 Can one person enter more than one character? Of course, you could only win once. For example, an Irish and an English character, seperate personalities and backgrounds. Thank you!

What times are you usually online?: Almost all day every day. Trust me, I'll have time to RPG.

Name of Character: Lady Kiya Genzile

Country of orgin:
England.

What is their purpose for coming to the New World?:
A great explorer from England, Kiya seeks to find new land, and new speices. Most of England things she's a complete nut case. Thrilled to discover an untouched area, Kiya quickly packs up her stuff to venture out to the unknown. Not knowing what to find makes every adeventure for her every exciting and worth wild.

What is their description? (pictures help):

User Image[ignore the staff, and unicorn. xD] Kiya Genzile has long wavy dark brown hair. Her skin is fairly pale. She's about 5'11'' in height. She's not phsically strong, but mentally. She's very out spoken. Her dress is a dark purple almost indigo. She's very proper, and is nice to everyone unless they are mean to her. She doesn't aprove of hunters, or anyone who kills other living things.

What does their horse look like? (pictures help):

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Apollo a very tall Stallion. He's almost completely white except his left back leg. and the tip of his nose. He listens well, but sometimes has his own opinion on things and will let you know if he doesn't like it. He doesn't like other people that much which may lead him to bitting if others come too close.

Write a short story about this character and their horse:

Looking back on what has happened in the past, you could say she was pretty successful about exploring. It was her life, but this was her last adeventure before she was to be married. Packing up the last of her things before heading out to the carrage that'll take her to a near by boat she plans to take.

" Kiya, Darling. You don't have to do this." Her mother was standing in her room door way. Sighing, Kiya turns around and looks at her mother while picking up some of her bags.

"Mother, I've already told you. I'm going. I don't care what you say," Handing the bags in her hands to one of the maids. "This might as well be the last time I ever have fun. Ater getting married I won't have time anymore." Trying to explain things to her mother was usless. Her mother sighing deeping and walking out of the room. She always tried to convinced her to stay, which never worked. "Your too much like your father" she'd always say after her.

Looking to another maid, " Margret, is Apollo attacted to the back of my carrage?"

"Yes, M'lady." Margret said bowing at her. Kiya handed her the last of her bags.

"Excellent," She said turning towards the doorway. "Soon we'll be heading out then." She said turning to make sure she didn't forget anything. Finally she started heading out the door way. She'd better hurry up, she was running late.

"Hurry up, Kiya. You'll be late" Called her mother from the all way. She didn't approve of her leaving, but couldn't stop her young adventureous daughter. Seeing her daughter amerge from the bedroom, she decided to walk with her to the carrage. "I would like you to know that I don't appove of this. None of your other..." She was cut off.

"-- 'None of your other sisters would ever think about exploring.' Yes, mom. You've stated that every time I go," making faces as she mocks her mother. "And if you don't remember I'm not like my sisters."

"Shame on you,' Her mother couldn't help but laugh." Well, get out of her before I change my mind and hold you back." she said as she pushed Kiya making her run out the door.

Running out to the carrage, she checked on Apollo before actually getting into the carrage. Once in the carrage it started to move. They had to hurry or the boat would leave without her. Which she didn't want to happen, or she'd be very upset.

Pulling up to the dock, she finally looks at the boat she's taking. It was huge, bigger then the ones she normally takes. "Wow, it's beautiful" she says to herself as she gets out of the carrage. walking to the back of the carrage she unties Apollos rains.

"You'll be fine, Miss?" Asked the driver of the carrage politely.

"Yes, Aric. You shouldn't worry. Just have someone bring my bags on the boat while I get Apollo comfortable." She said while not even looking at him. Petting Apollo to make sure he was fine. You'd think she cared about him more then her life.

"You care too much for that beast." Aric added while walking away to get people to help him with her stuff. She never reall understood why he had problems with horses condsidering he was a carrage caretaker.

Walking Apollo up the rail after she checked in. She was wondering where everyone else was going. Only she was stopping at the hidden area. Most people were afraid to go there. Seeing so many different people walking up and down rails. Horses, children, adults alike. So many people.

It was almost time for the boat to go. "Hurry up, Apollo. " She said as her horse stopped. " We don't have time for this." she said as she was pulling on her rains. Finally, the horse decided to give in and walk up the ramp the rest of the way. Snorting away, he decided to close his eyes.

Once the boat took way, she knew she was in this alone. She knew this was going to be the last trip, so she wanted to go it alone. One last adventure by herself before she has to sit and be little wife.

The winds where rough, and most people were down off deck. She just sat at the front of the boat, looking off into the never ending sea. With the wind swirling her hair around. She was ready. She didn't care what was out there. Without realizing it, her horse found his own way up onto the sufface of the boat.

Looking over as something nugged her. Apollo was looking at her with his big black eyes. " Apollo, don't scare me like that" She said patting him on the nose and giggling. "This'll be our last adventure like this." She sighed.

It seems that Apollo understood her. He nugged her again and snorted. "Stop that." she giggled more. Apollo's long white hair was waving around like hers. "I don't know what I'd do without you, boy" she said hugging his face.

It took a total of two days on the boat before they arived where she was supose to be. Sending her on a small boat with all her stuff and her horse. They were to back in a weeks time. Which she thought wasn't that much time for exploring.

With looking towards the land her eyes sparkled with delight. She Grabed ahold of Apollo as the boat grounded it's self on the shore line. After pulling up the boat to make sure it wouldn't float away. She jumped on Apollo's back. "Think we should take a look around, Apollo?" After asking Apollo he reared up and started running around the beach. Holding on tight, Kiya laughted " I take that as a 'Yes'"

CHARACTER DESIGN CONTEST
Your timezone: Eastern
What times are you usually online?: Nearly all the time... Probably from 9am to 11pm? Just give me a time and I'll be there!
Name of Character: Lady Taria Cromwell
Country of orgin: Raised in France, with some time in England
What is their purpose for coming to the New World?: Tired of the life of a lady... She wants adventure... And to get away from an arranged marriage to a man who would have her be a lady... The idea of a new world with new things to see facinates her, and she can't help but want to go.
What is their description? (pictures help): Dark haired (down to her waist) and fair skinned, she is not strikingly beautiful, or very curvy. Tari has an average figure and a wild spirit that makes it hard for her to meet men (not that she much cared to). Later she she chops her hair to shoulder length and keeps it in a tail, dressing as a man to get away from home. She succeeds and gets a job as an explorer on the first ship to the "New World". On the ship she has become tan and stronger, wise in the ways of water and wind, and well liked among her fellows. Her new life is something she has always wanted, challenge and joy and friendship, and she can't help but fear it's end.
Background: The daughter of Oliver Cromwell, she made her brother Richard (before he was thrown in prison) purchase a half-wild spanish stallion when she saw him at the market. The creature, whom she named Sibalto, and thrown and killed his last master, and would have been destroyed had she not bribed her brother to purchase him. She gave the bold stallion a second chance, taking him to her country house and letting him relax for some time before trying to gain his trust. She is one of the few who can approach him, for he is still untrusting toward most humans, however, he will go wherever she asks.
What does their horse look like? (pictures help):
Sibalto 1

Write a short story about this character and their horse:
A day at the market:Taria held onto her brother's arm as he escourted her through the Fair, knowing she loved to shop so. She smiled and pointed at things, he grinned and replied, sometimes they purchased, somtimes they walked on. The noise of people, animals and music swirled around the stone walls and straw-roofed carts and selling tents, making the Fair an area of nearly living confusion. Raising a hand to her temple, Tari asked Richard to halt a moment, and fanned herself.
"Enjoyed it enough?" He grinned.
She laughed. "Never! I shall walk the whole of the Fair, with or without you!"
Richard shook his head, and led her on. The pair wove through the stands, reaching the animal market before long. Taria laughed at her brother and bent to investigate a litter of puppies in a crate, their owner appearing instantly to regail her with their pedigree and the fine hunts of their father.
After considering the hounds, they moved on, passing goats and geese, chickens and cows... Pigs, sheep, ducks, more dogs, and even the occassional exotic beast or bird.
Further on she leaned against the paddock fence of the HorseMaster, eyeing the stock he had for sale. The greasy haired man approached at once, trying to draw her eyes to a fine bay palfrey mare. She smiled a kind 'no thank you', and inquired about the dappled stallion with the fine arching neck and the hooves like thunder.
"Fine Spanish Blood that one." The HorseMaster agreed as he eyed the rearing stallion. "The Lady has an eye for Spirit and looks."
Richard rolled his eyes at man and horse. "That is my sister for you."
Taria smiled sweetly at her brother, watching the stallion pace about his small pen.
"Well Ma'am... I'd be glad to sell ye that stallion, if I was sure you could handle him....But if ye follow, that stallion's half-crazed and would be better for a strong lad."
Tali eyed her brother, and the HorseMaster did the same. An oily smile appeared on his lips. "Of course... Its all just high spirits Miss.. If your fine fellow could get him home for ye, in the quiet, with a bit o' trainin', I'm sure he'd be the finest ladie's horse ye could ask fer."
Tali beamed at Richard. "Oh please?"
"A horse?" Richard coughed. "And one as mad as that? NAY sister dearest... Not even for your birthday.."
"Birthday and Wedding." She corrected and Richard's face fell. "Not even for a Wedding Present, dearest brother?"
Richard caved. "How much is the beast?"
At Home:Tari watched Sibalto rage around his paddock like he had day after day when he saw people within reach of his field. She ignored the stampeding stallion and climbed through the fence, her hair newly shorn and pulled back. She strode across the green, checking his hay before turning to the feed bucket.
The stallion halted, eyeing her as she emptied a bucket of feed into his trough and stepped back. He was confused by her altered appearance, but knew her scent for the one who had treated his wounds and brought his feed. Shifting from forehoof to forehoof, arching his neck and blowing, he considered her for long moments before moving forward. Slowly he stepped toward her and then faster, trotting over to feed.
Over the last few days he had become used to her, even allowing her to comb out the burrs and mud from his mane, tail and coat. Although everytime she pulled at him he would stomp a hoof or pin an ear. He was not ready to let anyone atop his back, nor did she expect it... But she wanted some of his trust, and he found himself giving it-slowly, warily, -but giving it never-the-less.
Eyeing her with a deep nod, he dipped his muzzle to the oats and sweet feed, and took a mouthfull, twitching his tail in farewell.
Smiling, she turned to walk away after eyeing his silvery coat to make sure it was clean. Still free of burs and brambles, Sibalto's coat glowed like starlight and ash scattered across the night sky. His legs and muzzle and deep eyes were black, mane and tail a streaked silver, white and black, and his coat a snowy white dapples with sterling. A beautiful stallion, wild and free, he eyed her smartly over his mouthfuls.
Satisfied, she turned away and began walking back across the field, stopping in shock as he nosed her shoulder. Tari turned and smiled as he bumped her chest with his nose, wuffling at her for a treat.
"So now we want to be a Prince?" She asked, giving him a carrot.
Sibalto seemed to shrug, noseing her cheek in thanks, and then trotted away, back to finish his feed.
"Perhaps there's hope for you afterall." She murmured at his distant form as he reared proudly and galloped across the emerald green.
"Perhaps we shall be freinds, you and I... Great One." She smiled, and turned away.

Some weeks later Tari sat on the great stallions back, basking in the sun as he casually cropped grass with the occassional flick of his tail. She watched a white hawk circle over the paddock, frowning slightly at its continued presence.
As though sensing her thoughts, Sibalto raised his head, eyeing her, then turning his attention to the bird. Tari smiled and leaned forward, brushing her hands up his thick, powerful neck, and burying them in the seafoam-fall of his mane.
"Ignore it GreatOne." She laughed. "Tis nothing."
The hawk screamed, and Sibalto whistled a reply, pulling into a half-rear and springing into a canter. Taria laughed in delight and clung to his back like a bur, relishing in his speed.
"Together, we can fly."

Name of Character: Cat (Catherine) - called Boy by most of the crew and passangers
Country of orgin: England
What is their purpose for coming to the New World?: Cat had no choice. She was kidnapped off the streets (where she had lived as long as she remembered of her seventeen years) and forced into servitude on the ship.
What is their description? (pictures help): Thin and scrawny, Cat easily passes as a boy, an illusion she works hard to maintain. She has dark hair tied back with a bit of twine to keep it out of her face. Surprisingly, her eyes are blue. Her clothes are worn and patched and her feet are bare. She has bruises from the scuffles she has gotten into with the older (and free) crew members.
What does their horse look like? (pictures help): Cat "aquired" her mount as soon as she was able to sneak the mare away once they made landfall. Pepper is a roan appaloosa, with her patterning spotting across her body. Her legs are darker brown, typical of the bay color, and she has some appy "eye" marks as well.
http://dragonflightstudio.com/RoanAppyRuffian.jpg
Write a short story about this character and their horse:
The creaking of the ship was comforting in its own way, Cat thought as she sat in the straw that covered the hold floor. It was better at least than the rough yelling and tall tales of the men who were currently in the galley having their supper while she waited for them to finish.
"What do ya think, Pepper-girl" she said to the mare who stood over her. Around her Cat could hear the shushing sounds of the other horses as they moved in the straw that they stood in. "Reckon they's abou' finished?" The filly whickered softly in reply and nuzzled her hair. "Aye, 'bout time I get up there an' start ta cleanin' before that John finds me lollygaggin' around"
With a sigh the young woman stands up. She gives the mare a quick pat and then heads up the rough ladder that leads up out of the beasthold. "I'll try ta brung ya a treat, lass!" she says before she disappears from the sight of the horses who have been her companions on this journey.
*****
Well, this is a mite bit different than London! the thought was just about all that Cat could manage as she sat with her back against a tree and looked around. They had finally made it to land and if her work had been hard before it was even moreso now! E'en on the streets it warn't this bad, she sighed as she picked at a splinter. The scream of a horse in fear brought her up from her lassitude. Looking around she saw the beautifully speckled mare who had been her friend for the long weeks of the journey being roughly handled by a bear of a man. That brute must be her owner, Cat thought even as she found herself stepping towards the scene.
"I wouldn't do it if I were you, Boy," came a soft voice behind her. Whirling around she saw the boatswain, one of the few who had been, if not kind to her, at least not cruel. "That man owns a good third of what you see here, yourself included, lad." He sapt into the dirt "No piece of horseflesh is worth the beating he would give you for interfering." He placed a heavy hand on her shoulder. "I suggest you git back to the fire and sleep while ye can. Morning comes early"
With a jerk of her body Cat removes her shoulder from his grasp. She looks once more towards Pepper, who is now standing with her head hanging down, tethered to a tree near where the other horses are corraled. Silently she turns and goes back to her rough bed, wrapping herself in her blanket so that no one can see the tears that fall.
*****
"Saaa...easy girl..." Cat hoped no one else could hear the whisper. Pepper's ears flicked forward and she gave a woft whinny at the girl's approach.
"We're getting out of here, you an' I, lass," nimble fingers, trained by years of petty thievery on the streets soon had the knots untied that held the mare tied to the tree.
As silently as possible, the slim figure left the camp, a bundle of supplies on her back and a willing friend follwing on her heels. As soon as they were a safe distance away, she mounted and turned the mare. "C'mon now, Pepper, freedom's road is ours."
(my thought on this is that Cat would find either the viallage or some hunters and work with them, sort of an "insider" for the natives)

What times are you usually online?: Nine or Ten in the morning until 2:30 or 2:45
Name of Character: Bartholomew "Bat" or "Bart" King.
Country of orgin: England
What is their purpose for coming to the New World?: As was a notable source of inspiration for leaving England for many in the early throws of Colonisation, Bat was motivated by little more than the potential to make money and a name for himself. Not from a noble house, lineage, or any particular level of education, Bat has little prospects of rising above his station without taking a risk. Not a city man by any stretch, Bat has had a few too many close run ins with the law for Poaching, but in the New World...with wide open stretches free for trapping and skinning, the Americas really are the land of oportunity.
Personality: Bat (Or Bart), is distinctly a bit of a lout. He has little respect for women in general, and finds the idea of the women along on this journey rather laughable, and likely has offended any number of people by pointing out that there are no dress shops or sitting rooms waiting for them in the New World. In Bat's worldview, the idea of an 'adventurous' woman is an particular oxymoron, good only for a laugh over drinks, and he does also enjoy his drink. In spite of this hard to get over personality...issue...he is to a certain degree, a good man. For all his cussing and drinking, he hates liars, and refuses to do so, and even if his reasons against hitting women if he can avoid it aren't exactly the most noble, it still stands he's loathe to strike the fairer sex. He's also an acomplished hunter and trapper, and pretty good at 'getting while the going's good'.
What is their description? (pictures help): Might as well Reference the OC I ganked his name from. XD
http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/34016182/ Dirty blonde hair and an often unshaven chin, with grey eyes and an outdoor tan. Bat often wears the same old dingy shirt and pants and the much taxed suspenders.
What does their horse look like? Sparrow: A Gypsy Vanner. ((Gypsy Vanners are technicly a kind of draft horse bred to pull waggons, but are also ridden, and are bred for high intelegence and gentleness around people. They're also notable for their very flowing manes, tails and 'feathering'. Although this pic doesn't show it, I saw a Vanner mare once who's mane went almost to her hooves, it was amazing. @_@ http://www.whitestoneranch.net/Rock%20Rt%20Edged.jpg
Write a short story about this character and their horse:
Sparrow snorted as Bat combed his mane out with the curry brush, stomping one huge hoof.
"Don't you give me lip." Bat hrumphed in return, as he dragged out an tangle and a briar to boot. "You're the one that took us through every briar patch in the woods, don't complain to me when you need the burrs out."
True enough the both of them had gotten away because of Sparrows unique knack for finding every dog nose scratching bramble and every patch of reeking swamp plant in any given patch of woods, but that didn't make it much more fun afterward when the both of them were yanking stickers out of their skin and scrubbing off the mucky reek. "You know old man..." He notes, consideringly, as he brushes dowen the black and white pelt until it starts to shine. "I'm wondering if maybe we should give a go at taking a boat to the new World. Word has has it that there's pelts there a man might make a good living at catching. I mean it's not without danger but hell, A man's less likely to get hanged or get his horse sent to the knackers."
This word causes Sparrow to put his ears down, having been rescued from just such a fate by Bat. He can't actually speak english, this horse, but a few words still mean enough to get a reaction. "Carrot", "Apple" and "Sugar" especially.
He couldn't understand particularly what his rider was saying, but there was something tired about the tone that he could sympathize with. It kept getting harder and harder to make it out safely from their nighttime work, and Bat, at least in his own mind, had no skills to take another job.
Sparrow is comfortingly unaware of this, and instead noses Bat Gently as the man continues talking.
"Be a hell of a rough trip, Old Man, we might not even make it across in one of those hell ships, but I figure it's a good gamble." He pats the horses broad neck cheerfuly and rubs the velvet nose. "Besides, might leave you and me rollin in the clover. Imagine us living like kings, Old Man. Big ol house and a few servants, and an whole pasture of fillies for you. Bet you'd get a bit of fun out of that huh?"
Sparrow snorted again, draping his broad nose over Bat's shoulder and casualy attempting to examine his pockets for treats until Bat shrugs him off and steps back putting up the curry Comb.
"Right, I'll let you think on that, Old Man. And I hope the answers that you wouldn't mind, cause I bought us passage. We're heading out with the next ship..."

What times are you usually online?: Around 4 or 5 PM to 9 PM
Name of Character: Rene (Pronounced Rainy)
Country of orgin: Ireland
What is their purpose for coming to the New World?: Rene was looking for a better ground for crops instead of the hard, rocky soil of which he grew up in. Instead of potatoes, he wished to grow tobacco, which was said to be quite abundant in the Soquili lands.
What is their description? (pictures help): Rene has bright red hair, so bright it looks more orange than red. He has splotches of freckles here and there on his face, but not as many as he had when he was younger. The young lad has one brown eye, one blue, and is only about 17. His mother is half German, and his father is one hundred percent Irish, and both live in Ireland.
What does their horse look like? (pictures help): His horse is a white female Quarter Horse named Stacey.
http://www.doubledilute.com/images/blue-eyed-paradise.jpg
Write a short story about this character and their horse: Rene and Stacey worked together in the lumber company when Rene was only 12. He had been learning about the lumber business from his father, Howard when he found Stacey. She was only a filly then, and she hadn't trusted humans because she had been abused by one. But, Rene had still managed to take her in, and taught her how to trust humans again. Finally, when she was old enough he was able to put a saddle on Stacey and her father taught him how to ride. Just one year later, Rene brought her on a boat to the Soquili lands, hoping to make his fortune.

CHARACTER DESIGN CONTEST
Your timezone: PST
What times are you usually online?: every day when I have time
Name of Character: Owen Amoir (ah-more)
Country of orgin: Britain
What is their purpose for coming to the New World?: Born and raised in a rick folk mansion, Owen had always felt the pressure of an heir. His parents baron and baroness, he was to one day take over their estate, being as he was the only child (his mother grew ill after he was born and was advised by the docotor that she was to have no more children). But Owen had never really wanted to take over their mansion, he had wanted to earn his own life with his own wits. He wanted adventure, something to challenge him. And so, upon hearing of the journey to the New World, Owen packed up, saddled his horse, Masuo, and rode off in the middle of the night to join the sailors.
What is their description? (pictures help): Owen is young, not more than 17 summers. His hair is unusually thin, his eyebrows being of the same nature. Hair color is like the dirt, though a bit more shiny when washed. He is old enough to have a mustache and beard, though young enough to not quite have to shave yet, so his face remains rough with little beard hairs. His eyes are like his hair, though a bit deeper in color, and they don't sway so easily as his locks. His attire is quite simple, for someone who grew up with rich folk. He prefers loose breeches and a plain white shirt, his favorite old boots almost as rough as his face.
What does their horse look like? (pictures help): off-white (almost light gray) body with black socks, black tail and mane, and an almost horizontal black stripe across the face--> here
Write a short story about this character and their horse: Owen went quickly down the steps. There had been some commotion below deck and he had been the one ordered to check it out. There were neighs and whinnies, a sure sign that something was up among the equine.

Coming around the short corner so that he could have a good view of all the stalls, he quickly did a once-over. All but one horse seemed to be feeding or resting peacefully. Strangely, that horse was his own.

Moving quickly but not quick enough to arouse the other horses, the boy moved over towards Masuo's stall.

"What is it, boy?" he asked softly, reaching through the wooden bars to stroke the stallion between the eyes. The horse whickered in response and threw his head back, ears pressed down against his skull angrily. As if he had some way of understanding his mount, the boy whispered soothingly.

"Don't you worry.. there will be plenty of grass when we land, I assure you..." A pause. "And I'm sure lots of mares over there. I heard some snot talking about herds that other countries found." Owen grinned and winked, and, like the horse also had some way to understand his master, whinnied and lifted his ears forward. "Now that's my boy.." he said again, continuing the soft patting between the eyes. The horse whickered and looked into the human's eyes. For a moment, the boy was frightened. It looked as if his horse knew, somehow, what was going to happen when the ship reached land, and that whatever it was, it wasn't pretty and that Masuo was trying to tell him what. But in the next moment the gaze was broken and Owen shook it all from his mind.

"That's it, just hold up a bit longer. From what I hear above deck, we aren't too far off. Soon enough you'll have your lovely grass and mares."

Then, with one final pat, the boy turned away and went back up to the top of the ship, back to his regular duties as a sailor. The horse looked after him forlornly, then, when he was out of sight, the stallion sighed and shook his head. There was a bad feeling in his gut...
