Is it wrong of me to think that about no matter what my opponent does he's going to end up a gory mess? I could stop using my cannon now and just take him on at melee and he would have to deal with a half ton armoured construct that can move around quicker then some of the most graceful dancers.

So, question; since each fight has its own threads, are we running simultaneously? or is each thread being activated in turn?

Each one starts as each fighter posts. So simultaneously.

Coolness. So, then, I have another question, this time for clash: Where'd you put my fight? @_@

If you don't see it in the FFA subforum then he hasn't gotten the chance to put it up yet. I believe it was stated last night that his computer was acting up.

Tacitus
Oh you poor thing... XD As a whole I credit Jansy Boy up there as a portion of the reason I'm not a n00b. XD As for your bio, why cut it down at all?

Because most people don't like to read long ones, espcially for things like this or the like. People are specifically asking for 'short' bios.

I remember putting in a fairly detailed bio...

Yeah, but the last bio I wrote out was about 20 pages in word in Arial 10 font. If I were to write out Fae or Tellus' god help me, I'd be chained to the computer for ages and still at 50 pages or so it wouldn't quite be complete.

Is it bad that I actually intend to write such a history for a character? Well I have 10k years to work with...

Oh, I plan on putting Fae and Tellus' story down in a book someday. No doubt about that. I still need to get permission from a few people though to use their characters. I have permission from some, it's the other more difficult people that are well, more difficult.

Alriiight-a. All the FFA branch threads are now set up and I've made announcements in the outer-GGN threads concerning the move to GGN, so the tasklist goes as follows:

  • PM mod to have outer-GGN threads (sans OOC thread) locked.
  • Send GGN invites to all current tournament participants.
  • Kick non-responsive FFA combatants via PM's.
  • Continue sending invites to people on this list I have, then continue scouring forums for competitors.

Meh, I'm about to leave. If at all possible, I'll post in the thread for my fight with Kyo, but I may not post for a few days, so, yeah.

That's cool, Darth.

Send this out to people you want to invite:

Story

A single man decided to host an open tournament for all fighters that wished to compete for the title of Gaia's greatest fighter--the greatest fighter in the omniverse, across worlds, galaxies, timelines, the multiverse, realms, realities, and planes--using his own wealth, materials, connections, and abilities to construct a stadium for the event.

Entry fee for participants is 1K.

The way the tournament runs is simple. Branches have been set up for the Barton Town, GAIA Commerce, Chatterbox, Organization/Military-Based Guilds, and Free For All roleplaying areas of Gaia. These areas were chosen simply for being hotspots of Gaian roleplay, and branches solely serve the purpose of having one roleplay with people stemming from an environment one is familiar with. This is an open tournament, and as such, there is no discrimination in the tournament for those new to Gaia. A person may enter whatever branch he or she wishes. 128 participants will be accepted from the Commerce, Barton, and Chatterbox branches each, and 64 participants will be accepted in both the O/M and FFA branches, making a total of 512. One may now enter with a max of five characters per bracket, with the cost being 1K per character entered. Be careful when entering multiple characters in the same bracket, however, because due to the randomization of match-ups, there is no guarantee that two of the same person's characters will not be pitted against one another.

The prelimary tournament brackets will run down to the final two participants in each of the branches aside from the O/M and FFA branches, in which case one fighter from each of those two branches will be drafted to the final eight. These final eight will advance to the Gaian Tenkaichi Budoukai quarterfinals, ever closer to winning the grand prize and the title of greatest fighter in existence.

Individuals in the final eight will battle off to decide their placement and prize money. After the first six places have been decided, the two fighters in the finals will square off to decide the grand champion.

  • The eighth and seventh place participants will each win 4K.
  • Sixth place wins 8K.
  • Fifth is 16K.
  • Fourth is 32K.
  • Third is 64K.
  • Second is 128K.
  • First is 256K.
