---Swimming

-Pg. 2075-2080

Xyrie
"Ahn...teh...Keh...khi..." Once again the now adolescent looked up at her grandaunt. Her voice had finally developed into a soft angelic tone. Though words took time to say fluently, so far the only one she had mastered were Daddy and Grandmama.

Keiki
Keiki gave a squeal and nuzzled her grandneice. Even now she was adorable! How could she ever be a spawn of Damis? Keiki led the smaller to the lake that held many memories for her family. Today she was going to teach Xyrie to swim.

India
India yawned, standing and stretching out his back. In strange habit, all three tails flailed wildly as he did so. Blinking to clear the sleep from his eyes, he glanced around. Nothing. With a sigh, he headed for the door. Never in his life had the male spent so much time outside. He was out a good hour or more the other day and now he was going out again. He couldn't figure it out.

Taking a deep breath, he padded off towards the lake from yesterday. He highly doubted his brother and Nixis were still there, but it was worth a shot. Coming up on the water, he noticed a different sibling, though, as well as an unfamiliar teen. "Hey Kitten," he called idly.

Keiki
"Di-nii-kun!" Keiki left Xyrie's side for only a moment just o grab her brother by the ear and drag him back with her. "We get to teach Xyrie how to swim! And you doing it with me because I didn't have an hour long argument with Damis to take her with me today for nothing!" Keiki grinned and turned back to Xyrie, smiling at her too. Another thing she loved about her grandneice was the fact that they both had blue eyes. "This is your granduncle Xyrie. His name is India...but only you, me, and Capili are allowed to call him Di."

Xyrie
Xyrie blinked as she took in the information. Family as well? Accepting the fact she tried out his name. "Ihn...dhi..ah..." Then she remembered 'call him Di.' "Dhi....Di....Di!" She smiled, her ears perking up. It was such an easy thing to say. Though she blinked as she felt the water splash upon her. Orbs the color of the sky widened, that was a big bathtub.

India
Rather than rip his ear resisting, India went along with his sister. So, this was the little grandniece he'd heard about, the one that made even the enegetic Keiki tired. Allowing a small grin to slip to his maw, he sat idly by as Xyrie learned his name. Well, at least his sister would allow her to call him Di, too. One less Kitsu to call out to 'India' in passing. "Swim, huh?" He asked nonchalantly. Moving forward, he dipped a wary paw into the water. "Kinda cold."

Keiki
"Well...yeah. But it's the lake that Daddy and Momma would swim in. And the one Capi learned to swim in. And the I learned to swim in. Xyrie should learn to swim here too!" In her mind that was quite reasonable. Not to mention she held the one thing that wouldn't make things so...cold. She smirked. "Ne...Di...have you seen Capi use her powers?" Keiki remembered vividly how well Capili could control her flames, and how she could warm up the water.

Xyrie
Xyrie blinked. Cold? She didn't think it was. "Grandmama's.....pauh...ahz...?" Grandmama had powers? Grandmama had never shown her! She pouted, she'd ask Grandmama to perform for her and Daddy later. Though...why was Auntie Keiki smirking like that? What did she know? Xyrie turned to look at her uncle. Did he understand?

India
Unfortunately for him, India, as Xyrie, had no idea what his sister was talking about. "Capili has powers?" He asked, canting his head every so slightly. He hadn't know big sister had powers. He felt left out of the loop. Frowning lightly, he dared enough to ask. "What kind of powers?" If it had something to do with the water, could it be that she had some sort of control over the water? That didn't seem to suit their family... But what?

Keiki
Keiki's smirk grew even more. With a flick of her long tails, the dashes along her tails became flames. She held them up proudly. "The same kind that I do. Except it's her swirls that light up. Plus she's a bit better than me."

Xyrie
Xyrie gasped at the display. That was beautiful! Grandmama could do something like that? She'd definately get Auntie Keiki and Grandmama to perform for her and Daddy. Her tails wiggled happily, as trying to ignite themselves. Xyrie smiled, she wondered if she could do that too.

India
India's frown deepened. Show off. As if to save his pride, he shifted his expression to a grin. "Nice lamp, Kitten. But I doubt it could heat the whole lake." Of course, he knew you didn't need to heat the whole lake, just a small part for them to swim. Still, he couldn't help it. Was it only the females in the family that could do that? There was a small part of him that wished he could too.

Keiki
Keiki giggled and let her tails down, the flames disappeared but her dashes remained lightened. Just like how Capi would. She nuzzled her brother. "There might be some magic in you too Di-nii-kun...you just have to unleash it." With that she nudged Xyrie into the shallow part of the lake letting her tails drag and warm the water. Just like her big sis.

Xyrie
Xyrie blinked. The water got warm, it was comfy. Tiny fishlings swam beneath her and she giggled. This was fun! Without a doubt she began to splash in the water. Her giggles filled the air.

India
India huffed, taking the display of affection in stride, as usual. Watching his femme family members make their way into the water, he sighed. Power in him? Somehow he doubted it. Shaking it off, he moved into the water after them. It was warm, that was true enough. Seeing their grandniece splashing around, he almost laughed. "Well, she seems made to do this," he commented, lifting his paws from the bottom and paddling.

Xyrie
Xyrie giggled. She looked at Uncle Di and blinked. Was that swimming? She blinked and bounded toward him. It was so hard to run and jump in the water! She jumped one more time and strained her head up. She copied her Uncle and moved her paws quickly. She opened an eye. She wasn't touch the bottom! Was this swimming?

Keiki
"Yes! That's it Xyrie That's it! You're swimming!" Keiki giggled. So quick a learner. Keiki soon joined her brother and grandneice. Yes, this was nice.

India
"Told you she was made for this," India said, voice laced with slight humor. "Now all you've gotta learn is to swim underwater," he said next, this time his words were directed at Xyrie. Without really explaining anything, the male took a deep breath and pulled his head under. He swam rather gracefully beneath the surface, despite his fluffy tails holding him back a bit. A moment later, he returned to the surface and sucked in a breath of fresh air.

Xyrie
Xyrie blinked. Swim....underwater? The young one paddled over to Keiki and nuzzled the older. She didn't want to swim underwater!

Keiki
Keiki smilled and nosed the darker one. "Now now, don't worry. Di and I are here. We won't let anything happen to you." Keiki herself took a breath and submerged herself, swimming all around Keiki, letting one ear stay out.

India
"It's not that bad," India coaxed, swimming over to them. "It's fun, actually. You get to get all wet." As if to emphesize, he shook his head, sending water droplets flying from his bangs. "You've just gotta keep your eyes closed, hold your breath, and blow out of your nose." He closed his eyes and sucked in a big breath. Then he held that breath and blew out of his nose, his muzzle scrunching with the action. It was a rather comical face, actually. Very un-India-like.

Xyrie
Xyrie giggled. Uncle Di looked silly. Without hesitation, she imitated him. It felt funny, having bubbles come out of her noise. She took her head out and took in the precious air. She looked to her Auntie and nuzzled her. She loved this.

Keiki
Keiki lifted a paw and patted her neice's head. This is what it was all about. She nudged Xyrie into deeper waters paddling along side her. "Don't worry about not being able to feel the bottom at all Xyrie. If we go deeper and go underwater we can see bigger fish."

Tara
Tara wandered outside. It was a nice day and it sounded as if some kitsu were enjoying the lake nearby. Being curious, she headed over and grinned upon seeing her daughter and was that a greatgrand daughter? She was beginning to lose count.

India
India had a proud looked etched across his features. Grinning slightly, he followed stayed where he was for a moment before padding out after them. He wasn't going to miss going deeper. Suddenly, he felt like a kit again, even though he hadn't been very active as a kit, either.

Keiki
Keiki moved deeper underwater. She felt a body near her and knew that Xyrie was nervous about this. She smiled to herself and turned so that she faced Xyrie. With a smile, Keiki did flips and cool other moves for the younger. She seriously wanted to entertain the younger one. Damis coddled the other way too much.

Xyrie
It didn't take long for Xyrie to smile proudly, but just as fast she swam upwards, gasping for breath. Her small lungs couldn't hold air in them for that long. She blinked at the familiar figure on the shore. "Greh...Grandmama!" Her ears perked up quite a bit as she swam towards the shore! She wanted to know if Great-Grandmama could do cool stuff like Auntie Keiki and Grandmama. That and because she wanted to let the older female know that she could finally speak.

Tara
Tara smiled. "Hello Xyrie! Having fun?" She looked out for Keiki. "hello hun, how are things here? Teaching the little one to swim?"

India
India surfaced a short time after Xyrie. He was curious why she was suddenly swimming off to the shore. Narrowing his amber eyes in the direction she was moving, he noticed their mom. Canting his head slightly, he gently padded after the other, but glanced back to see if Keiki was following.

Keiki
Keiki swam to the shore and nuzzled her mother. "I actually got Damis to let her come here with me. I mean..." Keiki began to flush. "This lake has held many memories for our family and she's apart of our family so she should have some too." Keiki nodded to herself.

Xyrie
Xyrie nodded enthusiastically, water flying off. Daddy would be so proud to see her!

Damis
"Of course...that's why I have none them right?" Damis stepped up to his Aunt, using his height to stare down at her. Why did Keiki care so much to keep Xyrie away from him? Because he was a 'bad egg'. Sometimes she even would insult his father! At that point even Capili got involved. Keiki needed a life outside of the family, that was for sure. "Xyrie, I think that's enough for today, let's head home."

Xyrie
Xyrie blinked. Daddy and Auntie never did get along that well. His tone was a bit scary, Daddy was never so serious around her. But she wanted to stay and be with Great-grandmama and Uncle Di more! Slowly, she hid behind one of Great-grandmama's legs, not quite hearing Keiki's growls.

India
India stalked out of the water, wary of the strange new figure that had approached. He had an air of familiarity, as well as a coloration that matched their family. However, he'd never seen an anthro before. It made him slightly nervous. But when the other's family status was confirmed, he almost relaxed, that is, until he heard the tone and his sister's growls.

It was unlike India to get involved, however, he couldn't stand by idly and do nothing. "What are you so sour about?" he asked nonchalantly, amber eyes narrowing slightly. He wouldn't let the other's stature scare him. Besides, though he had not clue of the fact, he was older. It was an elder's responsibility to, well, take responsibility.

Damis
Moss eyes glanced at the other male. Ah, another one. If he remembered what Mother and Keiki said..."Go back to swimming Uncle Di. You wouldn't understand...not living under the same roof and all..." He was a bit bitter. He'd admit that. The family seemed to love Xyrie all the more since she didn't turn out...'bad'. He snarled viciously, his fangs elongated to their fullest.

Perhaps he was being unreasonable, but he got angered far too easily. If one actually asked if whether or not he was loved enough as a child would get their arm twisted off. "Let's go Xyrie."

Keiki
"Damis! Enough of that!" Keiki's flames returned full force. Oh hell would she fight him. Her mind was also full of hatred. How she despised him. Just like his father! His father who hurts her sister! All that his father had done...even if he hadn't known! And this one was just like him! Such dirt in their family! They shouldn't be apart of it, and she wouldn't let Xyrie become like that either.

Xyrie
Xyrie shrunk. Why was Daddy so scary? "Daddy...what's...wrong?" Slowly she stepped closer to him and nuzzled his leg, trying to calm him down. She could always calm him down, why didn't this time work?

India
Whether it was the adrenaline of the moment or actually courage, it was hard to tell, but India refused to back down in the face of the other's anger. He kept his voice calm and as normal as possible. "No, I guess I wouldn't understand. But just because you feel that way, doesn't mean you have the right to take it out on family. How can we possibly understand unless you tell us, anyway." Throughout the whole thing, his tone remained flat.

But then, apon hearing Keiki's comment and seeing her fire, cold eyes snapped to view her. "Knock it off, Kitten!" he snapped at her, tone raising just enough to show he was serious. Her anger wouldn't help matters.

Keiki
"Shut up Di! I'm tired of this dirt ruining my family!" With that Keiki rushed forward, getting Xyrie out of the way before she turned back upon her target. This was no damn play. She leapt at the taller one, her intent deadly.

Damis
Damis turned and growled, his eyes growing much darker. He whipped around and smashed his fist into her shoulder, watching as she fell. Without hesitation he went in for the kill.

Xyrie
"Daddy! Daddy stop!" Xyrie's body shook. Why was Daddy and Auntie like this. Why? She didn't know what was going on, she didn't know that her body was moving. But what she did know was that there were sharp things... in her face. "Daddy......." Her voice was soft...quivering...tears were streaming down her face. All her mind could say was...Why?

Damis
His body registered it before he did. He stopped, just barely. Xyrie...he almost hurt Xyrie. He looked at himself, shocked, his fangs...gods...gods...gods....No! He held Xyrie close as he ran off. Home. Away from all of this. Soon his body disappeared, leaving Keiki where her body lay.

India
India was shocked at her actions. Never had he seen his happy-go-lucky sister like this! And before he even had a chance to do anything, she was on the ground. Amber eyes widened as he moved to her side, just in time to see Damis stop before Xyrie. He kept his body over his fallen sister's just in case, but was extremely releaved as the other male left. Sighing, he flopped down heavily next to his kin, gently nuzzling her neck. "I told you, Kitten..." he whispered, voice cracking.

Tara
Tara sighed, having not been able to get involved in a fight between members of her family. She was disappointed in both of them for fighting in front of the kids like that, and for nearly injuring one of the young. First she went to check on Keiki, making sure that her daughter was alive and healing.

-Pg. 2082-2088

Keiki
Pain coursed through Keiki's body. Slowly her cyan eyes opened a slight crack just before they closed, the full extent of the pain upon her. Damn. That Damis. She didn't think she could really move it. If it was broken....damning hell.

India
Sensing movement, India's amber eyes snapped open. He'd been at his sister's side since the incident. Strangely enough, he hadn't slept a wink, either. Pushing himself up, he moved over to her, scanning her form as she tried to rise. "Stay still, Kitten. You'll just hurt yourself more..." he said softly. Still, he couldn't drop the feeling that she'd brought this upon herself. No matter how much he now despised his nephew for hurting his beloved sister, she had been the one who attacked first. If only she'd listened...

Keiki
Keiki growled at the thought of the kit who injured her. "Where is that mother -bleeping- bas..ta.aaah.." Her shoulder let itself known. Damn that hurt! She cursed him over and over again. her breathing was harsh from her anger, but began to cool. Her mind knew that she was couldn't do anything like this.

Nassor
Nassor knew something was wrong when niether Damis, Xyrie, or Keiki had returned. Steel eyes widened, frightened. Why was his daughter sprawled out like that. He blinked at her words. He had the situation figured out clearly. His Keiki could never think straight, and after loosing so many times already she should've learned. He walked to her, trying not to rush towards her. "Your brother's right, stay still little one." He lifted his paw and watched as the badage duplicates wrapped themselves firmly around her leg and shoulder. "It's probably best that you stay here from now on Keiki. This is your home, and the Mountain is Damis'. I don't want to see you two fight like enemies anymore, you two are family. And you both disappoint me." Nassor stood and walked steadily to the shore. He knew he sounded harsh but in his age he couldn't handle so much stress.

Capili
Capili followed after her father. Her heartached to see her sister like this, but it ached more knowing that her son needed her more. Without a second thought she rushed into the woods, knowing that the darkness would be his comfort. She didn't need her nose to find him, just her heart. She stopped, panting. There. She smiled a bit. His family was there. She knew that Rune could handle Damis, so slowly she made her way to her granddaughters and petted them both. A motherly smile came upon her as she wipped away her darker grandaughter's tears.

India
Despite the care there father had just given, India was worried. Knowing Keiki, she would attempt to move later, whether it was prompted by boredom or some need to avenge herself. Sighing, he nuzzled her neck gently. "Please, be more careful. You are... very important to me." It was true. His sister was his best friend.

Turning from her, he stepped after their father. A look of age sat on his face, one that was far too much for him. "Father..." he whispered, reaching the elder's side and staring down at their reflections. "I... I don't understand." Never before had the Kitsu with all the answers felt so confused. "Father... why?" An unfamiliar wetness stung at his eyes.

Tara
Tara wandered in yet again, watching Nassor try to sooth India and explain things to him. "I'll let you handle this dear... I'll see what I can do about Damis... Like he'll listen to me. But I should try at the very least."

She headed over to where she could hear a conversation going on with Damis. She wanted to help out with her daughter, but she wanted to see if she could do anything on the other side of the family tree at the same time. Worried for Xyrie, she looked toward Capili. "how's she doing?"

Tarik
Tarik looked both ways that the family had gone. Not knowing which way to head, he just sat down and listened to the conversations at the moment.

Nassor
Nassor turned to his son, with kind warm eyes. "Do you really want to know? To think that our family has such...hatred...isn't something that a member can't take too well." But when he saw his son like this, he knew that there was no backing out.

"It starts with myself and a friend. His name is Severus. At the beginning, we both hated each other. But when Capili and Chaos were born, they fell in love from the time that they were kits. We had no choice but to end our hatred." He paused, eyes becoming cloudy as he remembered days when his daughter smiled, laughed and had no care in the world.

"But Chaos inherited his mother's bloodlust. It required him to drink the blood of those who weren't Kitsusagis. Capili learned to not mind, she loved him anyway. Even when his bloodlust made him turn against her. When Chaos was under that, he was almost unbeatable...only a Nitemare could hold him. And even then that Nitemare would sustain injuries." Remembering that part hurt, Capili would always feel powerless when it happened. At that time she was his only daughter, but she was strong and carried on for him.

"And now Damis has inherited the bloodlust as well. But with Chaos not here, he has no one to turn to to control it. Especially since the bloodlust only appeared as he became an adult. He hasn't had time to learn about it for himself. All he has is Capili, who only understands the most of it. She can't help him control the side affects. That being his sexual lust and anger. You saw his fangs right? That's proof that he's beserk. His strength unimaginable. And if it wasn't for his deep love for Xyrie, he wold've of kill her...and Keiki. Then would've gone after you."

Nassor looked back to his younger daughter, sadly. "Chaos hasn't appeared in a long while. Capili...isn't as happy as she was. Keiki loves Capili with all her heart...that's why she hates Damis so. Because he's so much like his father...it's not his fault. He's only reacting to her..." Nassor bowed his head. It was a painful tale. He rather not let the whole family know, but they'd find out sooner or later. About the heartache they all held.

Keiki
Keiki allowed slow tears to erupt from her eyes. She could barely hear him. She was ashamed of herself, but this hatred already had deep roots. And untl she saw her sister really happy she wouldn't back down! 'You are...very important to me.' She sighed and silently said sorry towards her brother. She could never be careful towards Damis. Or nice.

India
An intent ear was directed at the entire explaination. It was shocking, definitly not what he expected. But then again, how could anyone expect something like this. For a long while, he couldn't think of a way to react. He felt strangely empty, as if the whole thing really didn't have an affect on him at all. "I never..." he finally started, "I never thought our family held such... characters." He admitted, not really adverse to letting his father know he, to put it bluntly, never though there family could be so weird.

Sighing, the young male looked out across the lake. It was hard for him to handle, but he found he could do nothing but accept the facts. He couldn't change his family. They were who they were. Unlike his sister, he held no harsh grudge against them, besides the one against Damis, but only for attacking Keiki. Turning to looking back at his sister, it was then he noticed Tarik. For a moment, he stared at his brother, not sure what to say. Did the snow Kitsu know about all this? He didn't know what to do.

Nassor
Nassor smiled weakly and put a paw on his son's shoulder. "It's alright to say it India. Everyone else already does. Our family...is plain old...weird." He chuckled a bit and nuzzled his kin. It was a lot to take at one time. But he knew that this one would be here with Keiki. He trusted his son with his life. "Keiki is to stay here. Not just until she heals...but until she gets over the fact that Chaos can't be here...and Damis is not to blame. That may be forever. Xyrie and Capili will probably visit you two." He sighed his ever classic sigh and turned to his son fully. "I'm sorry to have to push this onto you so suddenly. But...it is for the better. I trust you my son."

Keiki
Keiki's eyes widened. Stay here? Permanently? Without seeing Capili and Xyrie everyday. "No! You can't leave me here. Even if this is my first home you can't! You can't!" She cried out towards her father, and flailed madly. She didn't want to be without her sister! he loving smart adorable sister!

Tarik
Tarik flicked an ear. "Our family is very weird, considering my brother doesn't seem to really like anyone. I take it in stride, though I can't imagine how it is to be hated... Being indifferent about everyone is one thing, flat out hate is another."

India
"Yeah, weird..." India let out quietly, almost laughing, but not quite. For a moment longer he stared at his fluffy brother. Probably his second closest kin. A slight smile showed itself. Turning back to the water, he watched his reflection waiver a bit with a breeze. He'd relaxed, that is, until he heard Keiki's outburst. He wouldn't betray his father's trust, no matter how much it hurt knowing he would have to keep his free spirited sister caged.

"No Kitten," he said sternly, rising and moving back to her side. "You will listen to me this time. Now, I don't like this anymore than you, but I won't allow you to talk back to Father. He gave us life. You owe him." For a second, he looked to Tarik, as if for support. Leaning forward, he nuzzled his sister. "Please. Don't make this any harder..."

Tarik
Tarik blinked and looked to Keiki. "You're quite the handful you know that? Sis, I love you dearly but if you keep on the path you're on, you or another of our family is likely to end up dead... I don't want that. So could you work on your approach to things?"

Nassor
Nassor sighed as he felt his son take over. He could feel the burden shifting from him to his son. He hated having to do this. He really did. But something had to be done about those two. And now that Keiki was here, there was no one to babysit Xyrie while Capili and Damis were away. That left him with her. Nassor bit his lip knowing that this might keep him from seeing his love even more. He hated that thought even more. He missed her enough, but even more so...he didn't want to do this. Damn be forced to do something like this!

Keiki
Keiki looked up at her brother. "Why...why are you betraying me like this?" Tears reformed and flowed from her eyes. Even India! Would Tarik do this too? She knew she owed him she did. But he said that family was most important, so why was she being sent away? Why not Damis! Why? She was good...she was good...

India
Seeing the tears, India felt his own forming again. For the first time in his life, he truly cried. He felt so weak. "Father and Tarik are right. Sometimes others know what it better for you." He stated simply, though his words were horribly cut with sobs. He was supposed to be the strong one here, but he wasn't. "You can't blame Damis and Chaos for this," he choked out, hating to disagree so much with her, but knowing there was no other way. "You have only yourself to blame. However..." Shutting his eyes, he willed away the tears. When the amber orbs were visible again, they held no expression. "If you must shift the blame, shift it to me." He would handle his sister's burden, if she couldn't. He loved her that much.

Tarik
Tarik raised a brow. "I didn't say that what Damis did was right! Don't misunderstand me and make this another fight when it doesn't need to be." He bristled a bit. Now he knew why Damis had blown up and attacked. "It may not have been your fault, but you could have prevented it by not taking such offense to what was going on."

Nassor
Nassor turned and watched his sons handle Keiki. Lords he was thankful for them. He knew his daughter would be heartbroken. Damn! None of them were to blame. If only...in only he had done something about this before. Before the hatred had become a tree with deep roots. How could he let this happen?

Keiki
Keiki looked between her two brothers. All that went through her mind was how much it hurt...that he family was leaving her for him. Oh how she wanted to just get up and run away. Away from all this. But Damis had done a good job of keeping her rooted here. her ears took in their words but those words had to fight like a wounded dear through a crowd of bears to get through to her. But she twisted her head back...blame...India..."Never...it'll never be your fault....it'll never...be your guy's fault..." It would never be theirs...but what about hers? She didn't know....she didn't know! The tears flowed faster as she turned her head towards the ground as far she should could. She didn't want to see this! She didn't want to hear this!

Tarik
"aya... Keiki." Tarik felt his ears droop. That wasn't his intention to make his sister cry harder, he wanted to make her feel better that it wasn't her fault but that she could handle things better. He probably should have told her later... Laying down beside her, he nuzzled her neck. "I'm sorry... We're not going to leave you while you have to stay here, don't worry."

India
India could see his sister's internal struggle. Truthfully, he was almost sad she hadn't chosen to pass the blame, though it knew it would've been the wrong thing to do. However, he didn't want her to suffer so much. "Tarik's right." He affirmed. "We'll always be here." Allowing his gaze to pass over his two laying siblings, he sighed. Whether he was thinking too highly of himself or not, he suddenly felt like their guardian. Turning his gaze off, he whispered. "Don't waste your time on hate..." He wasn't sure it was actually possible to hear his quiet words.

Tarik
"Yeah, what India said. hate sucks. You could be doing so much better with your time you take when you hate someone, besides, when you don't hate, you can hang out with Xyrie. That's a good thing right?" Tarik suggested.

Keiki
That...was true...if she got over it...she wouldn't be stuck here. She wouldn't have to live without her sister! She turned towards her fluffier brother...then her Di. Tears were flowing again, but with a smile. Okay...she got this. "You'll help me...ne? You won't...leave me alone?" Her lip quivered. She didn't want to be alone, she really didn't want to be alone. Even more so, without her sister and neice.

Nassor
Nassor sighed. Finally. Lords yes finally. He wanted this over with! Remove that dark cloud that loomed over their home! He stayed where he was, knowing that he sons could handle her. Slowly he looked up, steel connecting with blue. Slowly he stepped into the water. This was a very special lake to his family, and right now, he needed a swim.

Tarik
"Of course we won't!" Tarik said, looking shocked. "We're family, of course. Don't be so silly. Now let's rest and get a bit more calm before sleep. Ne?"

India
"We wouldn't." India also assured, his voice firm. A light smile settled on his maw as he turned to view their father. Watching his form move deeper into the water, his mind wandered. Well, he sure had grown up from his kit days. Back then, he wasn't even sure he was cut out for his family thing. "Thank you, Father," he whispered, amber gaze narrowing softly. Shutting his eyes, he stood there for a moment, pondering taking up his brother's advice. A bit of calm and sleep would be good. He hadn't gotten much lately.

Keiki
Keiki smiled feeling back to original self. And she decided to do something that she did very well. Out of no where, she whipped out a bowl of fruits. Of course, this was one had only small bits and chopped bits. She smirked at her brother. No downing large amounts of banana in a boyish way for him. Without a words she aimed for a strawberry and purr coming from her.

Nassor
Nassor swam to the middle of the lake and floated. Just floated. And soon...his floating body fell into the traps of the dread sleepy gene!

Tarik
Tarik blinked and stood up backing up some. "Keiki...." he said softly, warningly. He was ready for a nap himself, now she wanted to play? He'd be game any other time.

India
India's eyes opened at the smell of food. He was hungry... but... A frown knit his brow. He glowered at his sister, almost pouting. Fine. He would go along with it. But next time the bowl came out, he would be hard pressed to forgive the lack of bananas. Huffing, also beginning to revert back to his normal self, he grabbed a few chunks of cantalope, downing them all in a few bites. Then he turned to look at there father for a moment. A confused look shown in his eyes. Father wasn't planning on sleeping in the water, was he? He'd sink.

Keiki
Keiki giggled at her silly brother and Father. She knew her Daddy was okay. Once Capi and herself stuck him in a tub for a whole night and didn't sink. But he did get a cold. Just to spite her brother, she took one of the hidden slices of banana. Oh yeah. She looked to her fluffier brother and stuck her tongue out at him. "Curse you sleepy gene..."

India
India returned his gaze to the food just in time to see his sister's trick. He scowled at the slice. "How dare you keep that from me," he said, mock seriousness ringing in his voice. Nosing into the bowl, he looked for his own slice, but couldn't find one. An annoyed but curious eyebrow shot up. Grumbling, he grabbed some more cantalope. Munching on the wet fruit, he pondered her words. It almost made him laugh. He figured he'd be asleep by now, too.

Keiki
Though the next thing her brother would hear from her that night was the plunking of many fruits and one brown head in a bowl. Yes...Keiki had fallen asleep...in the fruit bowl.

India
India sighed, shaking his head and moving his sister's head out of the bowl. It felt strange, now he was the only one awake. Glancing around, he shifted from paw to paw. Finally, he just laid down and forced himself to sleep. He hated sleeping outside, but he supposed he could make an exception just this once.

---Staring

-Pg. 2096-2098

India
India yawned, his eyes opening, though rather reluctantly. The breath of fresh air that attacked his lungs was unwelcomed, however. He'd forgotten that he'd fallen asleep outside. Mumbling, he pushed himself up and glanced over to his still sleeping siblings. Never again, he decided. He couldn't sleep outside again. Standing, he stretched and glanced around.

Stealth
Stealth had been watching some sleeping kitsu for a short while now. She was a bit surprised the moment one woke up, if it had not been for that she would have tought they were all dead. She came out from the shadows under a tree until she was fully visible. Facing the other she sat down in complete silence.

India
At first, India tried to ignore the presence, not thinking she wanted anything to do with him. But, despite the fact that he enjoyed silence, he felt awkward with someone staring. "Do you need something?" he asked dryly, amber eyes snapping to view the femme. "Or are you just going to sit there?"

Stealth
"I need nothing, and yes I was thinking of just sitting here". For a while she had been relieved they were alive, but his words made her wish he had been, in fact, dead. "Does it bother you that I'm here? I saw your name nowhere on the place, so I see not why it should". What was he thinking? Did he not know who he was messing with, was not her pelt color obvious enough?

India
Raising a brow, India canted his head slightly. "Not that it bothers me, just that I can't see what could possibly be so interesting." He turned from her, trying to ignore her once again. It seemed, just from the little conversation they'd already held, they might not get along too well. Normally, the male wasn't so snippy, but sleeping outside had put him in a mood. Glancing back to her, his eyes narrowed. "Do you enjoy sitting within someone's company for no reason?"

Stealth
"Well there's nothing that is specially interesting here" she ansewered back to first statemente. She was still glancing at him from her spot, moving her tails from side to side every so often. The other kitsu was terribly rude in her opinion, they hadn't even formally met and he had talked to her in such a mean manner. It wasn't that she liked sitting there with no reason, she just liked knowing there were others nearby. "Maybe I do and maybe I don't. Do you often sleep outside? There's some grass stuck in your pelt." . She said, knowing full well she couldn't stand her own hair being dirty.

India
"No, not usually," he admitted in answer. Acting nonchalant, he brushed at the grass after he'd located the bit she'd spoken of. "I'm sorry I'm not more interesting for you," he then offered, but his voice was flat, so it was difficult to tell whether he was serious or joking. With a sigh, he turned back to her, realizing that he couldn't just walk away. Sitting back on his haunches, he watched her for a moment.

Stealth
"I never said you were not interesting" she answered back. Upon watching him turn and sit facing her she smiled. "Should we do a staring contest? though I see no point seeing as I seem better at it" . This wan't getting anywhere in her opinion, but he was what? the first kitsu she saw in ages?... yes he was, and she was quite amused with the grass sleeping.

India
"I'm sure you'd win," India said, slightly mocking. But in truth, he doubted he would win. Huffing lightly, he smiled as well. "I'm gonna head inside..." For a moment, he glanced back to his sleeping siblings. He didn't really want to leave them, but he couldn't stand it out here much longer. "Nice to meet you, mm..." He chuckled softly. "I'm India." With that said, he stalked off.

Stealth
"Nice meeting you India" she replied quietly.

---Sleeping

-Pg. 2169-2171

Remus & Chroma
One would not know by watching the colorful kitsu run circles around the stoic wizard that her mood had been shifting up & down without any pattern or warning for days on end now. In the center of his lively sister's rings of movement Remus sighed. For the love of all things Holy let her see India tonight or I'm likely to lose it! Remus himself was in a sad state. He had gone back & forth over his conversation with Ember the other night & still could not see where he had gone wrong & managed to upset the other kitsu. He sighed again. He had even forgotten to give him the new book to borrow.

The scholarly wizard had taken to carrying the map he had mentioned to Ember just in case they crossed paths. Perhaps that would set it right.

"Rem-y!" Chroma whined from ahead of him. "Come on!! We're nearly there!" With a flick of her yellow & red tails she dashed through the doorway.

Following her at an only slightly faster pace then before, Remus corrected his little sister... again. "Remus."

Waiting for him on the other side of the door Chroma laughed.

India
India yawned, stretching and rolling over onto his back. Another night of nothing. Fun. Allowing his legs to swim through the air for a while, he sighed. After everything that had happened, he had come to expect action. Sadly, there had been none. The male's legs flopped back down and he lay on his side, eyes tightly shut until he happened to hear a familiar laugh. Cracking an eye, he was suddenly excited to see the femme. "Chroma!" he called out, despite himself, all black tail flicking.

Remus & Chroma
Chroma's whole being lit up. Even Remus had to smile. "India!" She practically screamed in happiness, spinning around so she could see him. In fluid motion as her spin brought her to face him Chroma sprinted at him in an action that would likely plow India to the ground if she could not cease her momentum in time. Too bad she rarely thought that far ahead. In fact, the only thought in her head was to simply get to him.

Chuckling to himself, Remus found himself standing still with head tilted to the heavens & eyes lightly closed. Thank God.

India
Though he too was rather happy, the sight of her speeding towards him with no obvious intention to stop caused his eyes to widen. Claws scraped at the ground as he attempted to escape, however, with her speed, it seemed futile. India could feel the wind being knocked out of him as she hit his form. Unluckily for him, he had only enough time to make his entire side a target before she'd reached him. Falling to the floor with a loud huff, he sighed. "Nice to see you, too..." he breathed out.

Chroma
Chroma was too excited to notice that she might have hurt the object of her affections. Not that she understood that either. "India! How've you been? What'cha been doing? Was it fun? How's your sister? Didja miss me?" Then noting he was somewhat out of breath she paused, her head cocking to the side with some confusion. Concern filled her eyes & words. "India... are you okay?"

India
It took him a minute, but India was able to process each question. Really, he wasn't sure if she expected an answer to each one, but what they heck. It'd been a while, right? Turning to face her (as best as possible) he cleared his throat. "I've been okay, I guess, but better. I learned stuff about my family. No, it really wasn't that much fun. Kitten... er... Keiki was on 'bed rest' last time I saw her. Injuries. And yes, I missed you a lot, actually." That last sentance was kind of hushed. He hoped the news of his sister would catch her attention instead. "And I'm fine, but you could get off," he suggested, though he couldn't hold back the thought that it wasn't necessary to do so.

Chroma
Chroma nodded as India spoke, actually listening for a change. Only time would tell if retention took. She jolted at the news of his sister. "Injured? How did Keiki get injured?" She was thinking of her ball-playmate & could not comprehend how playing ball might lead to injuries. That he missed her sent a happy tingle through her body... almost enough for her to become less worried about her other playmate & certainly enough to focus in on India's next words. At his request she did back off sheepishly, though she kept close enough to nuzzle into his neck while he righted himself. "I'm glad you're okay... you'll tell me if anywhere hurts?"

India
India pushed himself up slowly, taking the display of affection in stride as he always did, though an unfamiliar sensation arose from her touch. Trying to shake it off, he sighed. "I'd rather not talk about it," he said in answer to her first question. They were family matters. But even more so, he knew his sister would be angry if he told someone else she'd been beaten by Damis. Before he could really think about it, he found himself returning her nuzzle. "I'm fine, though, nothing broken." In one fluid movement, he was on his paws, as if merely to support his statement. He turned to her and smiled lightly.

Chroma
It did not take much for Chroma to let the topic of Keiki's injuries drop. She was much more interested in India anyway; especially when he nuzzled her in return. Her smile lit up her face watching him fluidly get up, proving how okay he was. Chroma rubbed against him happily -much like cats would wind themselves around ankles. "I'm glad." She practically purred, just happy. Her body was alight with a strange tingle & she liked it. "I know you're not big on games normally... but would you like to do something?"

As she spoke Chroma continued to rub against India (unless he tried to stop her) not really knowing what she was doing or why but not caring to stop.

India
As with they're last meeting, India's body stiffened with so much contact. But he willed himself to relax. As hard as it was, he eventually calmed. Breathing out deeply, he directed his gaze to her even as he moved away from her affection. "I suppose if you would like to do something," he drawled, a grin finding its place at his maw. This time, he took a deep breath and moved back to her, offering much more of an affectionate nuzzle than he'd ever had, even to a family member. "Then I would have to comply."

Chroma
She shivered happily, feeling India's breath in her fur as he spoke. Her tails flicked eagerly. "You don't have to comply... only if you want to..." Suddenly Chroma giggled, completely at a loss in her strange & wonderful feelings. "You should pick! You choose what we do! You know I'll do it!"

Chroma was excited & happy. Her body was sending her so many signals she felt like she was a mass of electricity. Between denial & naivety she would never understand what she was feeling. Silly thing.

India
Well, that kinda got him out of having to actually be active. Still, it felt weird having someone say they would do whatever he wanted. Maybe even more so because the words came from Chroma's maw. It made him shiver, no matter how much he hated it. This was like last time, too! Where did this gutter mind come from?

Shaking his head, he slipped back to the idea he'd had when she first said he should choose. "I choose..." he drew it out for a moment, merely to be dramtic. "Sleep." Nipping at the femme's fluff, he invited her to join him as he flopped over. Yawning, he stretched his legs out fully then, where he would normally curl tightly around himself to block any disturbances, he stayed stretched, leaving room for her.

Chroma
Chroma giggled both at the n** & the totally typical India response. Of course he wanted to sleep. Surprisingly, she did not seem to mind; being fully content to find a place by his side to snuggle into. She sighed happily, letting her eyes drift shut. "Okay... we'll do things your way." Turning her head slightly Chroma gently licked his muzzle. A mischievous glimmer touched her half-lidded eyes. "This time. I expect you to come up with something a bit more active next time though!"

---Ticklish

-Pg. 2176-2180

Chroma
Chroma stirred beside India, completely relaxed but wondering at the laughter in her brother's voice. Remus' voice seemed far away. Her furry pillow was warm & moved slightly beneath her head. She giggled, remembering. India. "hey, sleepyhead... " she whispered with a laugh.

India
For the Kitsu who slept so much, even now he was unwilling to move. Grumbling slightly, an annoyed amber eye was visible beneath the lid. "Mornin' already?" he scoffed, stretching out his back legs slightly, though he was careful not to kick the femme beside him. A whiny yawn escaped his maw before he could stifle it. Huffing, he lifted his head from the ground, only to have it flop back down moments later. "Mmm... just five more minutes..."

Chroma
"okay sleepyhead." Chroma answered laughing, then licked him on the nose. "But then you've got to come up with what you wanna do that isn't sleeping!" Snuggling deeper into India side her inner laughter rumbled across her body. Chroma wondered what game her friend would chose.

Tarik
Tarik wandered in from outside, for once clean and dry. He was just a little poofier than normal. Darn the humidity levels outside these days. Looking around for someone to talk to, he noticed his brother. But beside him, was some femme.

"well well... does someone have a companion all of a sudden?" Tarik asked softly, smiling in understanding. He was pretty sure that his sister was right about him, and that Nixis was possibly thinking the same things he was but he wasn't positive.

India
"Right, right. Not sleeping." For a moment, India debated returning to sleep and hoping the other would be too kind-hearted to wake him. Ah, he was a sly one. That plan fell through, though, as soon as he heard his brother's voice. His eyes shot open and he tried to sit up, however, he was still very trapt under Chroma. "Yeah, whatever you say, Tarik..." the male drawled out nonchalantly, even as he was unable to view his fluffy brother.

Tarik
"I'm just curious, if it's not so then that's alright too. I didn't like when Keiki said things like that, so if you're just friends that's fine." Tarik wandered around them so that he could be in his brother's eye sight.

Chroma
"Hmmm? Tarik?" Chroma cocked her head at India in confusion. What kind of a game was Tarik? Then she remembered the voice & realized the new male had been speaking to them. Impishly, she rolled onto her back, letting her legs dangle in the air. Looking up at the large male she grinned. "Oh! Hello! I'm Chroma! Are you a friend of India's?"

India
India fluffed himself out and rose to a sit as he was given room. Ducking his head at his brother's words he mumbled around in search of a responce. "It's not that I... I just... it's..." Scoffing at himself, he trailed off. Besides, Chroma still happened to be right there. He couldn't really say anything... Sighing, he eyed the femme deciding to just let Tarik answer the question. It had been directed towards the other male, anyway.

Tarik
"Actually, I'm his brother." Tarik said, smiling. "I know we look really different, but we're siblings. Our mom is over there, resting."

Tara
Tara lifted her head and looked over, blinking.

Chroma
Chroma blinked innocently. "Oh! I didn't know he had more siblings than Keiki!" She exclaimed, taking a short look at their mother. The only mother she knew was her human. Grinning Chroma rolled to face India & nipped him teasingly behind the ear. "Hey! No using family to get out of coming up with something fun to do!"

India
India's ear twitched and tried to slide back, as if protecting the spot that'd been nipped. "Alright. Uh." He glanced at their mother, then to Tarik, and back to Chroma as he thought. The male wasn't the best at coming up with games rather than his favorite "game" of sleeping. "Aw, I dunno..." he canted his head to glance at the ceiling.

Chroma
Chroma pouted, then nipped his ear playfully. 'Aw, I dunno' did not sound like a fun pastime to her. "Do you just not want to get up? Then she giggled, an impish gleam coming to her eyes. "If you don't pick something you want to do... then I get to pick!" She giggled into his ear, knowing already what she was going to do.

"I'll be nice... you won't have to get up for my game!"

Tarik
Tarik grinned. "India likes to sleep That's his favorite game or past time. Father sleeps all the time too."

India
"Is that so?" India questioned. Amber eyes narrowed as he glanced at her from the corner of his eye. The look was rather untrusting. Just what was she planning? Still watching her warily, he seemed to move closer to Tarik, as if seeking protection from his fluff brother. "What do you have in mind, might I ask, Chroma?" He tried sounding relaxed.

Chroma
Chroma blinked, turning her head briefly to Tarik. She had momentarily forgotten India's brother was there & flushed with embarrassment. "oh... I've learned that." her embarrassment faded & she spoke to include both males. "But sometimes you've got to do something to wear the body out to be able to sleep, right?"

A look of perplexed wonder crossed her face. A second perhaps & it was gone, as Chroma remembered her fun new game. The gleam returned to her eyes, almost predatory. She rolled onto her tummy, legs curled up underneath her as if to pounce. "Nothing bad, India... just a harmless... little... game.. called..." With each drawn out word she inched closer to India, bridging the gap he had tried to make. "Tickle fight!"

'Attacking' as she announced the game, Chroma set to tickling her friend as best she could. No one could resist tickling back in a tickle fight! He would have to play!

Tarik
Tarik laughed and stood back from the tickle fight. He didn't have much urge right then to get involved, in fact, his father's sleepy gene felt the need to make a mean return. He yawned and curled up on a couple large pillows, watching his brother and friend.

India
This situation strangely reminded India of the night before. Then again, he only had seconds to ponder these thoughts before he flopped over with her momentum. A cry of surprise forced its way out of his throat. But before he could even think to compose himself, he felt a strange and horrible sensation running up his sides. It was then he remembered telling the femme he wasn't ticklish back when they'd gone to the kitchen, even though he hadn't really known. Well, unlucky him. Whining, he pawed at the ground, still unfamiliar laughter spilling from his maw. He was so ticklish he could barely retaliate. That was just his luck. "T-Tarik!" he cried to his now resting brother. How could he just leave him?

Chroma
Chroma had completely forgotten that India had said he was not ticklish. But then again, she had dismissed it as him telling her a mistruth so that she would not try for herself. The way he laughed sent little electric thrills through her body & she giggled too. "Uh-uh!" She managed through her giggles. "You're not allowed to call on siblings for help!" She giggled shrilly, her eyes bright. "I'll see that you're tired enough to rest well tonight!"

Chroma was surprised that she was not disappointed he had not retaliated yet, but was having fun. Trying to think of another way she could tickle him, Chroma breathed multiple short little 'whuff's into India's ear.

India
Very un-India-like was this whole situation. Whines full of annoyance escaped his maw as he struggled futilely to get away from the torture. His ear began to twitch wildly with the tickling breaths. Claws scraped at the ground as he tried to get enough leverage to tickle her back. He was only able to swing his solid colored tail around to brush her side. A rather sad attempt.

"I give! I give!" He cried, still trying to get away. Little tears began to well behind his eyes. It was too much. Being tickled was hard to explain. The laughing made him feel good, but the utter madness of the entire situation made him twitchy and rather unwilling to be in this predicament.

Chroma
Chroma was having much fun. She liked how her playmate squirmed beneath her. It made her head & heart race, & she was not even being tickled! How was that? At his cry for mercy Chroma paused, catching something that did not sound fun in India. She looked him over worriedly, her eyes huge. Seeing the tears forming in his eyes she mewed pitifully. Had she caused him to hurt? Laying nearly on top of her friend she licked the tears gently away. "You hurt? It was supposed to be fun! You laughed!" Her face scrunched up with sadness & sorrow & her voice broke with it. She nuzzled him gently & whimpered sadly. It was not supposed to go like this!

India
Released from the tickling, India's body relaxed greatly. The male's head rested against the floor as he took great breaths to fill his aching lungs. A few remnants of a laugh trickled from his maw. But even as he began to calm, he felt a sickening pang in his heart. He hadn't meant his pleads for mercy to make her feel bad. He did have fun, he just needed a break. "It's alright, I'm fine," he assured her, twisting so he could lick gently at her muzzle. Suddenly he found himself feeling very protective of sorts. He wanted her to feel better. "I did have fun, maybe a little to much." He offered a lopsided smile before nudging her cheek and nuzzling at her neck. "Don't be sad."

Chroma
The smile & nuzzlings helped, but Chroma still sniffled. "Really?" Sniff. Her blue eyes were big, sad & pleading like a lost puppy's. "You're not just saying that?"

She sniffled again. "I never thought there was a thing as too much fun..."

India
"No, I'm not just saying it," he assured. He paused in his guarantee for just a moment, as if sensing Remus's own protectivness and he couldn't help but cast a wary gaze. Trying to shaking off the feeling, he returned his attention to Chroma. "I mean it." He found when he looked into her eyes, he felt his own gaze soften even more. At her next comment, he chuckled, even though it still strained his lungs and throat. After all, laughing was still new to him. This was only the second time. "For you, maybe not, but for me... Ah, that's a whole 'nother story." Sighing, he twisted a bit more to set his forehead against her red fluff. It was slightly difficult with her laying on him.

Chroma
If Chroma was any less naive, she would know that the softness in India's eyes stole her heart. As it was she simply melted. Her legs got wobbly, her head felt heavy, & she felt like she was going to fall down. "I... I believe you."

Her knees threatened to buckle & suddenly Chroma was worried that her new feeling of heaviness & lightness would crush India should she fall. With a worried look she tumbled to his side, being careful of his head & neck. Once safely down beside him she snuggled in again, taking advantage of his comforting display of affection. Wiping her eyes on his fur she looked up at him like a child. "So... it was a good game? We can play it again? Maybe later?"

India
India let her get comfortable before he made any moves to do so himself. Once she seemed settled, he moved his head around under hers, cradling it against his shoulder in a way. All three tails swung lazily to wrap about her, as if forming a protective barrier. "As long as you let me rest, I suppose we can play again," he whispered softly against her neck. Inhailing, he found her scent almost too sweet to handle. "So, for now, sleep. And you should know, I plan of having a turn tickling you next time." Grinning, he attempted to bring her closer, were it possible. Yawning, he nosed at her fur for a while before he was lulled to sleep by exhaustion.

Chroma
Chroma giggled softly as India's breath tickled her neck. She was tired too & let out a yawn, letting herself be pulled closer. Letting herself? She helped. "I was right though? Better tired for the fun?" Chroma knew he was too sleepy to answer. For that matter she would not be awake even were he not. "I'll hold you to that..." she murmured into his fur, her eyes closing. A satisfied little smile remained on her sleeping face.

---Submissive

-Pg. 2186-2187

India
India inhailed sharply, his eyes opening, though rather reluctantly. Upon any such occasion, his normal reaction would be to return to sleep without a moment's thought. However, his stomach wouldn't allow it. It grumbling noisily. The male scoffed. Perfect. Eyeing the femme still snuggled with him, he sighed. Okay. Move carefully. After a while of manuvering, he was able to free himself. He would've much rather stayed, much rather, but he needed food. He nuzzled Chroma's neck and started off towards the kitchen.

Ember
Ember opened one eye blearily, and frowned as he tried to figure out where he was. Even is his just-awake state, he knew this was not where he was supposed to wake up. After a moment of surveying the room, he sat up hurridly. He'd fallen asleep at the HQ, where any and all could see him?

Well, shite.

India
Had the other not moved so sudenly, India probably wouldn't have even noticed him. Stopping, he turned a tired gaze on the other. "Ember? You okay?" A curious brow raised to accent the question. Really, the other male hadn't done anything too out of the ordinary to tip him off, it was just the hurried movements that made him wonder.

Ember
Ember started at the voice of the other, squeaking in a most indignified way and cringing in anticipation of a blow. When he saw who is was however, he ducked his head sheepishly, his tails and ears drooping in embaressment as he padded over to the other. "I-uhm, In...India, hi. Y-yeah, I'm fine, j-just..didn't mean to fall asleep...here.."

India
India took a seat as the other moved closer. Well, eating could wait, he supposed. "It's not that big a deal, is it?" he asked, canting his head. Never before had he had a problem sleeping in the HQ. Actually, he didn't like sleeping outside, so... "You don't like it in here?" Of course, he could fully understand if the other didn't. There were a lot of things the black male didn't like. Obviously, there was at least one thing everyone didn't like.

Ember
"I- no, it's...it's fine in here, I just don't like sleeping where, uhm, others could see me..." and attack me, he added silently, curling his lip at his paranoia in disgust. "I usually find elsewhere to...to sleep." he added, dropping his eyes to stare at the floor. "I guess I'm j-just...weird."

India
"Nah," India threw out with a nod. "You're not weird, just a little..." He searched for the right word. "Wary." He found himself nodding again. "It's not a bad thing, but sometimes you have to be careful not to let it control you." Flicking his all black tail around, he set it across his paws. The male couldn't help thinking that Ember needed a moral boost or something. He'd never seen another Kitsu who ducked their head and shied away so much.

Ember
"There's no 'me' for it to control." Ember replied absently, before he could stop himself. When he realized what he'd said, he emitted a miserable grumble at himself, and ducked his head even lower, so that his hair swept the ground. "I-uhm-that is, I...I mean.." What did he mean?

India
That statement threw India off. Amber eyes narrowed. For a moment, he tried bending forward enough to catch the other's eyes, but it was futile. Grumbling something or other about having to work too hard, he actually laid on the floor and set his head down right under the other's so he was low enough to look at him. Curse curiousity. Sometimes the dark male wondered if his own was beginning to run away with him. "What did you mean?" he asked.

Ember
"Nothing.." Ember mumbled, turning his head so the other kitsu wouldn't be able to catch his eyes. Surely he'd be able to see Ember's thoughts, his very heart, if he looked at Ember's eyes too closely. "I just- I don't know what I m-meant..I d-didn't mean anything I guess."

India
Eyes narrowed again as he was denied what he seeked. As mellow and patient as he felt at the moment, he wasn't used to not getting what he'd asked for. Besides, he could tell the other was hiding something. Normally he wasn't a pry, but tonight he felt the urge. Something just didn't seem right about this little situation and Ember held the truth. "I think you do know," India stated placidly, sitting up and merely staring at the side of the other's head.

Ember
Of course he knew, how could he bloody well not know? But he was displeasing India, he could tell, and he hated displeasing others more than anything. Whimpering softly in submission to India's questions, he nodded unhappily. "I do..d-do know..." he agreed quietly, "But I didn't mean to say that."

India
India wasn't the nicest Kitsu, but he was far from mean. He hated making others upset, which he could easily tell was becoming the case now. Sighing, he decided it was best to let it drop. If the other wanted to tell him, he would, otherwise it wouldn't have been merely an accident that it was even brought up. "Alright," he offered. "Well, you don't have to tell me, I was just... a little surprised by the comment." Tilting his head, he offered as much of a smile as possible at the moment, for Ember's sake if nothing else.

Ember
Ember again whimpered softly, he shook his head. "Anything India want to know I will tell him.." he promised, "If I have the knowledge. If..if this does not please you, you may punish me as you like. Just ask me...and I'll answer."

India
A confused look drifted to India's face. Punish? What? Shaking his head, he suddenly felt angry. He wasn't really angry at the Ember, persay, but more so the severity of the simply put statement. "Don't sell yourself out like that!" he shouted before he was able to control himself. "You can't be so submissive! Do you want Kitsu to walk all over you for the rest of your life?"

Ember
"Yes." Ember replied dully, his ears flattening back as a cat's would. He barely cringed as India shouted at him, as he'd been expecting it, and almost enjoyed it. How odd, he thought, enjoyed the simplicity of being controlled, even if it was just by being punished. "I do want that."

India
When they'd first met, India knew that the other was a submissive type. This surprised him further, though. Wanting to be walked all over. What kind of life was that? Could one possible enjoy a life void of their own design? Shaking his head, he refused to feel sympathetic. What would that accomplish? "You don't want to be you, Ember? You want to be used? It's like you're afraid to be yourself. Why? I don't understand how that can be... enjoyable."

Ember
Ember began to shake his head, but then remembered his promise to answer India's questions. Ah, hell. "As I said, there's no 'me' to be." he repeated flatly, "I'm notbody; I have no personality except for what others want me to be. I want control; or rather, to be controlled. If I can please somebody else than it's almost as if I'm worth something."

India
"So," India's eyes narrowed. He'd lost his patience. This was like a riddle that couldn't be solved. The stubborn male doubted he'd be able to change how the other was. "That's a sad life, I'd say. I wonder, though, what happened to that little bit of spirit I saw when we first met? Did I crush it? Hm? Well, I'll tell you what. I won't be your master, so don't expect it, but I will be your friend. I wonder, do you value yourself enough to accept my friendship? Or is there nothing left inside of you to do so?" his tone was biting, but that's how he felt.

Ember
"There never was any spirit there." Ember replied, closing his eyes with a weary sigh. "I forget, some days, that I am as I am- especially when the sun is high and the day is quiet. But if you saw any spirit, it was but me trying to please you, for that is what I do, what I am. I please others."

India
A sad smile slipped to India's maw. "I've never met such a depressing Kitsu." Standing, he knew right then that the trip to the kitchen was canceled. He felt too ill. "I suppose I'll probably always hope to see some spirit in your eyes, real spirit. I'm beginning to doubt that'll happen though." The smile slipped and his voice became dry and far off. "Goodbye, Ember." He moved off, not able to stand in the other's presence. He wouldn't give up, though, he would try again later. He would. Moving back to Chroma's side, he stared down at the femme, obviously at a loss.

---Confession

-Pg. 2196-2200

Chroma
Chroma had loved sleeping the days through beside India. So much in fact that she had lost count of both her days & nights & how long she had been at headquarters. Although she knew Remus was keeping tabs on her, she chose to return home yesterday. Now, happy that her human's concerns had been seen to Chroma was ready to bound back to headquarters. Besides, India had practically promised another tickle fight!

"India?" The primary hued kitsu called tentatively & eagerly as she stepped into the doorway. "India? You here?"

Remus
Snickering to himself, Remus nudged Chroma inside the rest of the way. No... she's not head over-heals for India at all.

India
India sighed, eyes shut. He laid at a far corner of the HQ, not very attentive and not much caring. The meeting with Ember the other day still had him tired out. Letting out a yawn, he rolled from his stomach to his side, legs stretching then curling back to his form. He was about to allow a deeper sleep to take him, but a familiar voice reach his ears. They twitched expectantly and he found himself up as if his drive had been suddenly returned. "Chroma, over here!" he called to her back.

Ember
Ember edged in, herding the bouncy little bundle that was Yrre along in front of him. He'd quickly become overly protective of the kit, and almost viewed himself as his second mother (Er- father, rather, he corrected himself. Male, and all. ) He'd taken to glaring suspiciously at anybody who so much as looked strangely at the little purple one. Nobody was going to touch this kit, not while he was around.

Yrre
Yrre bounded ahead, excitedly bumping into things and trying to see everything at once. Every once in awhile, he'd find something REEEALLY good to pounce on and bite his hellos, but Ember always made him stop. He didn't understand why. He was just making friends!

As he energetically surveyed the room, his eyes fell on a Sleepy Kitsu and a Looking Kitsu. He wondered briefly at what the Looking one was looking for- but he had no time for such considerations, these were potential friends! His teeth just itched to bite them hello, and he bounded over, pouncing first on the Sleepy one and sinking his teeth into him with an excited wriggle-glee.

Chroma
Upon hearing India's voice Chroma's happiness went into overdrive. She probably would have propelled herself at him much like speeding bullet, but her happiness & energy level was far too high. Instead she bounced rather like a bunny. Each bounce was accentuated with a little "India!" quietly breathed in & out. When she finally crossed the room there was no denying how her eyes were shinning. She paused, slightly breathless, just looking at him happily for once. "India! I'm missed you!"

Remus
Not that she seems to understand or acknowledge that. Remus chuckled more, nodding a hello & at the younger male out of courtesy -& a little bit to show approval. He would not interfere with their relationship with words however. Not at this point.

A familiar scent wafted over to him & the smile on Remus' face lost its slight sadness from envying Chroma & India their happiness. "Ember?"

India
India couldn't keep the smile from his face as she bounced to join him. Still, he could never figure out just where all of her energy came from. There wasn't much time left to ponder over it, however. As soon as he'd started to rise, a rather unwelcomed feeling swam through him. Hissing, his gaze snapped to the cause. Noticing the kit clinging to his flesh only seemed to intensify the pain. "What the heck are you doing?!" He shouted, resisting the urge to lash out for fear of harming the small Kitsu, not to mention himself. "That hurts..." he said between clenched teeth.

Yrre
Hurts? But Yrre didn't hurt, he was friend-making. Silly Sleeper didn't understand. "Hello!" he chirped brightly, grinning up happily at the annoyed kitsu. "Biting makes friends, and friendsing don't hurt; Yrre don't hurt." He explained, beaming at his logic and nuzzling India.

Ember
"Yrre...!" Ember called, racing after the biting kit and tugging him gently back with an apologetic glance to India. "Yrre, biting is not good. It hurts others. And yes, I know...'biting doesn't hurt Yrre', but that's because Yrre isn't the one being bit. So no biting.

His ears perked as he reprimanded the kit, hearing a familiar voice call his name. Remus! A goofy grin crossed his face, and he turned to hurry over before he stopped himself. Responsibilities for Yrre. Riiiight.

Chroma
India's smile warmed her, & Chroma felt all giddy inside. Then he cried out in pain & first she was simply worried, almost in a frantic kind of way. "India!" She exclaied in alarm, only then noticing his "attachment". Curiousity overwhelmed her fear & she leaned down to get a closer look. "Oh! It's just a kit!" Then her face wrinkled in confussion. "But why did you bite my... Chroma blinked, surprised. What was she going to call him? That was odd. "...India?" She finished -as if she had not paused oddly at all. In fact, that she had been about to give India a title or label had already slipped her mind.

India
As the kit released his hold, India sighed. Manuvering to his small injury, he nipped at it. No blood, it had been a shallow bite. The surprise was probably what caused most of the pain. Shaking his head, he nosed at Yrre as the purple one nuzzled him. "You're a strange one." And he almost commented further as Ember came and apologized, then rushed off as soon as he noticed Remus's presense. A brow raised, but he merely shook his head. Turning back to the femme, he felt that same brow raise further. "Your India?" Though he doubted she meant to say it that way, he'd never been 'owned' before.

Yrre
Yrre wiggled, whining as he resisted the urge to pouncebite Ember's Friend. But Ember had said No Biting, however silly that was. But as Ember was busy talking to Friend, he'd have the chance to go back to Sleeper and Looker. He slunk away, then trotted up to them.

"Yrre is not strange, am I?" he asked, plopping down next to Sleeper and cocking his head curiously to the side, his tails wagging furiously from side to side. "Sleeper is saying yes, but I is saying no, and I is biting but Ember says is hurting. And so Yrre am sorry."

Chroma
"Yeah! Ditto that!" Chroma piped in; herself wriggling trying to figure out how to respond to India. At his mention of her words it came back to her how it sounded. She blushed, knowing India's gaze was upon her.

Chroma was stumbling over trying to explain. Or understand. "I... ah... well..." Her blush deepened. "that is I didn't mean to... well, claim you..." Her head ducked sheepishly & she glanced up at India between her ears. "At least not without you wanting me too..." Suddenly her head shot up, a kind of teary, wild look in her eyes. "But you are... aren't you? In some way? Even some small way?"

India
India had to let his attention slip from Chroma for just a moment in order to understand the kit. He spoke in broken sentences, making it difficult for the darker male. He actually had to resist the urge to dumbly blurt out 'what?' but he found his answer. "Ah, it's okay," he offered with a slight grin, not really expecting to hear those particular words coming from the femme as he gave her back his attention.

He wondered if he was hearing her right. A patterned ear twitched, as if trying to catch anything else. After all, that couldn't be the end. She was just joking, right? "I... uh..." For only the second time in his life, India was without answer. For a second, he glanced to Yrre, as if the bitting little kit he just met could offer him some sort of idea. "Uh." He was beginning to sweat this. Should he tell her the truth or would he end up regretting it? Sighing, he tried to calm himself as he finally answered. "I do... and I..." His all black tail swung nervously. "I really li-" He swallowed, voice becoming extremely low. "Love you..."

Chroma
Love? Had he said love? Chroma found that her insides where doing flips as if in jubilation. "You love me?" Her whisper was incredulous, & more than a little scared. She knew of the word & the feeling it was supposed to describe, but she really did not understand it. "Do you... do you mean you like being with me an awful bunch, & your insides feel all funny & wriggling -but in a good way? & when I'm away there's a happy sad feeling like you just wanna see me again, but somehow it's okay just to think my name or imaging me near? & the whole world seems to revolve around being with me 'cause when we're together nothing else seems to matter & you're happy? More than happy? So much more that you don't think there's even words for it?" Her eyes were moist as they gazed into his. "Because... because that's what I feel for you."

A little stream of tears trickled from her overfilled eyes. More than anything, Chroma wanted to nuzzle up to India & bury her face in his fur. Yet she held back, wanting to watch his eyes. The strain of her conflicting drives played across the muscles of her body. "If that's what love is... then I love you too." A shaky smile played across her mouth. It was at this time she wished to be a little more in-the-know.

India
A quick breath whistled slightly through India's teeth at the end of her little speech. He wanted to laugh, but not because he thought it was funny. It was more so because he still couldn't believe what he was hearing. It was possible he wouldn't regret this, rather he would've regretted keeping it inside. Unable to hold himself back, he chuckled slightly. He could feel a wet p***k at the corners of his eyes, too. Shutting them tightly, he brought a paw to quickly whipe the tears. "Yeah..." was the only word he could pull from his vocabulary. He laughed lightly again. "Yeah..." Putting his paw down, he stepped forward, setting his cheek against Chroma's without a second thought. "..... I feel... that way, too...." He gently nuzzled against her cheek and neck. He never would've imagined such happenings.

Chroma
Chroma melted. Pure & simple, she just melted into India's touch. "oh, India..." She moved just enough so that more of her body could touch his, felling all electrified & relaxed at the same time. "Love has a bigger definition than I realized!"

Even melted, Chroma snuggled & nuzzled India as much as she could. Then her head tilted away, her tears rubbed dry in his fur & a questioning gaze seeking India's. "India? Now what?"

India
India just enjoyed the moment, keeping quiet, eyes closed. As her question reached him, though, amber orbs were slightly visible beneath dark eyelids. "Mm..." He sucked in a deep breath. Well, he really didn't know what to do next. "I guess... we just wait and see what happens." Yawning slightly, as if trying to cover up his lack of a real answer with his normal self, he nipped at her ear. "It really doesn't matter, though." He finished with a shrug, accented by a grin. Moving back from her a bit, he stretched out fully, slowly lowering himself to the floor.

Chroma
She had not thought she was sleepy, but her legs were like jelly. Her previous movement had all but strained her emotionally exhausted body to the brink. She almost crumpled to the ground without India's support. Almost. As it was she seemed to dissolve onto the floor. Finding her place by his side Chroma managed a half pout. "Awww... no tickling?"

The question did not have her normal energy. It was clear that she was much to taxed by the revelation of their feelings to have energy even for something as fun as a tickle fight. It was also clear the lingering disappointment even amidst her current bliss. Chroma wove her tails with India's. "Are we... each other's then?"

India
It almost surprised India that he felt more energtic at this point than she looked. It was only a very little bit, though. With every passing moment he could feel the sleepy gene, amplified by the strong feelings in the air, taking its hold. "Nope, no tickling." He shook his head, grinning. As her tails intertwined with his, the all black one seemed to twitch slightly. It'd always been the most sensitive. Sighing in content, he gazed off in front of them for a moment before answering her question. "Yeah... we are." Yawning, he leaned against her before setting his head on his paws. Still, he kept as near as he could. Shutting his eyes, he could feel sleep finally beating him.

Chroma
Chroma shivered happily, a little smile gracing her mouth as her eyes no longer would remain open. "Good."

---Misunderstanding

-Pg. 2257-2259

Chroma
The door opened, revealing the primary hues of Chroma's pelt as she peeked eagerly into the headquarters looking for India. It had been far too long since she had seen him. Of course 'far too long' in her mind covered the time it took for a nature call, but that was to be expected of one so newly in love. Or at least newly realizing she was in love. Not seeing him right away she pouted but bounded into the room anyway. Her eyes brightened, seeing familiar kitsu in Ember & Kaida, though she only remembered that they had spoken with Remus. dark cloud passed behind her eyes, knowing he was locked up again. She did not understand, & it still bothered her that no one would tell her why. Chroma wanted India's comfort now.

Instead, she pranced over to the others. "Hi, Friends of Remy!" Her bright & bubbly personality buoyed her. Only then did she notice the sickly kitsu & her face became confused. "Hey... what's wrong with you guys? Doesn't anybody ever feed you?"

Tarak
Well this was certainly akward. Having a conversation with someone so far away. Shrugging slightly Tarak sat up and moved closer to everyone. Not to close though, he had to keep a respectable distance. He tilted his head up as he listened and nodded when the kitsu introduced himself and his companion. "Well it's a pleasure to meet the both of you. I'm...." Tarak paused for a moment as if pondering the question. "I'm just a nobody." He finally responded, the same smile present on his face.

It was then that he noticed movement from the other female as she shakily got to her feet. As much as he didn't want to, he pitied her. That could have very well have been his fate as well...so okay it wasn't so much as pity as empathy. He resisted the urge to go over and help her. If that was him, he wouldn't want help. He did, however, not know if this female felt the same way, so he simply kept his eye on her.

India
India sulked in the corner, trying to shy away from the ever growing number of Kitsu occupying the HQ. While he was normally a hard one to bring down, large crowds made him nervous. A patterned ear twitched idly towards the conversation, but he made no move to remedy the fact that he could barely hear a thing. As soon as a rather familiar face made an appearance, however, he brightened a bit. But as soon as he noticed her moving up to the crowd, he slipped back. Hearing her rather blunt statement, he smirked lightly. "I'm not sure that's the nicest way to approach them, Chroma." He called out, sitting as far back in the corner as possible with his all black tail across his paws.

Ember
There were so many kitsu, so many. Ember flattened his ears, wincing and taking deep breaths to calm himself. When he opened his eyes again, he saw Remus's little sister there. And that distracted him immediatly. What was her name again...?

As he thought, he shook his head at Kaida. "N-no, you didn't do anything wrong, Rhian's just a bit skittish..as..as am I." he admitted this last part with a sheepish grin and a shrug of one shoulder. "I'm nobody too" he added, directing this comment to Tarak, "But even nobodies tend to be called something. I am called Ember. Do you have something others call you?"

As Rhian skittered backwards, Ember moved with her, continuing to act as a living shield between her and some of the other kitsu. Before he thought about it, he reached out to steady her, murmuring soothingly in response to her growl. However, when Chroma- oh, that was her name!- made the remark about nobody ever feeding Rhian, he growled softly himself. Remus's sister or no, she had no right to say such hurtful things. She should know better.

Kaida
Kaida gazed at Rhian for a few seconds and then to Ember. "skittish?" she asked him curiously. She had never seen a skittish kitsu before and it scared her a little bit. 'Who could be skittish of me? are there other kitsu here that I don't know about?'

Azura
Azura glanced back at Kaida and noticed her blood-sister behind another male sister. She canted her head to one side and noticed that Rhian was also like her. Azura was about to take a few more steps towards Tarak when she heard a kitsu ask her loudly what was wrong with her and Rhian. She let out a scared yelp as she scurried behind Tarak for protection.

Rhian
Rhian blinked up at Ember in a startled manner as he steadied and soothed her, mewling a little. Slowly, she got back onto her feet, legs shaking slightly, ears still flattened back and tail between her legs. "Can... can we get away?" she asked very softly, peering at Chroma and the others in a nervous, spooked manner. "Please? There... are a lot of them.."

Chroma
"India!" Her eyes lit up & her tails wagged, almost as they were beckoning to her mate. Knowing without knowing that he would not come to the group, Chroma made a step towards him only to take full realization of his words to her & the reactions of the kitsu around her. Suddenly she felt she had done something very, very wrong though she did not understand what. Her ears drooped & her tails stilled. Her face crumpled, as Chroma felt confused & miserable. She made herself as small as possible. "I'm sorry. I’ve done something dreadful, haven't I?"

Slowly, she started to slink backwards. India... She whimpered sadly. He'll make it all right.

Tarak
"Ah, but how can you be a nobody when you have friends? I don't think that girl behind you would consider you a nobody for protecting her?" Tarak blinked, more at himself then anything. Just where had THAT come from. Deciding that he might be considered rude if he didn't answer the question given to him he did so. "But if you insist, you may call me Tarak."

The sudden movement of the blue female nearby spooked him as she darted behind him. The only visable reaction was that he jumped slightly, but soon turned his glance to the one behind him. He frowned slightly and turned his emerald gaze to the one kitsu who'd sparked such an action. "Aww..now that wasn't very nice...." He trailed off as he turned back to the female hiding behind him. "Hey it's okay. She didn't mean any harm..." He whispered gently in an attempt to soothe her.

India
A sigh rose in India's throat. No matter how naïve he knew his mate could be, he saw no reason for the others to get so upset. He knew she meant no harm. Well, they didn't know, he supposed. Still, he couldn't help feeling overprotective and angry at them, especially Ember, who had the gall to growl at her. Standing, he moved towards the group, something he would normally refuse to do. He met Chroma as she slunk back his way. "It's alright..." he whispered to her, trying to keep the others from hearing as he assumed the role of offering her a sort of forgiveness. Nuzzling her shoulder, he cast a wary gaze at the others. Some of them seemed scared. Of what, he couldn't determine.

Ember
Ember sighed wearily at Chroma's reaction, shaking his head. "It's just not very polite...and a bit offensive. Don't fret, please..." He didn't want to upset her, both because of her relation to his friend and because, well...he didn't like upsetting anybody. As he worried about upsetting her, his ears perked once more as India called to Chroma. "Hello, I-India.." he said timidly. He remembered that the last time they'd spoke, he'd made India angry. Eek.

"Y-yeah..." he answered Kaida, "Skittish. N-not just of you, though..." he assured her quickly, ducking his head. "Of everybody, in my case." He laughed quietly at this, though it was true. Even his friends, he was anxious about. And speaking of friends..."I don't understand why I have friends..." he informed Tarak, shrugging. "And it is nice to meet you, Tarak."

As Rhian pleaded to go, Ember considered her request. It would be rude to leave now, and he'd displease so many others...! But on the other hand, he was uncomfortable too, just not on the same level as Rhian. "It'll be okay..." he crooned to her, as though she were a kit with a nightmare, doing the best he could to avoid saying yes to her and displeasing others or no and displeasing and distressing her.

Kaida
Kaida sighed at Ember's answer. "Oh, I see," was her only reply. Slowly, she turned around and started walking away from Ember and Rhian. She didn't want the two to get more scared than they already were.

Azura
Azura glanced at Tarak for a few seconds before crouching down behind him. She began to shake again as Chroma spoke again. She closed her orange-hued eyes slightly as she saw Chroma slink backwards. Shaking her head, she lifted her head up and rested it on the male's back, a little happier now that she had some protection from the other kitsu.

Rhian
Rhian mewled soflty up at Ember, blinking owlishly up at him, only to relax a tiny bit as he soothed her, sighing softly and hunkering down a bit more to just watch everyone with a nervous light in her blue eyes. "All right," she whispered, watching India and Chroma intently, finding Chroma the most alarming of the kitsus around.

Chroma
"Oh, India!" She wailed, turning into his shoulder. Chroma had never felt so bad -at least not that she could remember. "I was only worried that..." Sniffs. "I mean they're hungry!" Whimpers. "Nobody should be that hungry!"

Tears were coursing over her blue under-eye markings, but it was hard to tell for Chroma kept burying her face into India's fur. "Doesn't everyone want friends? Why'd they hide 'ndia? Why?"

Ember's words came to her, confusing the simplistic minded kitsu. "Wha's 'polite'? And 'offend'? Polite makes me think of Remy... but 'offend' sounds... hurtful." A little gasp & her blue eyes grew wide with fear. "I was hurtful?" Her bottom lip quivered as the tears fell down. "How is worry hurtful?"

This hurt her head. It was confusing. She wrapped her tails around India as best she could, pressing into his side. Their love was so simple... why were these other kitsu so hard?

"I was only worried..." she mumbled again, with a soft sob.

Tarak
Tarak seemed to ponder for a moment before speaking a loud, not talking to anyone in particular, so much as talking to the entire group. "I believe everyone is just too busy being afraid of each other to realize that no one here means any harm..." Tarak seemed to shrug before continuing. "It's just all one big misunderstanding." He turned his gaze over to where Chroma and India were. There was a hint of sorrow in his eyes at the female's reaction.

"Just one big misunderstanding..." He seemed to trail off as he turned his attention back to the female behind him. Tilting his head, he smiled at the one who was using him for a pillow, his eyes meeting hers. "And just who might you be?" He asked curiously.

India
Though he hated to have to sit in everyone's presence, trying to calm his nearly hysterical lover, he knew it had to be. He wasn't going anywhere now. Sighing, he leaned to her, nuzzling her gently as she wept. "It's okay to be worried, but..." Again, he let out a sigh. He couldn't really tell the truth and still be the completely understanding and comforting mate he wanted to be. Still, he found that Tarak's message did help, somewhat.

"The way you said it was... too blunt." Canting his head, he glanced at the group for a moment, then returned his attetion to the yellow femme. "Some Kitsu can become offended that way. Perhaps they had no one to care for them or feed them. Then you would be making them sad. Or maybe they don't like being pitied. You pointing out their little problems could upset them if they don't want others to look at them just because they haven't eaten." Shutting his eyes, he resisted the urge to bring a paw to his forehead. "You have to try and be more calm and understanding in such situations. That way, you won't offend anyone."

Ember
Ember cringed as Kaida turned to go. "Wait, I didn't...d-din't mean to make you upset." he exclaimed, completely overwhelmed. "I'm sorry, j-just...sorry." He keened softly, casting an apologetic look to Rhi before curling in on himself, closing his eyes and trying to block everything out. There was just too much at once, and everybody was getting upset, and he hated it. It was his fault Chroma (and by association, India) was upset, he couldn't make Rhian unafraid, he'd managed to get into a mild disagreement with Tarak, and now Kaida was leaving too? Man, he really was a failure at pleasing people.

Kaida
Kaida glanced back at Ember as he yelled that he was sorry at her. She narrowed her crimson eyes slightly as she flicked her ears slightly. 'What a bothersome bunch of kitsu,' she thought to herself bitterly. 'I don't even know why I bother being kind to them.' She growled at herself for growing soft for a few minutes as she continued to walk away from the group of kitsu.

Azura
Azura looked at Kaida as she walked away from the Ember and her blood-sister. She whimpered slightly as she wagged her limp tails slightly, but then stopped as Tarak asked what her name was. She glanced at him for a few seconds before saying "Azura" to him in a soft voice.

Chroma
"A miss-under-standing?" It was a rather large word for Chroma but its meaning was clear. She thought on that & India's explanation as her beloved talked. Her head cocked & her tears slowed their flow. "Blunt? Like a club?" Remy & Trel say I'm si'plistic & honest. Sometimes too honest." She gazed imploringly into India's orange eyes. "Was I too honest again?"

She sighed shakily, feeling lightheaded from the crying. "I do try, 'ndia... I do. There's so much I don't under-stand. I'm not like Remy... my head can't think like he does.

Chroma whimpered again seeing Ember cringe out of the corner of her eye. She recognized him from having talked to her brother, but more listening to her brother speak of him. Remus would not be pleased that his friend was upset. She hung her head, thinking Remus would be displeased with her.

That in mind, Chroma unwound herself from her mate & licked his nose. There was something she had to do. "One moment." She stepped away from him, trembling. Keeping her steps light she re-crossed the distance between them & the others. "Remy came home happy... so happy... he talked of you, Ember, & the angelic til it came time for him to be locked away." She blushed uncomfortably. This was a lot of thought & speaking for her. "I've never seen him so happy. He'd want you to be happy too."

She sniffled, turning to catch glimpses of the others. "I'm sorry... I really am. I... don't think." Her blue eyes were pleading, truly regretful. "I won't bother you again... 'less you want me to. But if you need a friend..."

It was too much. She ducked her head in a sort of nodding bow & dashed back to India's side, pressing into him fiercely. Chroma hoped she had done all right.

Tarak
Tarak was curious at the female's actions. She whimpered as she watched the other kitsu walk off, as if she wanted to follow yet she remained by his side. Another thing was WHY would she want to? The other kitsu seemed to be in a foul mood if anything. Oh well, he shrugged it off. When the female behind him whispered her name, it brought a smile back his mouth. "Why what a pretty name you have Azura. It is a pleasure to meet you, and if you haven't heard by now you may call me Tarak."

His eyes traced back the floor until he saw Chroma standing in the middle of the group. What she said at first was clearly not for his ears so he tuned it out. When she looked at them though all he did was offer a smile. Some might call it simplistic, he prefered innocent, and it was quite endearing to see her up there. He turned back to Azura and nudged her gently. "See? No harm. Why don't we go over and introduce ourselves?"

India
India smiled, accepting her warmly as she returned to him. Now he could go back to being that comforting mate. Setting his chin atop her head, he gently wrapped his tails around her frame, the more sensitive, solid-colored one clinging the tightest. "That was nice, Chroma," he whispered, trying not to tickle her ear, as he was so close. "It's always good to apologize." Bringing his head down, he rubbed his cheek against hers, then licked at her fur as if trying to wash away her sadness.

Azura
Azura held back a wince as Tarak gently nudged her. She glanced at him with a slightly scared expression on her face, but nodded slightly, agreeing to go with Tarak to introduce herself to the other kitsu. She glanced over where Kaida went to, but didn't see her 'sister'. Sighing, she flicked her limp tails slightly and waited for Tarak to walk towards Chroma and India.

Chroma
Feeling surrounded by her mate, Chroma was beginning to feel more like herself. At least more like the pleasantly sleepy self that seemed to arise more when the pair was alone together.

"No Harm..." She repeated softly, not quite believing it but wanting to. She still ached for no reason she could explain. Introductions were always good. "I'm Chroma, & this is India." She inclined her mate. "We're each other's." That was added with slightly goofy grin.

Chroma knew India would want to lay down & cuddle soon; possibly sleep. So did she. Still, she was curious about these other kitsu, so she tried to emulate her brother best she could.

Thinking she felt India yawn beside her, Chroma discovered how tired she herself was. "I think..." She knew that was saying a lot. "We could all use some sleep. Start fresh in the morning."

"At least in my case." She murmured low, for India's hearing only.

Letting herself be led to a comfortable spot, Chroma eagerly curled into the familiar curves of her mate's sleepy form. Lulled by his breathing Chroma followed him to sleep easily.

-Pg. 2273-2274

India
India yawned, stretching out as he woke from the somewhat fitful sleep he'd had. Manuvering away from his mate, whom he wasn't surprised to see still curled up next to him, he stood. Stretching once again, tails swishing out as he did so, he glanced around. At least the huge crowd was gone... Sighing, he stepped away from the wall and Chroma, all black tail hovering close to his form. He just had to make sure they were gone. Just a quick check.

Roy Mustang
The room wasn't completely empty. Roy Mustang was also in it, by the fireplace, contemplating on whether or not he shoudl get a fire started in the fireplace. He canted his head to one side, one of his forepaws extended towards the opening of the fireplace. It was then that he heard the soft clicks of claws on the wooden floor. Immediately, he put his extended paw on the floor and gazed around with his onyx-hued eyes. He saw no other kitsu in sight. 'Maybe I am going crazy, he thought to himself.

India
Crazy or not, India wasn't to say. However, the paw-falls weren't the other's imagination. Peeking out from behind the couch, the dark male had just caught the end of the other's scan. Obviously, he hadn't noticed him. Against his usual judgement, he felt compelled to seek company with this new Kitsu. Perhaps it was just a tiny bit of the curiousity that he harbored inside. Who was to say? Padding up to the fireplace, he hoped his entrance wouldn't be upsetting. "Hey..." he said, staring into the fireless hole. "I'm India." Well, that was rather abrupt. For him, at least.

Roy Mustang
Roy twitched his ears when his gaze fell upon a kitsu approaching him. He canted his head to the other side and stared at the other kitsu as he began to talk to him. 'Interesting,' he thought to himself. Slowly, he rose to all fours and took a few steps to the side to allow the other kitsu to sit next to him. "Hello, India. I am Colonel Roy Mustang, Flame Alchemist," he told India smugly.

India
"Is that so?" India muttered, taking the offered seat. Never before had he heard such a title. Not only that, but he had no clue just what an 'alchemist' was. Allowing a small grin to slip to his maw, he tilted his head from the fireplace to view the other instead. "So, what is it that I should call you? Colonel? Roy?" He didn't bother going on with the list. "And, if you wouldn't mind filling me in, just what is an alchemist?"

Roy Mustang
Roy smirked smugly as he gazed into the unlit fireplace. "You shall call me whatever you like, Master India," he said in the same tone of voice. He twitched an ear slightly as he heard the other male kitsu ask what an alchemist was. "We are basically scientists." He cleared his throat as if to go on, yet he said nothing else. he just continued to stare into the fireplace, the glint in his eyes dimming slightly.

India
India couldn't help but become slightly wary at such company. Still, he held his ground, obviously interested too much to leave now. "Alright," he huffed in answer, debating then which tilte to use. Bah, he'd think of it later. Following the other's gaze to the fireplace, he found his amber eyes narrowing ever so slightly. "Basically?" Not pushing that little tidbit seemed wise at the moment, something told him. He moved on. "So, what makes you the Flame Alchemist, then? Something to do with fire would be my educated guess." A patterned ear flicked idly.

Roy Mustang
Roy nodded his head slightly. "Indeed, that is true. I do deal with fire from time to time." He carefully lifted his forepaws up and, balancing on his hindlegs, he pulled one of his gloves off and showed it to the other male. "This is made of ignition cloth and the symbol on top of it help me make fire. Whenever I snap my fingers, the cloth rubs together and thus fire is created. Understand?" He gazed at India with dull onyx-hued eyes, hoping the other kitsu understood what he told him.

India
India payed due attention to the explaination, finding it quite interesting. He knew of Kitsu who could create fire, but Roy was the first alchemist he'd ever met. The clothed Kitsu's way of making sparks was rather different. "Understood," he answered, though he couldn't help but cant his head. The other seemed... well, he couldn't quite put his paw on it. Normally, he wasn't one to venture so far into personal territory, but he found himself asking anyway. "I wonder, do you enjoy being an alchemist?"

Roy Mustang
"One does not enjoy being an alchemist. We are dogs of the military-forever obeying their every command," he told India bluntly, as if he had told this everytime someone asked him that question. Sighing, he turned his gaze back towards the fireplace, the glint in his eyes dull and lifeless. 'Why do kitsu always ask me that question. It seems like I have to repeat myself everytime I turn around and meet another kitsu,' he thought to himself bitterly.

India
India wasn't one to be affected by the tone he was given. Rather, he merely shrugged. "If you don't like it, perhaps you shouldn't give out your full title everytime you meet someone." He could tell Roy was upset at his asking, if nothing else. Or maybe the other just had a temper. He couldn't tell much from the dulled gaze. "Then you wouldn't have to talk about it." He removed his eyes from the other male, sending them back to the fireplace, as well. That seemed to be a common action of both during this conversation.

Roy Mustang
"I am quite happy being called the flame alchemist. What I don't like is when people ask if I enjoy being an alchemist. I have seen things that even your grandparents will shriek at. let's just say that the only thing I enjoy about being an alchemist is blowing up the chairs in this building." He smirked slightly as he pointed to a blackened chair in the far corner of the room. "That was my latest 'victim.' I think I overdid it a little bit." He stared at the destroyed chair for a few moments before gazing around the room. "And also, I use my flames to protect someone that I care for." He sighed as he suddenly remembered his mate, Kaoru. 'I wonder where she is,' he thought to himself sadly.

India
"Well," India drawled, tilting his head slightly and shutting his eyes. "Forgive me for prying, then. I suppose it was against my better judgement." Opeing his eyes just in time to catch the direction, he followed it, also gazing at the chair, though for a good while longer. "However, can one truly enjoy being given a tiltle that holds such things that, as you say, 'even my grandparents would shriek at'?" Shaking his head, he smirked. "Nah, forget that question." Listening until the other finished, his smirk shifted to a softer smile. "Hm, I guess I can understand that last part, though. I wonder if I would have enough power to protect the one I care for most..."

Roy Mustang
Roy glanced briefly at India and sighed. He brushed one ungloved paw on the ground as he flicked his tails back and forth. "You do...that is, if you have confidence in yourself." He closed his eyes as he tried to remember a time when he had lost his own confidence to go on with protecting someone he love. He shook his head after a few moments, unable to think of that at the moment. His thought at the moment were all on his mate and the whereabouts of her current location. 'I wish she was with me right now,' he thought to himself sadly. "Pardon me for intruding on your personal life, but have you lost a lover in your life?" He gazed at India curiously, a hint of glint back in his eyes.

India
"Mm..." As long as he held confidence in himself, eh? Well, he supposed he could do that. At least, he hoped he could. Shutting his eyes once again, he listened idly to Roy's question, smiling lightly, though it was meant for the comment about intruding. "Asking pardon isn't necessary, for it's true that I've intruded on your personal life quite a bit, myself." The smile calmly slipped from his maw as he thought to answer. "No, I've never lost a lover. Truthfully, I haven't been around that long. I've just recently... acquired a mate." He didn't like the way that sounded. "Or rather, I've just recently expressed my feelings."

Roy Mustang
Roy nodded his head, a little happy at India's reply. "That's good. Here is something you should remember at all times-never let her out of your sight. if you do, she might..." he took a deep breath before continueing on. "She might run away from you or disappear." He turned his gaze away from the other male again, the comment he made reminding him of Kaoru. 'I wasn't there to keep her from disappearing from me. Next time, I will not make that same mistake. I will keep her...forever.' He closed his eyes slightly and bowed his head down in shame.

India
India nodded, taking the advice to heart. He didn't know what he'd do if Chroma ever disappeared from his life. However, there was one thing he knew. Whenever she left, she always came back, no matter how much time happened to pass inbetween. Smiling lightly, he couldn't help but nose under Roy's chin, trying to bring his head back up. "I think, if love is true, you don't have to worry." He pulled away. "Don't give up, okay?" Even though he had no real proof the other had been talking about himself, he just felt it. "I hope to meet again." With that, he offered a slightly bow and turned. "It was nice to meet you, Roy." And he padded off, out of the HQ. Something he wouldn't ordinarily do. But he just needed a walk.

---Bananas

-Pg. 2295-2302

Chroma
Groggily Chroma stirred, stretching slightly into her living pillow. A happy smile touched her maw & she turned to nuzzle the dark kitsu beside her. "India... I think you're rubbing off on me. How's come I always wanna sleep around you anyway?"

India
The nuzzle woke India from his light sleep. And he was obviously equally groggy. Blinking a few times, he cleared his vision. Actually, he'd almost forgotten that he was asleep next to her. He was used to her leaving and then returning later, while he still slept. That also reminded him of Roy. Well, he'd taken the other's advice and returned to her side not long after he'd left that day. "Mm... no idea." He mumbled in answer, nosing at her head. "Maybe I'm magic..." he continued, voice as joking as was possible at the moment.

Chroma
"You're magic to me!" The bright hued kitsu had to agree. Then she giggled, shoving her nose under India's chin. "You make me feel all gushy inside... like a banana!" She peeked out just enough for her eyes to dance with laughter at his, remembering. "Speaking of bananas... I'm hungry. Are you?"

India
"Gushy like a banana...?" He had to chuckle at that. At the mention of hunger, India felt his stomach grumble slightly. Trust just the word to get his stomach going. Of course, he would've eaten with her were he hungry or not. "Yeah... I suppose so," he answered, moving to rise. "Besides, who can resist bananas? Hopefully we'll find some this time." He shook, airing out his fur.

Chroma
Chroma rose with him, bouncing a little. "Well, we didn't check the counters then! I was too little! I bet we can see the countertops fine now." Nodding emphatically she hopped a little towards the kitchen; doubling back when it seemed India was being too slow. Grinning playfully, Chroma flipped her tails in a 'come hither' way & bounded off to the kitchen.

India
Despite her thinking he was too slow, India continued at his tired rate. He wasn't exactly tired at the moment, but he found it rather entertaining to have her hop back to him and then ahead again. He shook his head. She had too much energy.

Once they'd reached their destination, he was forced to squint for a second. He'd forgotten how cleanly this place was. It was almost annoying.

Chroma
Chroma did not really mind her mate's slowness. Her thoughts rarely ran that deep. To her, being slow was part & parcel of what made India, well... India. She would not try to change him... just tease him a bit. No matter what she said.

Blinking at the brightly lit, pristine kitchen Chroma let out a soft whimper. "Couldn't they have the lights on a dimmer or somethin'? 'specially if they're gonna have it so much brighter in here than the main room."

Not waiting for a reply, Chroma awkwardly stood upright on her hind legs with her forepaws on the edge of the counter. India wanted bananas... she would find India bananas!

India
India thought for a moment, as if trying to get his mind to come up with a witty responce. The brightness was distracting. "Now, if they did that, Kitsu would be in here all the time snatching food. Everyone would eat too much." Well, that was the best he could come up with. Raising a brow as she stood to reach the counter, he merely shrugged. Less work for him to do. A slight smirk placed itself across his features. Ah, he'd end up paying her back somehow.

Chroma
It was fun being able to look on the counters. Chroma was not allowed to do this at home. She sniffed around eagerly for the familiar scent of bananas, walking oddly down the length of the counter. At the far end she caught the scent just before she spotted them. "Nanas!" Chroma exclaimed happily pulling herself onto the counter, her hind end dangling & scrambling for a moment against the slick lower cabinet doors. Once up she swung her head around to beam at her mate. "They look ripe too!"

Snagging the bunch off of their tree she hopped of the counter gracefully; more than making up for the ungraceful way she ascended. Grinning around her 'catch' Chroma placed the bananas in front of India. "Go ahead! I know they're your favorite."

India
All the while, India watched, a grin of sorts playing on his maw. For a moment he debated throwing out some dry comment, however he resisted. Something about this room put him in a mood, but he found he was able to handle himself when it came to ridiculing his mate. Well, he found he really couldn't.

When she placed the food in front of him, he smiled, stepping forward to lick her nose. "Thanks," he said, bending down to pull one from the bunch. As usual, he bit the middle, the ends falling cleanly to the floor. It took a while, but he chewed down the big bite and moved to peel the remaining ends before eating the insides and tossing the end peels near the trash to be deposited later.

Chroma
Determined to make a better go of it than the last time, Chroma picked out her own banana from the bunch & bit down hard. She was mildly surprised when it sliced in three just as India's did & she could only chew on the center thoughtfully, dumfounded. By the time she remembered she did not care for the peel & grimaced she was already swallowing her mouthful. "Ugh!" She exclaimed, lying down to lick out one of her ends. "I'll never understand what you see in the peal, 'ndia."

India
"Only the middle part of the peel," India admitted, stalking over to pick up the peel ends he'd tossed. A little bit of banana mush had found its way onto the clean floor. That bothered him enough to move the ends into the trash. "Dunno, I just like it." Once the ends were rightfully deposited, he returned for another banana. "I guess to me its just like the peel of any other fruit," he mumbled around the banana he'd just picked up.

Chroma
Chroma wrinkled her nose. "Yeah... I guess so..." The femme did not seem totally convinced. "It doesn't crunch though. And it's pithy." She added in distaste with a little shudder. "Not that I care if you eat the center peel. 'ndia!" It was a funny look she gave him: half worried, half laughing. "I just won't be eating any more of them!" The proclamation was heightened with a nod of her head as Chroma sucked out the banana from her second end.

Cocking her head coquettishly at India she asked. "You don't care if I check out what else is around to eat, do you?"

India
India idly peeled his last end, his claw sticking in the soft center as he seemed to grow suddenly lazy. He merely shrugged at her explaination, a little grin pulling at the corner of his maw as he acted uninterested. It wasn't until he caught the little gesture out of the corner of his eye that he fully viewed her. Rasising a brow, he shook his head. "Knock yourself out," he said, wondering momentarily if she would take that literally. Nah, he shook his head again, though this time at himself.

Chroma
Giving her mate an affectionate lick at the base of his ear, Chroma bounced over to a cupboard. Pawing it lightly she opened the door, only to be disappointed with what she found. Not to be deterred, Chroma checked the next one, then the next. Mostly cooking supplies. Her nose wrinkled unhappily. "This place is designed for humans & anthros! I can't cook!"

Flinging open the refrigerator she yanked the crisper open & grabbed a carrot. Her previous disappointment forgotten Chroma gnawed the crunchy treat gaily.

India
How quickly her tune could change. India shook his head, laughing lightly as she finished her search and came up happy, even after the disappointment of coming across so many mere supplies in the process. Stretching idly, he pulled one last banana from the bunch, which actually only left one. Leaving his chosen fruit, he grabbed the last one and hopped up, setting it on a rather random spot of the counter before returning to eat the one he'd taken. "Good?" he asked, just before biting into his banana.

Chroma
Beaming at her mate, Chroma's eyes glistened happily. "uh-huh!" she managed before setting her teeth to grind the hard vegetable with gusto. "A'most as fun as eatin' 'nanas!"

India
"Almost," he agreed knowingly. It almost sounded as if he'd actually had a carrot before. "Plus, there's no nasty peel to slow you down, eh?" He added, grinning slightly as he moved up to his mate in an attempt to steal a bite before she ate it all. He pondered merely slinking up close and making himself smaller than she, waiting for a bite to be offered. But trying to snatch a bite was more fun.

Chroma
"Well," Chroma paused, surprisingly thoughtful. "I guess you could call the whole thing a peel really." Her nose about to crinkle she made an odd sound like a pout mixing with a mew as her mate stole the last bite out from under her. Chroma watched him a second, not quite pouting & mostly caught off-guard. "Hey that was mine!" She exclaimed at last, arching her brow coyly. Then a mischievous glint sparkled in her eye. "so... whatcha gonna give me for it?" She asked, her tails swishing playfully as if indicating that should he not do something she would.

India
Rather than even bother looking threatened, India merely flopped over, chewing on his ill-gained piece of carrot. A sly grin found itself on his maw when he finished. "Sorry, I don't have anything," he said nonchalantly. Yawning, he flipped over, laying down all the way. "Just what are you gonna do about it?" Oh, he was asking for it. He knew he was asking for it. But he just couldn't resist. Yawning once more, he stretched and shut his eyes, feigning sleep. Still, he had to fight to resist the urge to peek.

Chroma
Chroma had been waiting for him to finish the carrot. Trelweny had told her time & time again how easily food could choke a kitsu -or other living being- & the last think Chroma wanted to do was hurt India. When He lay down, she hunkered into pounce position with much anticipation. "I think you have something..." She grinned, thinking this was a great game. "I’ll have your laughter!"

With that she pounced, intent on tickling her mate unmercilessly. Well, tickling intermittently mixed with gentle nips & light licks. Still... it would be much fun.

India
Though he knew without a doubt that this was coming, his reaction time was still slowed. Unable to get away, he could feel his mate's weight. Well, he wouldn't go down without a fight. Not this time. Wriggling around, he pawed at her, trying to get in a good few play-bats before he was likely incapacitated by the tickling. There was no way he could forget what happened last time. He was deathly ticklish. An unheathly thing to be around Chroma.

Chroma
Chroma gave her mate room to fight back. She did not want him hurt, as she still feared he had been the last time. So she squirmed with happy teasings into & out of his grip, licking his nose or nipping the soft places of his ears. She wanted fun but she wanted it to last. When India got a good tickle in on her, Chroma dissolved into giggles into his fur.

India
India's laughing slowly stopped and he sighed as the tickling ended. For now he was safe. However, there was a little part of his mind that told him as soon as she recovered, he would be tickled again. Ah, the trials of love. Trying to protect himself from such a fate, he flung a soft paw around her, pulling her closer. Perhaps he could get her to relax... then there would be no tickling. His mind slowly plotted such.

Had anyone told a little kit verson of India that he would grow to plot ways of escaping tickling, he would've told them that they were crazy.

Chroma
Chroma shivered lightly as her mate's paw encircled her. Halfheartedly she tickled again, but she was not in it. She lay on top of him, pressing her body close. If anyone had told her she would be spending this much time still or sleeping, she would have denied them with a laugh. Funny, she was finding stillness to be nearly as much fun as wild & wonton romping. She nipped playfully at India's fur near her muzzle. "India... are we gonna sleep in the kitchen again? It's bright in here."

She peeked her light blue eyes up at his & batted them playfully as she had seen Keyna the kyunru do. It always made her eyes look so innocent, & Chroma fancied herself nearly innocent right now. Nearly, for she was tempted to tickle her mate again should he start drifting to sleep.

India
Letting out a long, drawn sigh, India feigned annoyance. "Well, I suppose we don't have to." Carelessly, he swished his tails around, purposly brushing them against hers. "However," as if part of his act, his tone was regal. He told himself he was merely 'in character.' "It is rather difficult to move with you on top of me." Even with that said, he made no move to remedy the situation, nor did he remove his paw.

Chroma
At India's tone, Chroma's head jerked upright to look at him half-cocked. Then she giggled. Feeling his paw around her & his tails intertwined with his, Chroma did not wish to relinquish hold either. "Perhaps we could roll out of the kitchen." She eyed the door questioningly. It looked wide enough. If they were careful.

Experimentally, Chroma wrapped herself around her mate & leaned trying to pull him along with her until India was on top.

India
Despite the strange pulling feeling that went along with being rolled by his mate, India let it be done. Once he was on top, however, he put his paw down, literally. No matter how slow they were going, the rolling messed with his stomach, especially after eating three bananas. "Unless you wanna be cleaning acid banana out of your pretty fur, I suggest we exit the normal way." Laughing lightly, he lifted himself from her, nosing at her shoulder as if telling her to follow. Not that he doubted she would.

Exiting the bright kitchen, he was grateful for the dulled look of the main room. But the large group of Kitsu bothered him somewhat. No matter how old he got, large crowds still bothered him. Well, at least he knew most of them. Then again, happening to known Ember as he saw the other in such a sad state made his stomach flip, even though they didn't get along well. Still, he knew it was none of his business. Slinking over to the corner, he laid down and stretched, waiting for Chroma to join him.

Chroma
Chroma pouted only a moment before rolling onto her feet & following her mate. She did not slink, she did not bounce, but she almost ran to his side. Touching him again, Chroma began to groom India, beginning with his head. "You sleep." She told him firmly. "I'll give you a bath & join you."

---Trip

-Pg. 2415-2417

Chroma
Chroma came bounding into HQ. She looked tired, but severely excited at the same time. "India! In-dia!" She called out happily. "You won't you won't believe where I've been!"

India
India's eyes opened reluctantly, taking in the sight of the upside down HQ. Mumbling, he flopped onto his side, blinking at the familiar bright yellow. "Won't believe it, huh?" he called out to her, too lazy to actually get up just yet. "Well, let's hear it, then." There were few things the male would admit that surprised him. Naturally, he was skeptical of her claim.

Chroma
The primary hued bundle of energy plowed into her mate with less than her usual force, but no-less exuberance. Licking his face happily she rolled into his side, snuggling herself between his paws & wrapping her own forepaws lightly around his neck. Sky-blue eyes twinkled at India merrily. "Were you awake enough when I told you I had to leave for that big family event?" She did not wait for a reply, but nipped his ear playfully. "Well we went to an empty island! Only it wasn't empty! Or maybe it was & there was lots o' magic there! But we got to play around & there was always food & those of us 'telligent types didn't need translators." Her smile turned confused for a minute. "Trel's baby still made little sense, but then he stayed with his new Jivvin bond." Matter gone from her mind Chroma grinned again. "Speaking of Ambar, we've 3 other new family! An' one's a kitsu! AearHwesta is fun he flies me 'vrywhere!"

Her speech was rather fast & jumbled in her excitement & Chroma shivered trying to contain it all. She snuggled closer. "But... I missed you. Is it okay to have fun & miss you all at once?"

India
"Uh..." Had India been fully awake, it would've been easier for him to respond. However, in his current state, his mind raced dumbly for an answer it couldn't seem to find. He certainly didn't remember her telling him about this family trip... Must've been sleeping. Ah well, at least she had fun. Snuggling closer to her, he sighed. " I suppose it's okay to have fun and miss me at the same time." He tilted his head against her neck. "But next time you decide to fill me in on all your fun, you might wanna slow down about it." Then again, even if she did so, he doubted he'd really understand everything. Some of her family she mentioned threw him off. He had no idea who she was talking about.

Chroma
She giggled into his ear. "If you weren't always asleep, maybe I wouldn't seem to be talking fast." Chroma was quite oblivious that she spoke fast, much less doubly so when excited. Not that it mattered much to her right now, as she cleaved herself to her mate & breathed in his scent happily. India's assurance that it was okay to miss him & have fun had eased her simple mind. "I'd forgotten about the trip. Seems Remy had too, 'cause Trel sent AearHwesta to fetch us." Chroma wove her tails with India's; one tail gently stroking his black one. "I wasn't too keen on some strange angelic telling me I had to leave you but he said he could fly me home. I figured that was all right, him Aear being my new big brother & all."

Chroma was trying to wriggle closer but since there was very little extra space left between them the female was only managing to rub against India gently. "Flying was fun, 'ndia! Better than running faster than fast!"

India
"The way I figure it, even if I had slept a good day and was hyped up on caffine, you'd still talk too fast for me." Despite the joke, his look was all but serious. He had no doubt his own words were actually true. He listened idly, wondering about this new brother, but his thoughts were interrupted as a shiver ran up his spine. His all black tail twitched at the gentle touch. India didn't doubt Chroma knew it was his most sensitive. Breathing deep to calm the tingling in his back, he grinned. "Flew you, eh? I'll have to meet this brother sometime." He gratefully accepted her attempted to move closer, nuzzling into her shoulder. Though he would be hardpressed to admit it, he really missed her, too.

Chroma
"I couldn't see you on caffeine. Chocolate's better anyway." Trel had tried to explain to the kitsu that chocolate had caffeine in it, but Chroma seemed slow to grasp it. Feeling India's tail twitch she stroked it all the more playfully, grinning into his fur. She liked how he moved. "You're sure to meet Aear sometime. He's very friendly."

Being his sister, Chroma was safe from his ways. Being herself, Chroma was also naive to them. "What's it mean, 'lovers'?"

India
India thought about bringing up the fact that chocolate had caffeine in it, but let it drop. Instead, he merely let his grin stay as he explained his own feelings on the subject of better things. "I think bananas are better than chocolate. Better for you, too. Plus they have a natural energy booster." He nodded against her shoulder.

His eyes were almost closed as his grin drifted away, but opened quickly at her question. Pulling away slightly, he looked curiously at her. "What brought that up? Aear?" He couldn't decided how talk of Chroma's brother could lead to this question, but he went with it, anyway. "Lovers are like mates..." he said thoughtfully, gaze wandering in thought. "I suppose."

Chroma
She nodded, at both of his quandaries. "Chocolate covered 'nanas are the bestest though. Next to magic jumpin' chocolate frogs. And yea... Aear was saying something about it. All weekend. Kept apologizing for taking us 'way from our lovers... an' teasin' Remy for having two."

"So being each other's makes us lovers too? I like the sound of that word." She giggled, her sleepyness catching up to her. Or perhaps it was India's presence. "Though I really like being each others'. It's ours." Her tails stroked his happily.

Chroma yawned & her tails made ringlets around India's that tightened gently. "I'm sleepy, 'ndia. I wanna play, but I'm so sleepy."

Her eyes started to droop & she murred sadly into his neck, only slightly disappointed. If she was to be sleeping, this was her favorite place for it.

India
"Chocolate covered...?" He mumbled, canting his head in thought. He'd never had a chocolate covered banana before, but he figured two good things could only be better together. His ponderings over food were all but interrupted as she wrapped her tails tighter around his, causing a similar effect on his solid colored appendage. Grumbling slightly, he rubbed his cheek against her shoulder.

Rather than answer, he listened on, her yawn causing him to have to choke back on of his own. Of course, he was far from against sleeping. Grinning ever so slightly, he set his head atop hers, pulling her closer in a protective manner and allowing the yawn from before to escape.

India
India's form twitched lightly, signaling his return to the land of the living. Mumbling some little complaint, which sounding something like 'five more minutes,' he reluctantly opened his eyes. As usual, he found he couldn't move upon waking. Normally, he would've just stayed put until he drifted again, but he was feeling unusually warm and slightly uncomfortable. Shifting away from his mate, he rose, stretching and sighing in a relief as the air cooled his skin a bit. Through weary eyes, he glanced around the HQ.

Ember
Ember stirred slightly from his spot on the floor with Remus and Nari, his nose twitching, tickled by a strand of hair that had fallen across it. Eventually, however, the tickling was too much, and he sneezed loudly, jolting himself into a sitting position, where he blinked in sleepy confusion. After a moment of befuddlement, he remembered where he was, but a glance down told him that he hadn't woken his companions. He curled back up, trying to go back to sleep, because he really didn't want to be up and about and just leave Nari and Remus sleeping here together- but it was no use. He was truly awake. With a sigh, he heaved himself up, surveying the room for something he could do while keeping them in hearing distance.

India
Everything seemed just right. The empty HQ, as usual. His body had all but cooled by now and India was ready to return to sleeping with his mate. While wary, he was not usually skittish by nature. Thinking the room was empty must've been the reason, he tried to convince himself. For, as Ember's sneeze met his unexpecting ears, his body tensed, claws clicking against the floor. He stood in that almost flailed position for a moment, his heart beat calming. Righting himself, he scoffed at his own actions. Wandering out of the corner and peeking, very sneakily, he told himself, around the couch, he spotted Ember standing at the two sleeping Kitsu's sides. He recognized them, too.

Ember
Ember's eyes widened as he heard a click from somewhere behind the couch, and he hunched his shoulders defensively, just in case anything hurled itself at him. When nothing did, he relaxed a bit, perking his ears to listen for any further sounds. He stood like that, absolutely still and alert so that he could catch any signs of danger, but when he heard nothing, he shook his head, feeling foolish. You're imagining things, idiot., he thought, inwardly kicking himself for being so skitterish. There was nothing there, so he had to be imagining things. Yes, all was perfectly fine.

But he didn't really believe his own reassurances, that was obvious, for his eyes still darted about nervously, and he was still tensed in anticipation of attack.

India
India almost smirked. Almost. Same old Ember. He certainly liked seeing the skittish side more than the submissive side. But by now, his anger and annoyance had fading. Truly, he wasn't one to hold a grudge. Slinking out from behing the couch, he was sure to keep his pace slow and calm, not wanting to startle the other.

"Ember..." he spoke out, canting his head ever so slightly as he walked. He hoped the other male wasn't upset with him. In all truth, he wanted to be friends, he really did, but there was something about his personality which could be grating. Not that he wasn't willing to try, considering he doubted his own personality was well accepted by everyone.

Ember
Ember cringed as he heard his name called- not because he didn't recognize the voice, he could tell it was India- but because he'd thought his not-quite-friend was something or somebody dangerous. "Uh, h-hey, India.." he greeted him in return, wondering if he was still angry. The last time they'd really spoken, he'd made India upset, he remembered, his ears drooping slightly before he shook his head in determination. He would do nothing to upset him this time, no matter what. He didn't know why, but he really wanted India's approval- even if he didn't deserve it.

India
Noting the slight stutter in the other's voice, India merely shrugged it off. He hadn't doubted Ember would be nervous around him. After all, he was nervous around nearly everyone. Truthfully, he was most happy to hear no real anger in the other's tone. Had he ever heard the other angry? Despite the fact that his thoughts weren't voiced, he shook his head, smiling lightly. "Having a party?" he asked, though it was a rather stupid sort of joke. Amber eyes glanced momentarily to the sleeping forms.

India
India yawned, stretching in preparation for a usual nap, despite the fact that he'd just awoken not long ago. Well, that'd never stopped him before. Canting his head as if to stretch out his neck, he glanced around. Not much going on. He'd come to expect that. As one who stayed in the HQ most of the time, he saw the up times, times he didn't much prefer, and down times, perfect for napping. Another yawn escaped his throat as he moved lazily off to the side of the couch.

Roy Mustang
Roy Mustang was already in the room, on the other side of it near the fireplace. He gazed into the empty fireplace, contemplating lighting it. He shook his head and forced that thought out of his head, aware that he was sweating slightly in his uniform due to the heatwave the HQ was currently having. Earlier that week, the airconditioner broke down, causing Kaida to complain about the heat. Roy just listened to her complain about it while trying to keep Azura calm. He gazed around the room, sensing another kitsu in the room with him. He flicked his flesh-colored ears slightly, picking up a kitsu yawning. He wondered how a kitsu could actually sleep with the heat this bad.

India
Despite his black fur, India had no aversion to the heat. Rather, it merely made him sleepier. Making it to the couch easily enough, he glanced around it casually, not expecting to see another. Raising a brow, he eyed the familiar uniform for a moment. A slight smile of recognition soon followed. He remembered their first meeting. They hadn't gotten along so well at first, he believed. Still, he couldn't help but find himself thinking that he had made up for his unwanted curiosity in the end. Telling himself sleep could wait, he slunk out from around the couch, calling quietly, "Hey Roy."

Roy Mustang
Roy twitched an ear slightly towards the sound that came forth towards him and his head followed it a few minutes later. He saw India from behind the couch and he canted his head to one side. He vaguely remembered their first meeting and he sighed. "Hello," he said in a soft tone of voice.

India
Once he'd found himself at the fireplace, as well, India flicked his tails lightly, careful to keep them to himself. But even though he'd decided to visit rather than sleep, that didn't mean he wasn't tired. Settling down into a sit, he stared blankly at the empty fireplace, idly wondering how it could be so hot it there was no fire. That was the first time he'd even noticed the extra heat. Instead of bringing it up and perhaps making himself look stupid, he dismissed the thought, opting for a different conversation starter. "You like it here, at the fireplace, I mean?"

Roy Mustang
Roy nodded his head. "Yeah. I met my mate in the Mountain's HQ and I spend most of my time here, practicing my alchemy," he said to India in a soft voice. He remembered his first reaction to the other male kitsu and he wanted to keep his distance away from the other kitsu as much as possible. He quivered his tails slightly before curling them around his legs.

India
"Mm." India seemed to think for a moment, still staring into the empty fireplace. "I met my mate here." Noticing the other's small movement out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly felt wary, his all black tail swishing to sit across his paws. "She's told me about the Mountain a little, but I've never been. I probably never will." There really was no reason he wouldn't go, he just didn't believe he would ever find the need. "Is it nice?" He questioned idly.

Roy Mustang
"It is alright. I wish my mate would move down here with me, though. I haven't seen her in a long time, though, so I am missing her a lot," he said in the same tone of voice, with a hint of sadness in it. he hated being away from his mate for long periods of time and it made him depressed and gave him nightmares.

India
India's ears drooped, but not enough to be noticed unless one was really looking. Not much enjoying pity, himself, he refused to show too much of it to others. It was more empathy, for he felt he could understand, if only a very little. "Does she not want to leave the Mountain?" He asked carefully, still remembering the bit of trouble his delving had gotten him into last time.

Roy Mustang
Roy shrugged slightly and left the question alone. He didn't want to discuss it anymore and the shrug was an indication to India about that. Sighing, he gazed down at his gloved paws and wondered what he had done wrong to make his mate run away from him.

India
Tred carefully, India told himself. Nodding slightly, he removed his gaze, which had luckily shifted to Roy in time to notice the shrug. Sucking in a quiet breath, he held it in for a moment before breathing out, trying to keep it quiet, but failing. There wasn't much now he could think of to say. He wanted to help, but felt there was no way to do so without intruding in matters that didn't involve him.

Roy Mustang
Roy continued to gaze into the fireplace, still contemplating on whether or not he should light it, despite the heatwave the HQ was experiencing. He shuddered slightly as he quivered his tails again, unsure of what to talk about to the other male.

India
India caught the shudder, amber eyes narrowing slightly. Alright, so the other might not like it, but he couldn't sit her any longer and just watch. Whether Roy wanted to walk away or not was fine, but he wasn't ready to do so, himself. "Are you alright?" He made the first question simple enough. Nothing too personal, at least, not in the question itself.

Roy Mustang
Roy nodded his head for a few seconds, paused for a few seconds, and then shook it slowly, his eyes holding sadly, despite the blank expression he had on his face. Ever since Kaoru went away, his nightmares had come back, causing Roy to get very little sleep at night and depression was starting to set in.

India
India's eyes softened. He lowered his gaze to the floor, then returned it to the other male, before finally allowing it to rest on the floor again. "Is it...." Shaking his head, he strayed from any specific questions. "Care to share?" He questioned cautiously. When he really thought about it, he didn't think Roy would, but it didn't hurt to ask, he supposed.

Roy Mustang
Roy sighed and closed his onyx-hued eyes for a few moments before realizing that India was the only kitsu he could talk to at the moment. If Kaoru was there, he would be chatting with her, but she hadn't been seen in many months. Kaida could care less about his trouble and Azura was too scared of him. Ryuuza was rarely around, too, so he was no help. Roy sighed and and hesistated slightly.

India
Canting his head to view the other, India smiled lightly. "You don't have to if you don't want, but I'm willing to listen." As if to solidify his claim, he nodded slightly and looked to the fireplace. Strangely, his all black ear and tail seemed to twitch in unison as he waited.

Roy Mustang
Roy nodded his head and took a deep breath. "I am just...afraid that my mate might have abandoned me for someone else. Since me and her can't breed, it made both me and very sad and since then, I haven't seen her," he said in a soft, saddened voice.

India
Holding back the urge to rudely ask 'why can't you breed?' India watched his paws a moment, thinking. He didn't know Roy's mate, so he couldn't just jump up and make any old statement. He really had to ponder over this one. "I... don't think you should give up just yet." Narrowing his eyes thoughtfully, he continued, trying to choose each word carefully. "If you care for her like I feel you do, I think you should trust her and give her a chance to return before... perhaps jumping to any conclusions."

Roy Mustang
Roy nodded his head, half convinced with India's words. He wanted to keep his faith in hoping that Kaoru would return to him, but it was slowly fading away with each passing day.

India
India watched Roy for a moment before returning his gaze, once again, to his paws. It stabbed at him as he thought about it. He wondered what it would be like if Chroma never came back. He tried not to think about it, realizing it would do no good at this point. But it made him even more tired as he was unable to disperse the thoughts. Ears drooping slightly, he felt his shoulders slouch.

"Well, I don't think I'll be much more help now," he revealed, quelling a yawn. "But if you wanna talk again, I'll be around." Standing, he stretched. "See ya later, Roy." He offered in farewell, nodding to the other male before stalking off behind the couch.

---Braille

-Pg. 2458-2460

Kaida
Kaida crepted into the main room of the HQ very carefully and quietly. She didn't want anyone else to know she was in the room, reading her braille book. After finding her favorite spot under a coffee table, she lowered the book that was perched on her back and opened it to the dog-eared part that she had left off on the night before.

Ember
Ember paced slowly from one end of the room to the other, lost in thought- though what he was thinking about was hard to be sure, for though he mumbled to himself as he paced, his words were so quiet they were very nearly impossible to make out. He seemed nervous, though that was nothing new. Ember was always nervous to some degree.

India
India stretched idly as he padded from the kitchen, banana in mouth. As usual, he glanced around, looking for signs of life or perhaps looking to avoid any large crowds that might've taken up in the HQ during his short trip. From his good vantage point, he noticed both Ember and Kaida, though the other male was much easier to spot. Not really knowing what to do, he slunk off to the side of the kitchen door and ate his banana, then carelessly tossed the peal into the room he'd just exited. He'd pick it up later.

Kaida
Kaida pricked her ears up as she heard one kitsu enter the room, and then a second kitsu enter the room after the first one. She frowned slightly as she placed one paw on one of the pages of the open book she had in front of her as she began to growl a warning growl to the two kitsu. She didn't want to be disturbed whenever she was reading her favorite book that Remus gave to her.

Ember
Ember started at Kaida's low growl, peering frantically around the room to see who'd growled at him. His eyes fell only on India, and his ears drooped slightly. What had he done to make India growl at his this time? He hadn't even known the other kitsu was there, let alone said anything to him.

India
Licking at his maw, India blanched and almost choked on banana remnants upon hearing the growl. Brows furrowing, he peered around, wondering if there was another in the room, besides the two he'd already noted. As his eyes made there sweep, he noticed Ember looking at him with fallen ears. Did the other think that growl came from him? "Hey, wasn't me." The darker male called out with a shrug, glancing over to where Kaida's multi-colored fur was just visible under the table. Maybe it'd been her. But why? They hadn't done anything to her.

Kaida
Kaida continued to growl deep in her throat as she let her paw glide over the page as if it was iceskating. She could sense that the other two kitsu weren't going to go away from the room. Sighing, she stopped growling and extended her other paw out from under the coffee table to show the two kitsu the blood-like stains on it.

Ember
Ember ducked his head sheepishly at India's assurance that it hadn't been him growling, and looked around the room to see who else it could have been. As he did so, he saw a paw come out from under the table- like a snake or some other crawly-thing in his mind, apparently, for he jumped a bit- and peered beneath to see who was the growler. When he saw Kaida, he was puzzled. "H...Hi, Kaida...uhm. S-sorry for whatever it was that we...uh, or I...did to bother you."

India
"What he said," India added, stalking off from his post to join Ember. He'd only met Kaida once. Well, it hadn't really been a meeting at all. Thusly, he was rather confused to what he could've done, especially considering he had done nothing but eat a banana since entering the room. Bending to look as well, he happened to notice a book of sorts. Raising a brow, he stood upright again, all black tail twitching idly.

Kaida
Kaida pricked her ears up as she heard familiar voices from in front of her. She canted her head to one side as she lifted her head up to reveal glazed-over crimson-hued eyes. "Who is there?" she asked them curiously.

Ember
"I, uhm." Ember flustered, looking away from her. He'd forgotten how her eyes were, and they kind of scared him. "I'm uhm, Ember, and India is h-here too...why...why d-did you growl at us?" There. He'd managed to ask what he wanted to know...he just hoped he hadn't sounded too rude, or blunt. He didn't want to offend her...

India
India watched Kaida curiously for a moment, blinking at her eyes. Ah yes, she was going blind. He remembered hearing that now. Rather than dwell on the fact, he eyed Ember, unable to keep his head from slightly tilting at the other's usual skittish-ness. And rather than repeat the question, he merely nodded, though he doubted the femme could tell, and waited.

Kaida
Kaida flicked her ears as she heard one of the kitsu speak his name to her. "Ah, now I remember. Why was I growling? I thought you were someone else who wanted to interrupt my reading time." She paused her paw on a section of the book and glanced down at it with her blind eyes before glancing back up at the two kitsu. She flicked her ears in the direction of the other kitsu and raised an eyebrow slightly. "Have we met, India?" she asked him curiously.

Ember
"I...I wouldn't interrupt you, Kaida.." Ember assured her, fidgeting slightly and resisting the urge to just flee right then. "What- that is- what are you r-reading, Kaida?" This, at least, was a safe subject for Ember- he loved books, and could talk about them endlessly, though he didn't know how a blind kitsu could read...

India
"I don't believe so," India said with a slight nod, pawing lightly at the floor. "Not truly, anyway. I saw you once, in a large group and I've heard of you. That's all." Slipping to a sit, it hit him to wonder, as well, how she could read. Glancing at Ember, he merely waited for the question to be answered, as before. No need to get too pushy.

Kaida
Kaida swiveled her ears to Ember as she canted her head slightly. "It is a book for the blind. It has braille in it so that I can easily read it. This is just a book for learning and practicing reading braille that Remus gave me," she told Ember in a slightly chipper voice. She then swiveled her ears toward India and nodded her head slightly. "I see," was all she said to the other male.

-Pg. 2464-2466

India
India woke with a start, glancing around quickly. He didn't remember falling asleep. Heck, one minute he'd been talking with Ember and Kaida, the next he was half-way across the room, tucked happily in the corner. When had that happened? Shrugging off the strange feeling, he rose and stretched, all but ready to sleep again. Idly, he took in the sight of the room, seeing a few familiar faces, both of which seemed content enough without his company. That was fine. Stretching once more, he yawned.

Chroma
Chroma wandered in seeming excited but a little out of sorts. In her mouth a bag swung heavily, obviously holding something with some weight. Spotting India her eyes brightened & she trotted amically to his side.

Sitting down she grinned around the bag. "Fndia! Fi've fana fread fur fou!"

India
India chuckled lightly at his mate's appearance, though that little laugh didn't last long. As soon as the words left her mouth, he found his maw twisting into some confused frown. Brows furrowed and eyes narrowed. "What?" He questioned dumbly, having caught nearly nothing of her statement. "Say that again?" He requested, though quickly added a, "Without the bag," in hopes that he wouldn't have to have her repeat it again.

Choma
Setting the bag down, Chroma grinned rather sheepishly. "I've banana bread for you, India! Trel made it to get better!"

She did not understand the last part, though she knew it to be true. Her eyes darted with concern towards Remus before returning smiling to see India's reaction. Wrinkling her nose at her own silliness, she opened the bag to reveal a perfectly browned loaf of banana bread.

"Trelweny uses extra bananas." Chroma nodded sagely.

India
India pondered over her words for a moment, but readily decided that it wasn't his business, nor would it bring him any good fortune to pry into just what 'made it to get better' meant. Besides, habits of caretakers were beyond him. He normally paid them no mind. Instead, the male concentrated on the fact that Chroma had mentioned bananas. His eyes lit at just that.

Though, truthfully, he'd never had banana bread. But despite this fact, the smell that came from the bag as soon as it was opened easily quelled his fears. Peering into the bag and moving ever closer with each little sniff he took, he grinned. "For me? You sure?" His ears perked at 'extra bananas.' "Smells good..."

Chroma
"Well of course!" Chroma's head snapped back as if stunned. "I told Trel how much you liked 'nanas & she said that of course she'd make 'nana bread for my man!" Although Trelweny's eyes had seemed overbright at the time. Chroma did not fully understand about how India could be 'her man' either, considering they were both kitsu. She shook her head & laughed. "Even ruffled the fur on my head! An I got to help!" She beamed proudly at her mate. Sure, her helping was in squishing the bananas... but that was more cooking or baking than the hyper kitsu usually managed.

India
India's expression softened slightly at the thought. This Trelweny wasn't his caretaker, yet she thought enough of him to make him food at Chroma's mere mention. Despite his usual non-existant feelings towards most two-leggers, he couldn't help but feel happy. "That was nice of her..." he muttered jovially, sticking his head inside the bad momentarily to pull out the bread. It was rather difficult to lift, but soon he had it, unharmed, sitting on the bag he'd straightened out. He had a thing about putting food on the floor. "Well, since you helped make it, you'll have to help eat it," he said around his first big bite. He almost found himself drooling. It was amazing!

Chroma
Grinning, Chroma licked delicately at some of the crumbs; content to watch India enjoy her human's baking. Laughing she licked his nose. "You like?"

India
"Yeah!" India exclaimed, much more excited than his laid back attitude usually allowed. As he did so, crumbs found their way from his still semi-full mouth. He flushed, though it was all but unnoticeable under his dark fur. Licking some of the remnants from his maw, he eyed the still large amount of bread before him. Regular bananas were good, but this was much, much better! "Have s'more, Chroma," he coaxed, grabbing another greedy bite for himself, unable to say anything more as his mouth was far too full.

Chroma
Her blue-blue eyes glistened with happiness and her heart felt fit to bust. Obediently she took a little nibble, but then a mischivous glint came to her eye & Chroma began licking playfully at the crumbs catching themselves in India's fur. She purred playfully. "I've had the bread before... but I've never gotten to watch you eat it."

India
"And watching me must be oh so interesting," India mumbled sarcastically around his bite before swallowing. Trying to ignore the fact that she happened to be eating crumbs from his fur, he smiled. "Of course, that leaves more for me." He told himself he was swift as he moved from her reached, circling around to get at the loaf from a different angle. Taking another bite, he grinned full-mouthed at her from his new position, as if taunting her to try and follow.

Chroma
ooo. A game. With playful glint in her eye, Chroma more than willingly answered her mate's taunt. She wriggled across the floor after him -surprisingly mindful of the rest of the loaf. Nearing India Chroma flipped on her back & nudged her way beneath him to lick the crumbs from his over-full mouth. "It is interesting." She purred lovingly. "And it's all for you, silly." With a giggle she flicked her tongue to snatch the tiniest bit of bread from his mouth. She could think fo no better way to heed the taunt than that!

India
When India had his mind set to something, he would be hard-pressed to give up so easily. And when Chroma first bested him with her stunt, he thought of almost nothing more than the best way to get his 'revenge.' Swallowing what was left of the bite, though it was a rather large, unchewed piece, was the best way he could think to keep his precious bread from her. Next he merely backed away, lifting his chin like a horse as a smirk crossed his maw. Crouching, he began to slink around in an attempt to get at the bread. It was a slow movement, but truly he was waiting for her. He had a plan. Were she to come at him, he would be ready.

Chroma
Pouting slightly that she did not seem to get a reaction from India, Chroma rolled over. As he slunk away she decided to go with the tried & true. Her postierior raised slightly and her tails flicked as if dancing. With a grin she hunkered down before sproinging up in a pounce

India
India's smirk widened. Perfect. Calling on the most energy he could muster, he slipped backwards, his paws deftly moving around each other. And he continued this swift movement until he was a good foot away from where he believed she would've caught him, had he stayed put, of course. Springing off to the side, he padded around until he was square with her side. Eye narrowed, he went for his own pounce.

Chroma
She landed with a thud on the hard floor. Her eyes crinkled in confussion. Chroma knew she should have had him. Her pouncing was one of her better skills. Oblivious, she tilted her head to think -hard for Chroma- where she had gone wrong.

India
"Gotcha!" India called noting that her confusion was perfect. That would make it easier for him. Paws outstreched and flexing, he knew he would have her! And then he landed, but not on her. Instead, he plodded down right next to her, grinning down at her. In one quick move after that, he bent down and gave her a few nice, wet licks all over her face. And once he had finished the 'cleaning,' he moved off to grab another bite of unguarded bread.

Chroma
She did not scream, but her body practically did as Chroma hunkered down & shivered in surprize at being nearly pounced. She had lost sight of India & since that was the last thing she might have expected from him anyway it left her quivering like jello with a strange surprized gladness. Then as he licked her face she felt her already wobbly appendages buckle. By the time India moved towards the banana bread, Chroma was puddled on the floor.

Rolling, she turned glazed eyes upon her mate. "India... you know I love you?"

India
While still reveling in his little victory, India packed away the rest of the bread. Though, he found it rather annoying trying to put the half-load back into the flattened bag without letting said food touch the floor. Still, he found a way to get it done. And when he finished, he couldn't hold back a yawn. Ah, all the energy he'd expended.

Glancing at Chroma when she spoke, he felt a brow raise. "Of course," he answered with a smile. "And I hope you know I love you, too." Picking up the bag, he padded over to his mate and set it close before laying down. He snuggled up to her, nuzzling at her shoulder.

Chroma
Everywhere he touched her body tingled, but Chroma still could not get her legs to move correctly. The most she could do was snuggle right back into him until they touched in as many places as possible. Winding her tails in his she smiled sleepily at his banana breath. "Because we're each others'."

She twisted to n** his ear lovingly before finding herself answering his yawn with one of her own. My! But India made her feel she had run marathons!

Sighing happily she drifted off to sleep thinking that more banana bread was definately a good idea.
