Ulf has medium blond hair that has been cut fairly short and he has blue eyes. He’s well trained but his muscles aren’t very visible. He has a below average height of 175 cm (about 5’7’’) for a Swede. When you see him almost anyone can see that he’s either a soldier or police officer. He has a very stiff and strict body language that some people will find very dull and boring. He’s fairly young, only 23 years old.

Ulf is an idealist. He wants to do his best to serve the “greater good” of mankind. He hates disorder, needless suffering and injustice. He is not politician or a social reformer though, and only fights his battle on a small, local scale. He leaves the large scale thinking over to whomever leads him since he’s haven’t got the right mind or the interest for such thinks. He’s more of a doer then a thinker. But he’s definitely not a blind follower though, even if he can be deceived like any human being. He only follows the person he sees worthy or himself if no one worthy is around. He highly dislikes taking on the leader role though.
Ulf is a fairly quiet person but carefully watches and listens to what others do and say. He always try to think twice before he opens his mouth and wants to make sure everyone can have their say. During conflicts he usually stands in the middle, trying to solve the conflict by talking in a civilized manner and he despises anyone who solves their conflicts by using pure force.
Ulf is only used to be around Swedes and other Scandinavians. He has only travelled between the Scandinavian countries and gone on military tour as a UN soldier to Liberia. People that stand out too much from the “norm” make him a bit uncomfortable. He simply doesn’t know how to handle them and tries to avoid people that make him feel too uncomfortable. He especially doesn’t like people that move around "too much" while talking and/or have a vivid body language.
He also tend to frown on people who he believes craves allot of attention (people who dresses in “weird” clothing (Goths for example), people who acts in “weird” ways to “get attention” e.t.c.)
Character Background:
Was born and raised in Stockholm, the Capital of Sweden, in a middleclass family. His mother Lisa Björnsson work as a nurse and his father Karl Björnsson work as a car salesman. He has three siblings, one older sister Ylva, and two younger brothers Robert and Marcus. He had a happy and ordinary upbringing. He often went out camping out in the forests north and south of Stockholm with his friends during the weekends. He studied social science in High school but he was never really interested in it. For a time he felt a bit lost about what he wanted to do with his life. When he was 19 he got drafted into the army just like most young Swedish males. He served his term of service on a military base north of Stockholm; he served in a mechanized company. He quickly developed a taste for military life and was able to apply for a place in the Swedish UN expeditionary force in Liberia. He served for 8 months in 2004; just like last time the regiment he served in was a mechanized one. There had been two civil wars in Liberia and the last one had only ended a year ago. The Swedes were stationed together with an Irish regiment; their mission was to restore order and to disarm former soldiers/rebels in the surrounding areas. What happened there is something Ulf does not like to talk about. The horrible sights that met him in Liberia caused him to almost lose faith in humanity. He started to have horrible nightmares about his experiences there shortly afterwards.
After his service he was sent home and tried to build up his life again. He got himself a girlfriend, Sofie Lindgren and got himself a job as a Security guard. He would have joined the police force, but they wanted someone that was older they also weren’t sure he would be able to handle it in his present state. He was told to wait about 2 years before applying again. But his civilian life felt dull and pointless, he missed the order and the purpose that the military gave him. He only got to patrol a dullsville of a suburb during his nightshift at work and the only thing his girlfriend didn't seem very supportive of his military career dreams. After 4 months he applied to the Swedish Officer Academy in hope that he will one day become an officer. Being an officer is that only way he can make a career in the army. But he got rejected because of the mental trauma his past experiences had caused him. Now he either has to find another way of making a career that will satisfy him or get better so he can become an officer. That’s when he found an ad in the paper about a guard job on a tropical island. Apparently a medical company called Feral labs had one of their research facilities there. He felt that this was probably what he needed; to get a way for a while. After he had done some research about the company he just couldn’t stop himself from applying, Feral labs seemed like a very good hearted company that cares about people. His girlfriend, while happy for him, only let him go under protests and under the promise he would write as often as he could.
How does your Character get to/why was your character chosen for the Island? Ulf was chosen among a number of applicants for a “guard” position. He had applied for the job to get away for a while and hopefully get more interesting things to do then patrolling sleepy suburbs. However, the guard job wasn’t exactly what he thought it would be. When he arrives on the island he will believe that he is a guard that makes sure the experiment runs smoothly (even though he doesn’t exactly know what the experiment is about when he arrives) but he is in fact just another test subject. Moreau wants to mould him into something that’s loyal to him and can gain the trust of the other islanders (it will probably be pretty easy once he starts to transform since they will believe he was just fooled into believing that he was a new guard) If he proves himself trustworthy he might just get real guard status.
Ulf was chosen because Moreau believed that he could use Ulf’s idealism to his advantage. If he can convince him that the suffering of the islanders is a necessary sacrifice, that their pain can save and help millions then he will have a determined ally among the islanders. He knows Ulf is fragile because of his traumatic experiences abroad and Moreau hopes he can gain his trust by helping him picking up the pieces plus he’s young which might further help Moreau in his moulding process. Also, his experiences as a military and his excellent service record helped convince Moreau that Ulf was his man.

Ulf would be a fairly thin looking anthro toller. He would most likely decrease in mass and get even shorter then he was before. He will be covered in reddish orange fur, he will ha a pinkish nose and his eyes will have changed from blue to amber. He will have white furred hand paws & feet, a strip of white fur that goes from his nose over his muzzle up between his eyes, a white patch of fur on his chest and a white tip of fur on his tail. He will no longer have any human hair; it will have fallen out or changed into toller fur.

If Doctor Moreau wants a loyal servant a dog would be a pretty good choice. They’re trustworthy and obedient. So why did I choose a toller? Well, first of all tollers are pretty cute looking and well melt the hearts of most people, unlike other breeds that could scare away people like German shepards or rottweilers. Moreau wants people to feel fairly safe around Ulf so they can start trusting him with juicy secrets that they might have managed to keep away from him despite all cameras and surveillance equipment. Also the tollers’ speciality is that they lure out the water fowl closer to the hunter by catching their interest, and then the hunter shoots the fowl when they’re in range. I find this pretty fitting considering what Moreau wants Ulf to do (lure out potential threats into the open so Moreau can take care of them)
I also love dogs and feel that dogs are probably the one animal I’m most familiar with and the duck tolling retriever is my favourite dog breed.
What do you think really makes this concept? Why you?
Well I’ve got a couple of reasons:
1. He’s a character that will be faced with an interesting moral dilemma. Will he decide that Moreau’s experiment is for the “greater good of mankind” and worthy of his support or will he refuse to take part of it and join the islanders?
2. He’s got an unusual nationality/origin. Unlike most other Islanders that either come from Anglo-Saxon cultures or are Japanese, he originates from a different culture.
3. He’s has the potential to become a nice guy (unless Moreau deceives him) and the island needs nice guys.

Ulf groaned. He was exhausted. The sun burned against his skin and blinded his eyes as he lay in the sand on his back. He must have swum for hours his arms ached something terrible. He turned his head, by the looks of it he was on a tropical beach. He saw a building, it looked like a bar. He felt relived, it was an inhabited island. He couldn’t see anyone around though. He tried to listen after any human activities, but could only hear birds and the sea. He painfully forced himself to his feet. He licked his dry lips and looked around, his head pounded painfully. I better try to find some of the inhabitants of this island, he thought for himself. He started forced his feet to move towards the bar. Some water would be great now he thought with a smile. As he walked he started to look around to orientate himself. Most of the island seemed covered by jungle, but he could see some kind of a building up on the side of a mountain. Suddenly he felt a stench that made him gag. Painful memories resurfaced in his mind. Almost immediately he noticed the source of the smell; a dead boar. “Vad i helvetet?” he quietly cursed in his native tongue. He noticed how big the wounds on the boar where. What kind of animal could have done that?! He anxiously looked around and tried his best to hear any noises. Ulf could feel the salvia being produced in his mouth, he hated the smell of blood and he started to get sick from it. He hurried over the bar and quickly poured himself a glass of water. The water made him feel better; it was exactly what he needed. He filled and emptied a few more water glasses until his thirst had subsided and his headache had become a bit less intense. After seeing that boar he started to wish he had his weapon from the army in his hands. He looked up once again at the mountain. I better get moving… that mountain isn’t getting any closer he thought and putted down the empty glass.
