Quote: "Loiosh'll help too." And with that, Loiosh took off, doing high, slow circles around the area. "If he sees anything, he'll tell me." A thought struck Vlad, almost hard enough to make him rub the back of his head. "Hey, do you have the same psionic link with Arya that I've got with Loiosh? Can you try it that way? If you can get contact with her, I think I can get a general area to look, if she can't tell you herself." For a witch and an assassin, he was awfully slow, he should have thought of that before. "I have tried, but I shall again." Claire put her hands to her temples and sent out a powerful mind-thought. (what in brackets are translations) Arya svit-kona! Du asta gwe nustarm.{Arya svit-kona! (is highest Elven place of respect for Dragons of the female breed) Speak to me darling!} Claire finished seending the message and was blown away by the closeness of Arya's returning voice in her head. Claire, nustarm gret y ramm brennt keine lustre poiv!{Claire, darling where are you I have been trying to contact you for ages!] Something must be blocking her mind-speak... Claire thought. Arya, gret keine brennt se?{Arya, where are you now?} A few minutes passed by. And then an hour. And then a very loud roar could be heard. the hatchling in Claire's bag started tearing the bag and was soon out, flying off towards the sound. "Arya!" Claire shouted, running through the trees so fast she was a blur. {Arya} ^^^Two minutes later, Claire could be seen riding atop the back of a giant majestic looking gray dragon. {hatchling} The hatchling was sitting on the dragon's head and was nuzzling the adult's ear. Claire jumped down and motioned for Vlad to come over, she had already sent a thought speak to Loiosh. suddenly, claire's happy face became contorted, she looked down at her chest and placed a hand over her heart and leaned heavily against Arya, sweat beading down her face. She stumbled into Vlad and retched beside them. she collapsed putting her full weight against Vlad and passing out. The hatchling was going insane, crying out painfully, smoke coming out it's mouth. Arya's scaley form was shaking. "Take a dagger and slit her wrists, both of them, deeply. Quickly Fenarian, before she dies!" Arya thought-spoke to Vlad, her forked-tongue pointing to a small dagger in a ankle strap on Claire's leg.

KineoTorgunamaru "Take a dagger and slit her wrists, both of them, deeply. Quickly Fenarian, before she dies!" Arya thought-spoke to Vlad, her forked-tongue pointing to a small dagger in a ankle strap on Claire's leg. Vlad was a little surprised by Claire's sudden collapse, but luckily, his training as an assassin to act quickly in situations like this paid off. Boss! Stop staring! get to work.Right. He already had a dagger in hand, it was almost a reflex with him. He did as he was told, slitting both wrists. How would this save her life he wondered, as he tore strips of cloth off his own cloak to bandage the giant hole in the girl's chest. It'd be short, but it wasn't cold here anyhow. Loiosh, circle and see if you can spot what did this.Once again, the jhereg took off, flying in the direction Claire and Arya had appeared from:

as soon as Vlad slit her wrists herr body began mending itself. The slitting had released the magic that was hidden in her wrists. she began breathing again, slowly. Arya licked Claire's face gently.
*You have done well Vlad. I am eternally in your debt. you have saved each of our lives.* Arya sat her hatchling beside Claire and took off into the sky.
*I shall help Loiosh.*
The baby dragon lay's it's head on claire's shoulder.
"gurtan?" the dragon hatchling asks Vlad, not moving it's head from claire's shoulder and staring up at Vlad with her golden brown eyes.

"Well, I'll stay here then." said Vlad in a resigned tone as the dragon took off. He informed Loiosh that he'd have help in the search. Then, he surveyed the unconcious girl. If either of her companions woke now it wouldn't look good. He was standing there drenched in her blood, carrying a dagger with which he'd slit her wrists. "Umm, I think she'll be fine," he answered, hoping that it was an appropriate response to 'gurtan'. He realized that the girl must be in possesion of some kind of healing magic, because her wounds seemed to be on the mend. Damn. He'd cut up a perfectly good cloak for nothing. He took it off and using one of Morrollan's sorcery sticks, he cleaned the blood of of it and himself. He knew this might be a stupid way to spend the little bit of sorcery avalable to him here, but he was too pleased with the fact that it worked to be too pessimistic. He figured that this was his test run, to make sure the things worked, before he absolutely needed them. He could have used another charge to put his cloak back together, but decided against it. Surely, that was tempting fate too much. He rolled the thing up and began to arrange the girl more comfortably, using it as a pillow. He grabbed a blanket from his pack and covered her after he'd gotten the blood off of her too. Loiosh, anything yet?
No, boss. Not yet.He looked at the little hatchling. It was so tiny, would it really get so big someday? He recalled the newborn Loiosh. "So, What do you think of this whole mess?" he asked it to distract himself.

"Confusings..." the hatcling said, stuttering like mad. "I thinks you are nice, yes?" the hatchling asked Vlad, apparently wondering if she was saying the right words. Her english was clearly amateur at best, and she couldn't exactly tell if she was even speaking english, but she was trying. Her mother was in her head telling her that she was doing a great job and that she(Arya) would be back with Loiosh soon.

Vlad did a doubletake when the hatchling spoke. He'd never heard a dragon talk out loud like that. Where he came from, they mostly communicated psionically, when they didn't feel like eating you. Sure he'd heard them speaking that other language, but since he didn't understand it, he could pretend that it was just noise.
He knelt beside the hatchling and gave it a good scratch under the chin. "You know you're not so bad yourself. Definately cuter than Loiosh."
You know I read you thoughts. Right, boss?
I know, and you're not a baby anymore.
Heh. Guess not. Anyway, we'll be back soon.
Find something?
Patience is a whatchamacallit, boss
Shut up, Loiosh

The hatchling purred when Vlad scrathed under her chin, her hind leg moving up and down rapidly like a dog's would if you found it's favourite spot. all of a sudden Claire sat up, eyes wide, knife at the ready.
"Astu katare!" She shouted backing away from everyone, and then composing herself as she realised where she was, and that she was in good company.
"Hatchling, where has Ayra gone?"
"Up in sky with Loiosh." the hatchling replied. Claire nodded and sheathed her knife, lying back down on the makeshift bed that she had been lying on.
"Vlad, what happened? All I know is that I was weakened by something, probably the sudden contact with a dragon but...there was something else that i can't quite put my finger on..." Claire tapped her chin in thought. "I must meditate on these thoughts. If you need me, speak to the hatchling."
Claire said crossing her legs "Indian-style" and slowing her breathing very deeply. she took one last deep breath and hen she was levitating, slightly, in the air. Her hair blew around her every once in a while, the dragon fluttered up onto her lap and stared at Vlad while every once in a while licking her eyes.

Why was she asking him what happened? She probably knew more than he did, since it happened to her. All he knew was that she'd gone to find the dragon and had come back like that. However, before he could tell her that, she directed him not to speak. Heh. It seemed the Dragaerans here were just as confusing as the ones he'd known back home. He remembered that Noish-pa and some of the other Easterners called them Elves. That's probably the term he should use here, since of course here there was no Dragaeran Empire. And with that thought, he felt Loiosh take up his spot once again on his shoulder. He favored him him a thorough chin scratch.
What's up, chum
Let the dragon do the talking, boss. I'm just a lowly jhereg.
heh. I guess you're right.
"Okay, Ayra, what did you learn?" Vlad was more than a little nervous to adress a dragon, but he hid it with his usual sarcastic manner.

The dragon hatcling, obviously irritated by Vlad's sarcasm, growled at Vlad but was soon silenced by Arya. Arya shook her head at the little one and began, "I learned that much has happened in the days that we have been missing from our home in Elles. The object that wounded Claire? It was a poison arrow from her step-brother, Jakol. He has been searching for her and now he's found us. Long story short, our absence from the Council has caused an uproar and her step-brother blames Claire." Arya shook her head in sadness. "So much can happen in so little time...i'm sure you can both understand?" Arya said, more of a statement then a question though. "I have to ask you to excuse me though, I need to hunt for me and mine." Arya said nudging her hatchling lightly. "Hur Ja Linea O." Arya said to her child, which meant... Your name is Linea. "Shall I hunt for you and yours as well or have you been replenished already?" Arya asked, shakily getting to her claws. She staggered, then righted herself and glanced at Claire before returning her gaze to Vlad and Loiosh, awaiting their answers. (Dragons share the ailments of their Riders. Arya was less affected by the poison because of her size and her magical capabilities. Claire wouldn't have been so badly injured and have had to have called upon her reserve magic [which was released when vlad slit her wrists] but she had been using a lot of magic lately.)<<<

"My good Lady Dragon, I would be most honored to have you hunt for us, but only if it won't trouble you too much. I'm new to this place, and I'm unsure of what is safe and unsafe to eat. I'll send Loiosh with you, so that we can learn."
Gee...thanks, Boss. I see you're polite to everyone but me.
Someone has to go with her, and I don't fly. If you had opposable thumbs, you've thought of that.
Shut up, Boss
"I'll keep an eye on the girl and your young while you're gone. If anything happens, I'll tell Loiosh and he can tell you." It was true that Vlad was sending Loiosh to learn what was edible here, and so Ayra wouldn't have to worry too much about what was happening here, but also, He was unsure about how well she was. If anything happened to her while she was hunting, he'd use Loiosh to find her.

Arya nodded and walked off between the trees to a clearing where she could take off into the air. Her wingspan was so immense that if she had tried to take off back there she would have killed someone, or injured herself.
"Loiosh-drammur," meaning a gender-neutral title of high respect. "I hope that you will benifit from this flight for I will not slow down or catch your ofwn food for you. I will show you first what is safe for you and yours to eat and you may then hunt yourself but after that you are on your own, am I clear?" Arya asked, not even waiting for a response. She extended her great stone colored wings and with one powerful downward swing she took off 250 feet into the air! She waited for Loiosh to climb to her height and then soared off, slowly for Loiosh's benifit, and zoomed off at terrific speed to a small river where deer like creature were eating. they were strange, the color of their pelt was an offish purple color, but Arya knew they were safe from the days she had spent recovering from her plight the night that she had lost contact with Claire. she swooped down and in one giant crunch lapped up three of them in her mouth sending the rest scattering into the trees. Flying back into the air she faltered a moment in the air falling down about 100 feet to graze the tops of the trees but her head jerked up and she was back to the skies again.
"Quickly Loiosh-drammur, they are already heading back to drink." Arya said riding some thermals and pointing down to the river. Sure enough about 12 of the strage creatures had already returned to the river and were darting their heads around searching for their predators.

Sure enough about 12 of the strage creatures had already returned to the river and were darting their heads around searching for their predators. Since Vlad had nothing particularly interesting to do, seeing as how the girl was in some deep form of meditation, He too allowed his mind to go. He wandered into that strange frame of mind where he heard, saw and felt everything Loiosh did as though it were happening to him. Loiosh was slightly annoyed at the dragon acting superior, but he was used to being underestimated. On her first swoop the dragon managed three of the strange creatures, that somehow resembled purple kethna. He'd be able to handle one, and that'd be plenty to feed both him and Vlad for a few days. ((assuming they're similar in size to a deer.)) He swooped using his better speed to score a fatal bite on the thing's neck. He was glad to see his poison was still quite effective here, as in a few seconds the creature dropped. It wasn't dead, merely stunned. Jhereg poison worked better on smaller animals, but it could still be fatal to humans and it'd make an elf very ill for a few days at least. He sank his sharp talons into the hide of it,dragging it clumsily skyward. His wings were flapping like mad as he searched for a strong thermal. Ah. There. He took it, mind speaking back to the dragon. ' I have to take this back right away, but I won't be long.' And he wasn't, the carcass was soon deposited at Vlad's feet. Vlad enjoyed looking at himself from Loiosh's perspective. Then the reptile took off once more, streaking like a crossbow bolt towards where the dragon was. ' Anything else I should know?'

Arya shrugged with the deer in her mouth, the legs swaying as she did. She flew to the grounds where she had taken off and together her and Loiosh went back to the camp. claire was awake when arya and Loiosh returned.
"arya, tu greta hen lain surda eta fricai la sun." Claire said immediatley. ( Arya we must head back to the city quickly.)
"gurna lise?" ( So soon?)Arya replied as Linea flew into the sack as Claire's side that she was holding open and claire agilely jumped onto Arya's back. Puling out a sheaf of paper claire wrote in Universi which was the language that was taught in every calssroom in her country and she prayed to the gods that her companions Briar and Tris would be able to understand it. It read:
Dearest Briar and Tris,
I was needed back to the northeast at my home. I'm sorry that I had to leave so abruptly with out you but Arya returned to me and we had to return for fear of my Brother overthrowing my mother in her weak state. thank you for everything you have done for me. show this letter to any of the guards outside my lands and they will bring you to the castle where my resources are better and I can help you on your quest.
Love, Claire and Arya
folding it Claire had Linea fly it over to Briar where the dragon used it's claws to slip it gently between the folds of Briar's robes.
"Vlad, Loiosh I am sorry but I must leave to my kingdom before my brother again attempts to assassinate me and overthrow my mother. You may accompany me there if you wish or you may stay here with Briar and Tris. I'm dreadfully sorry but I must go." Claire said as Arya reared back and shoot off through the forest running jumping up into the sky and soaring off to the northeast at frightening speed, birds flying away from Arya as she disturbed their V formation on her way. A glint of silver was hiding by some leaves and the wind uncovered a silver sphere. It was engraved with intricate designs and was painted in the lines a blood red. if you tapped it, it would resound, as if hollow but if you tried to break it open it wouldn't even leave a scratch. How it was made was unimportant, but the fact that Arya had left it behind was what was. It was a comunicater. If you touched it with your bare hands you would have an immediate mind contact with her, no matter where she was. It was a very special and fragile thing, but she had left it for Vlad and Loiosh to find and to give them special directions. she knew that the guards at Clari'es home would just lead Vlad and Loiosh off and slaughter them, or at least try to, so she left the sphere behind that way she could lead them to Claire's twin sister. Yes, claire's twin. Not even Claire knew about her. Her name was Selene. she was a Seer, like Claire. But she was much more powerful at Seeing than claire. She could safely See the path that would take Loiosh and Vlad to the castle and that's why Arya left the sphere behind. In the hopes that meeting Claire's twin would help vlad and Loiosh in their quest, and in the hopes that Loiosh would return. Secretly she had a crush on the strange animal but she wasn't allowed to do anything about it because of her place at the court of Claire's kingdom. So she left the tiny sphere, which would be no bigger than Vlad's head, and no heavier than the scale of a fish.

Well, chum, do we stay or go?
I say we go. I mean, if we stay here, and the her friends wake up to find her missing and an assassin waiting here, they might get the wrong idea.
A point. Alright, which way did she...
Vlad didn't finish his thought, as he saw a glint of silver on the ground. He picked it up in one gloved hand. It was an equisitely beautiful and light silver ball engraved and painted. He rapped it with a knuckle; it sounded hollow. Hmm. He felt Loiosh shift position on his shoulder to lay one of his forelegs on it.
Boss, I know what this is. It's like a direct link to Ayra's mind.
How come you could tell that and I couldn't?
After a little while Loiosh answered, Because you're wearing gloves. Heh, I guess opposable thumbs aren't everything, boss. She wants us to find someone named Selene.
Okay, then, where is this Selene person?
I'll ask, hold on.
He addressed the dragon, Okay, Ayra. We're ready to go, what do we do?

Selene's manor isn't too far from where you are. I've already dropped Claire off at her hom and she's disscussing matters over with her mother. things are worse than we thought. I have time enough to go to Selene's and tell her you're coming. she lives in the Manor by Marke. that's the giant lake that you can easily find by following that stream where those creatures were to the north for about a mile. you can't miss it. just make sure that when you get to the gate that you feed the puppy that's guarding the door. Here's a hint. It likes those deer things. Make sure you catch at least 12. And the link was broken.
