"Do they taste good?" She asks, more interested on their taste rather than their effects.

Malady, on the other hand, stared intensely at Loki and Ka. Though it knew nothing would go wrong, it still couldn't help but wish something would.

"I... can't really say they taste good, but they don't taste bad, either." Loki muttered, edging away, feeling a slight heat rise up in his cheeks.

"How long do the effects last?" Ka murmured calmly, leaning back against the counter as he took a long drink from his teacup.

Paestri pursed her lips in thought, weighing whether or not "they don't taste bad" is any good. She shrugs, deciding it didn't matter after all.

"I dunno, how fast do you usually get hungry?" She responds to Ka, "It's different for everyone, I think it lasts as long as it takes for you to be hungry again. But I'm not sure," She giggles cheerfully.

Malady smirked at Loki's reaction, "Either you do like Madam's work or you don't. Which is it?" It asks, its face extending from its body to stare at Loki.

"...." Loki merely stared at Malady as he narrowed his eyes, then took his goggles off and stared at them. So that's what they were for... intriguing. Perhaps Paestri was of use after all.

And it had nothing to do with his feelings. Nothing at all, of course not.

"I see..." Ka tilted his head, smiling at the two. "I'll leave you two alone, Paestri is free to go home whenever she wishes. If you need me, just call, I'll hear even a whisper." Then, straightening up and setting his cup on the counter, Ka walked out of the kitchen, leaving the 'chilluns' to their own crafts.

"Okay, thank you." The young girl smiled sweetly at Ka. She then noticed how intense Loki was as he started at his goggles. She walks up to him, still smiling warmly.

"What's that?" she asks, poking the goggles.

Malady sneered in return and curled around Paestri's neck, fashioning itself into a scarf.

"Goggles. I just noticed a use for them." Loki murmured softly, giving a shrug and putting them back on his head. "I'll test them out later." Taking a step back out of sheer habit, Loki fidgeted, grimacing at her proximity. "So... what do you wanna do, exactly." It wasn't exactly a question, nor a statement.

"I don't know, the only reason why I'm here is that Linny wanted to talk to you about getting my hair burnt." She shrugs, it was obvious she considered that incident ancient history that should have been long forgotten by now.

"What do you want to do?"

"If anyone's interested in my opinions, I wanna go home." Of course it wouldn't be surprised if it was ignored. It was always ignored.

"Don't we all," Loki muttered, rolling his eyes. "We could go talk to the house ghost. She has some interesting stories." Shoving his hands into his pockets, Loki stalked off around the corner and down the hall to the library. Really, it was like entertaining kids! Of course, the fact that he was a kid himself was easily overlooked.

"You have a ghost in your house? Awesome! I finally get to see one. What's she like? Is she scary like in the stories? Or funny and silly like in those shows?" She chattered excitedly, following close to Loki and linking her arm with his. She didn't bother to keep her voice down, though she did see many of the characters suddenly whispering at the mention of ghosts or spirits. She wondered what it was for, do ghosts have more sensitive hearing than the living?

Loki started at her looping her arm around his, and grit his teeth, forcing himself to keep calm. He wasn't all that keen on touching, and he certainly didn't want to give anyone the wrong impression, as impressive as she was.

"Depends on if she wants to be seen..." He muttered under his breath, pushing open the large door to the room and staring at the huge array of books.

Eye twitching, he looked away, pulling his arm from Paestri. This was where Io had read him that story, much as he didn't want it. And Vavalion... he didn't remember them saying anything about leaving, not that he had listened closely...

A sigh. "This is her favorite spot."

Paestri didn't try to keep her arm linked with Loki, she let him pull away if he wanted to it certainly made no difference to the pink-haired girl. Icing-pink eyes stared at the room, and was oddly reminded of the Study back home, she was half-expecting to find a large Tome somewhere.

"Really? Why? Because of all the books?" She asked, turning to Loki.

"Beats me," Loki murmured, giving a shrug as he took his seat on one of the beanbag chairs, motioning for Paestri to do the same. "I don't know her name, but if she appears, it means she's bored."

"Hellloooooooo~" A voice exclaimed in a sing song voice, and a tall girl with shoulderlength brown hair appeared in front of both of them, twirling in some sort of dance. Her outfit consisted of a rather large and worn tunic, seemingly much too big for her, and stopped just below her knees. It was the color of mud, and from the looks of it, was about ready to throw to the pits.

"Lokeeee, did you come back because you missed- oh! Who are you?" She stopped, floating over to Paestri with her finger on her lips, staring with wide, innocent eyes.

Before Paestri could follow Loki's example, the ghost appeared. She gasped a little in surprise at the spirit's sudden presence, but she waved delightedly in response.

"Hi, I'm Paestri. What's your name?" She asks, extending her hand to the spirit.

"My name is of no importance," The spirit said softly, giving another twirl and not bothering to touch Paestri - all she would do was pass right through. "Paestri is a nice name. You're a baker, aren't you? I can tell." The girl beamed, waving her hand up and down.

Loki merely watched, sulking.

Paestri withdrew her hand and blushed at the spirit's declaration that she was a baker, "Not really, I'm still learning, but I'm pretty good at it for someone who hasn't been taught anything." She beamed, "Loki says you have lots of interesting stories, could you tell us one?"

"Tell her to make a tragic love story," Malady sighed wistfully.
