This was it, she'd failed at life. Remi still refused to stop running, but in her heart she knew she had lost him. Poor Gavin probably did get eaten by some man-eating plant those mages decided to put in here somewhere. He was gone...
"Excuse me! Are you missing someone?"
Lost to the ages...
As they got closer, Gavin finally pulled up the strength to call out, "Mommee!"
Remi halted immediately when she heard the familiar voice. She turned to see another woman carrying a purple fluffy child and...Gavin.
"Oh my god, you've found him!" she cried, relieved. She walked over to the woman before bending over in exhaustion from all the running. It sucks when the adrenaline rush ends. In between breaths, she huffed,
"I hope...he didn't...give you much...trouble."

"Oh, no! He was perfectly fine, though he seemed to miss you as much as you did him," Ari said with a soft smile, setting the toddler down. She understood how running around looking for children was-it drove you crazy with worry and wore you out to boot!
Ina wanted down too, apparently, and she struggled out of Ari's grasp to stand on the garden path. She peered at Remi curiously with golden eyes and then looked at Gavin, "Ywour mommie?" Her tail swished to the side slightly. Well, she looked like a nice lady! Not like the other one.

"Well, I'm glad he wasn't being his usual helion self," she smiled weakly, still breathing hard. See? She wasn't a complete failure as a mother.
Gavin toddled a bit when he was put down, but as soon as he could wobble without losing his balance he grasped onto his Mommee's leg. He looked over his shoulder toward Ina.
"Yes! This Mommee!"
Remi looked curiously at Ina. This must be the wolf child that Dacian had mentioned. She was so cute! And purple. Apparently Gavin had made friends already.
"Oh, and by the way I'm Remi," she introduced herself to the woman, holding out her hand in greeting, "I'm assuming this adorable little girl is yours?"

"Ooo, Mommeee, pretty!" Ina commented to Gavin with a grin, wagging her tail. Then, seeing they were in the garden and there were flowers everywhere she toddled quickly over to a bush. "Oooo, pretty flowers!" She giggled and reached for a butterfly on the top of the bush. Ohhh...too high!
Ari smiled and shook Remi's hand neatly, "Ah! I'm Arianna...though you may call me Ari...and yes, that's Inanna...or Ina." She glanced over at the troublesome purple girl, "Be careful, honey. Don't startle any bees." Well, she supposed if she did she'd be ok. Ina wasn't one to be too afraid of insects, luckily.

Gavin beamed at Ina's comment. He sure did have a pretty Mommee. At least, he and Ina thoguht so. At the mention of flowers, he followed her to them. The butterfly was very pretty, but he was too preoccupied with a snail that slimed close to his feet. He wanted to poke it.
"Lookie!" he said to Ina, pointing toward it.
Back on the adult side of the universe...
"Alright Ari," Remi smiled before joining her in the warnings, "And Gavin, don't stick anything in your mouth that you know isn't food!"

"Eeeeehehe! It's all slimey!" Ina said in a high pitched, but delighted squeek as she bent down to look at the thing Gavin found. She wondered how it got so sticky...mm...maybe it ate too much candy. Yeah, that had to be it!
"So...do you two stay on the compoud?" Ari questioned casually. She wouldn't really know, since she came here for visits only. She had enough room and time back at her own house so it was simply easier to house Ina there.

He gave in to his curiousity. He touched it.
"It's slimey!" he repeated after Ina, now that his fingers had snail slime on them, "Feel?"
The poor snail tried to retract into it's shell for safety. Gavin wondered how it did that. Now he wanted a shell!
"Yes, we're on the fourth floor of that building right there," Remi replied, pointing toward the nearest building, "So it always surprises me how Gavin manages to climb down four flights of stairs."

Ina reached out bravely to poke at it. For such a cutesy girl it was strange she didn't mind the idea of getting dirty. She had to prod her finger into its shell slightly, since it tried to hide, "Ewwww, gooy!" Yet she was giggling even at her comment. "Why doe eet hide?"
"Ah! That's really close," Ari commented, "Well...I suppose it's amazing what toddlers will do when they want to be troublesome." Sometimes she wondered how Ina got hold of the cookies from the pantry...though she had an inkling that Gawain was helping her by giving in to her cute begging acts.

He wiped his hand on his shirt. Though he was fond of slimey things, this wasn't really a good slimey. Something told him this slimey didn't taste good. Ina seemed enthralled with the snail, but Gavin was on to newer things. Unfortunately with his lack of balance due to his toddler legs, when he stepped forward to go further into the bushes he stumbled, squishing the snail.
Now he had slimeys all over his feet.
"Ewwwww!!" he cried, not letting his foot touch the ground. Of course, this put him further off balance and he fell on his bottom. However, he did take extra care not to let his foot touch the ground. For once in his life he'd rather not know what something felt like.
"Yes, Gavin tends to get himself into a lot of trouble," Remi told Ari with an exasperated sigh, "You should have seen what he did to Dacian's wall. Have you met Dacian yet?"

"Eeee!~ You 'quished it!" Ina cried in dismayed. She looked far less worried about his slimy food then the snail. She had been playing with that, thank you! Why did he have to ruin it?! "You bwoke it!" She whined, looking close to tears. She hadn't even liked the snail much but....easy come, easy go fit what crying was to a toddler.
"Dacian? Yes I have! He's very nice...I met him before I even recieved Ina," Ari nodded with a smile. She knew Ina was going to go on one of her fits again...but she ignored it in hopes she'd get distracted. Sometimes that happened and it was always easier then dealing with her crying over something silly.

Great. He'd only just been born a toddler and already he was making girls cry. Gavin wasn't sure what to do. He was all cried out, and he was still sticking his foot up in the air. He wanted the slimeys to go away. Ina seemed to like the slimeys. He stuck his foot in her face,
"You want?" he asked, innocently.
"Ah! I'd just met him a few days ago. Gavin decided to show up right in the middle of our meeting," Remi smiled, oblivious to her son's rather disgusting antics. Her "mom radar" wasn't fully developed just yet.
"Though, I'm not sure if he still likes Gavin. I think the whole spaghettios incident might have put him off..."

Apparently Ina didn't like those kind of slimeys. She cried, falling backward to get away from his sticky foot. "Eeeeeeeeh! Momah! Gavin put 'is fwoot in mwy face!!" She whinned, her ears flickering back as she crawled over to Ari and hid behind her leg. First he squished her toy and now this! She wanted to be fwends, but why was he doing all that stuff?
"Spaghettios? I dare say I don't want to know," Ari said with a small laugh. She turned her head to look down at the little purple toddler, sighing a little, "I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it, Ina." Though she knew she wouldn't understand that either.

What could he possibly be doing wrong?! Gavin thought Ina liked the slimeys. Couldn't she make up her mind? He just sat there innocently, blinking in confusion as Ina ran to her Mommee. Girls were just complicated, he guessed. He shifted his body so that he could stick his foot in a nearby bush to try and wipe of the slimeys. He was partially successful. At least now he wasn't worried about putting his foot on the ground.
"I thawt 'ou liked slimeys!" he called to Ina, still bewildered.
"Yeah, if you ever see a permanent tomato sauce stain on his wall, that's Gavin's work," Remi replied sheepishly as the little girl ran over to Ari. Apparently Gavin had done something. It was always the boys' fault, if a girl was distressed. She turned to her little hawk-child, "Gavin! Sticking feet in people's faces is a No-No!"
Oh dear, the dreaded No-No word again. Now Gavin was extremely confused. Giving Ina the slimey's was a bad thing?

Ina had liked the snail being slimey, but she sure didn't like his foot being slimey in his face! That was just icky!! "Slimeys in face is icky~!" She told Gavin in a clear whine. Why didn't boys understand things like this? Luca did it too...he'd stick mud in his face and then try to get it in her hair! Ok, making mud castles was fine and all, but not on her head! That's just eewwww!
"Oh~Throwing food around? The horror of young children," Ari said with a small laugh. She knew how that could be. Luckily Ina didn't like to throw food. Girls were funny about what they did with their food, after all.

Still confused, Gavin decided that girls were complex creatures. You could never please them. However, he didn't want to lose his friend, especially because she was fluffy.
"What 'ou like, then?" he asked. Maybe if she would enlighten him to the world of girldom he wouldn't keep making them angry.
"Throwing food? More like launching it," Remi laughed. "So, do you two live on the compound too? It'd be nice to have one of Gavin's friends nearby."
