Lance had to smile as he looked into Rai's eyes. This girl was obviously cautious and smart. Nanya joined his side as the vampire spoke. "Of course you aren't a match for me. I am one of the oldest living creatures of the world at this moment, do you truely believe Chase, that my death could be simple?"
Nanya was looking at Rai with a small glare. It almost seemed the woman was flirting with the vampire by proving her smarts. Lance liked independant women though he liked control over them.
Lance shook his head. "Non, I am not that simple to kill though if I were you, listen to Rai. You're a firestarter, use your smarts." It seemed dumb that Lance was lending hints on how to kill him, but the vampire liked a challenge. His life had become boring, it needed to be spiced up. The vampire looked at Rai, taking a step toward her. "I don't want to kill you all. Not just yet. What I want to know is how you came to that dear Rai?"
He whispered in her mind: "You are quite interesting...who are you?"

Rose stood quietly trying to make sense of everything. She was confused although everything was clear. Rose shook her head hard, her thoughts weren't even make sense anymore. She needed her grandma to cast another healing spell on her, side affects of the accident had caused her to lose her senses besides her memory loss. "What's going on." she asked

Nanya shrugged. "Lance only knows. I just do as he asks." She whispered to Rose even though the vampire could easily hear her.

Rose nodded, she was still confused and her head was buzzing, but she was trying her hardest to focus. "Ok," she whispered back finding that her voice was fading. Rose squeezed her eyes shut then opened them again. She had to get that spell...

Rai noticed rose swaying and her whiterlighter instincts took hold. She rushed over, and held on to the girl's shoulders.
"Is there anything I can do to help?" She wishpered closely, worry in her eyes, "I can heal.."

His power of fire was the key.* So the tales of stakes in the heart and the sun burning you are false?* Chase asks the confident vampire. He rotates around and asks this Rai girl* Who and what are you? * He asks in a raspy, cold voice.* And how do you know of this Lance? * He pulled out another cigarrette and his eyes turned orangish red and smoke started rising from his cigarrette. He turns once again and sees a girl who is kind of panicing. (( I am talking about Rose )) He stares for awhile then questions* What's wrong?

Lance answered Chase. "I didn't say that those tales weren't true mon ami, if you would like to see if the stake through my old heart is true, then go ahead and try." The vampire said with a smile, then he wordlessly watched Rai help Rose.
Nanya stood at his side.

Still holding Rose waiting for her answer, Rai turns to Chase, her eyes sparkling. "I am a whitelighter of the highest order!" Rai says with pride, placing a hand on her heart. "I was sent by the Elders to watch over all of you!" She motions to the group.
Then she turns to Lance, a smug smile on her face. "You are not so hard to read, old one. If you wanted us dead, you'd have killed us the moment we set foot in you territory. I know you can sense me from miles away; you're hatred for whitelighters precedes you."
She again turns toward the group. "I'm here to protect you. This, man, want only to judge your skill. Attacking him would only give him exactly what he wants from you all"

The next instant a tree branch from the previous tree he had looked at went flying at Lance. It impaled his chest. He turned towards Nanya and threw a fireball at her.* (DUDE! You didn't even give Lance a chance to protect himself! Not the way...but I'll play it...) Nanya flicked her wrist, the fireball flying into the ground. She threw her arm from her body and a huge rope of flame went flying toward Chase. Lance was driven into the ground with a thin branch through his chest. He growled in anger, thankful that the branch had missed his heart by inches. The vampire broke the branch from the tree and pulled it from his chest, his shirt bloodying up. The wound was quickly healing. The vampire tossed the branch into the air and jumped kicked it toward Chase.
