On December 3, 2004, Neko OMG, the past two weeks were HELL. Domi-kun and I are both very tired, as well as still incredibly shocked. But, the news will come later. Let's see if I can do this... Last week was Thanksgiving, and it was WONDERFUL. Or rather, for me, it was good to look at. I helped Domi-kun and Sora cook most of the dinner, but I really wasn't all that much help after thinking about it. I was in and out of the bathroom all day, sick to my stomach. I felt bad because I was worrying everyone, even Demare, but it all worked out in the end. After a bit I gave up trying to help cook, and just stole bits of samples from everything being made, even sneaking Demare a couple of bites to see what he might like. For a while, I was fine... up until the table was all set and the food was ready. Great... just great. Since I decided to play it safe and not eat anything in fear of just throwing it back up again, I had spent the entire dinner feeding Demare. Watching someone else eat really good food that you can't have yourself is pure torture... Remind me never to do it again. As a note, I've figured out a couple of things about the legend. It's only been about a month since he arrived here, but I have a few educated guesses about him, even though I'm not completely sure yet. Anyway! He'd definitely got something of a personality disorder. It's hard to explain, but I don't think he's quite a scitzo... However, he does have two personalities. It's like... he's two completely different people, though, and yet he can still retain some of his memories on both sides. I guess that doesn't make sense... Okay, let me explain it this was. I was watching him sleep a few days ago (because he's just so precious when he's sleeping), and something weird happened. He woke up, threw his blanket over the side of his crib, and then layed back down to sleep. Not even a minute late, he woke back up, and looked so confused... I retrieved the blanket for him, he looked oh so happy... and went back to sleep. ...And this went on for a good hour or two, except not with just his blanket. Sometimes he's throw his toward his feet, or he'd move his plushies and scare himself. (Yes, I gave back his plushies.) So, does that constitute as being scitzo...? Another thing I noticed is how the two personalities tend to be. His "darker" side doesn't seem to like the adults much, and he seems to be really picky about EVERYTHING. He's loud, obnoxious, and unfortunately likes sharp things... and he has this constant glare... His "lighter" side is very shy and rather curious, but once he gets past his shy stage he's very kind and just happy. Demare sometimes will try to help me with things, and he's just in general much calmer and quieter. He also really likes things that shine... What else can I guess on... A more obvious obversation would be that Demare is definitely a "half breed", and I can only assume it's half demon and half angel. Why mix these two very different bloods...? I mean, I know that I could technically be considered that myself, but my "light" side is still demon, making me a full demon yet still a half breed. I noticed that his right side, his demon side, prevents him from being able to fly very well. He can fly a LITTLE bit... but only if he concentrates really hard and that seems to be difficult. I wonder if that's because of the personalities...? A legend. What makes a legend? ...What makes up HIS legend...? Wait, I lost track of things. Where was I...? Oh! That's right, dinner. Demare really likes turkey. I mean, REALLY likes it. He refused to eat his corn for a while, but eventually I got him to eat it... the stuffing as well. He also likes cool whip, with pumpkin. ...No, not the pie. He didn't like the crust, so he only ate the pumpkin and the cool whip. What can I say, ne? I'm just happy he seemed to have fun. (Even if I didn't get him to eat the olives... Poor Domi-kun ended up wearing them since Demare had a fit and knocked the bowl out of my hands.) Before I went to bed, Domonic made me eat a salad to get some food into my stomach, since it seemed to calm down. ...Then he commented on my pudge. So, we decided a visit to the doctor would be in order, just to make sure it wasn't anything serious. I mean, if you had a firm thing of pudge growing near your stomach, wouldn't you be worried too? Anyway, it was Tuesday when we got the results from the doctor. Which leads me to the news I wanted to share. As of Tuesday, November 30, 2004... I was officially announced pregnant. Shocking, isn't it? I'm still surprised... Everyone here is so excited, except for one resident. Demare. I realize that Demare may not understand the whole concept of having a younger brother or sister, but he's made one fact known already: he's against the idea of another baby being around. That means time away from him, right? At least, that's what he seems to think... that we'll neglect him. Or worse yet, that we'll forget about him completely. I feel bad, because there's nothing I can really say to make him feel better. I mean, sure, I can tell him that would never happy, and certainly it won't. Unfortunately, it seems I've shaken the trust he had with me, and he doesn't seem too happy. He pretends to not care about it, but I know better. A part of me wishes that he'll be a child before the baby arrives, but another part of me wishes that Demare could be my precious little baby forever. That's the joys of parenthood, ne? After all of this time, I'm still learning. On a better note, Orphne and Waya stopped by yesterday to drop off a gift. I feel bad for missing them, but perhaps I'll be able to catch them sometime soon. They gave us this beautiful paper latern... I need to find something to give them as thanks! Demare seemed to want it hung over his crib, so that's where it is currently. Hopefully he doesn't try to hang on the tassle or anything...

Someone Like You Aurora troted in once again with the giggiling Guinevere strapped to her back. She was so excited to come back and see all her friends! There were so many of them last time, she hoped she would see lots of them again today. She even met a big one! Maybe he would be back or there would be other big ones she could play with. The big ones were especially warm and cuddly, just like Aurora. Aurora kneeled down and took Guinevere out of her strapped in seat and placed her on her floor with the large back. Guinevere plopped herself down on her diapered behind and looked around wondering if any of her friends were there. Neko sighed softly as she stepped in through the door, her tail flicking a little bit as she shifted her hold on Demare a little bit. The tiny boy was calm toward, much to her relief, and she immediately set out for the couch to sit on. Back... pain... she thought to herself, wincing slightly.Demare looked around for a moment, trying to figure out where he was as he had just woken up from napping in his guardian's arms. The HQ... that's right. He'd wanted to come here today. Glancing down toward the floor for a moment, he realized that there wasn't that many people here toward. Wait, wasn't that the girl he'd seen before, but didn't quite get a chance to find out the name to?Guinevere looked up and saw a little boy she thought looked familar. She swung the top of the bag open and burrowed inside of it, almost having her little feets protrude into the air while the rest of her got submerged into the bag. She came out with a some smushed bananas in a little container and crawled over to him with them in tow ready to share a snack with him. Aurora looked up at the human. "You think you have back pain! That girl may look small but she certainly is NOT!" She layed down on the floor, being too large to sit on the couch. Neko's ears drew back a little, blinked a few times as she looked to Aurora. "...Did... you just read my mind?" she couldn't help but comment at first, lifting a brow. "It's not him causing me pain, actually. I've just been running around all day, even though I really shouldn't be."
Noticing the child crawling over to the couch, the demon hanyou smiled a little bit. "Hey, look at that," she said, looking to Demare for a moment. "Looks like she wants to show you something. Want down?"Demare's bi-colored eyes watched for a moment, a little unsure at first. That was one of the babies that had been crying when he saw her, wasn't it? Or was that someone else? Finally, he nodded slowly, his wings spreading as Neko leaned over to set him on the floor near the little girl.Guinevere giggled happily as she saw him get put down and crawled in a faster bee line right at him. She sat down happily at his feet and bit off the cover to the snack, extending the open contain in her little clenched hand. Mushed bananas were ummy. She looked at him hoping he would take some and noticed his eyes. They were very pretty and very unique. Mesmorizing as well she though as she stared into them. Aurora smiled. "Not reading your minid persay, I just noticed you wincing, and what with the changing positions of your child I figured it was your back...or your side...but backs are almsot sure things when pain comes around. Mom complains of one all the time." She replied, the last part meaning about Pink. "I'm taking care of her till our Mom comes back from her quest with Della and hoping to find Ursa on the way." Demare sniffed the air close to the container curiously, not really having bananas before. What was this stuff...? It looked gooey, and messy. ...It also looked rather tasty. Carefully and cautiously, he reached his little hand into the container and scooped out a little bit of the mushed up fruit with his fingers, a little wary before sticking them into his mouth.
...Tangy. And at the same time, a little sweet. Blinking a few times, he took his hand out of his mouth and giggled in approval, lifting his arms into the air for no reason in particular."Quest?" Neko asked curiously, her ears perking up a little bit. "Odd. It seems just about everyone's questing right now. Must be the season or something.""She took the little hat to find others like it for some reason." Aurora replied with a shrug. "And Ursa went away to find herself. Both a little young, but they need to do what they need to do. Us talas don't go on quests." She said with a nod. "We grow and prosper with age and knowledge!" She replied indignitly. Guinevere giggled as the little boy ate the yummies and approved. She shoved both of her little fists in the container and withdrew two large handfulls of the mushed bananas and shoved them, one hand at a time, into her mouth, munching happily, and surprisngly, with out much mess, having such expertise in the act of sucking on her hand. Patience, an adult Ivysaur Poke-Anthro, stepped quietly into the HQ. There were some people in here, she noticed, and Gyre was excied about it. Guin was here! The bird girl chirped to be let down. Patience obliged her, giggled as she power-cralwed over to Guin. Gyre gently tackled Guin, quietly staring at the strange new Legend. This one had to be inspected. She cralwed slowly over to him, inteding to take a good whiff of him. "Don't mind her, please..." Patience said. Neko laughed a little bit. "I know how that is," she smiled before placing a hand on her stomach. "I've only been on a quest once myself, but it was pointless."Demare giggled a little bit before trying to take a little more of the banana's, not wanting to take too much of the other legend's snack.Demare blinked at the new legend, unable to help but back away a little bit. What was she doing?? Why was she sniffing him? ...Was she going to eat him? His white eye looked wary while his black one slowly began to narrow. She was invading his space...Aurora comes over to the playuing babies and grabs Guinevere's hood in her mouth, throwing the bag over her shoulder and then Guinevere onto her back. "We have to go, sorry little buddy." She replies, petting Demare lightly on the head. "But you can keep the bananas!" She said happily and waved to Neko as well. Gyre waved goodbye to her friend, and quickly became distracted by Demare. Two different colors. Definately needs investigating. Sniff...sniff...Smelled funny, too. Bizarre. What was he? Was he a bird? DS traipsed up the road towards the HQ, cradling a small, pale baby in her arms, with an equally pale boy trailing behind her. Hopefully someone helpful would be there today. Or at least, no one would demand any baked goods. She'd been to busy to bake for weeks!
Tired of walking behind, Xue ran ahead into the building. He had seen this place before, and there were lots of interesting people in it! So Des needed to hurry up.
But in the meantime... Xue is heeeeere! biggrin Demare wasn't in the mind to say goodbye as he backed up a little more, his black eye a little narrow slit with a glare, his white remaining wide open and looking rather large. He whimpered faintly, his white wing drawing very close to his back as if it would protect him. Something wasn't right with him...Meh...maybe he wasn't a good one to sniff after all. There was someone else here anyway. Gyre shrugged and backed off, more because she was bored than anything else. Time to sniff someone new! She cralwed over in DS's general direction, trying to keep out of the way so she could set her Legend down. Out of the corner of her eye, she watched Demare, curious. "Xue, wait for us please!" Much as she would have liked to run after the boy, it was impossible when she was carrying the baby. Still, he was asleep for now, and that was something she intended to maintain.
Unfortunately, it was something the baby wouldn't allow. Opening one silvery eye, he clenched his hands and whined softly. Where was this place anyway?
Sighing, DS joined Xue by the door. "So much for staying asleep," she muttered to herself. In a louder voice, she called into the room."Is anyone here?"Demare slowly calmed down a little bit as the bird-like legend crawled away, his right eye still glaring. How... strange."Demare," Neko said, finally noticing his glare. "Calm down, hon."The little boy's eyes returned to normal as his guardian spoke, the child looking over his shoulder and blinking a few times. Had he done something wrong?"I'm here," she answered DS, waving a hand from the couch, smiling. "I'd get up to greet you, but I need to rest my back."Patience waved, smiling, and made her way to the couch. "I am here as well. Lu is at home, sleeping. I'm out and about doing some shopping."Gyre reached up with her chubby hands. This one had an eye like her! She had to see this. Bring him down, please! Her mouth made shapes like words, but nothing like speech really come forth from them. "Doww! Doww peez!" she said, blinking. "I wouldn't want to impose anyway," DS replied, relieved that someone was there. A few someones it seemed. She moseyed over towards the couch, yet instead of taking a seat on it knelt on the floor in front of it. Once she was comfortably seated, she gently set her charge on the floor.
Karan rolled over onto his stomach, and looked around the room, still keeping one eye closed. It looked like a normal enough room, to him. With people.
Xue wiggled himself onto the couch behind DS, and looked at the woman he was next to. She looked interesting to him, yes yes!Demare looked curiously to the new baby set on the floor, his bi-colored eyes blinking in wonder. Was he going to start sniffing at him, too...? ...Wait, he looked a little lazy. Maybe he could get a closer look without imposing, then.
Cautiously, the little boy leaned forward onto his hands and knees, carefully crawling a little closer to the new child."Ne, imposing on what?" she asked curiously, giggling a little bit. "I don't believe you're disrupting anything, and if you are, it would be news to me. I don't know if I've ever introduced myself before, but I do recall seeing you around... My name's Neko."Oh ho! There he was! Must now investigate! Hope he's not weird and antisocial like that other one... Gyre crawled up slowly this time, tilting her head. One eye closed? She did the same, wondering if it was some new game she had never been taught. He was a pretty color, too, but he had no wings that she could see. The other boy did, but this one did not... Karan looked from the boy to the girl in front of him. Both of them looked fluffy to him, on their backs. He had fluff there too, but he could take his off. The others didn't look like they could. How strange.
And one of them was doing the same thing he was! Turning his head to the right so he was nearly on his side, he blinked and opened the other eye. Gold and silver winked back at the girl, as he waited to see what she would do.
Laughing, DS shook her head. "Better to be safe than sorry, in my opinion. And it's a pleasure to meet you Neko. I'm DS. Tell me, have you been coming here long?"Gyre blinked back, confused. Then, regaining confidence, (and spying Demare crawling near) she opened both eyes and fluffed her wings, sending tiny balls of poof into the air. Feather poof. Good stuff. Gyre giggled and clapped, wondering if the lazy one's fluff could do the same. It didn't look like wings, though, which was confusing... Demare watched for a moment, leaning backwards until he was sitting again, still wary of the bird girl. Two colored eyes... Just like his... His wings twitched a little bit as he stayed to himself, his hands resting down on his little feet.Neko thought for a moment. "Actually, since I don't really live all that close by, I don't get to come by here too often... Though I wish I could," she admitted. "I feel bad, though. Demare hasn't gotten a chance to really make a friend quite yet, and I feel it's kinda my fault. Granted... I've only had him for about a month... I wonder if things were the same with the other Neko?"
Realizing what she'd said aloud, she blushed slightly. "I-I mean... Goodness, your baby is so cuuute!"Karan's eyes widened as the girl's fluff fluffed itself all on its own. His fluff couldn't do that. He didn't know how hers moved on its own, but it made lots of other things fluffy. As bits of feather fluff floated down, he reached for his long scarf, grasping the bright orange end in one hand. It didn't look like any of the fluff.
DS blushed as well, and looked down into her lap. "Oh, well... he just showed up at my door day before yesterday. I was hoping I could find some answers here, but it seems that'll have to wait..." Eager to change the subject, she rushed on. "So, which is yours?"Patience, watching the clock, stood up. She scooped up Gyre into her arms, just as she was power-fluffing her wings for the strange pale boy. Gyre blinked, and, deciding to be polite, waved to both the boys. It was fun, short a visit as it was. But it was okay. "Bai bai..." she cooed. "Moonie...n...Blinky!" "Goodbye everyone!" Patience waved with her free hand and walked out the door. Time to do more shopping! "The shy one, actually," she said, looking toward Demare for a moment. "He's... ...Well, he's a bit hard to explain. Let's just put it that way."Looking over his shoulder for a moment, he stared up at his guardian with curiosity. Was she talking about him? Looking back to the other two legends, his tiny fingers began to fiddle with the stray bandage pieces on his arms, his fingers rubbing over some of the blood stains on the right ones.Demare watched the bird-girl being carried off, lifting a hand after a moment to wave."I can imagine." From what she'd seen from these children, all of them were different, in their own ways. Still, she decided not to press the issue. "Shy isn't bad," she murmured slowly. "What's his name?"
Well, that was no fun. All the fluff was gone, and the fluffing girl had been picked up. Karan streched out one arm to wave, but it barely raised an inch above the floor before he flopped it back down with a small grunt.
Since the fluffy girl was gone, he turned his head to the boy, eyes looking at the ones that seemed so like his own.Neko slapped a hand over her face, laughing nervously. "Oh goodness, I can't seem to think tonight, forgive me," she explained. "His name is Demare."Demare blinked once, beginning to realize just how lazy the child was. Now that the bird girl was gone, however... Leaning forward again, he began to crawl just a little closer to the other legend, until he was about a foot away. Sitting back again, he tilted his head as he examined the boy that seemed to resemble him.
One silver, and one gold eye... A moon pattern, and also a sun pattern? He wondered about this curiously, wondering if maybe he was lazy because it was night right now.
"He'o," he said quietly, reaching down to place his hands on his feet again. His wings drooped down a little bit, seeming to relax. Apparently, Demare seemed to do better during "one-on-one" interactions, providing he was the one to come up to them.Nodding thoughtfully, DS brushed a strand of her dark blue hair back. "That's a lovely name. And you were... Neko-san, yes? I'm not good with names," she said apologetically.
Karan looked up at the boy, and finally pulled himself up to sit upright, though he was still slouching. His eyes were still watching the others, though after a moment he followed the boy's gaze back to his scarf, which he clenched tighter in his hands before looking back at the boy silently."Hai!" she said with a smile. "Ne ne, what's your legend's name? And my, he was just beautiful eyes... It seems bi-colored eyes aren't very common around here."Demare observed the other's position for a moment before he began to slouch himself, his eyes drifting to the scarf the boy clenched so tightly in his hands.
"Peety..." he said softly before looking at his feet, wiggling his toes a little bit in his booties."You're right," DS agreed, looking towards the two boys once more. "I was surprised when I saw Demare's eyes, actually. And his name is Karan." The phrase "your legend" caught her off guard, and she blushed again.
The compliment made a small smile show on Karan's lipe, though no words came out. Instead, he shoved the end of scarf towards the boy, and stroked the top near his neck affectionately. "Karan?" Neko's ears perked up a little bit as she smiled. "That's such a pretty name! Pretty name for a cute little boy..."
It was quite obvious by now that the demon hanyou adored small beings.Demare almost shied away, but he forced himself not to turning his eyes up toward the boy. To him, they were alike, both being split in a way, perhaps himself more so than Karan. Smiling a little bit, his shy nature seemed to be quickly melting away.
"'oph," he commented, tapping has hands together lightly. Looking to his bandages for a moment, he held up an arm a little bit and tapped it lightly. "c'ous." He'd added, and then stuck his tongue out as if to say they were bad.DS tried to stifle a laugh as she looked up at the woman. "Yes, that's one way of looking at it..."
A frown crossed Karan's features when the boy almost turned away, but the soft smile returned when he touched his scarf. Now he could feel how his fluff felt. Even if it was different from the boy's fluff, it was still nice.
He reached towards the boy's bandages when they approached, yet upon seeing his reaction to them, he contiued forwards, trying to touch the wings instead.Instinctively, his white wing began to move away a little, while his black one stayed where it was. With a little thought, Demare did his best to curl both of his wings forward for Karan to touch, feeling it was fair since the boy let him get to touch his scarf.
The two wings were very different in touch. The white feathers were soft and welcoming, not course or mused even a little bit. The black, leathery wing was soft was well, but very thin and fragile as it already bore a few tears in some spots. The dark one wasn't as fluffy as the girl's wings. Or even as the white one. But it felt strangely cool as Karan patted it. He reached for the other wing, to feel it better, and tipped too far forward, nearly crashing into the other boy, but still hitting the floor with a dull thud and a soft wail.
"Oh dear," DS murmured, going to comfort her fallen charge. "It is getting late. Maybe now would be the best time to call it a night..."Demare's eyes grew a little larger as the boy fell, freezing as he wondered what to do. At least his guardian was there, right...? ...Was it his fault he fell over?Neko placed a hand over her mouth, stifling a yawn. "I should be heading home myself, actually... I didn't really realize how late it was getting."Very carefully, the little legend did his best his stand up, but only to be scooped by Neko and set in her lap for a moment. But... he wanted to see...
"Ahwahet," he said softly. "Ertheeng ahwahet."Karan reached back towards the boy, yet he was picked up be his own guardian. That wasn't fair. He wanted to see the wings more. And the fall surprised him more than hurt him.
"Those two seemed to be getting along well... I hope they get to see eachother again soon." DS busied herself with checking Karan for any injuries, even though the baby seemed fine. "Xue, we're leaving."
The Porcelain had fallen asleep on the couch, and it was with feelings of disappointment that he woke up. Leaving? But Xue didn't meet anyone yet! sad
"Not my fault." Satisfied that Karan was okay, she waved to Neko. "I'd like to see you again myself, actually. And-"
Fine. Then Xue is going home. xp
Grabbing his robes in one hand, the boy stormed out of the building in a huff.
"Urm... we'll be in touch!" Shaking her head, DS hurried as best she could after the boy. "Sorry, and good night!""Ja ne!" she called after the woman, waving goodbye. She smiled a little bit as she noticed Demare also waving, even if it was reluctant.
"I take it you had fun today, ne?" Neko asked the child, standing up carefully and holding Demare a little better in her arms. "I'll try to come back sooner, okay? Hopefully this whole pregnancy thing won't force me off my feet."Demare's smile faded a little bit as the two began to walk toward the exit, his wings curling around his body a little bit. Hopefully, he really would get to see Karan again...

On December 6, 2004, Neko Everything changes, doesn't it? The weather grows cold, and plants continue to die, and life goes on. People become different, and Demare is no exception. Last night, something definitely had changed... I only wish I could figure out WHY. I decided to stop by the HQ last night, after doing quite a bit of shopping. Gods, I hate being busy... And this whole pregnant thing isn't helping, either. I stopped by mostly for the sake of resting my back, honestly, but I thought I'd treat Demare to the trip since he'd been so good. Little Guinevere was there, but she didn't stay for too long. She shared a snack with Demare before the one that brought her took off, and then another child approached. Intersting girl... She had a large mask on her head, similar to a bird I think. Something strange happened, however. At first, I hadn't noticed anything. But after a moment, I realized that Demare wasn't just scared of the girl, but he was also glaring at her. It was as if both of his personalities had surfaced at the same time, and he wasn't quite sure what to do... I've never seen that before, much less thought it even possible. He snapped out of it when I spoke to him, though, so I hope things are all right with him... I met DS and her legend, Karan, last night as well. Karan... He kind of reminds me of Demare, in the way that they're split between two sources. Demare being half demon and half angel, and Karan having a scarf with the moon on one side and the sun on the other. His eyes are bi-colored as well, silver and gold. Snow white hair, pale flesh... while the other had brown-red hair and greyish flesh. Interesting... VERY interesting. On the bright side, the two seem to get along pretty well. Demare even let Karan touch his wings, and the boy showed him his scarf? Perhaps I'll have to see about trying to arrange a playdate for the boys to spend some time together. I only hope Demare's darker nature doesn't scare him away... I wouldn't mind speaking with DS, as well. She seems confused for one reason or another, and I want to see if I can help. Maybe, just maybe, I can be of some use around here...

Difference Between Light and Dark Neko peered into the HQ quietly, her tail flicking a little bit behind her. A quick visit before heading home wouldn't be too bad, right? Demare was tired, anyway, so she knew she couldn't stay long. The boy rested in her arms, his eyes closed for the moment as he attempted to fall alseep in her arms.Karan blinked, surprised. She was colder than he was, but it didn't feel bad. It felt like night when he didn't have any blankets over him, but that never bothered him beither. To him, she felt like darkness. Eyes wide, he looked at the girl, still touching her hand with his own.Chandra was pleased the boy didn't flinch away from her hand, but she removed it anyway. She didn't like sustained contact with the living, it only reminded her of what she was slowly losing. "I'm almost as cold as the already dead." She said quickly, sure he wouldn't understand a word she said. She looked around as she thought she felt someone else around the HQ. Was there someone by the door? DS shivered slightly. Chandra, while clearly a nice girl in her own way, was a little creepy. Not to mention that the door had just opened, blowing a gust of night air in. Much to her pleasure, it also blew in a familiar face, or two. "Neko-san, good evening!"
Karan was a little sad when the girl pulled her hand away, but he let it go. When he was rubbing the fuzzy boy's ears, they had felt a little too warm to him. Not enough to bother him, just enough to be weird. So it must have been the same.
As Demare came into view, Karan immediately recognized him as the fluffy wing boy. He also looked a little like the big girl. Did that mean that the fluffy wing boy looked like him too?Blinking a few times, her ears perked up as she heard a voice. Someone was there! Stepping into the headquarters, she made sure to step a bit lightly so she wouldn't wake her child, in slight fear that his mood would turn sour and the others would see the more fearsome side of Demare. It took her a moment to recognize the woman and her baby, but the little girl...
"Hello, DS," she said softly, smiling a bit before looking to the girl. "And... hello to you, as well. I don't believe I've met you before."Chandra took DS's greeting of the newcomers as a cue for her to exit. It was getting late and she had things to do while the night was at its darkest. "Goodbye." She nodded her head a tiny amount in Karan and DS's direction and then made her way slowly towards the door to slip past Neko and into the dark. Neko blinked a few times as the girl walked on past and made her exit. Mentally, she hoped she didn't scare the child off...Karan whined almost inaudibly as the girl was leaving. He didn't want her to leave. Did he? No, she was... interesting. And he liked her, didn't he.
He liked the wing boy too. He did look a little like the big girl, so he guessed he must look like him too. Their eyes were kind of the same too. So maybe the wing boy was like him and the girl?
Curious, he looked at Demare again, closing one eye, then the other, than opening them both wide.Demare whined softly as the lights started to get to him, slowly opening his bi-colored eyes partially to figure out what was going on. This wasn't home... Wasn't Neko taking him home? His eyes little slits as he looked about, he turned his head to see Karan. That was the boy he'd seen the other day, wasn't it? Opening his eyes a little wider, he blinked a few times as he tried to adjust to the light.Yep, the eyes were a little bit the same. But more divided... one was as white as the moon, the other dark as night. So maybe the wing boy had a moon too? After a moments thought, which he spent looking at the boy and stroking the dark side of his scarf, he held it out just enough to see the design clearly.Demare watched Karan for a moment, wondering why he was staring at him. Was there something wrong? Was something on his face? Looking to the boy's scarf for a moment, the small child thought about something. Waving a little hand toward the other boy, he trying to get his attention.
Once he had it, he pointed toward the child's scarf, toward the dark blue side that held the moon. Then, he pointed outside, toward the darkness of the night.
"Dahk," he tried to say, looking back to Karan before continuing. Next, we pointed to the other side of the scard, toward the orange and the sun shape. Then, he pointed upward toward the lights on the ceiling.
"'Ahit," he again tried to say. Pointing back to the boy's scarf, he again was looking at the moon before pointing to his own right side.
"Dahk."
Then, he pointed toward the sun shape, and to his own left side.
"'Ahit."So this boy was different. But close. Karan squinted at him for a moment, then nodded. He liked this boy. And this time, he wasin complete agreement. With what he wasn't quite sure.
But something was bothering him, and after a moment he figured out what it was. The window was dark, and no light at all was coming in. No moonlight, not even starlight.
He shivered, and with a tiny yelp buried his head in his scarves and the arms of the woman holding him.
"Now what?" She didn't mean to sound annoyed, but the child had her perplexed. Nothing she did anymore seemed to please him, or even comfort him a little. Pleadingly, she turned to Neko. "I don't suppose you know what's bothering him? Has Demare ever been like this?"Neko frowned softly, looking to Karan for a moment. "Well... yes, and no. Demare..."
She sighed lightly. There was no doubt about it; SOMEBODY needed to know about this child, and there really wasn't a way around it. "Demare sometimes grows upset with things... Or he'll be afraid for seemingly no reason at all. Demo, the reason behind that is because he seems to have two very different personalities... and his darker side likes to torment this quieter side. I don't think Karan's the same way... something might be frightening him."
She thought for a moment, pondering over what Demare was doing a moment ago. Then it clicked.
Demare's lighter side loved the daylight, while his darker side prefered the darkness. Perhaps...
"Ne ne, DS? From the look of Karan's scarf, does he like the night or day? Perhaps one more than the other?"That was a good question. "I don't know... he sleeps during the day most of the time, but that's because I've been doing that..." But that wasn't completely accurate. Last night she had tried most of the night to get him to sleep, but to no avail. And that had led to...
She sighed. "I'm really not sure. He's only been with me for five days. But I should've noticed something." Annoyed at herself, she tugged at Karan's scarf accidently.
Which prompted the Legend to let out a louder wail, and hug the poor bits of fabric even tighter.
"Oh no... I'm sorry Neko-san, but I'd really best get him home. I really want to talk to you soon though, so expect a letter from me soon!" Exhausted and exasperated, she rubbed the child's back gently and hurried out of the building.Neko watched as DS fled from the HQ, a little baffled. My... the child certainly liked his scarf. She looked down to Demare for a moment, noticing the concerned look in his eyes.
"Well, lets get home, shall we? I'm getting tired, myself," she told him, smiling a little bit as she headed off into the night herself.

On December 8, 2004, Neko Demare's been acting a little strange ever since he met Karan the other day. We saw him again last night, and Demare seemed to have been trying to explain something to him. I... don't quite understand it myself, but he was talking about light and dark. Something about... the moon and the sun? Though, whatever it was he was talking about, Karan seemed to have gotten disturbed by something and started to fuss. However, I realized something... Karan and Demare seem similar in a few ways. Perhaps Karan also feels safer in certain places? Demare's lighter side prefers to be in the sun, while his darker side like the night and the moon. Maybe Karan likes the moon more than the sun, and he got scared because he couldn't see it? Maybe I really should plan that visit soon... I might be able to help DS find out what's wrong with Karan.

Without Control Wow... She's been visiting a lot this week, hasn't she? Neko quietly stepped into the headquarters, one hand resting on Demare's back as he rode on her shoulders, his tiny hands grasping tightly onto her ears. Yes, it hurt, but if it made him feel safer...
Oddly enough, no one seemed to be around yet. Blinking a few times, the demon hanyou made her way over to the couch and carefully took a seat, reaching behind her and taking the baby off of her shoulders.
"All right, you," she cooed at him with a smile, "let's see who we meet today."Aurora, getting used to this same routine, troted in, a little more bounce in her step just to change it up a little, with Guinevere happily seated apon her back. As she went to the middle of the room, and depositied Guinevere and the bag on the ground, she layed down a few feet away, stretching and relaxing, watching the little girl scan the room back and forth, back and forth, shaking her head actually, for any of her friends that could be around. A young woman walked inside, trying to keep her black wings tucked back as possible, in an attempt to make herself look normal... As if that where possible. She saw a few others in the area aswell, before waveing shyly, smileing. "Hello... My name's Tenshi.. And my master Gabreil told me to come here.. Nice to meet you all." She said with a deep bow. "What is this place? Is it your home?" A soft, shy voice announced the arrival of a newcomer, this one accompanied by two more familiar faces. "It's very big..."
DS chuckled and shook her head. "We've made a bit of a detour, but we dropped by the house before. That big blue one. This's where this little one came from, I think." She nodded towards Karan, who was again asleep as he was carried through the door.Aoshi stepped back into the HQ, looking very tired and weighed down. The tall young man with the long black curls was dressed a bit simpler than his last foray into the HQ; faded black jeans and a white button-shirt draped over his thin body and caught on his black feathered wings as he sat down hard, gently placing the carriers next to him. He'd brought both twins this time- Aureli slept peacefully, and even Keita seemed a bit subdued. Neko smiled as others began to file through the door, waving her hand a little bit to Aurora and then looking toward Tenshi.
"Nice to meet you," she said warmly, nodding her head a little bit. "My name is Neko."Demare watched quietly, his eyes more or less on the child sitting on the floor. He made no effort to say hello, much less move, as he crawled out of Neko's arms and seated himself on the couch. It was comfortable here... Warm.Guinevere got so excited and claped her hands as she heard all the hussle and bussle suddenly come in. She turned around first spotted Demare. He seemed to want to stay on the couch, not come to her and she moved on. She then spoted the mean little boy who wouldn;t share his scarves with her. She moved on once again. She then saw Keita with...another girl. It saddened her a little but she crawled to him anyways, her favorite teddy plushie shoved down in her diaper, willing to let him play with it while she offered to scritch his ears. They were so fluffy and brought her littleself so much enjoyment. "Is that right?" Yeine hugged her bear closer to her, a bit nervous around all the new people. "It seems very... nice..."
Noticing the girl's discomfort, DS patted her on the shoulder, after first placing the sleeping Karan on the couch. "It's okay. You'll fit right in. Besides, it's not like I know everyone either." The winged woman in the corner was a good example. The man on the couch looked familiar, but she couldn't remember meeting him, or the children with him. Karan stretched slowly and blinked. Where was he now? Was this place home?Tenshi smiled and waved to Neko, before she looked at the small children around her. "Aww... They remind me of my little ones back home.." She comented twards Neko. "Is one of them yours?" After she asked she scratched her chin, thinking to herself: I wonder if this is why master Gabreil wanted me to come here... Aoshi blinked at GUin, then tilted his head at his baby brother at Keita mrrr'd and held his hands out to her. Well, it wasn't like sleeping Aureli needed a playmate...he pulled the Legend boy out of his carrier and set him on the floor next to Guin. "Play nice with the girls, Keita...they come in handy later," he whispered confidentially, and sat back to watch. Keita blinked around him, then crawled to Guin and snuggled against her. Mama wasn't around today...Keita didn't know what was going on but he missed her...Neko nodded before looking to the child closest to her. "Actually, yes. His name's Demare..." she explained, then looking to DS. "Good evening! And who's this you have with you today?"Demare blinked a few times as he watched the woman place Karan on the couch, tooking to the sleeping child for a moment before he shifted down onto all fours. Crawling the little ways to reach the boy, he lifted a hand and waved his fingers oddly in hello. No, this wasn't home. It was the big room with all the people. And lots of new people too. But he wasn't too interested in them, and looked for people he could remember.
There was the brown girl on the floor, playing with the fuzzy ear boy. Karan was tempted to go pet the fuzzy ears, but that meant he'd have to see the girl, and she might try to take his stuff without asking again. He'd have to wait for a better chance to pet his ears.
And it was the wing boy, right next to him. Karan stretched out one hand towards him and waved it.Guinevere snuggled happily against Keita and huggled him tight. After she let go of him she dug down in her diaper and produced a happy little teddy bear plushie. She extended it to him in her little hand and smiled happily. Tenshi smiled as she watched the children, before she looked around, and took a seat on a couch where she wouldn't be in the way. She then looked up to the Neko girl, hopeing she wouldn't bother her if she asked another question. "What are these children? If you don't mind me asking. They don't seem like normal humans to me." Aurora piped up from the floor, next to the couch, "Is anything normal these days?" "Mrrrr!" Keita took the plushie and nuzzled against Guinnie, rubbing his soft ears against her face. He peered at her, starting to regain some of his usual cheer, and bounced. "MrrrRRRrrrr? Mrr." Neko's ears perked up a little bit as she giggled. "Right," she agreed with Aurora. "Well, from what I can tell, none of the children here are human at all. Or rather, they aren't... normal... humans. Each one in special in some way, depending on who you're talking about."Demare seated himself in front of Karan, his wings twitching a little bit. Suddenly the couch seemed to be getting crowded... He smiled anyway, resting his hands down by his knees.
"Hahw yuu?" he asked, wondering if he was feeling better from last night.Guinevere nuzzled back against Keita, giggiling as his soft ears tickled her face. She reached up and scritched behind his ears happily. She smiled big at him and said, plain and simple. "FLUFFY!" Loving the feel of all soft things, especially deer ears. Aurora's ears perked up and smiled at Guinevere's first real word, remembering to record that in the journal when they got home. Karan eyed the sitter before looking back at the wing boy. How was he? Well, he had to sit in a cardboard box for an hour last night before DS realized he wouldn't sleep, and then played with the strange pale boy that lived there. And he then he slept. All in all, okay, which he represented with a shrug of the shoulders.
"It's nice here, but..." Yeine squeezed her bear tightly. It was getting so crowded, and she didn't exactly fit in, even among these people.
DS sighed. It would have been nice if she could let Karan have a visit, and in turn meet some more people herself. But Yeine was probably tired from her journey. "We should go home," she decided, and picked up Karan from the couch mid-shrug. "Come on honey, let's go."
But he didn't get to play with wing boy! Pouting, he crossed his arms. This one was no fun at all!Keita blinked at her, then giggled and rocked back and forth. "Smile! Preee smile." He melted into the ear scritches, blissful smile on his little face as he fell over. Aoshi laid on his stomach across the sofa, wings folded neatly as he drowsily watched the babies play. So cute...almost sickening, in that not-quite way. Demare's eyes widened as the boy was plucked right off the couch, wondering why he never got to spend any time with the people he liked. His eyes narrowed as he glared toward Karan's guardian, his lips pursing into a thin straight line. Always... ALWAYS ruining his fun...Chandra slipped into the door just after DS and Karan left. She was disappointed to miss the boy, but there were others here. Curious and wary, she eyed the others in the room and made her way over to stand against a wall to watch them interact. Guinevere giggled when she saw his smile and let go of his ears. She looked left then right and jumped on him, glomping him to the floor. After a few seconds of snuggiling him, she bounded off of him and crawled away, looking back at him wanting him to follor and catch her. "Ta,Ta!" She said happily as she crawled around the room. Keita blinked, a bit confused to have his snuggling taken away, and peered up at Aoshi. The blackbird hybrid smiled wryly, shaking his head in amusement. "You're supposed to chase her, silly. It's a girl thing." He made a shooing motion in her direction. Determined now, Keita abandoned the plushie and pulled himself to his hands and knees, little face etched with focus as he did his little best to chase her down. The cold, crisp air of the night doesn't seem to bother the teen Legend much as he enters the Headquarters in a bustling rush. Hanging over his shoulder, like always, is his guitar strap, but unlike the previous time he'd visited, his tagalong isn't a passenger. "Getting chilly out," he mumbles plainly to absolutely no one. He'd always felt it right to be polite and at least say something once he enters the room, and it'd be completely rude to come in and out without a word. Nevertheless, he's on a mission; and that mission is to find that precious guitar pick. One must learn that they shouldn't get in the way of a musician and their good luck charms.. In his efforts to reach Guin, Keita didn't notice as Dare walked in the door. The result, of course, was that he rammed RIGHT into the older Legend's legs, falling backwards and blinking up at him with a high degree of surprise. "Mrrrr?!"Guinevere giggled and turned around seeing him struggle a little. She forgot he was was yunger than her, but that was ok. She slowed down a little and hid behind the couch leg. Hide and go seek was fun too, and much less tirring than a crawling tag game. Just as she got her self hidden she saw two big legends come in and secretly wondered if they were fluffy, not seeing them that well in her hiding spot, but liking fluffy things very much. Chandra studied Dare from her spot on the wall with a feeling of surprise. He looked different! Feeling a little insecure, she sunk down to sit where she had previously been standing. Would he notice her? He looked preoccupied with something, so Chandra felt safe in staring at him. Momentarily dismissing his troubles - heck, the guitar pick couldn't have gone very far - Dare lets a grin sweep across his face. He crouches down as best he can, the base of the guitar case touching the ground. "Hullo, kiddo!" he laughs gently, messing his fingers through Keita's hair. If he can recall correctly, this little one was quite fond of this sort of action the last time they'd met. "How's a guy doing on this fine night, eh?" From the sounds his ears pick up on, the Legend figures there to be more present in the room. Remaining in the same position by the baby, he attempts to subtly scan the room by looking directly up through his messy red hair for a quick head count. Guinevere, wondering if she was hidden too well and still curious if the bigger legends were fluffy, peaked her little hooded head out from behind the couch leg and scaned the room, trying to look at the bigger ones more closely. Demare crossed his arms over his chest as he began to study the room, seeming to have forgotten where he was. On the floor... The girl that had been wailing that one time, and a boy he didn't recall meeting before. Hmph... tag? How stupid. Scanning a little bit more, he noticed a sleeping child inside of a carrier, looking strangely similar to the boy. Perhaps they were related? No matter, she was sleeping. He'd let her have peace... for now.
His black eye peered out of a narrow slit toward the girl resting against the wall. She was staring at something... Following her gaze, the baby noticed the tall boy searching for something. He looked... oddly familiar, but Demare swore he'd never seen him before. Shaggy brownish hair... Who else had shaggy brown hair? Whatever.EARSCRITCHEEEESssssss twice in one day and from different people!! He leaned into the touch happily, then pulled himself upright using Dare's shirt for support. "Mrrrrr? MRRrrrmrrr?" He queried, the sound having distinct musical tonality this time. One ear flicked at the guitar case..was that where the pretty soundd thing was?Attention caught, Aoshi focused on the newcomer messing with his little brother. He was always suspicious...but it looked like Keita knew him, so it should be okay. Guinevere crawled out from her hiding space and plopped herself on her diapered bum right next to the couch, on the other side of it that Aurora was. "Mrrrr?" She called. Dare takes a puzzled moment before he catches on to the direction in which the baby is cleverly referring to. His eyes dart down to the baby as he manages to pick himself up onto his feet, and a slightly saddened smile crosses his face. "Nay, no, kiddo," he replies solemnly, shaking his head to ensure that his message is clear. "I can't be hanging around long enough to play you anything." Pausing slightly as a thought crosses his mind, he presses his eyebrows down a little. "You've got a raincheck on me, though, for the next time that you catch me." He stands very carefully, keeping a hand out to help keep Keita's balance as he moves on. Once he's sure he can manage on his own, Dare moves to the small table where he'd remembered last seeing his pick. Sure enough, it's there where he left it. Acknowledging Chandra with a respectable nod, he disappears quickly out the front doors where he had entered so recently. Keita, having no clue at all what a raincheck was but saddened that the tall Legend was leaving, blinked mournfully as he left before realizing where he was. Standing?! How did THAT happen?! He fell over onto his bum, a little bit comforted to be on the floor. Since the tall person was gone, he looked about slowly...then continued his happy way to Guin.Aoshi took note of the raincheck offer, eyebrows raised. Nice of him...he'd have to remember to tell Brit he liked that one. Guinevere, seeing Keita come towards her after one of the big legends left scooted quickly behind the couch leg, wondering if Keita has seen her hide. She looked to her left and saw another big legend leaning against the wall. Was she fluffy? Wait a sec...where did Guinnie go?! She was just RIGHT THERE and now she was gone...he searched around the area, peering back at Aoshi for help when he couldn't track her down.Aoshi, however, wasn't helping this time. Let the kid solve is own girl problems xd Guinevere, waiting anxiously for Keita shook her head about, making her hood fall off, and a corner of it sticking out from behind the couch leg. To pass the time and amuse herself, she began opening and closing her fists, starring at them intently. THERE! A THINGY and it looked like GUINNIE'S THINGY and soft too! He raced over to it- as much as any baby can race- and tugged. "Mrrrrrr!!!"Guinevere dropped her hands to her sides in surprise that somethign was pulling on her cape. As she turked around she clapped happily. Keita had found her! "Wheeeeee!" She squealed and gave him lots of ear scritches and snuggles for winning. Aurora, sorry to part the two cute playing Legends, trotted over to their spot behind the couch and took Guinevere's hood in her mouth and put her gently on her back. Guinevere knew exactly what was happening and did NOT want to leave. She began pounding her little fists into aurora's back and tried to wiggle off, but it was hard, because she was strapped in immediately. Knowing her efforts weren't working she gave a weak wave to Keita and began whailing as they left. Demare's eyes twitched a little bit as the other babies squealed and made irritating noises, clenching his teeth as his annoyance only seemed to grow. He wanted to scream... He wanted make them scre--"Demare, you know if you keep glaring like that, your face might get stuck that way," Neko jokingly told her legend, turning her gold eyes toward the halfling. "You don't wanna have a scrunched up face forever, now do you?"Demare loosened up from his tense state, his eyes opening regularly for once. His wings stretched themselves out as he seemed to calm down, blinking a few times as he began to wonder what happened. He'd blacked out again... That was the third time today.Neko stetched out her arms a little bit before standing up, yawning quietly. "Well, let's go home, shall we? There's a gift I need to get finished making before the 15th, and I'm not even nearly done," she smiled, leaning down and picking up the child carefully. With that, the two headed toward the exit and out into the night, in the direction of home.

On December 11, 2004, Neko What a surprise! I went out to check the mail from yesterday (because I was too sick to check it last night), and there was a gift on the doorstep. It's a gift from Aureli and Keita! Demare doesn't seem too interested in the little water bowl at the moment, but perhaps on Christmas day he'll change his mind. When I go out again later, I'll have to see about getting a 'thank you' gift for them. ...My, I really need to get a lot of those. sweatdrop ...Domonic's still asleep... He must have been up late again, working on that other room. CHANCE! Let's see if I can sneak out long enough to pay a visit at headquarters...

] (Cross posted from GMFC journal.)On December 13, 2004, Neko A part of me feels rather pathetic. I've been put under house arrest until Domonic feels I'm "well enough to go outside"... GODS BE DA--I mean, for goodness sake. I'm old enough to know when I'm fine, thank you very much. I'm not a little snot-nosed kid, just asking for my butt to be kicked by my own body. I mean, so I kinda fainted on Thursday and was a bit stranded for a while... I still got home just fine! ...Though, I have been a little sick again. It's getting better, though... I'm not getting sick as often, and my food's staying down lately. However, I did get a dizzy spell last night... I'm fine! Really... I'm just fine... I snuck out on Saturday, though, to get out of the house. No one was paying attention, Domonic was sleeping, and I thought Demare could use the fresh air! Besides... It's started to snow, and you just can't keep a kid inside from the snow. It's not right! So, I snuck out and hide in the Legend headquarters for a while. Demare got to have some fun with Karan, kinda meet little Keita, and I even caught a glimpse of Britain's newborn son. I can't say I caught the name, though... I think it started with an R. After a while I took Demare outside to play in the snow, and I noticed something interesting. He was playing, having a blast making snow angels and tossing loose snow into the air, but at one point he suddenly stopped, looked up at the sky, and simply watched the snow fall. No, that isn't what surprised me. It was the look on his face that made me realize just how little I really know about him. For the first time since he arrived here almost 2 months ago, Demare looked like he was at peace. Both sides of him. And for a single moment, I thought I saw a tear in his little black eye. I tried to sneak back into the house, but I got caught. Domonic wasn't too happy about it, and really let me have it after everyone had gone to sleep. He seems to think I'm not taking this seriously... I don't understand. It's MY body, I know my limitations, so why can't I just be left alone? Though, last night, I think I began to understand why he's so overly worried about all of this. I've been a little too selfish, perhaps. Right now, it's not just me, and this isn't just my body. Right now, I'm sharing my body with another life... Another part of me, and a part of HIM. Why it didn't really click until recently, I have no idea, but it's kinda weird, you know? I've hated being alone for so long, and now here I am, for the next few months, never alone. He's scared. Domi-kun is really scared, and I think he just doesn't want there to be any mistakes. That's normal, right? One thing's for sure, this whole ordeal has really toughened him up, and for once he's growing a backbone. A part of me is actually GLAD that he's taking a stand, but I think he needs to back off just a little bit, you know? There's a reason I'm going out more... Demare needs others more like him. He's been cooped up in this house far too long, and I have a feeling he was cooped up where he originally came from as well. He needs something that Domi-kun and I will never be able to give him just by ourselves; he needs a real friend. He needs a life. He can't learn anything if he doesn't know who he is, or WHAT he is... So I go to the headquarters in hopes of being able to help him figure things out. Domonic says he understands, and I want to believe him, but... Well, I think he's overreacting. Sora and Juubei are actually agreeing with him, though, so I'll give him that... If they're worried, then I really have little choice. I've been good, I've been staying home... but GEEZ! It's so boring here! I asked Sora to take Demare to the headquarters for a bit because Domi-kun's working on that room upstairs still. Since he can't nap there and there's too much noise inside, I figured he could go over there and play. Most of the others are enjoying the outdoors... It's so pretty outside! I want to join them so bad... Demo, I'll be good. I'll stay inside and watch them play in the snow like a good mother. That pretty, fresh snow. The cold white flakes falling from the darkish sky. Piling up on the mailbox, and the dying bushes, and the snowman Koda made. ...Filling up all their footprints... the cute little snow angels... supplying snowballs... I WANNA PLAY, TOO!!

(December 22, 2004; Quest Post)Demare stared up at the white ceiling for a long moment, sleepily blinking his bi-colored eyes as he pondered his surroundings for a moment. It was quiet, save for the soft breathing emitting from a few creatures that slept on the floor near the crib and the few pixapets that decided they wanted to share the baby's bed for the night. He was sleeping a moment ago, wasn't he? Or was he still dreaming even now? Slowly, Demare managed to sit up, his hands grasping onto his deep blue blanket as he yawned. It SEEMED like he was awake, so that must be it, right? He'd just woken up from a dream. Something was different, however, he came it realize. It was a little darker than usual. The moon was shining brightly when he slipped into his dream, and the room had been illuminated with a small nightlight that carried just enough light for Demare to see where he was. Looking around for a moment, he found that the light was gone, and from out the window was only a dull glow from the snow on the ground. There weren't any clouds in the sky tonight, however, and the moon seemed to have just disappeared. What was going on? The small child steadily began to grow afraid, his fingers grasping tighter onto his blanket. Something in the back of his mind began to speak to him. Don't be afraid... it whispered softly, a voice that sounded familiar to Demare. How did he know this voice...? If you get scared, it'll consume you.Consume him...? What would consume him? Was something trying to eat him?? The room slowly grew darker as the boy began to panic. What was happening?? Where was all the light going?! If you get scared, that'll be the end of it! Don't get scared, just brave it!Who was talking to him? WHY were they talking to him? Cautiously, Demare's eyes began to dart around the room, searching for the voice. It was so familiar... but no one was there. The creatures sleeping in the room didn't even seem affected! Was he going crazy? Was he the only one that could see the light fading away? Then, it struck him. He couldn't just SEE the light fading, as his frightened eyes glanced down toward his hands. Tears began to well in the two large orbs, even his darker side beginning to grow worried. The light wasn't just fading from the room. It was fleeing from his body as well, his tiny figure growing darker by the second. He was dreaming... he HAD to be. This was just some sort of terrible nightmare. Don't be afraid... Clare, don't be afraid!Demare's eyes widened even more. Clare...? Who was Clare? And why did that name sound... His thought couldn't even be finished as the shadows swallowed him whole, darkness consuming his body as he fell back into a deep sleep. The room returned to normal, as if nothing had ever happened, the nightlight flickering back on and the moonlight pouring into the room. The truth was, was that nothing DID happen; everything had been silent, nothing had changed... save for one small detail. The deep blue blanket that was once being held by the child fell limply onto the mattress in the crib, the pixapets not even noticing that their source of warmth was now missing.

On December 22, 2004, Neko WHERE THE HELL HAS MY BABY GONE?! It's like he just VANISHED. I asked the pixas if they'd heard or seen anything, and they said it had been a generally quiet night... Demare was whining in his sleep a little bit, but other than that everything had been normal. This doesn't make any sense! There's no sign of someone breaking in, nor of him running away somehow... What the hell am I supposed to do?? It's not like I can search anywhere, since there aren't any clues... Oh God. Why now? Of all times this could have happened, why NOW?! Demare... my little baby... I hope we can find you...

(December 23, 2004; Quest Post)Cold... The only thing he could feel at the moment was cold, and slight pain. What had happened to him? Was he still asleep? ...Were his eyes even open...? Demare slowly opened his bi-colored eyes, his left opening wider than the right. Where was he? How did he get here? That's right... he thought to himself, not even phased by the fact that he was thinking a legitimate thought with completed words. I was having a nightmare. This, however, was far beyond just a dream. His two wings were limp behind him at the baby seemed to just dangle in the air, something grasping the back of his shirt and tugging on the unique metal garment that had always clung to his body. What was that thing, exactly? He himself never really knew, thinking it to be just a decoration to go with his boring clothes. However, something had always prevented him from removing it... Demare's tiny fingers weakly reached up toward his midsection, lightly brushing the curious metal that felt frozen against his touch. Whatever was tugging at the thin leather straps began to tug even harder. Stop it... his mind whispered, the light throbbing on his forehead beginning to hurt more. Don't touch it... Hesitantly, the tugging stopped, but the pain remained. Demare's blurred vision steadily grew clearer as he took in his surroundings, or lack there of. There was literally nothing where he was; on all sides was a darkness so pitch black, that it even sucked out the color of his white wing. It was cold... It was as if the shadows had carried him off into their world of darkness just to torture him. Where am I? he thought, his hand dropping from the item around his waist to hang down in the air again. Why am I here? The air stirred a little bit, indicating that something was indeed there with him. The child stiffened in fright, his white eye growing even larger as he desperately tried to see within the black void he was in. Who's there?! he cried to himself, unable to even open his mouth to attempt speech. Something moved about in the shadows once more, a faint figure slipping past. There was only silence for a moment before something spoke up, the same voice from before. " Don't be frightened..." it said calmly, the figure settling in front of Demare. " I'm not going to hurt you." There was something soothing about the voice, Demare's left eye gradually returning to its normal size. Who are you? he asked in his mind, not knowing that his right eye was still narrowed a little more than usual. " ...That's a little hard to explain," the voice told him, the child moving to float upright. You can... hear me? Demare asked, one eye blinking in confusion. He didn't notice his right side becoming engulfed in the darkness. " Of course I can," the voice said, slowly taking form. " Because, you see..." Demare's eye widened again as the figure "appeared", unable to believe what he was seeing. Impossible! This had to be a trick! In front of him seemed to be his right side, his black eye looking much kinder than it usually did. Of course, he wouldn't know that, but to him this side alone seemed so familiar to him, aside from the fact that it was himself. He could feel a completely separate presence where they were, and it confused him greatly. You're... he thought, unable to finish. " That's right..." the other Demare said into the child's mind. " I'm you."

On December 24, 2004, Neko It's been two days, and there's still no sign of him. I... I don't understand... Where could he be?? It's not normal to just vanish into thin air! Granted, I don't know anything that he might be capable of, but... Demare's never done this before. I was going to try a little dimention hoping to see if maybe something forced him to disappear, but being pregnant is really taking its toll on my magic ability... So I have no choice but to wait it out. There was a gift delivered to him today... something from Karan and DS. DivineSaturn Well, you know me. I can't ever get out of the holiday spirit! I was going to bake cookies for everyone, but my kids talked me out of it (something about too many cavities). Instead, we all went out and found this adorable shop selling the cutest boxes. One thing led to another, and...

We hope you like it, and happy holidays!
~DS and Family
PS- The rest of the gift may be late, but there is more. <3 ...Tomorrow is Christmas. Tomorrow was going to be the first time I've ever gotten to spend Christmas with family. Now, I feel like this is going to be the loneliest Christmas I've ever had...

(December 24, 2004; Quest Post)Who are you really...? Demare thought, the pain on his forehead slowly beginning to ease. You say that you're me... but you seem different. The other Demare's eye closed for a moment, as if thinking carefully about what he wanted to say. " Well, in a way I am different, but because of what happened I'm now you," he decided to put it, furrowing his brow a little. " I know it doesn't make sense, but you have to believe me... You need to remember at least who you are, or the shadows will steal you as well." The shadows will... steal me? he questioned, still not understanding. What do you mean? I... I can accept that you're me, but what is it that I'm supposed to remember? What have I forgotten?" What is your name?" the other boy immediately asked. He opened his black eye slowly, a sense of longing in the dark orb. Demare was quiet for a moment, baffled by why he was asked such a question. Demare, he replied without another thought, tilting his head curiously to the left. The boy's head tilted to the right at the same time, as if Demare were facing a mirror. " What is your name?" he asked again, his eye narrowing slightly. I already told you! Demare complained, folding his arms across his chest, his right merely a shadowy figure. He seemed surprised when the other Demare did the exact same thing. They really were the same... They were even connected. " What is your name?" he asked, growing irritated. " I can't believe you've forgotten your own name! Maybe it was stupid of me to even help you... GEEZ!" Demare's white eye began to water a little bit, not liking the fact that he was upsetting the other. Worse yet, what if his other self disappeared at any moment? What would be do then? He was the only friend he had at the moment... strange as it was, since it was himself. P-please... he thought quietly, looking rather lost and hopeless. Please... don't leave me alone...Those exact words sounded so familiar to him, as if he'd said them before to someone. But who? He'd never tried to actually talk to Neko, and Domonic wasn't one who would leave him without making sure things would be okay. When did he say that, then? It was silent for a long moment before the other child spoke again, his voice a little different from before. It was as if two people were speaking at once, one being that of Demare, and the other a voice an older one; one long since forgotten from an unknown past. " Don't cry," it said. " I won't leave you alone. All that we've got is each other, right? So don't worry about that. If you watch my back, then I'll watch yours." The older voice continued on, a whisper in the darkness. The name's Demian. I normally don't like you angel folk, but heck... you seem all right.Demian...? Demare used to know someone with that name, didn't he? A long time ago... A REALLY long time ago... " My name is Demian," the other Demare said, his tone of voice much different from before. " What is your name?" Demare closed his eye as he thought about the question a little harder, taking in the new information. His other self had a different name? So that must mean that he also had a different name. Those words had come from a memory, he knew, but now that he wanted to remember, it seemed difficult. His name... What was his name...? Don't be afraid... Clare, don't be afraid! He had heard that name right before the shadows had engulfed him in his room. Such a familiar name... Just like Demian. Just like... "Hey! Quit looking at me like that, will ya?!" the boy screamed, gold eyes red with fury. His brown bangs fell over his eyes, but at the moment he didn't seem to care.
"L-looking at you like what?" he replied, his white wings digging themselves further into the large bushes behind his back. It hurt, but he needed to keep them hidden. What if the other boy would ridicule him for running away from Heaven?
The child was still angry, his pale hands tightening into fists. He had to keep his wings hidden! If the other demons found out where he was, then he'd be good as dead. The black leathery wings continued to stay close to his back, beginning to feel strained with being in such an odd position for so long.
"Such innocent eyes..." he said through his teeth, but inside he was growing calm. The boy had seen something, he thought, but now it seemed as if he hadn't done anything. Must be a trick of the humans... "You didn't see nothin', did you? If you did, I swear I'll kill you!"
The boy blinked a few times, his light blue eyes showing nothing more than confusion. Seen something...? He'd simply stared because he'd never seen a human before. Lifting a pale hand to move his brown hair away from his face, he couldn't help but smile a little bit.
"I can assure you that I saw nothing," he finally said. "I was traveling, and it's been a long time since I've seen anyone else around here, so I was surprised was all. By the way, my name is Clare."
The unknown child snorted, snickered, and flat out laughed.
"W-what's so funny...?" Clare asked, baffled by the sudden gesture. Wait... he wasn't laughing at... "HEY! T-that's not funny!!"
"CLARE?!" he screamed, doubling over as he kept on laughing. He completely forgot about hiding his wings as the shot right up, stiff from his laughter. "What kind of a name is THAT?! It's a ******** girl's name!"
"You take that back!" the child cried, also forgetting about his wings as white feathers unburied themselves from the bushes. "I like my name, s-so you take that back!!"
Both of them seemed to freeze as they realized what happened. Oh crap...Demare opened his eye to look at Demian, still rather confused. Was that really his name? Had his other self known this all along? A part of him began to realize why he'd shown up when he did, and he felt a sense of relief for a moment. Demian wanted him to know that he was there... That he existed. For what reason, he wasn't sure, but so long as he knew, somehow he felt a little better. My name is Clare, he thought to himself. Somehow, I get the feeling that it's been a really long time, Demian." Indeed it has," Demian smirked. " Perhaps... a little too long."

(December 25, 2004; Quest Post)Clare began to feel a sense of relief as he tried to convince himself of his name, still not fully understanding all that had happened. So, he was still Demare... He always will be. However, now there would be two sides of him? Each with their own name... How come... you knew about all of this, and I didn't? he asked curiously, his hand moving to lightly grasp onto the trinket around his waist, half of it darkened due to the shadows. You seem to know quite a bit... so why am I the one left in the dark?
"I can't tell you everything right now, because I don't know all of the answers," Demian admitted with a light sigh, closing his eye. He lifted a hand to scratch his forehead a little bit, wincing slightly. "However, I can tell you this. I have a feeling that you forgot everything because of the way you died... You hold no memories of the past whatsoever, but I still can remember things almost crystal clear."
Clare blinked a few times, tilting his head a little bit, Demian's doing the same. The way that I... died? he thought, trying to take in that information. I'm alive right now, aren't I?
"You're very much alive. However, we're reborn... We're almost two completely different souls, but at the same time, we're not. Again, I think it might have something to do with our deaths, or with our past lives."
Past lives... the child echoed, his white eye widening slightly. You mean... you can remember things from when we... died?
Demian winced again, resting his hand on the side of his neck. "Unfortunately, yes," he explained, a black wing curling forward to wrap around his body a little bit. Clare could feel the leathery wing brush against his shoulder, and instinctively brought forward his white wing, allowing it to rest over the demonic one. "I'm the sinner, Clare. You were deemed innocent even after the incident, and you were forgiven. I'm burdened with the memories for now to suffer for what happened..."
For what happened? What incident? Clare asked, a sharp pain pinging at his mind for a moment. Something terrible... Somehow, he knew he'd done something terrible, but for the life of him he didn't know what. The memory... It was there, but at the same time it wasn't. What kind of torture was this?!
"Right now, you don't need to wo--"
Tell me! Demian opened his black eye, not expecting his better half to insist on being told the information. ...Please... I don't see it fair that you have to be the only one knowing everything right now. It... it isn't right.
Demian was quiet for a long moment, watching the other boy seem to change a little bit. That white eye... It was just like the innocent blue ones Clare used to have. Such love and care always showing through... It sickened him. It made his very heart ache, and half the time he even wondered why he ever befriended such a boy. He wanted to know...? A smirk crept onto the child's lips. All right... He'd let him know.
"If I tell you... You must swear that you'll never tell another soul," he offered, unable to help but take pleasure in someone else's pain. He may have been a part of him, but it was too much fun torturing the boy.
Clare had to think about that for a moment. He wanted to know, right? He wanted to know what Demian was talking about so he could believe him. But... what if it was something he really didn't want to know right now? Swallowing hard, the child nodded, wondering if he was really prepared to hear what his darker self had to say.
Excellent... "Remember, you can't tell anyone... Especially if you want to keep those pathetic friends of yours," Demian warned, his smirk fading. Plots already began to run through his mind, planning horrible things to make sure Clare would suffer as much as he had to, physically AND mentally. "You see, back then... we were apparently friends. A lot of things were happening around that time, but something very unexpected occurred during a war between demons and angels. Something our history would never be able to forget."
The suspense was maddening. What had happened?? It was something to do with them, wasn't it?
"Two children ran from their homelands and took sanctuary here. Some years later, an angel had found the children and one was blamed for kidnapping. He was beaten, nearly torn apart, and almost died that day... until the other child, in a rush of fury and rage, outright killed the angel with his own two hands. It wasn't until the deed was done that the boy realized who he'd killed was the one person that was most precious to him: his older brother."
H-how terrible! Clare stammered, fighting back tears. What a horrible story! Who would have done such a thing?
"The worst part," he continued instead, ignoring the question, "was that the child had done it to protect a demon... the angels' greatest enemy at the time."
Demons were... enemies? But Neko was a demon! And she was so kind! There was no way his kind would have hated her. Who did it? Clare asked again, feeling both wings wrap a little tighter around his body. Who did such a horrible thing?!
"You did."
Clare's eye widened, fear overcoming him again. W-what...?
"You killed him. You had killed your brother in order to protect me... and he was the person most precious to you at that time." Splendid... The look on the child's face was a beautiful sight to Demian.
Clare began to shake his head. N-no... NO! You're lying! He couldn't have! He... he would never do such a thing!
Music to his ears. Demian's twisted smirk appeared back on his face, perhaps enjoying this a little too much. The kid deserved it, in his mind... He'd left him alone for months, after all. That's what he got for forgetting everything... For allowing himself to live in the past. That's what he would get for forgetting HIM, who had been Clare's only friend for so many years.
"You think I would lie to you?" he sneered. "After all, I'm now a part of you. Don't you trust yourself?"
But... But... I... I would never... Clare thought, hardly able to think anymore. His brother...? Back then, he'd killed his brother?? The most precious person to him...
His heart began to ache, and his head hurt again. Demian had said he'd done it out of rage... so what if he became angry now? Would he hurt the ones he cared about?? Would he try to hurt his friends...? Or worse yet, what about Neko?
"I told you not to worry about it," Demian shrugged. "However, now that you know..."
Clare looked down at his hand, his eye still large. How in Heaven's name would he face them right now?? What if he tried to hurt them without being angry?? What if... he was actually dangerous...?
W-what should I do...? he finally asked, not even noticing the shadows slowly starting to cover his body. It was like how the waning moon seemed to disappear in its final phases, and Demian only seemed to grow whole.
This couldn't be more perfect. On Demian's forehead, two glowing red slits slowly grew a little larger, like narrow eyes menacingly peering at its prey before it would attack.
"Perhaps I should take over for a little while," Demian said, crossing his arms over his chest. His left one was almost full now, the shadows creeping over Clare's face, his white eye just seeming to glow like the full moon. "You just take a break, and collect yourself. I'll take care of you." I'll take care of everything.
Clare didn't even have time to respond as he was swallowed in darkness one last time, a tear shedding from his white orb just before it disappeared. It seemed Demian was the stronger side of the two personalities, and he felt it was his turn to live for a bit. Having returned to being Demare, he could help but begin to laugh, an evil sound coming from the disguise of a baby. It was HIS time to shine, now, and would he ever shine...

(December 26, 2004; Quest Post)Neko quietly stepped up the carpeted stairs, her hands tightly grasping onto the wooden railing as she gradually grew more and more tired of moving around as the days passed by. Her stomach, swollen as it was, was starting to take its toll on her back as it felt heavier, and weakness wasn't anything she was used to. Her natural strength from being a demon seemed to fade away around the time they found out about the pregnancy, and her magic wasn't as strong at the moment. She figured it had something to do with supporting another life... though right now, her worry was also affecting her greatly. She hadn't slept for three days now, waiting in Demare's room at night in hopes her child would come back. She'd wait, and wait, and wait... until Domonic would come into the room and make her eat or do something else. After a few more steps, the demon hanyou was finally at the top of the stairs, her hand clinging to the rail for support as she breathed heavily. That really shouldn't have been so hard... Pregnant or not. There was a light padding sound behind her before she felt something nuzzle against the small of her back, her tail flicking a little bit with surprise as she turned her head enough to look over her shoulder. Illusion, one of the pards that had hatched from one of the peculiar eggs she'd received, looked up at his mistress with concern, his black wings folded down very close to his back so that he could make his way up the stairs. Neko's gold eyes couldn't take that look of sadness and they teared up a little bit, a delicate hand reaching back to smooth the pard's green and blue fur. "I'm sorry..." she said softly, moving to the side a little bit so that the large cat could stand on level ground. "I guess I'm worrying everyone, aren't I?" The pard simply purred at the touch, nuzzling close to the demon's legs as if to tell her that he could support her. Shifting his head, Illusion very gently rubbed a furry cheek against Neko's belly, wishing nothing more than for the woman to get better and to keep herself healthy. Neko managed to smile a little bit, moving her free hand to rest on her stomach. "I know, Lu... I should rest, right? Maybe I'll do that... At least take a nap or some...thing......." Neko's voice trailed off as a high-pitched noise began to ring through her mind, her ears drawing back as she winced. Lifting her hand from the pard's head, she placed a little pressure on her temple with her fingertips, her back finding the wall to rest upon. What was that sound...? Illusion watched with concern, a questioning look in his eyes as his tail curled a little bit, wondering if he should perhaps leave to retrieve the master. Neko whimpered in pain as she could feel her tan skin slowly begin to burn, black sparks beginning to fade into existence on her flesh as they started to smolder. Dark... magic...? But where was it coming from?? The pard quickly trampled down the stairs to find Domonic as the demon hanyou slowly slipped down the wall toward the ground, the fingers on her temple curling into her fist as she tried to bare the pain. It hurt... BADLY. Did things always change like this when one was pregnant? Her body began to shiver as it ached, waiting for Illusion to come back with help, her other hand grasping tightly onto her shirt. A new sound filled her ears, however, that caused her eyes to widen. Movement. She could hear movement from the backroom where Demare was supposed to be. Could he possibly be...? Neko clenched her teeth, quickly grabbing onto the railing next to her so she could pull herself up. Her body still hurt, the sparks still burning as they continued to appear on her skin, but she just had to see if he was there. Weakly, and slowly, the demon hanyou stumbled toward the room, leaning toward the walls every few steps to keep herself from falling. Once she was close enough, she reached out and grasped the doorknob, the burning onto getting worse. So much dark magic... Could that really be Demare? Leaning against the door, she pressed her cheek and ear against it as she tried to catch her breath, wanting to be sure she wouldn't just collapse. She could hear quick footsteps from downstairs, so she couldn't wait too long, fearing that Domonic would grow angry if he found out her child had the potential to possibly kill her. Swallowing hard, she turned the knob and swung the door open, gold eyes immediately finding cold bi-colored ones near the floor. Indeed, there was Demare, standing far enough from the door for it to swing fully open, his two eyes a narrow glare that just seemed to cry hatred. Neko shivered, grasping onto the doorframe as she stared down at the legend in disbelieve, almost wishing that he was still gone after receiving such a glance. Motherhood took over, however, as tears stung her burns while she dropped to her knees and reached out to pick up the baby. At first, the angel demon didn't seem to mind being held, but something darker was cooking up in his mind. As Neko held him close to her, two small slits on his forehead above his black eye slowly seemed to grow wider, a soft red glow pouring out from the seemingly new holes. Demare's bi-colored eyes returned to their normal size after a moment, a smirk crawling onto his lips as he wrapped his small arms around his guardian's neck and hid his head in the woman's shoulder, his ears picking up the sound of footsteps before Domonic came into view. "Neko, are you all right?!" the tall blonde cried as he quickly knelt down beside his partner, his blue eyes almost not even noticing the tiny child she was cradling. "I-I'll be fine..." Neko stammered, weakly turning her eyes toward him. "J-just... s-some magic l-leaked..." That's right... Demare thought to himself, laughing in his mind. With Clare 'resting', there wasn't anyone at the moment that could prevent him from wrecking havoc. Lie for my sake.Domonic, not wanting to question anything with the demon's current state, let it slide for the moment. "Is there anything I could do?" he asked instead, lifting a hand to brush a little of Neko's red hair away from her face. The markings even spread there...? That was news to him. At least right now they weren't smoking anymore. "D-downstairs... there's a b-book..." she began to explain, closing her eyes for a moment as she tried to think. "T-there's... a specific s-spell... I-it h-heals magic induced b-burns..." He stood, ready to bolt down the stairs once he got the answer to his next question. "The book with cures for certain poisons, right?" Once Neko had nodded, he made haste to the stairs, nearly falling down them as he moved as quickly as he could. Yes... leave her here with me... the child sneered in his mind. The two slits on his forehead seemed to close up as he shifted his arms to release the demon hanyou. Neko sniffled a little bit before she finally pulled Demare back to take a little at him, looking him over for a moment to make sure everything was okay. Well, he LOOKED okay... Nothing seemed to have hurt him while he was gone, though there was something on his face... Nevertheless, she smiled happily as she did her best to ignore the pain, gently placing the child on the ground so he could stand in front of her. "Oh sweety... I m-missed you so m-much..." she tried to say, trying to carefully wipe away her tears. "I-I'm so sorry I didn't f-find you... Y-you must h-have been s-so scared!" Lady, I was anything BUT scared, he told himself, his right eye twitching slightly. He had to keep his face... It was only a miracle that he'd managed to change his smirk into a smile to continue to trick her. Curiosity got the best of her as she gently began to smooth Demare's reddish brown hair. "Honey, what do you have here?" she asked as she carefully brushed away some of his bangs to get a better look at his forehead. To her, they seemed like scars, but the way that they were protruding from his flesh it was a little strange. Just as she was about to brush a finger across the tiny marks, they opened wide to reveal two completely red eyes, one over the other. Neko's gold eyes widened as she gasped, Demare lifting his tiny hands to take hold of her fingers. Betrayal... is the greatest type of revenge... his mind echoed as his smirk returned. His grip tightened a little bit as he moved the woman's hand, calmly nuzzling his cheek against the back of it as his eyes stayed on Neko's face to watch her shock. Now... let's see what your blood tastes like.Without another warning, Demare took the side of Neko's hand into his mouth, and bit down with all of his might. The demon's cry of pain and horror was music to his ears.
