The adolescent blinked, as much surprised by the lioness' sudden departure as he was by her arrival."Umm...okay." I guess.
He stood for several moments, tail flicking behind him, pale blue eyes watching the lioness until she disappeared over the ridge of the horizon. When she was gone, he turned himself, walked off toward some quiet place out of the dust, someplace he wouldn't be disturbed. He had a lot think about, a lot of questions to find his own answers to.
