Nefen jumped a little, taken aback. He made his presence known, walking out of his hiding place and toward Vermillion. He made a mental note not to underestimate a dragon's senses. After regaining his composure, his lips stretched to a smile as he answered.

"Get what over with, good sir? I'm not here to harm, exactly. I'm naught but a local. A curious one, I guess you'd say."

I guess he'd be wondering why I'm here.

"Well with you intentions clear, let me make my intentions known, I'm here to help my friends see the empress, and will not let anyone hinder that progress. There is too much at stake right now to be slowed by needless battles. So if you've come to merely observe the happenings, i suggest you follow me inside...."

Vermillion shifted to his human form, a inch or so shorter then Nefen, but unlike humans Vermillion's eyes kept their reptillan look.

"and we'll benefit from not having to fight alone."

Observe the happenings? Nefen normally wasn't an observer. He was a fighter, a manipulator. That's where he got his money from. But since he had no objective for the time being, he might as well play the part of an observer.

"Yessir," he replied efficiently. He then wondered what exactly was going on. He only heard of the Houka-Pearle conflict through the grapevine, and it was far from reliable.

Let's see where this goes...

"Very well then, it seems your an honorable man, i'll trust your not one to stab in the back, because i'll need to sense out my party again."

Vermillion walked towards the door where his riders went through and began walking clamly through the mayhem that lay about.

Marta glanced behind her try and spot Vermillion "where has that dragon gone off to now?" she said to herself as they walked down the hall, she was mostly following the commander and Nadira her guard following her still.
"Lady Nadira I noticed a flash of pain cross your face would you let me heal your burden before it gets damaged beyond my powers?" Marta called softly ahead to her.

Nefen obediently followed Vermillion through the door, staring about him at the wreckage and the dead bodies. Whoever it was.... they really did a number on the palace.

Nefen figured Vermillion was really strong or powerful, or at least, much more so than he himself was, so the berserker-demon made sure he didn't piss the dragon off.

Her face bore no expression as she carefully navigated the ruined halls.
She cast a startled glance towards Marta before continuing to pick her way through the debris. " Its a generous offer Queen Marta... but its not a wound that can be healed." She raised a questioning brow at Vermillion and indicated the newcomer. He was demonic, but since Vermillion brought him in... He probably was no threat.

The battle was just ahead, she was surpised to see Kado standing in the open doorway. "Kado-what?" The question was cut off by a stray sphere of burning liquid fire that hurtled down the hallway with a hollow roar. "Down, everyone, now!" She hurled Marta to the ground, and threw herself on top of her.

Vermillion looked at Nadira; "He's alright, I'll keep and eye on him, but what is the current situation. I feel allot of dark chaotic magic up ahead, but from the floor I cannot see ahead to find the source."

----------------

The commander crawled on his belly to the end of the guards circle and was giving assuraces to not give in to panic.

Nefen ducked down in time, barely making it. He gave a low whistle. "Wow... that was close..." He had certainly been in battles before, but not as many like this. This was more intense.

The quick flash of searing heat singed the tips of her hair, she quickly got to her feet, Nadira checked behind to make sure there were no injuries, and then offered a helping hand to the queen, whom she had just smashed against the ground. (Since Kakashi is not here, I'm dragging Kado so its easier for him to rejoin the rp.) Kado trotted towards them, and bowed deeply first to the queen, and then to the rest of them, but as he murmured his greetings another crash reverberated through the long hall, only slightly muffled by the partialy closed doors.

Nadira sprinted the rest of the way, and threw open the door. She was startled to see Ankhe standing in the middle of the room dodging the dark spells that a redhaired mage threw at her with fury, the vein stuck out on her neck as she roared, and summoned more magic. The womans eyes had glossed over, and despite the furiocity of her summoning, her mouth was twisted into a desperate, horrified expression.

Kneeling next to Ankhe was another redhaired woman who crouched amidst steaming bits of broken metal, a quick glance revealed the whole piece clasped tightly about the attacking mage's lender neck. Something about the two seemed familiar, but she just couldn't recall where she'd seen them; and then it clicked. In Jadira's quarters there was a small, intricatley designed frame of gold that she kept near her bedside. When Nadira nhad first arrived at the palace she had asked Nadira who it was, thinking that perhaps the two woman were relatives of Jadira, and therefore relatives of her own, It was not so, Jadira told her of the wars that had brought about her own birthing, and had had a hand in Nadiras' own. And then she told her about Shavas, and Tsuki the dark, and shadow mages who had helped to turn the tide of the wars in favor of the riteous VaTawny who had died in her efforts to imprison laos. Shavas had been the mother of Freya, the woman who had raised Jadira from infancy, and then mysteriously dissapeared when her adopted daughter took the throne.

The memory of Jadira sent a pang through her aching heart.
So now she knew who they were, there was just one little problem. Shavas and Tsuki died at the end of that war, during the last battle, and now here they were standing infront of her. If Shavas wasn't stopped she would ground this kingdom to dust under the heel of her boot with no troubles.

Vermillon stood up; "Commader, I entrust the safety of the queen to you, and do not fail in that duty for I will be very upset."

-----------

The commader growled; "You needn't tell me how to do my job, but i'm not a miracle maker against magic!"

-------------

Vermillion noted the expression on Nadira's features, these people attempting to kill them meant something to her, but to Vermillion they meant nothing.

"Puppets, how quaint, let me cut your strings, and send you back to your master broken."

Vermillon held his right hand back and a small glowing orb materialized of blinding light, in his left a soft blue flame lit on his fingertips.

"Shall we dance?" He taunted them.

Nefen had never been so confused. His eyes darted from one person to the other, including the new faces. He didn't know what was going on, but he hated being just a bystander. He'd rather be fighting. Observing wasn't his thing. He placed a hand on the hilt of the sword on his back. If anything happened, he would be aching to unsheathe the sword and wreak havoc..

((dammit i knew i should have gotten on last night but i was sooo tired from work))

Marta was a bit rattled up by being tossed around when Nadira helped her to her feet Marta quickly used her powers to heal the pain in the badly set arm when Nadira pulled away from her the bone was properly nitted together and probly didnt hurt any more. Marta smiled slightly as she took a better grip on her sword she looked at the surpreme commander warily for a second before her guards closed around her again "i hate to ask this Vermillion however, i think i must ....if those two women cause this much horror how are we supposed to get them to stop?" she called out just before he swung his arm back to do magic.

Shavas spun on her heel to glare at Vermillion.
She closed her eyes for a moment, and shook her head vigerously, scratching at the ring around her neck with urgency, her eyelids slid open and she lifted her head to peer at him from under arched eyebrows.
She watched him a moment, and then straightened, her eys clouding once more. She didn't answer his queston, instead a pool of dark magic enveloped her left hand, as she raised it to point at the Dragon.
.x.x.
(Still is forced to drag Tsuki, and Ankhe)
.x.x.

Tsuki let out a groan, as she massaged the skin on her neck that had burned white with magic. She was still in shock after being manhandled by Her daughter, Ankhe, who stood warily somewhere off to her left.
(lol, brilliance)

Shavas showed no emotion sas she stood amidst the chaos of screaming and wailing servents fleeing the premises, the calm in the eye of the hurricain you could say as she prepared to unleash her most deadly powers against the man standing before her. A small crowd of people were clustered in the doorway, but she shut them out concentrating on the immence power she could feel eminating from this single man.
Her twisting mouth pertrayed her confusion as she struggled in vain to put all of her thoughts in order, the only things she could hear clearly were the dark, alien whispers that filled her mind with violent thoughts, orders to rip, tear, destroy. The chorus of voices rose in pitch and intensity as she stood ready, begging, no, demanding that she surrender, slit pupiled red eyes loomed ou of the fuzzy blackness and watched with sadistic amusement as she unleashed a devastating blast of energy.

Vermillion chuckled watching the devestating magic coming at him at great speed. "What are you doing talking to me, get moving, find the empress, and let me figure out how to stop these two."

He brought up the ball of light and threw it towards the magic thrown at him. The resulting collision resulted in a small shiled of energy absorbing light that was slowly being consumed by the darker magic. However the cost was the shield was disappated at only 3/4 the cost of the spell sent at him. leaving it a serious threat for him or anyone else. This is where the second spell on his other hand was for, and would be his ace in the hole later.

He lunged forward at an angle tucking himself into a roll coming up, and the fire on his finger tips shot forward to consume the rest of Shavas's spell. However the blue flame remained as a small tongue burning mid air.

Vermillion looked at Shavas as he brushed of his shoulder; "Ya know, for puppets your not too bad, but your not good enough. You'll never be good enough so long as you lack free will."
