayon in his hand. "Hi, I'm Arranos, but you can call me Ono." The gem boy nodded and smiled. Even though he knew she couldn't really understand him. Reaching out with his occupied hand. Arranos handed the crayon to the girl and smiled.
"Ahhh!" Was the responce to his words, while she would have responded with his name if it were possible for now she could only give him smiles and waves. She then looked over at the crayon that was held out to her, taking it in her grasp and looked it over. Oooo, so pretty! So brightly colored! She gave a squeal and waved her arms happily and promptly the crayon found its way into her mouth...
"Nova!" Lucien squeaked reaching up to take hold of the crayon and drew it from her mouth, "No, they are for color, like what Arranos was doing." He explained to her. He was glad to see that the color had come out intacted and she hadn't been able to chew on it before he was able to get it back.
Arranos giggled as Nova put the crayon into her mouth. "Why is she trying to eat it?" The little blue boy titled his head and stared up at the man in red.
"Maybe she's hungry?" The elf titled his head and watched the little girl.
"Ahhh, maybe she thought it was something good to eat because of its color." Lucien guessed, he wasn't exactly sure though Vin may be right too, maybe she was hungry for more then just a couple of cookies and some juice?
"Maybe I should get her home and get her some real food to eat, more filling then snacks." Better then her trying to eat random art supplies that was for sure.
Nova gave a sound of complaint as her crayon was taken away, only for a moment before she forgot about it and turned back to Arranos, giving him a smile. He was nice, she liked him she decided. Didn't take much to please a little one though did it? Mostly somone paying her attention and/or giving her gifts. He had done both thusly he was nice!
"Your gonna leave?" Ono turned his attention toward the man in red. Tilting his head to the side and cocking one eyebrow.
"Well it was nice seeing you again and Nova, I hope we do run into each other again. Ono needs a playmate so he doesn't veggie out at home." The elf nodded. Shifting his gaze between the three of them.
Arranos looked back over to Nova and gave her a smile.
"Probably should, get her home to eat something that isn't crayon." He said jokingly. He then looked over to Vin, "I hope so too, at the moment we do a lot of hanging out at home ourselves, maybe we can arrange something though." He knew that he had always liked to hang out with other Fa'e when he was younger so it may be the same with Nova and wanting to hang out with others like her.
Nova looked up at her father a moment, knowing that they were getting ready to go... so she held out her hands to Arranos, making grabby motions. She wanted hugs if they were leaving! Hugs! "Ah! Ah!" She told him, as if he could translate.
"Vin I want one." Arranos latched onto Nova and gave her a hug. Without any intention of letting go. Arranos found the perfect person to keep, now all that was left was for the older mans ok.
"Umm... maybe a dog or something... later.." Vin nodded and grinned sheepishly. "Nova isn't something you can have."
"But Vin... oh... ok.." Arranos released his grip. Shot down in his prime.
"I think Arranos would enjoy seeing Nova again... obviously." The elf nodded.
Nova gave a happy squealing sound and snuggled the boy happily, mindless of how he wanted to keep her. She was just happy with snuggles from him. It also gave her a closer look at the shinies he had. Oooo! She watched him as he stepped back and gave him a wave and a smile.
"We will make sure then that they can see one another again. Huh, Nova?" He said, looking down at her.
She looked up at him, giggled, and nodded. Lucien then set to work bundling her back up so that she would be ready when they stepped back outside into the cold, "We will see you both again soon, it was nice to talk to you." He picked up Nova's cup to tuck it into the pocket of his jacket and picked up the his cup to finish his drink, tossed the paper cups away and headed out. He braced himself for the cold before heading out into it.
He would be so glad when it was warm again...

.. Market Day! Yay!Pales: Blue Kyocho: Black
Markets are usually good for finding shinies. ---------------------------------------------------- It was obviously market day here on the little side strip of Durem street. The affair would have gone unnoticed had it not been for the gaily colored ribbons and the shouting merchants that had gathered here. There were merchants of all kinds here selling this and that but it was mostly a farmer's market offering all sorts of farm grown goodies. There were a few adults milling about with a good smattering of playing children winding about the legs of the taller individuals. The air felt friendly and the scent was that of wonderfully cooked food from the vendors.
All-in-all it was a fair day even the weather was corporative giving a mild day with a bit of an occassional chill wind but otherwise sunny. While not beach weather it was good weather to wander about open stalls and to listen to merchants bellow their lungs out.
Blaed was at a stall looking over bolts of cloth while Metis sat in her stroller with a mildly agitated look on her face as the red-haired man occasionally turned and compared the color of fabrics against her four-armed form. Obviously the man wasn't seeing the results he liked as he would suddenly pull away from the child and ask the poor woman another question about her selection.
Metis took out her aggression upon the strap holding her in her stroller. The strap had many tiny fang bite marks.
Arranos clinged to the leg of Vin as tightly as he could. Two boot covered feet standing on the shoes of an elf’s. It was an easy way to move about the market without having to move your self. Of course Vin was having difficulties with this tie up, but he seemed to manage.
Vin let out a whimper. Trying to capture the attention of his watcher and it seemed to be working. "What Ono?" It was the nickname the elf seemed to bestow upon the blue bow here and there.
Arranos simply shrugged his shoulders and said nothing.
Vin sighed. Picking up a piece of fruit from one of the stalls and seemed to study it long and hard. The elf then handed over the squishy peach over to the boy. "Here you'll like this. It's a peach." The elf grinned and nodded. Reaching into his pocket and pulled out the exact change and handed it to the man. The two then wandered off into the crowd, stumbling here and there. Dragging the blue boy.
Blaed went through a couple more bolts of cloth and finally found a couple he could picture as a dress upon his 'daughter' and began haggling with the woman about price. The man was determined to not be overcharged for these items and was able to walk away with what he felt was a fair price. In truth the woman simply was tired of his nitpicking and wanted him away from her stall. She'd have sold the cloth for very little if she knew that'd get him away a little faster.
The red haired man put the cloth cut and packed for him into a larger bag attached to the stroller and then began to move forward. The crowd graciously made way for the man with a baby stroller. Once they began to move Metis' disposition seemed to improve greatly as she was now calming down and had stopped gnawing on her straps. Now she was watching the crowd as its current swayed about around them.
Metis didn't appreciate her current point of view; however, even though it got her free transport it wasn't the best for observing people. As she watched passing people her golden eyes found an almost familiar blue lad. Upon latching her gaze upon him her tiny wings shivered a bit and her arms flailed toward the elf and boy as her way of pointing at him, "Gnnahh!" she exclaimed to get her 'Father' to stop. Which apparently did the trick as the man had stopped and stepped around the stroller to peer at her with a befuddled expression before looking up and around until he saw what she saw.
"Shh, they might be busy," he tried to reason with the babe even though he didn't think they were he didn't really want the spider-child to be disappointed if it were the case that she wished to interact with them.
The wild elf's ears began to twitch o` the slightly. Hearing the sound of a familiar voice touch his ears. "Huh?" The elf began to spin around as he searched the crowed.
"Aahh.." Arranos seemed to mutter as his grip tightened on his watchers leg. "I'm gonna throw up." The little blue boy announced.
"Oh crap. Sorry Ono!" Vin stopped spinning and dead in sight was the one he recognized. "Oh hey. I remember you! How’s it been?" Vin scratched his head, his face turning slightly red from embarrassment.
Arranos released his grip and stood to the side of his guardian. Keeping a stance of pride and courage. The blue boy tilted his head and watched the little girl with multiple arms sitting in her stroller.
Before the redheaded man knew it he was suddenly addressed by Vin. Metis peered up at Vin and then over at Arranos again. There was a vaguely satisfied expression upon her face as if to say 'I told you so' without so much as speaking it as she is currently incapable of speech.
Blaed chuckled and nodded, "Hey there, friend, good to see you again. I am well, and for yourself?" he glanced at the blue lad next to Vin and smirked, "I see your charge has caught a bit of a growth spurt."
Metis stared at Arranos for a long moment before she raised her topmost right hand and pointed at him uttering a soft yet demanding, "Nrrrrh?" sound from her mouth. She looked curious and yet displeased. Why wasn't she as big as the blue-thing? After all she should grow too. At least that is how the small girl felt. It didn't seem fair that he should change so much since the last time she had seen him.
"Yeah he seems to be doing that a lot lately, but the older the better and the less care I need to give him." Vin chuckled, but was instantly met with an evil glare from charge. "Did I say less... I meant to say more loving care." The wild elf grinned once more, but a little more shaken.
Arranos wandered up to the spider looking creature sitting in the stroller. Watching as she reached her arm up. Arranos reached out with his own, the one that wasn't occupied with the bat plushie. "Look Vin she's small... why?" Arranos shot a quick glance up at his guardian, but quickly returned to gaze at the small figure. Taking in the prismatic colors of her wings. Anything shiny really caught his eye. Much like the gems that hung from his very own skin.
"Because she’s... younger?" Vin tried to answer the best he could.
"Why?" The blue boy responded.
Blaed gave a hearty laugh at the exchange of Arranos and Vin after the commentary was made. Obviously, the red head was amused by what was going on, but too soon the man will learn what it is like to have child that walks and talks back at him.
"He has quite the personality," Blaed complimented the child with a grin as he continued speaking with Vin, "I am sure you'll learn to miss the days when he was younger," he said sagely.
Metis' fingertips met with Arranos' fingertips when he reached out at her. Her small mouth formed into a circular shape and her voice softly uttered, "Oooh," as if amazed that the blue boy was real. She had seemingly forgotten her displeasure at being smallish when compared to the boy.
The red head watch the further interaction and intervened on Vin's behalf, "Because that is how things work in the world. It is the fun of being older; you grow first so that you can watch after those younger and smaller than yourself," Blaed paused a moment before adding, "You do not have to watch after the younger or smaller people of course."
His lips formed into a roguish grin, "Isn't it fun being older? You get to do more I am sure," he was obviously trying to get the boy to think of other things rather than asking more questions.
"I guess it is more fun, but when your younger your more carefree as if there is no worries in the world." The elf tapped at his lower lip. "One thing though I will miss as he gets older is the conversations, but I won't miss the having to do everything for him." Vin laughed and grinned all the while, but in truth he didn't really do to much for Arranos as the blue boy was pretty independent.
Arranos watched in amazement. This little girl was one strange creature and some one he believed deserved to be kept with a close eye on. Something about her just seemed to send slight chills up his spine. Could it be her multiple arms or the gold in her eyes.
Blaed laughed and gave a nod, "Indeed, indeed. It is nice as well when they can talk and tell you what is wrong instead of having to constantly guess at it and upset them more." He glanced down at the four armed child in the stroller with a small sigh, "She won't sleep in her crib for some reason. Every time I try to set her down she screams."
Metis seemed to be ignoring the adults talking and paid attention to Arranos. She didn't sense or know what the blue boy was thinking. She just found him to be ... pretty to look at. He was like a large blue sparkly thing and thus she found him to be quite worthy of her current attentions. Metis leaned forward just a touch her wings giving a slight twitch, "Naaiee balubah?" it was nonsense speak. She wanted so badly to speak like everyone around her was.
"Hmm really. I don't know maybe it could be the bars on the crib?" The elf shrugged. Comparing a crib to a prison could be a possible situation. "That or she likes your company more than being alone?" The elf nodded and smiled. "If that should be the problem get used to it. When kids tend to hit the teenage they seem to drift from there care takers." Vin shrugged.
"Whets her name?" The blue boy whispered. Walking closer to the four armed girl, unsure and unknown if he already had asked that question. "Why does she have four arms? I only have two... can I have more arms Vin?"
The elf slapped his forehead. "No... you can't have four arms, but maybe for Halloween next year." Vin nodded.
Blaed shifted his shoulders a bit and pondered what Vin had said and then nodded, "I guess so, I mean I can get her to sleep alone for a bit until she notices I am not holding her or something." He laughed a bit, "Doesn't leave much room to get various small tasks done before I am ready to lie down I usually end up napping with her."
The red haired man glanced over to Arranos and chuckled, "Her name is Metis," he replied introducing his 'daughter' to the boy as the four-armed girl obviously couldn't talk, "I do not know why she has four arms."
"I am almost afraid of mine growing up to be a teenager." Blaed sighed wistfully as he glanced down at his daughter.
Metis watched Arranos intently. What to do with the boy? She couldn't quite figure that out. The four armed girl was obviously impressed that the boy could talk and walk as well. This will set the path for her goals.
"Vin.. Vin.. she reminds me of that thing I saw in the backyard." The blue boy jumped up and bounded back and forth. Being completely bland with his words.
"Umm... that’s nice... there are lots of things in the backyard." The elf shook his head and looked back up towards Blaed. "Well maybe you should take advantage of it now while she wants to be with you." The elf nodded. Thinking how cramped it could be sleeping with Ono.
"Hey... I not done talking. It's a small black thing... many arms. It was coool." The gem boy nodded and grinned.
"That’s... good.." The elf said rolling his eyes.
Arranos glared up at his guardian and gave him a quick "Pshh." Then returned his attention to the four armed child. "Hi Metis, I'm Ono" The blue boy stuck out his hand, palm side up. In front of Metis.
Blaed watched as Arranos exchanged back and forth and merely chuckled with amusement as Vin just put an end to it by turning back to comment to him, "Well, I guess it is very sweet in a way." He agreed with a small nod, "Your little one seems to be somewhat excitable when he wants to tell you something I have noticed," Blaed grins a bit, "Trying to tell you about a spider he saw. He isn't too far off either as where Metis is concerned." Blaed rubbed the side of his jaw thoughtfully. "He's a very bright little boy indeed."
Metis watched Arranos curiously tilting her head to one side as he introduced himself to her. The small girl had only the faintest inklings of what names and titles meant and how people introduced themselves to each other. Yet she didn't quite grasp the fact that Arranos introduced himself to her. It was usually her daddy introducing themselves to others as they usually talked only to him. Her golden eyes blinked as she reached up a hand to grasp one of his digits on his hand and she simply smiled as she mocked the sound of his name, "Ohhh-nooohh?"
"Vin what does bright mean?" Arranos turned his head and gave his guardian the puppy dog eye treatment.
"Well Ono... you know that light bulb in the house that shines a lot? Well that's because it's bright." Vin nodded his head with a small grin across his face. For some odd reason He knew what Ono was about to say next. Here comes the whining.
Arranos' blue eyes grew in size from shock. "But... but Vin I don't wanna be a light bulb!"
Vin began to chuckled, but was quickly silenced when Arranos quickly punched his guardian in the knee.
"AAhh... I'm sorry Ono." Sighing. Vin rubbed at his sore knee.
Arranos smirked and returned to playing with Metis. "Vin! VIN!! She said my name!!" Ono waved his arms in the air. Catching the rays of sunshine through the gems that lined his arms.
"That's awesome Ono." Vin nodded then looked at Blaed. "Yeah he does seem to be a bright boy, but Metis seems to be up there. I'm surprised that she could mimic Ono's name." The elf nodded.
Blaed laughed at Arranos' whining and just shook his head. "Filling that boy's head with silly ideas, friend." He teased Vin lightly as he crossed his arms over his chest watching as his daughter mimicked the blue boy's name. He couldn't help but feel just a little proud of that.
"Ahh, well," he began modestly adding a small shrug, "It isn't too hard to mimic for her I guess. She is fairly vocal and such like she fears that I'll forget she's around when she goes quiet." Blaed shrugged and smiled happily, "I don't mind, though. It is a wonderful to hear another voice at home other than my own or my sister's."
Metis tilted her head at the excitable boy's action. Apparently she had done something of worth to the boy. She quietly smiled one of her tiny fangs showing. Of course she had done something wonderful; after all, she was a wonderful being
"Never... I never fill this boy with silly ideas!" Vin let loose a grin all the while he rubbed at the sore top of his knee. "Why did you hit my boy? Your gonna pay for it once we get home." Vin smiled Patting Ono on the top of his colored head.
Returning his focus to Blaed. "I guess that’s always a good thing. At least you know you wont lose her, right?"
"Vin... why would any one lose her?"
"Ono... shhh..."
"Fine!" Arranos returned to playing with Metis. Never more worrying about his guardian. Since this spider like girl deserved his attention more. Since well she was closer to his age… in a way and was more entertaining.
Blaed just laughed watching the interaction of father and son for a few moments and then he nodded at the question put to him by Vin, "At least not yet. Just wait until she grows into a young woman and goes off with a young man." He chuckled slightly with a small shrug, "Such is the way of things."
The spider-girl tilted her head to one side for a moment before starting to glance around her perch for a moment before finding an infant-safe lolli (still in its wrapper no less) and offered it to Ono. She had no interest in sweets and sweet smelling things, but maybe the gemmed boy enjoyed them! At least then the candy wouldn't go to waste.
The red haired man looked momentarily thoughtful before speaking again, "We're not keeping you both from important errands are we?"
Ono looked at the lolli offered to him. What was it... such a weird looking contraption. Taking it with a smile on his face. The pale blue boy brought it closer to his eyes for a better inspection. "Vin what is this?"
Vin squinted his eyes to take a better look. "It's a sucker."
"Oh.." Ono then returned his gaze to the little girl and smiled. "Thank you Metis." Remembering that he would have to return the generosity.
"Errands? Hmm... yeah we do need to finish up our shopping and get back home for dinner."
Just then Ono's stomach let out a long and an upsetting growl.
"And Ono seems to agree with me." The elf slightly laughed, "It was good seeing you guys again. Lets make sure it's not much longer till we meet again." Vin nodded.

... Gems
"VIN!" Arranos screamed at the top of his lungs. Even though it wasn't needed, since his guardian was just in the next room doing the little things around there small boring house.
"What Ono? I'm busy, since you won't get off your butt and help!" Vin shot a silent glare at his blue colored charge. Ever since that little blue boy grew up. Never has he lent his help in taking care of this place. The elf shook his head back and forth.
"Sorry..."
"It's fine, what did you need?"
"What are these called?" Ono pointed at one of the many gems that lined his arms, but this one was red and was pretty sharp.
"That’s what we call a gem." Vin nodded with a smile on his face.
"Oh..." Just then Ono began to pick at it, trying his hardest to remove this so called "gem".
"Don't pick at it!" The elf snapped, "The last thing you want is to cause your self some kind of pain. Since I’ll have to hear about it for the rest of the day!" Vin nodded and left Ono sitting on the couch to return to his busy work. Grumbling something as he walked away.
"Oh ok.." Ono smiled. Sighing a bit as well. Wanting to remove one of these gems for closer investigation. “I guess I’ll help you out, Vin.” The blue boy jumped out of his seat and wandered off to his guardian.

... Memory of meeting Oak
Vin ran amok around his small home. Trying to get the place to look as good as he could before his two visitors came over. It was always intimidating for Vin when Kyo ever came over. He didn't know the reason that caused the sudden feeling to need to make everything appear better than what they really are. Since Vin decided to keep to his roots with a simple living, and... Kyo was more of the city folk type. As well as Kyo mentioned something about a guest coming with him.
Well the time came, a loud knock rang out through the wooden home. "ONO! There here, get over here now!!" The wild elf cried out. Which was soon met with the loud thumping of his charge Ono.
"I'm here.. I’m here!" The gemmed boy heaved and huffed as anxiety began to build up. Never before has he met this... Kyo and some guest.
Vin opened the door and a smile grew on his face.
"Kyo... and who's this?" The tattooed covered elf nodded to the small boy off wood.
"This is Oak." Kyo grinned. Pulling the boy out from behind his leg. "Oak this is Vin and Arranos."

Stationary ..................
Gaia. Calm and serene for brief moments during the day and night, but very rarely for long. Outside a rather quaint looking store boasting simple gold leafing on the frosted glass of the front door that read 'The Stationary Shop', a rather odd air lingered.
This place was oddly empty, but perhaps not so...it wasn't exactly the most active shop, being a store selling blank papers, but that was fine with the proprietors...neither of which were around. Also, the better part of the store was blocked off; the whole place might have been closed down save that Veloren was there, tidying up -- he figured, if he was going to be there, why not try to sell some paper?
The short, pink-haired lycanthropic creature minded the store; sweeping the front steps and cracking his gum while keeping an eye on a pretty little lavender-haired child with wings and his strange gem-necklace.
There weren't enough hours in the day, Raven decided for about the twentieth time that week, leaning against the wall. She was supposed to (at some point) meet with her sisters to discuss... well, life, work, and the problems arising from both-- and it wasn't that she was avoiding them, just that... nothing seemed to be working. They were never free at the same time.
These thoughts only came up because she'd just missed another meeting with them-- this time due to Arch being busy with Erimentha, rather than Raven's fault, for once. It put Raven in a rather foul mood, truth be told, but... ah well. She wouldn't think on it too much, wouldn't brood overly much. Or at least, she'd try not to do so.
A stationary shop! She hadn't seen one of those in a while. Something about the crisp smell of paper usually calmed her (thus the reason she had a soft spot for bookshops and the like), so she decided, impulsively, to stop and look about in--
That child. On the steps. It had a necklace. Like hers.
A hand moving to touch the pendant subconsciously, Raven glanced about before moving closer. Now she needed to investigate. She wanted to find out more about this. "Ah... hello there!" she called to the boy sweeping the steps, hoping this would be a wise decision.
Veloren hummed softly as he swept the front steps; he was worried for his family, but...he knew that things on Gaia always worked out some way or another. And honestly, Syrie was strong, he would be fine. At least, that was what the short, pink-haired lykin hoped.
When a woman called out to him, he lifted his siamese colored head and smiled broadly. "Oh, hello there! Can I help you?" The lykin was a friendly sort, and usually it was very difficult to tell his gender - he tended to wear girl's clothes; today he was in jeans and a fitted shirt that showed off his lack of breasts.
Defintely male. As was the child playing with his gem quietly. Nothing doing. Ren blinked a bit at the woman, she had moved her hand to cover a gem - was she like his father? Did she have one of those strange Iridae necklaces?
He would like to find out! It might be best to make 'friends' with more of the Iridae people...at the very least, he was going to be his usual, nice self!
As rare as it was for Raven to be without one of her many (many) kids, today because of her prior appointment, she'd left Hera and Nasir in charge of the house, knowing that between their combined intensity, they'd be able to at least keep everyone safely indoors. It was... odd, truth be told, but to have the breather did her some good.
"Ah... perhaps so?" Raven smiled, moving closer as she stroked a stray lock of dark hair behind her ear, pushing up her glasses in the same movement. "Is that child yours?" she motioned to the little purple boy with the necklace. Strange how every time she stepped out of her house she seemed to either run into someone with a child like one of her own or gain another. Ah well, no matter. Gaia was a place which fast did that to you.
The sun was shining and just a few clouds had speckled the sky. Who could ask for anything better than this. It had been a few long... some painful months since Arranos had grown.
Vin had decided to drag his charge along with him to the stationary store so they could get some supplies for Onos schooling. It was probably a good idea to start a little early. Since Arranos was a boy made of gems. It was probably a good idea to start teaching him about what they where made of and how to identify them.
"Ono, we are almost there. You excited?" The elf, who was cluttered in tattoos, spoke to the toddler that had been resting against his back. A while back, Vin finally broke down and gave the boy a piggy back ride.
"Yeah I am." The boy covered in gems mumbled lightly. The thought of having to be taught didn't send any thrill and excitement his way, like it was a necessary evil.
The sight of the stationary shop Vin had heard about came into view. The gold design came into view and caught the elf's eyes attention fairly quickly.
Although Arranos was focused on something else. There was a boy... dressed in purple, if that wasn't enough to catch his eye, then it must have been the gem he was holding. Reaching down he placed his own blue hand around his prismatic gem.
"Ok, it's time to get down. I'm not carrying you into the store, you can do that yourself." The elf whispered. Setting down Arranos gently on the cement and pulled at the boys left hand and lead the blue and gem covered boy towards the shop.
After the bespeckled woman asked whether Rukashel was his or not, the slight Lykin chuckled. "No miss, Ruka is my brother - adopted, of course. My father is out so I'm tending shop for a little bit while I babysit."
He smiled more being the friendly sort. "Do you have one of those strange necklaces that turn into children too?" Most didn't ask about Ruka beyond to admire the boy's beauty unless they actually knew about the Iridae.
There were voices - not too close, but coming closer. Veloren's ears swivelled to pick up a little smattering of whom and what was being said by the new people coming to the Stationary Store. He turned his torso a bit so that he could wave to the newcomer and his strangely glittering child.
How interesting! The little one had a gem-necklace as well -- coincidences happened so often on Gaia! They were practically commonplace, weren't they?
"Welcome to the Stationary Store, please come in - feel free to look around." Because really, he was supposed to be tending the shop!
Ruka was watching the woman with the necklace and then, when Arranos and Vin had arrived, the bejeweled child held his attention.
"Indeed, I think I do," Raven laughed quietly, touching it again as she glanced at the bejeweled boy coming nearer. "Not my first experience with an object that's said to turn into a child, though it feels like it'll be one of my last."
But she'd come here for a purpose, hadn't she? To calm down? ...but this was helping her focus on something less upsetting. "I wonder sometimes how common these lost souls are," Raven murmured, more to herself than to any of the individuals about.
"VIN!" The jeweled boy shouted, but not loud enough for the whole neighborhood could hear him. "Look it's two more of those pendants. Like mine!"
The elf pierced his Elvin eyes at the objects held by the people standing amongst the steps. "Ono, they could be just regular pendants found at some department store around here... but that boy is surely an Iridae." Vin nodded, "There's no doubt about it."
Now it was getting out of hand. How many more of these pendants where going to fall and be found by the people of Gaia. What was going on around here...?
VIN began to worry about all these gems and children that had been arriving, but he wouldn't have met Arranos if that hadn't happened.
"Good afternoon and thank you." Vin stepped closer to the shop and headed up the stairs, "Do you mind if Ono stays out here with you guys while I just pick up a few things?"
Ruka looked up at the woman with the pendant, and then towards the gem-encrusted toddler speaking so loudly and coming towards them. Neither seemed the least bit strange to the lavendar-winged Iridae; he smiled a sleepy, dreamy smile and fluffed his wings a bit at them in greeting.
"There's really no telling, I suppose. I just hope no one gets hurt because of them." A slightly pained but understanding look came to the Lykin's face - his parent had suffered for the Iridae necklace; it was no wonder his thoughts were troubled as he realized there were quite a few more of Rukashel's 'kind' lurking about. "Gaia is a wonderous place, but full of curious and potentially dangerous objects - at least, that's what Syrie says."
Veloren smiled at Vin's question and shook his head as he leaned a little more on the broom he'd been weidling against dust and dirt. "Not at all, I'm sure Ruka would love to meet him...er..." The Lykin looked a little sheepish - he couldn't tell the child's gender, but he knew that 'Ono' was an Iridae child, just like his younger sibling. "Just let me know when you're ready to check out - thank you~"
Syrie would have wanted the child to get to know his own kind.
...well... that was an interesting newcomer, that elf-- waitasecond. Didn't she know him from some... the lab, perhaps? That... he might be the same person. Raven couldn't tell, her mind remembering only the interaction, not the figure.
...ah well. The elf was going inside, and Raven was outside with this stranger who'd mentioned... "'Hurt'?" she repeated to Veloren after a moment of silence. "They hurt people?" Just what she needed. Really. Raven had enough people getting hurt... especially in her ever-growing family. "Curious and potentially dangerous though... that sounds about right..." ...great. More things to think about.
But these children-- they were such gorgeous beings, one jeweled, the other all in vibrant hues of purple. How could Raven think anything bad of them?
Vin slowly came to a stop upon hearing the words of pain and hurting. Looking down toward the ground sheepishly. "Sometimes it does hurt, but it doesn't all the time. It's hard to explain how it feels." The elf smiled, his back towards the group, "But in the long run... it's worth it." Vin nodded as he stepped into the shop. "Thank, I'm sure he'll be a good boy while I’m inside."
Ono watched as his guardian walked away, unable to even fathom what they had been talking about. Pain... and hurting, the boy didn't even begin to understand what these words meant. Was it like when you fell down and scrapped your knee?
"Whets the boy name?" Ono asked, staring up at the one wielding the powerful broom of might.
"Well, yes. He's right, it's not that it's painful for everyone - I just know that my father had a hard time because of a medical condition." Veloren smiled brightly. "As for Ruka himself? He's a darling. I've never met a sweeter child." The lykin didn't want to scare the woman with the gem hanging from her neck -- that wasn't really his intent...it was just that there were dangers inherent with anything that siphoned from your life-force, and he knew it.
When the small bejeweled child asked him what Ruka's name was, he started to open his mouth but was interrupted with the child in question chirruped out first, "His name is Ru--"
"Ruka!" The boy that looked suspiciously like a girl fluttered his wings and put his hands on the ground to push up. He could stand already, but he could not walk - and his standing required that he hold onto the gem-necklace and keep his large wings out for balance.
Yes, he was a bit advanced for his age-type; the Medium herself had commented that he was most definitely not normal. Too strong even as a gem.
"I see," Raven considered after a long moment. "I'm glad to hear that you're such a good boy, Ruka," the girl smiled. It gave her hope-- in truth, Raven had enough trouble with her children that she'd already seen emerge. Between haunted kids, dna-engineered kids... weird kids... she had her hands full most of the time, but that was all right. She kind of looked forward to seeing another kid in her house. After all, there weren't any more babies
Ono had a look of surprise on his face. Ruka was his name... that’s a name that would need to be remembered. A smile then grew on the bejeweled Childs face.
"It's nice to meet you Ruka, my name is Arranos," Ono began to think... maybe that name might be a bit too difficult for the boy to say, "Well you can just call me Ono for short."
The Lykin chuckled a little and shook his head; Rukashel certainly knew how to make an impression, now didn't he? "Oh, he's a dream - really..." The unintended pun tickled the candy-pink haired youth; he smiled brightly and shifted his weight from one slim hip to the other, half leaning on his broom while watching the children and listening to Raven. He had no worries that the man called 'Vin' would steal anything from the shop -- besides, Phaid was there (and believe you me, having a large panther-esque cat with human level intelligence watching the shop kept it pretty darned safe).
Ruka lifted his head to look over at Raven and gave her a beatific smile; silver-colored eyes squinching happily. He was a good boy, which was why he smiled at the woman with the necklace before returning his attention to the bejeweled child. "'Ranos?" But the word was clumsy and he didn't like saying it. Much better was the name that Ono offered him after that. "Ono!" Lavender wings fluttered and fluffed; he was pleased. "'Ren." Rukashel pointed up at the Siamese-colored Lykin with the pink hair.
"Pretty Ono." Meaning, of course, the boy's gems. He wavered and reached out for Arranos' arm to steady himself; standing was hard - not as hard as walking was, but he wasn't always stable on his feet despite his very light weight.
...this brought an ache to Raven's chest. She wanted a young child in her life again. Granted, there were still a few of her kids who were still young, but... perhaps it was her need for something new, or the feeling within herself that there was something new coming... but she felt like she was missing out. It always felt like this when she was around others who had someone she didn't have.
After all... she'd lost one child before, hadn't she? It had haunted her for months-- still haunted her in many ways. Maybe this necklace too... maybe she wasn't worthy of bringing another child into this crazy, chaotic world.
Perhaps she was musing too much. Perhaps she shouldn't pay attention to that sort of thing, perhaps she should pay attention to what was before her. "Careful now, Ruka," Raven smiled slightly, watching the kids.
Vin was about finished when he gathered the last of the few things he needed. The elf was planning out some activities to help out Arranos. Then Vin wandered his way on over towards the counter with the panther like cat, but the elf could tell by just looking into it's eyes. "I guess I just leave the cash with you. There’s a bit more than what I owe ya, but that’s fine." The elf left the cash on the counter and headed out off the shop and looked directly at his charge then towards Ruka. "looks like you made a new friend." Vin smirked.
"Yeah his name is Ruka" Arranos smiled back.
"Awesome. Well I got the things we need and we need to start heading back before it gets dark. We got quite a walk ahead of us." Vin smiled with a bit of a frown.
"Oh... ok... Vin." Arranos looked at the small boy and smiled. "I gotta go Ruka. I'll see you again some time." Arranos looked up from Ruka and to Vin.
"Hey thanks for watching over Ono. I appreciate it." Vin smiled and nodded to Veloren.

... Book of Gems
