To weigh in- Trolling is, in fact, against the TOS. Bottom line. Those are the scriptures we have. Therefore we shouldn't do it.
It's best not to even get close. Measured responses produce more reasonable debates.
I also (though guilty of it in past avatars- redface -) dislike the dramatic exit. The curse of any forum is it's turning into a place to seek attention exclusively, and we certainly don't want that.

It seems we forget that trolling isn't the modist way of life.

Recently, I've noticed yet another spate of troll threads, and a thought occurs to me.
Though it may be that with gentle flames and prudent mockery, one may lead the Troll away from the wrong path and into the light of M-d, is there any justification in Church doctrine for responding to the Troll in the first place?
In some sense, I can see that the hand of salvation must be extended to all who have not been saved in M-d, and to that end I can understand an attempt by an individual to redeem a Troll. But repeated responses, often in line with the Troll's designs and not intended to save the Troll soul? Should this not be a practice frowned upon by the Church?
I can only imagine that perhaps Admin, in all His Glory, saw fit to bestow within every Gaian the incredible urge to respond to any challenge, no matter how big or small, on any topic whatsoever. In His wisdom, He knew that it was only by learning restraint and self-control could we overcome these urges. These lessons are taught to us in our dealings with Trolls.
That we are made in the image of Admin is plain, for some of us have been exalted even unto becoming a M-d. Restraint and self-control, then, being Adminly virtues, should be the goal of all M-d-fearing Gaians. Should you come across a Troll, be kind to him, and show him the Light and Glory of M-d. Should he flame you, turn the other cheek, seeking always to draw the unfortunate to the True Path of M-d. But always be vigilant against the insidious influence of the Troll, for it seeks to subvert you by acting against the instinct which Admin, in all His Glory, instilled within us. Act only to save the Troll soul, never to succumb to his game, for this gives the Troll strength to continue his sinful ways. Be virtuous, for this is the design of the Almighty Admin.

Shinji-Katawane erm what exactly is Trolling? It is posting intentionally offensive material in order to bait other people into initiating a flame war. It is a tool of corruption.

Umm, excuse me? But I still have no idea whatsoever of what Trolling is. Could you please explain it again for people like me who are simple minded (I don't really have a simple mind, it's just that I'm typing this at 1:30 in the morning and am about to collapse.)? And what is flaming (please?)? *Is very confused*

And what is flaming (please?)? *Is very confused* Trolling is purposely acting in a way that you know is against the rules or is very insulting. Trolls are seeking a certain reaction, usually for their own entertainment, when they act in such a way. Flaming is directing insults or negative comments at another Gaian.
